Beautiful place. The room was spacious and we'll appointed. Bathroom looked great and the view to the Back Bay was very picturesque. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I think the hallways to the rooms in the main building could use a touch up and more color. They are showing a bit of age. Just a minor nitpick though for an otherwise perfect stay.

Have been there several times. Parking is easy to access, food is good, but quiche potions tend to be small. Beverage service great. Staff helpful. I would recommend that location to anyone that asked

Front desk staff extremely rude. I was asking about an extra 250 dollars they charged me. Apparently there are a lot of extra fees I should have just known about. 30 dollars a night for parking. 29 dollars a night resort fee . I have no problem paying just be upfront. Shady shady shady

Was a wonderful experience! Rooms were great. Food was good. Bar and drinks were good. Kids enjoyed the many pools and fun stuff to do. Evening by the fire pit was 100! We had my little brothers rehearsal dinner there. Was set up wonderfully. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Everything went smoothly!

Great location, great concerts, horrible horrible horrible rooms. The rooms are old and out if date and smell stale and musty. Only staying here because I love Brian Culbertson, attending the concert. The entire hotel needs a serious remodel.

What a disappointing experience. We checked them out in less that 20 minutes. Very old and dated, was surprised at what we were being charged for what we were getting. I hope there was a more updated rooms some where. Sorry on this one.

I booked a room with 2 beds for a race. I was sharing the room with another runner. They put me in a room with a king bed. When I complained, they moved me to a room that was originally "out of service" that had 2 beds. Later I realized that the room missing a window pane but had a screen and a shade over it. To their credit, the manager credited half the room charge when I complained about the m missing window.

Room was very expensive and expected a lot. Right when we got here, first thing we noticed was a smell walking towards our room. We booked a suite. As we walked in to our room, I noticed one of the toilets wouldn't stop running. I thought lever might have been left down but it wasn't. I told the bellhop and he said he would send someone from "engineering". No one ever showed up. We called down an hour later to tell
Them and they said they would send someone. They never did. We told
Them a total of 4 times and they never fixed it. We had to sleep with the toilet going off all night. I get it's different bc of Covid but if you weren't ready to open up, they shouldn't have opened. Spent almost $400 on the room for one night. Never staying here again.

The room itself is very nice, especially the bed and pillows. Unfortunately the bathroom is not great and tub falls far short of their description of spa-like. Also they forgot to give me cookies upon arrival.

This hotel has the feel of a caribbean getaway. The grounds are absolutely stunning. There are three swimming pools on property which was great, as this gave us a choice when the main pool would get crowded. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and offer a nice balcony. I have zero complaints about this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again. It is close to Newport, Huntington, and Laguna beaches so the location is great. I felt the reviews and photos online did not do this place justice.

I was disappointed by this hotel. It started with trying to self park and the entrances being blocked by service trucks. When I told the front door staff they said I had to wait or pay $20 for valet. Front counter personnel were pleasant and efficient. Catering service was excellent. Food was great and servers were very efficient and pleasant. Although the catering was excellent, the on-site restaurant, SHOR was horrible. Got the Salmon. It was well cooked, but about half the size of a deck of cards. Thats fine, but that was accompanied by about 1/4 cup of grains and one asparagus spear cut into small chunks. For $28. I was probably hungrier at the end of the meal than when I started. Mixed drinks were $15/ea, so drink carefully. Hotel backs to the Newport back bay--so a great location to go for a run in the morning. Workout room was nice, but pretty busy. Rooms were fine. I would guess the building was from the 70s and the last remodel was 10+ years ago. It was comfortable, but unremarkable. My stay was book-ended by a very annoying experience trying to exit the parking lot. Even though I paid for parking with my room the key didn't work and the hotel staff didn't answer the phone to assist--despite multiple attempts to call. I realize these are very much first-world problems, but when you pay this much for a hotel, it should get the details right. This is not a place I would choose for a return visit, but if you don't eat at SHOR and valet park, your experience may be much better than mine.

For the price I was paying ($360) I felt that the bay view would have been great. The room was dark and smelled a bit musty, there were no elevators for reaching the second floor, the view was very obstructed, furniture was dinged up, carpets were worn and had some stains, and the room felt like what I would expect from a dated older hotel primarily used for low budget business stays (approximately $70-200 price point). I will say that they opulent entry into the front drive-up was very nice, the facilities looked good and the service was still top-notch level which is what I usually expect from staying at other Hyatt hotels. The manager let my wife and I leave our room for no charge and we were not met with any uncomfortable pushback on our decision to stay elsewhere.

