Got off to a bad start; 1. Tried to store my valuables (wedding rings, ID's, gun, cash...etc..) and the safe was not operable, had to wait on technical support to replace components on safe door...waited well over 45 min to get repaired. 2. TV had technical issues, had to get technical support again.... After all room issues were taken care of, really enjoyed the stay! The lazy river was very relaxing and enjoyed the swim up bar, staff was super friendly. Great firework show! Just when I thought everything was good, upon departure, valet misplaced my keys...waited over an hour while staff looked frantically for my keys....finally got out of there but not feeling the need to return..... Sorry but I feel that all the issues I had during my stay could have been prevented. Respectfully, Hyatt Member

- relaxing atmosphere with plenty for the kids to do from water activities to arts/crafts, movie night, smores, arcade games, etc. - food is very good, nice selection of restaurants to fit most appetites - clean facilities and grounds - secluded, no road noise or busy streets - air conditioner is controlled by room and unlike many hotels, it actually adjusts and cools - balconies are a decent size - child safety locks on balcony/patio doors - ample selection of cable channels - refrigerator and safe provided in room - ease of charging purchases to room instead of carrying a card/cash - friendly and attentive staff - pool and lazy river areas offer ample seating and shade
Absolutely fantastic! I could happily live there. The beds were SOOOO comfortable, I didn't want to leave the room....until I left the room. The place is gorgeous, the food is unparalleled, the staff provides the highest quality of service imaginable and there are tons of things to do.
We have stayed at Lost Pines 3 out of the last 4 years with my family. Each year service has dropped. This summer late July 2012 was a terrible stay. Room service would not clean the room if we were not out by noon. They would take 4 towels and leave 2. They never left extra toilet paper. I got tired of calling and requesting items that should have been left.
Food at the buffet has greatly deteriorated. Tried ordering of menu instead and received a luke warm dish with raw shrimp. They made me feel like I was wrong with my assumption of the dish.
I spent 15 minutes on line answering their survey about our stay. I received an apology email from their Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
Very lovely resort. Many ammentities, including bikes for everyone. Beauty is every where. Pricey restaurants but very good. Spa was great too! Service was pretty good every where we went on the property.
Very dated rooms, but staff was very helpful. The steakhouse was actually very delicious, and my husband said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had! We were wanting a quieter experience so spent our time at the spa pool (which is adult only). At one point a child did come there, but they were being quiet so it wasn't so bad, but not sure why they made the exception. Overall, if you're a couple looking for a quieter weekend this is probably not the resort for you, there are more kids than adults it seemed.
Hyatt Regency is a beautiful country club nestled in the beautiful back words of Austin Texas. The staff is family and the food is just wonderful if you pop on down to the bar. I cant wait to go back
I spent 3 nights at Hyatt lost pines and had the best vacation ever. We went in the middle of the week while the weather was a little funky so there weren't too many people there. The pool and lazy river were so much fun. There were free bicycles to ride, s'mores at the fire pits, and lots of wildlife. The place was njce, and we were able to relax the entire time. The staff was great, and The room was nice and simple with a balcony facing the pool. The craziest moment though was when we closed the balcony door and it locked while we were outside with no phones and barely dressed at 1am. I had to knock on my neighbors patio door, then climb over to walk through his room to the front desk. Crazy. I still had tons of fun. It's definitely a trip to remember.
Best NYE ever! We saw a travel article of the best places to go for New year's w/kids so we decided to try it out. We had a fun packed weekend with Smores, a carnival, fireworks to music, ice skating, fishing, horseback riding and more! Most people had kids. It's a pet friendly place as well. We are excited to come back soon! Staff was amazing! We stayed two days. It was a little on the pricy side but we had a good time and it is only a few hour drive.
This was a beautiful resort with a great family feel. The rooms are nice and clean and the bathrooms are very nice with a separate tub and shower. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and very helpful!
Beautiful setting, but doesn't quite live up to the grand aspirations. Lobby, decorations and bars were nice. Young and riendly service people but mixed results. They forgot our rollaway but quickly corrected. Asking for late checkout on a random Sunday got me 1 hour extra until noon when it was clearly going to be completely empty - so why so stingy, Hyatt? This was your chance to impress me. Instead I'll keep my status with the competition. Rooms and baths are very big but otherwise nothing special, and rather old. Walls are on the thin side, surprisingly, and you hear a lot at night. The hot shower came with little waves of scalding water followed by cool water... Nothing problematic but just not really great. (They just started renovating some rooms so things may improve next year.) The whole stay was quite expensive for what it is, and we had a "good" rate on a slow weekend. I knew to expect multiple taxes and the resort surcharge, adding a lot to the cost of 1 night. The additional charge for self parking cracked me up. Generally the execution doesn't live up to the marketing. "Llamas in the lobby" turned out to be 1 llama and it was outside. We missed Mrs Claus because she was scheduled at the same time and only read for a few minutes. The "trail of lights" is just lights everywhere (though they are pretty). All that said we enjoyed our time there with kids and everyone was Texas friendly. May go back if they're offering a deal.
