Good. Like all of the chain but not excellent. Too much to live on rents.

All employees I encountered were professional and courteous. Grounds well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend this property.
I did not stay at the Hyatt, but the walk from the parking lot is pretty rough. Sub-par from what I would expect from Hyatt.
Pictures I had seen about this hotel before booking it don't represent it well as it is much more better. It's a big property with lot of green, three pools, and an amazing exotic garden. It's very well maintained and very well organized, staff is friendly and welcoming, you feel in a very quiet place despite number of guests is significantly high. The restaurant can be improved in my opinion.
The room is nice. The looks are nice. The parking is way too much.
Better off at motel 6. I've never written a poor review of a hotel because you usually get what you pay for. The pool area was nice but the "hot" tub was mildly warmer than the pool. Parking is $27 per night. The walk to our room was 8 minutes. The beds are small. Everything is extra money. It is directly under the take off path from the airport so you have loud low flying planes every 5 minutes. Don't be fooled by the name "Resort". It's anything but.
Great time and enjoyed the services they provided. Went for the Newport Beach Jazz Festival
Stayed here for a few days, while attending a class. I love this place. It's very relaxing and tons to do. They have couple different pools, golf and few other activities to pass the time. They have a nice restaurant with some amazing onion rings! The salads are great too. Staff is friendly and the rooms are roomy and clean. It's what you would expect from a Hyatt. Perfect place for a fun and relaxing getaway.
Great resort hotel with lots of ammeneties. Free parking too. Nine-hole golf, bikes, three pools. Good restaurants too.
location is close to pch. and area seems pleasant with a ocean breeze
Our hotel stay was wonderful! From our room to the amenities. The front desk was courteous and the servers at the bar were great too. The man from recreation who came to open the slide was fun and helped my littlest guy. We rented bikes from the hotel to ride to the beach, it made it so fun! I appreciate how well everyone cared for us and the other guests. It was a great time and we will be back. They even brought us a microwave for my kids. The service was spectacular.
I loved my stay there I m glad I chose this place. It s a resort more than a hotel. Easy check in, friendly staff and nice atmosphere all the time. Parking is kinda far from the hotel
Amazing service and quality food and drinks. 5 star in all categories. They take time to know who you are and respect the little things. Thank you Hyatt Regency.
No way this is a 4 star hotel. I am a World of Hyatt member and has been for many years. Stayed in many Hyatt hotels all over and this was the worst as a 4 star hotel. I am attaching a picture of the desk chair in our room as a sample. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights and decided to leave after one night. They offered to upgrade us, but we didn't want to stay anymore. The room was so dated and water running sounds woke me up several times. The check in person was so rude, just handed me the keys without saying anything. I had to ask how to get to our room (this is a large property with many buildings). What kind of greeting was that? Unbelievable! Will never come back again!
Super place to casual out at!!! Good food, great swimming pools, nice work out Facility, bikes, golf, beach, what more could you ask for
Attended work event. Great experience overall. Excellent service and top quality food. Some of the facilities could use some updating however.
Rooms were clean, service was great. Only complaint would he the planes going over head. They start early!
This is a family-friendly resort, as well as a great place to hold meetings and retreats, with its rooms with wide windows. The setting is scenic. The staff, however, is its greatest asset. The only negative comments that I have are that I would have liked to have had a microwave in the room and there are not many restaurants nearby. You can walk a couple miles or take a car or rideshare if you want to eat off site. Overall, it's a great place to getaway and I would love to return.
Christine and other staff friendly helpful beautiful grounds and amenitys we will be back
The hotel rooms are clean with your typical standard layout for a hotel room. There are multiple pools and various activities to do such as golfing, biking, playing chess on a giant board, and so on. The front desk is really friendly and is willing to help out on any request you may have.
Perfect course for beginner golfer or just wanting to hit a few balls on vacation. Par 3 course with nothing over 100 yards. Super friendly staff. Non alcoholic beverages available. Look for this tennis club sign to find the right parking lot. Only 5 spaces reserved for golf.
Beautiful resort, especially the back of the hotel in the evening with the fire pit area. Restaurant was delicious and the bar was very quick.
Don't bother buying any drinks at the bar- they are mostly water- friends spent over $200 On drinks- avg. Cost per drink $16- they left the bar sober and very disapponted.
very nice clean Complex with full fitness, two pools, close to beaches. shopping
Beautiful hotel. Just don't like that you have to pay for parking. Also, it's kind of out of the way (so you definitely need a car), but overall pretty convenient to fashion island & the beach!!!
Nice hotel, good breakfast. Ridiculously expensive parking for no good reason.