This is a great Hyatt property. The executive golf course is super cool and the bike trails around the bay are awesome. The brunch.. when they have it is good... but for 90 bucks i expect eggs benedict and more than one omelet station. Staff is always great.

Stayed here for 5 nights for a friends wedding a couple of years ago. Fantastic stay, really nice rooms with huge comfy beds. Nice breakfast options from the cafe on a morning. The bar was really good and lively. Pools are great. Good location. Only drawback was a group of Oakley employees who were there for a convention, who were a bit noisy late at night.

Love the location of this hotel. My room is great and has a view of the bay out of my back window, with a little porch and table and chairs. One of the three pools is right outside my front door which is also awesome.

I've never stayed in the Newport area before but I love it. Fashion Island is right across the hotel, beaches are just quick drives away, and being on Jamboree Street allows quick access to other neighboring cities.

I only have two complaints about the hotel, and I feel they're pretty minor. My room is super great, the bed is comfy, it's updated and modern, but there is no sound proofing anywhere. My first night there were families on both sides of me and above me. Kids were being kids but I could hear it all. And if anyone snores, you can hear that all night as well. That was the problem my second night. And then this morning I could hear my neighbor's wake up call, so I got to be awake as well.

The other thing I don't particularly love is the self-parking. It's actually kind of a trek to get to my vehicle from my room and vice versa. Thankfully the weather is beautiful so it's not a bad walk, just further than I want to go every morning on my way out and on my way back in.

But like I said, I do feel those are small inconveniences. I really do like the style and comfort of my room, I had breakfast brought to my room in the morning which was great, and the staff I've come in contact with have been super friendly and helpful.

I have two more trips here before the end of the year is through and I'll most likely stay here again. I'll just bring ear plugs next time.

This hotel is a classy & classic place for travelers of all kinds. The accommodations are clean, fresh, modern & a minimalist dream. Very spacious rooms, spread out on a vast piece of property. The hotel itself has less than ten floors, which means no high towers or long elevator rides. The common areas are have an open feel unlike other hotels that are in a stuffy, enclosed building. Great room service & ammenities!

Rooms were nicely updated although building was older. We were in a balcony room overlooking one of the pools. Opened the balcony slider to the sound of airplanes every few minutes ad this is right in the flight pathbut nose was well abated with doors closed. We were there for a wedding and the arbor was beautiful with perfect outdoor space adjacent to a nice ballroom.

Top Notch Customer Service! Everyone and everything exceeded my expectations! Amazing water slide for kids, and plenty of amenities for adults. Even though there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area, the Hyatt Newport Beach is easily a destination in itself.

The carpet smells moldy and the rooms are so loud that it makes me wonder how much privacy we have. We can hear muffled conversations and the TV in neighboring rooms and everything that happens in the hallway sounds like it is in the room with me. The ceiling creaks so much when people above us walk that it sounds like they'll fall through. The staff was nice and the lobby and grounds are pretty although the parking is far and costs an additional $30 per night.

Was shocked to arrive and be told that its $25 A NIGHT to park your own car during your stay. Yes, you pay to stay and have to pay to park. Rooms are decent, drink prices in the lounge are outrageous, no complimentary breakfast. Want a bowl of oatmeal? $5 please. Their saving grace is that staff was very good.

I stayed in an area of the hotel that was like a horseshoe around the pool on the bottom level - it was very loud. I needed the complimentary earplugs the hotel put in the nightstand. Everything else about the hotel was 5 stars. In particular, the service I received from the staff was spectacular.

The Hyatt Newport Beach is an older hotel. The rooms are nice enough, but the walls are thin! There is a hotel restaurant otherwise It is about 3/4 miles to the nearest restaurant. They have a small fitness room, however it is complimentary, which is a plus.

The hotel is very well located, the facilities well preserved, the bad thing is that you have several charges that are not declared when you make the reservation, resort fee US $ 25.00 per day, parking US $ 27.00 per day and fees from the state of California.

Amazingly convenient location, very friendly staff, three pools, clean rooms, very fast room service. Only downside was the luggage arriving late after checkout but somewhat understandable considering it was the 5th of July and everyone was leaving. I'll be back .