Beautiful and quiet area. Has activities that you can do with your significant other or your family. Food is okay so far. Staff is friendly and the spa is top-notch
One of my favorite resorts! Beautiful property and fun for the entire family. I am also a meeting planner and this is a great location for an event, conference or wedding. The food and catering is to die for and don't forget your bathigsuit because they have one of the best lazy rivers in the US!!
Spent two days and one night attending a conference. Arrived at 1:15 and first meeting was at 1:30. No rooms were available and the lobby was packed with people trying to check in. I was told that I would recieve a text when my room was ready. Checked back with the front desk at 3:00 and got a room, never got a text message. For dinner that night, we ate at the Firewheel buffet. Two dinners and two drinks were over $100. Breakfast for two the next morning, $65. Valet parking is $35 a night, self park is $12 a night and a hike to get to. Beautiful property and packed with families.
Because of all the good reviews, my family decided to spend our Christmas here. The hotel activities are very limited during Christmas. It is definitely not a good time to visit. The room is obviously not a Hyatt standard. We will not come back because of the disgusting bathtub and dusty mirrors.
Throughly enjoying our stay so far. So much activities to do here (some free some not so free). A tip from me will be to bring a light jacket when you come, as it can get a little breezy and chilly. Also reserve activitied you will like to participate in. Great place with exceptional staff.
A beautiful luxurious retreat close to the Austin Airport what a beautiful feeling of Wilderness around ! The conference facilities, the room and the gym we're great and the food was AMAZING!
The rooms are clean, roomy, and mostly comfortable. I had to move to three different rooms during my stay due to maintenance issues. The air conditioner in the first room broke, repaired in about an hour, however, it stopped working again. The toilet ran constantly. The second room also had a running toilet, I feel the maintenance should be handled way better and customers should not have to have a toilet waking them up all night. The staff was friendly about the issues, but, no real compensation was offered for the issues. Keep in mind this stay totalled $2600. The bar has some friendly, on it staff. The cocktails are artisanal in nature and are good. There is food available, which is equivalent to what you may get at Kerbey Lane or a similar establishment. (I have been a chef for 23 years, I know food, and I really tend to be tougher on reviews about good food vs amazing food and all the in between.) There is one pool table, it is free, however very hard to get on. There is an awesomely cozy game room, think adult game room, for cards, or board games etc. There's a fireplace and a nice, not loud atmosphere. There is also a game room for those that prefer technology gaming. It is not free. You will need quarters. The shuffle puck table was broken the entire time I was there, which was disappointing. There is air hockey at least :). There is an on-site golf store to go along with the golf course. You get a free sleeve of Callaway golf balls with your room. There is an on-site spa. It is higher priced than many I have seen. I did not partake of the services, but, many people do. There is a very nice heated pool and hot tubs. It is definitely worth a swim. There are bicycles available. Which I find to be a very nice touch considering the natural beauty and animals the resort has. Animals! There are two alpacas, four goats, two mini horses, and some longhorns. There is a higher end restaurant called Stories upstairs from the bar area. My friend and I dined here on our last evening. The waitstaff were terrific and patient with questions. The menu includes scallops, to which I immediately asked if they were actual scallops and not some less expensive substitute. The waiter was able to come back with an affirmative and even where they were sourced from. I ordered them and they were truly well cooked, not over seasoned, wonderful scallops. The aged steak was very good, as well. They do a perfect Pittsburgh style rare steak that is something I would go back to specifically order. The risotto was better than most places I've had it in Texas. The mashed potatoes were excellent, asparagus not over cooked, and the bread pretty good. This is definitely a pricy place, but, I would pay here again. At the end of dinner, the chef came out and talked with us about the places we've both cooked and similar travel stories. He was personable and definitely had pride in his work. This dinner was the hands down best thing about this resort. There are large fire pits to sit around in the evening with your beer or cocktail. There is smoking areas with places to throw your butts away. Dogs are welcome here. There are horseback trails, mountain biking and hiking areas. Rooms come with Starbucks coffee and Tazo teas. Room service has multiple choices including a crave menu that is less expensive. On the whole the room service is not as expensive as some places. Overall, this was a good place. I feel customer service dealing with maintenance issues could be better. I also think for the cost here, the maintenance should not be this poor. Everything here is designed to suck your wallet dry, but, they do at least offer a couple things that don't make it feel like that the whole time. A free game room would go along way, a couple more pool tables, etc. Also, with the maintenance and upkeep issues, I have included a picture of a large branch that fell from a tree coming literally within two feet of braining my best friend. I watched it fall and she luckily moved quickly. Phew! More photos to come of the premises.