We had a bag in our room with a big about of money in it I had banks in a suit case and it was removed from my room.. when I reported it the management stayed that he would have our door checked for how many Entries had been made and said that he would have the PD come and make a report . Didn t happen ! This was money I didn t want to leave home because it was a lot for my daughters wedding. I am so disappointed . This happened as I sat outside waiting for room to be cleaned! Beware!!!!!
Well located and very good cost benefit. It is my second time here and I will return If I have to stay in Newport.
Hotel was nice and clean. Customer service was horrible. We stayed for 2 nights Father's day weekend and our AC broke in are room. So we roasted at night. I contacted the front desk to let them know and all they had to say was thank you and we will have someone look into it. Needless to say no one ever checked it out. I mentioned it out checkout. Once again a fake apology and we will have someone fix it. I expect more from the Hyatt. Especially for how much the rooms are a night.
Clean and comfortable room nice pool area with hot tub and outdoor eating area with firepit and cozy sofas to relax or enjoy a drink there is a bar area that also serves coffee in the morning. Just a few minutes drive to Fasion Island shopping and restaurants
Great place. Has a solid restaurant with a great breakfast.
Beautiful location. Staff is excellent, esp the sales staff for events. One of the best hotels in Southern California.
Expensive for what you get. I expected a more up to date place. The concierge wasn't there when we needed assistance and the staff wasn't very friendly. Thin walls, airport nearby, amenities not great except the shuttles. Had to make several requests for things we needed like more decaf coffee and pillows that didn't smell of mildew. Parking is expensive and far from the rooms. The Shor restaurant was expensive and the fish tacos were awful. Plus I was cold so I wanted to sit outside which was right by the entrance so I smelled the exhaust of a truck most of my lunch.
Would give zero stars if I could. Upon arrival the staff did not greet our family, and after standing around for several minutes, they very rudely offered to check us in. The lady who checked us in was very snippy and short with us, and said the room was not ready but they would call us when it was. Five hours later, and without a call, we ended up going back to the front desk only for them to tell us that they did not have any 2 bed rooms available despite my reservation having been set for a year. We had a horrid view of bushes and the room is tiny and poorly laid out, and the restroom smelled like it had not been cleaned. The only member of the staff who attempted to remedy the situation was the front desk agent Chris. I have been staying with Hyatt for decades and this is not at all up to their usual standards. I will not be reterning to this property.
This place is super clean and then people at the front desk smile, say "Hello", AND wave to you. There is so much room to lounge. I practically had my own living room. The outdoor patio is warm and inviting with the fire. The beds are made perfectly and I sensed zero dust particles! I felt safe and special while visiting.
Pretty subpar considering the price and rating. Requested breakfast be brought to the room, was not delivered, and still charged for the $32 meal we were supposed to receive. Parking isn t included in your stay, and if you do pay for it, the cards won t work for the gate. Don t bother ordering late night room service as you ll be given an attitude for ordering and half the late night menu won t be available anyways. Additionally, if you are to go to the desk dressed in sweats, as you re trying to relax during your stay, you ll be given an up down stare due to your appearance and not treated with the same respect as your counter parts that are dressed in the season s latest fashion. Incredibly disappointing. New management and hotel renovations should be considered as I ve had better experiences at a Best Western for a quarter of the price.
Beautiful resort! Quiet, clean and well maintained.
First time staying here but had a great experience with the Hyatt they are real attentive to you for any of your needs.
the heated pool is nice. has a water slide for the kids. forgot which building we stayed in but it had a king size bed and a sleeper sofa (twin size) and plenty of space to sprawl out. tv was a pretty big size with ports open (didnt try them so I'm not sure if you can plug anything into them. room also came with a mini fridge. bathroom was a decent size as well. shower only, no tub. we paid $250 a night, which was not bad considering location, still on the steeper side.
When you first arrive the place looks nice and the staff is friendly but it is definitely not worth the price. My card was charged $400 for one night at this hotel and we found a spider in our bathroom. The pool closes early the drinks are over priced and it definitely wasn t what I expected. If I m going to be paying as much as I did for my stay I expect a high quality room/hotel experience which wasn t what my family and I got.
Today is our last day here and I cannot wait to check out. We have stayed at 3 of their buildings on this property and it was just went from bad to horrible to I m fed up. The first building they put us in was old and dingy. We walked in and I took my shoes off, stepping on to a completely soaked carpet. It was a disgusting and smelly room so we told the front office to move us. They then put us in the Balboa building. That room had a big hole in the ceiling and am faulty air conditioner. We only stayed there one night then checked out to go to San Diego for the night. When we came back Sunday I demanded to stay in the main building which is slightly more modern and overlooks the bay. Well they hesitated to give us that room but finally did. They put us on the second floor of the Catalina building on the second floor. The ceilings are so low and the walls are so thin we couldn t sleep all night long. The person upstairs sounds like big foot, we had loud kids next door and I could hear all of their conversations. Sunday night I call in a breakfast order for Monday morning...which the person at in room dining took done and CONFIRMED with me. I wanted to good to arrive at 9 am it was supposed to be a surprise for my husbands birthday and I even asked for a candle. Guess what happened on Monday morning ? No breakfast ...they had no idea what I was taking about. The person I spoke with was very sorry and said several times that she would take care of everything she was like do you want coffee too because whatever you want I ll take care of it. 30 minutes goes by and the food arrives in a PAPER BAG lol and the bill was over $60. I m so disgusted with this place it s honestly the WORST Hyatt I ve ever stayed in. I think or this area people should get a modern room with soundproof walls and some customer service, but hey what do I know.
