If you want to enjoy the hill country outside Austin/Bastrop area of Texas, this is the place. Super convenient location from COTA for the races. Restaurants on site are top notch and although we didn't get a chance to golf, the course looks amazing. They have a 5 star Spa as well. Not mentioned on their site is the Bass pond near the hotel that is very fishable. The "Driveway" from the highway is 3 miles of lush hill country flora and fauna. Seclusion is paramount with this property and it pays off. Will be staying with them in the future. The hotel wings are VERY linear and it does give a "Shining" kind of vibe to those who have seen the picture.

I evacuated from the path of Hurricane Laura last week with my 90 year old mother. My husband joined us a day later. It was a very stressful time for us and the staff at Lost Pines was awesome. They were welcoming, friendly, and very sympathetic to our distress. They went out of their way to help us navigate a difficult experience. My mother lives in a retirement community and has been basically locked down since March. She absolutely loved everything about the resort and wanted to stay longer. The rooms were spotless and nicely redone. The food was excellent and reasonable. I was very impressed with the seriousness with which mask wearing was enforced. Everyone had on a mask at all times when out of their rooms and walking about the property. I have never written a hotel review before although I have stayed many lovely places. I am just so grateful for the compassionate way we were treated and felt that kudos were in order.

Great resort hotel with all of the traditional amenities. Be sure to bike around their property and go for a lounge in the lazy River, which can be a bit dirty on a busy weekend ( that's why the 4/5 rating). Protip: the gift shop serves queso all night, but you have to ask at the front desk for it.

For a resort that very much so markets itself as a family resort. There is absolutely no childcare services available for children under 3. This means parents of toddlers need to travel with a babysitter or contact an agency in order to get in a work out or go to dinner alone. The beds were uncomfortable and I felt some of aspects of their facilities were dated.

There is some controversy over the Pines actually being LOST. Allegedly, there are several pine trees right outside the front lobby, and scattered hither and fro, throughout the resort area!

This place is a family favorite of ours. We come here at least once a year or more. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds. They treat you like family. I really appreciate the small touches like gluten free options at the pool, s mores, and restaurants. And the lazy river is my personal fave! You won t be disappointed.

Great rooms and service. Breakfast buffet is delicious but expensive. The whole place is all about family (with children) activities, so don't expect lots of date activities or things for singles to do.

The furnishings and rooms are dated and need to be redone. The spa was nice. If I could give the restaurants in this resort less than one star I would. The first night the waitress was super rude. The following night we had reservations for the fine dining fake bouggee restaurant for my daughters 21 birthday. We arrived 15 minutes early and were rudely greeted by two young girls who lacked every customer service skill ever. They even mentioned something about closed toe shoes as I had on a sundress and sandals and my daughter had on summer wear also. This is a vacation resort! We ending up eating at the downstairs bar. The waiters there were great and the food was subpar and expensive ! I feel somewhat trapped in this resort with that crazy drive in and obligated to stay on property to eat. If I return it will be for the spa. Also if you want quiet don t choose this place.

Property is laid out nicely but only 2 restaurants open and food was very average, very limited menu. Few wine selections. The bed was not very comfortable, pillows were abysmal. Both my partner and I left with many more aches than we arrived with. The room door and windows to the patio had not been cleaned in a LONG time. Had a large spiders nest and a bug stuck in a web in the upper corner. For the cost of this hotel, it did fall very short of expectations. I have stayed at the sister property in San Antonio and it was muck nicer, larger food offerings and muck cleaner.

I can't say enough good things about this resort! The rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds we immaculate, and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We were so impressed with the about of things to do with our kids. They have bikes for adults and kids, even with training wheels and helmets. There is a good playground for young kids, a soccer field, basketball hoop, frisbee golf, gagaball court, hiking trails, horseback riding, and that's just what we experienced!

The pool is large, and you have to really watch your kids (which is probably a good thing on a family vacation), but not so big that you feel overwhelmed. Water slide (must be 42" tall), lazy river (multiple tube sizes available), water volleyball and basketball, a splash pad, and plenty of places to be in the shade around the pool.

The food at the Flamewheel restaurant is above average for a buffet, and kids 5 and under eat free. Also plenty of healthy options there, and if you cannot find what you are looking for, we found the staff very accommodating to get something upon request.

Hyatt Lost Pines Resort knocked it out of the park for our family!