This resort blows my expectations out of the water. Quite expensive $$$ Clean rooms Fresh sheets daily Full room service Pool with lazy river Starbucks in room every morning Preference alone, but the grounds are quite large and take 15 minutes to walk end to end. Spa on location
Great hotel, taking a star off for poor room design. I had a first floor room and major rains came through. My room ended up flooding and all my items that I had against the outside wall was completely soaked. Everything else about the experience was great though, so only one star off.
Great place. Probably better suited for families, but we went as a group of 4 adults and had a nice time. Restaurants we ate at had good service, tasty food and strong drinks. Pool was a fun time. Had a bunch of extra amenities as well, like smores each night around fire. Felt very safe during these Covid times as well.
Weather was not cooperating Snow storm so some activities were limited the staff here are pros and do a great job. You will not need to ask them to go the extra mile it's what they do
Tucked well into the quiet woods this is a warm getaway from life. We have used this Hyatt all times of the year for both corporate and personal entertainment.
The poolside food was delicious. Never attended the restaurant. Covid placed a factor in that. The big pool was disgusting the whole stay. Grounds were dirty. Outside our patio had rocks with a rusted metal piece sticking up. Hazard. Rooms are dated but nice. Inside lobby was nice. None of the staff that walked around acknowledged us at all. Kids loved the lazy river though! Probably won t stay again.
I was visiting a guest with whom I had dinner. He didn't have a reservation, but they made space for us within half an hour. Service was good, food was great as well. In the dining area in stories was a bit loud, but it was nice all the same
This place is fantastic, if you want to get away from it all, but be pampered. Unfortunately we had a winter storm warning and we're sequestered inside. Definitely come in warm weather.
Location is fine, if you only want to stay on the resort. Otherwise, Bastrop is a 15-20 minute drive. The room was nice but not as clean as it should have been and could have been more luxurious. Service was subpar some staff went out of their way to help with disability. Other staff seemed inconvenienced when asked for special assistance. Also concierge was misleading on the phone versus what was actually available for a special event.
Beautiful resort located outside of Austin in Bastrop. I stayed here for a conference and found the food to be excellent and the staff to be welcoming and helpful. Take advantage of the water park and the fire pits!
Starting to show it's age but, still a really nice place. Huge pool with large lazy river and water slide. Adult only pool area. Swim/float up bar on the lazy river. Super friendly staff.
Not worth the price!!! Run down. Beds are awful my husband and I (both in our 30's) woke up after one night in the bed and felt like we had the $&@$! beat out of us. Thank god we were only there 2 nights. Cost of food for 2 ppl for 2 days (no breakfast just poolside lunches, dinner and 2 alcoholic beverages) $300. Not of the activities are all care and excessively expensive. The bikes are painfully old and not adjustable and we found most the paths were pedestrian only. We got a decent rate on the room $188/ night and the grounds were beautiful for Texas. Suggestion if you go take a cooler with food for at least breakfast and lunches and any alcohol you plan to consume. Also bring your own equipment bikes, fishing gear, first aid kit (my son's feet were torn up in the kiddie pool everyday). However, better bang for your buck go to an all inclusive in Mexico or carribean.
Attended New Years weekend wedding of a relative. During the reception a couple of purses went missing. Night staff gave varying stories regarding previous incidents. Response from them didn't seem overly concerned. Stolen phone had been shut off and the next day tracking showed to be in some back area and then left the premises. Also pointed out to checkout staff pictures of cobwebs in my room.
I hated almost every minute I was here. If it rains, and you don't drink, I hope you like sitting in your room watching t.v., because that was all there was to do. Way too crowded in the common areas, because while the place appears large, there really are only a few spots where there is anything to do, and even then its like, one pool table and shuffleboard. Nothing is as described on the website. NOTHING! Also there is country music blaring almost everywhere on the compound. I went with a conference group, or else I would've demanded my money back and left after the first 8 hours there. I will say though, that the staff is AMAZING. Extremely polite and even more helpful. The dinner wait staff was probably the best I've ever seen. They were pretty much the opposite of the place they were working for. If this place wasn't so expensive, it may not have been so bad, but the basic room we had was marked at a max rate of $895/ night, and was seriously only a basic room with a kingsize bed. The place is just a joke. A con, rather.