My favorite hotel in New Port. Very welcoming, friendly staff. Delicious food and drinks.
Needed a change of scenery during this pandemic. Had a wonderful 2 night getaway here. It was quiet. Service was great. Shannon at the lobby bar/restaurant provided us excellent service. She was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations in the area. She always wore her mask and maintained social distancing, while still making us feel welcome. Very professional. We take the virus seriously so it was nice to see everybody at the hotel following guidelines. The pools were very relaxing. My husband and I were the only ones at the Lido pool and we texted the front desk to see if they could turn off the music being piped in so we could listen to our own music and within 5 minutes, they turned it off. Really nice to do that. My only complaint is the parking fees. $38/day. We will uber there next time since we are not far from Newport. Rooms are a tad dated but clean.
If you don't stay in the buildings closest to the main checkin, the rooms are pretty simple unfortunately. Considering the fact that this is the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, I was very disappointed. As for the rooms closest to the check in building, they are sweet. Thus the 3 stars.
Room was beautiful stayed in a villa. Each villa has its own private pool. Service was nice and accommodating.
Great place, service is a little on the down side .
Excellent location and facilities. It has 3 swimming pools, golf course, tennis courts, restaurant and is very close to the sea.
Hotel is peculiar - feels old and needs an update. The only restaurant is in front of the hotel and outdoor seating overlooks the driveway and reception portico.
Staff is pleasant but in the restaurant service is EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW.
Water was shut off for 6 hours and nobody bothered to notify us in advance or even at the time of shut off.
Overall a disappointing experience.
Very good service at all times during a 3-day stay. Always an abundance of drinks and food. Infused waters were great each day. I slept well. My room was nice. Close to a lot of places and the airport. Wish I could have done more swimming in all 3 pools.
The rooms and amenities were great! We actually were able to check in slightly early, which was convenient and the shuttle service helps save a few bucks here and there on taxis/Ubers. The various yard games are great and the pool areas are clean and provide three very different experiences.
Extremely convenient location. The free shuttle is great and most things are just a $5 uber rode away. The staff has been very kind and helpful. The grounds are great for wandering and the pools are clean and good for children.
The hotel was very nice and the staff was fantastic. All of the workers were ready and willing to help, which is not the case with some hotels. The rooms are very cozy and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place.
Nice concert venue but patrons are too stiff to party during the concert. You have to remain seated.
SHOR is an excellent restaurant on the grounds. Try the hummus and save room for the smores!
It's pretty cool here. The pool goes all the way to 9 feet and there's a waterslide too.
Room was clean but nothing special. Self parking was down a hill and very far from our room so wear your walking shoes. Personnel was very accommodating and attentive. Grounds were well kept.
It was great except the food on Friday's Jazz event, the spread was beautiful but the food was not heated in time to be served. Other than that all was great; grounds were perfect for the concert.
Nice service big resort nice employes expensive but worth it
Cool compound with lots of stuff to do. Dog friendly rooms and a dog friendly restaurant
The staff here is excellent, pool is awesome, great rooms.
Very nice! Self parking is quite far. Pull up front first if you have items to unload.
Hotel is very nice and very close to Fashion island.
Great location. Events and staff were amazing. Beautiful facilities.
I went to the hotel for a seminar about brand experience for a automotive manufacturing company. The location and parking was absolutely great. I did not stay in the rooms but the conference rooms were clean, spacious , and we'll equipped for presentations. Overall it was a great experience.
Visited a couple of friends that were staying here for a recent trip. The hotel is very nice with something for everyone. Ideal location with amazing views. The patio deck was very nice with various seating arrangements and lead to a walkway for what looked like it would make for a nice stroll. The room was nice and spacious. Not sure of they had a standard room or was upgraded but it was definitely a room that was comfy, cozy, and relaxing just like the rest of the property. It is also located in the near vicinity of Fashion Island which is a nice, upscale shopping center in the area.
A bit older hotel but in love that they gave out water for free.
Long lines at check in, no preferred line for Hyatt Diamond members. Small rooms with low ceilings, very old property.