I attended a professional event. Service was excellent and employees were friendly and helpful. Didn't enjoy the breakfast very much, my preference being along the lines of bacon and eggs, but the food served during lunch was excellent.

I was here for a trade show. This was an excellent venue for a conference. The food provided was also very good! My only complaint is that at a professional conference, you have up keep the coffee flowing at all times.

The greatest thing about the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort is the warmth and friendliness of the Philippine Interns they have brought there. These are some of the most humble, honest and happy people in the world who have spent, what is to them, a fortune to travel around the world to learn to be hostesses, chefs, and hospitality workers. We have taken many of them in to our home and they give us great joy on a daily basis.

The hotel is magnificent with it's water park, setting right on the Colorado River with a disc golf course and basketball court, and they have a wide range of activities every day. Highly recommended!

Lots to do, and good restaurants. They sanitized the tubes for the lazy river during Covid-19, and they have wired ethernet for gaming, along with wi-fi for everything else! (Please keep the wired ethernet.)

Took 83 year old mom to Lunch for her birthday. the only restaurant out of 3 opened at lunch. The food & drinks were way over priced for what you got. I couldn't eat my shrimp tacos because the shrimp was coated with too much cajun spice. It is a bar so it was too noisy. But the property is beautiful, a real top notch resort. There is valet parking. I've been here many times for lunch but they use to have the downstairs restaurant open for lunch, it was pricy too but very good menu with great atmosphere. Guess it's just opened for dinner now.

This place is like heaven on earth for families and couples. We've stayed here once on a romantic get-away and it was divine. The canopy of trees which surrounds this location, coupled with the Texas limestone features, whisked us away to a tranquil place found only in romantic novels. The beds were comfy and rooms were Hyatt-clean. The resort now features a small 5-acre water park with a very nice lazy river. The food at the buffet is fantastic and while the resort could stand to improve its night-life, it might not be such a bad thing to retire to the room a bit early with my wife. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. From service to amenities, this resort is 5-star.

An OK Hotel set in a beautiful backdrop. Otherwise fairly average and does not justify the price. For this amount, better places can be enjoyed. Web offers dining options but only one restaurant was open. We went in January, so it's reasonable to expect reduced offerings, not a big deal. Not making that known until arriving, big problem. I'm sure many love this place, but its not for me.

Very nice, lots of great people work here that really want to make you feel at home. They provide lots of activities to keep those here not involved in conference activities.
Definitely a place to try.

Nice place to stay but there are some drawbacks. Self park is an annoying distance from the buildings. All of the catered event food was terrible. Beds were comfortable and room would get very cold which was awesome! Internet was good and included in resort fee. It wasn't bad but I thought it could be cleaner. Golf course was really fun! Lots to do around the resort and they have a great lazy River. This place is a great escape from the rat race.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Lost Pines. While there I did an activity with my 2 grandkids. Do NOT do the Hyatt Hidden Treasure Trek. It is the biggest rip off. For $25 per child we got one GPS unit that quit working while we were looking for the hidden "treasures" and we had to go get a replacement. We all met in the lobby area and the young lady explained how to use the GPS unit, gave us a book of clues, and told us we were supposed to have our pictures made but the person that does that wasn't there that day so if we wanted a picture we could just take our own with our cell phone. For $25 per kid. I spent $50 to walk around and read stuff. Big deal. I could have done that for free. It should be free. There is no $ value in this. I have called the resort and spoke to someone at the activities desk and was told I would receive a call back from the management. NO CALL. How's that for customer satisfaction??? Afterwards we did the Creative Corner. Guess what, THAT was free. We did the Stargazing. That was just $5 per person and was worth the cost. The man that conducted this was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful telescope. The room was fine and the food and bar service was good. But I don't want to give a good rating because no one in the management side has bothered to return my call.

The review above was posted on Friday, August 7, 2015. Today, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 I received a call from a very nice gentlemen from Lost Pines. After a short discussion he was apologetic and said he had credited my bill for the cost of the Treasure Trek. I appreciated his call and feel he did everything he could to rectify the problem. Therefore, I have changed my rating from 1 star to 5 Star.

Family has been going here for years, have not had a bad experience once. Everything is stellar, rooms are nicely decorated and spacious, food options are always great and staff never fails to be pleasant or accomadating. My singular complaint is that the beds are rather stiff, but other than that, it is an excellent experience all around.
