Hyatt Columbia Harbison Review

The roof in my room started falling in from the water coming in. I called the front desk and they moved me one room over. I can hear the water running down the inside of the walls. Its 3AM

Old and not well maintained. We arrived late after 11 hours of driving exhausted. Found black mold in the shower in the morning. We have stayed at other Hyatt Places and had wonderful experiences. This hotel is not up to the high standards we have come to expect based on our stays at other Hyatt Place hotels.

Clean room. Staff was friendly.

Would have given 5 stars if the HDMI ports worked on the TV. I was told by maintenance that they are 17 years old and we'd be lucky if we had a room where they worked. So, don't expect to hook up a Xbox or laptop to the TV.

The staff was friendly and professional. The room was comfortable and clean. The morning breakfast was decent. Overall very nice. Would stay again.

Plz don t book this hotel!!!!!!! Beware of hairs on bed before you check into the room... housekeeping is terrible there !!!! The halls smell bad as well... and it s very old building and very dirty!!!!!! No more Hyatt place!!!!!

I honestly don't remember much of my stay. I caught the flu during my trip and was holed up in my room. The staff was very friendly, caring honestly. They were very thoughtful of my situation.

Hyatt is clean and comfortable with a friendly staff. The breakfast is generous with lots of options. I've stayed here several times when visiting family and would gladly stay again.

Mostly satisfactory. Carpet was stained in our room and the toilet handle was broken... but otherwise everything was great and the staff was wonderful.

Nice clean rooms with 24/7 room service. Not to mention a bar and restaurant in the hotel. One of my favorite places ive been to.

I stayed here Dec. 22-23. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were very kind and friendly! They serve hot breakfast to-go and have cold breakfast offerings as well. Very nice stay for the price

Lovely spacious rooms, clean, aesthetic, and good amenities. The only downside was we waited a few minutes to check in because nobody waa around at the front desk. But that wasnt that big of a deal.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting! Right when we walked into our suit all we could smell was cigarette smoke. There was no toilet paper, the bathroom smelled terrible! There were cockroaches in the hallways. Everything about our experience was awful. We tried to switch rooms but none where available so we just left. Will never go back to the Hyatt in Harbison.

Beautiful hotel with all the amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel clean through out. Bed is very comfortable and supportive. Breakfast buffet is really good with lots to choose from. Nice swimming pool area. Large TV in room and comfortable furniture. I enjoyed my stay . Good job folk's!

The hotel customer service has been great so far we have not had any bad customer service and I like the hotel.

Clean hotel, spacious for multiple guests and nice breakfast. Perfect for our quick overnight drop-in.

Nice rooms, fully equipped, clean. Ours was a 2 full bed room with pull out couch. Had refrigerator, really everything we could ask for.

The service was great and the location was exceptional, wish there were more in the city of Columbia, SC

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel due to Little League Allstar Tournament. From the time we arrived Thursday until we left on Saturday we had exceptional service. From moving quickly to check us in; assistance with grandchildren at breakfast and such servant attitudes. Would highly recommend for service and location. Can take many back roads from hotel and move about Columbia/Irmo without getting on the Interstate.

This place is amazing! It is nicely located to lots of shopping and eating places. The staff is super friendly and the free breakfast is awesome. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are fresh and clean. We always stay in aKing Bed room on the high floor and always ask for the same room because I love the view when the sun sets. Cracker Barrel is conveniently located just across the parking lot. There is nothing negative I can't say about Hyatt Place! Absolutely love it!

Excellent rooms, and the staff was genuinely friendly. I did have two minor issues: the wake up call did not work (I figured the first morning I just subconsciously hung it up, but the last morning I confirmed that it factually didn't function). Secondly, the outlets weren't well placed. There was a desk in the room but nothing to plug my laptop into. The sofa sectional had an outlet nearby but I had to unplug one of the lights to use it.

That all being said, I would absolutely book here again.

Very nice clean place to stay. Friendly staff. Convenient to shopping, food, and Interstate. Room was very clean and smelled really nice.

For breakfast, the scrambled eggs were done perfectly, and they served a kale and grain seasoned dish to go with the eggs. That was so delicious, like nothing I ever had before. What a nice change to see such healthier items on a menu!!

A very clean hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very nice; clean and spacious. Breakfasts are really delicious. The fitness room was nice, but does not have any weights, just various machines. My only gripes are the slow elevators and the wifi that tends to boot me off every so often.
The hotel is close enough to the nearby restaurants and easy access to the interstate.

Great facility with great staff and clean rooms. Amenities are as promised and location is ideal for mall and vehicle shopping.

I would like to begin by saying the young man that checked us in was great!. The rest of the staff was awful, we requested a late check out due to our long drive home and was told we would be charged for an additional day regardless of us being Hyatt members. Needless to say We will not stay Hyatt anymore.

WARNING! This hotel does not accept Prepaid Debit/Credit Cards such as Bluebird. It was SO nice to know this information after booking/paying for the room in advance and then driving several hours from Florida. There is a $100 security deposit, and you cannot use a Prepaid Card or EVEN cash for that. Fortunately, there are many other hotel chains that do not discriminate against working class folks. I do not understand why this hotel has to play hardball, considering the pandemic and the accompanying economic downfall.

For the business travel this is not the place. Breakfast is served too late . No coffee is set out for the early traveler. Service is BELOW par. The breakfast bar when you do have the time is lacking in food. The fire alarm is more like an alarm clock and the water is off at least once a week. For business trip avoid this place . For a family trip its ok.

Nice and comfortable hotel i enjoyed the proximity to Cracker Barrel & the bar inside the hotel. I didn't eat the breakfast but it looked good.

Fantastic location, comfortable rooms, great service

The room was nice and the hot breakfast was better than expected. My chief complaint lies in the associate that set up our reservations for my three coworkers and I. We sent in CC authorization forms that were somehow "never submitted", forcing the employees and I to use our personal credit cards to put on file for the hotel. This places needless financial strain on most individuals and sets the tone for a poor experience, despite the rest of the stay being a generally pleasant experience.

The keys was not working properly and we went out and we were Knocking on front door. It took a while for receptionist to open the front door. It was just at 10.50pm. if it was late night, than even problem. And waiting outside was not good feeling. We tried keys in side door it did not work and even at front door keys did not work.

Honestly it's overrated. No microwave. Room service sucks(slack).sheets had blood on them plus long hair on the sheets.no rags in the room upon arrival,only towels!

Passed through the area for work. Must say that the hotel is safer than most of the areas around Columbia. For this particular location, when I arrived, there was not anything major that I endured. I would say that if I passed thru again, I would stay again.

I stay here a lot when visiting family and I'm always treated like royalty. Rooms are beautiful,beds are excellent, service is great!

The pool was live when we arrived they had drinks, and a nice crowd in the pool playing Marco Polo! The Hallways was a lil loud the first night but, we slpet through it! Housekeepers are loud and knocked every morning at 9 a.m. even with the sign on the door saying do not disturb!!!! We work nights wasn't cool being awakened every morning!!!

Stay somewhere else!!! It's NOT worth the money!! Front desk is RUDE (except for one lady). The "Starbucks" isn't really a Starbucks and the lady that runs it doesn't know how make anything but coffee, basically. I stayed on the Hi Floor and also rented another room. Neither were as clean and nice as other hotel rooms. Wish I wouldve just stayed somewhere cheaper, would have better service and cleaner room!!! Also, don't have your family wait in the parking lot for you to come down (total of 6 mins) because they will be told they can't stand around in the Park lot. So, come down all at once or wait in the car (and pray they don't knock on your window and tell you, you can't do that either)

Came for a business trip. When I arrived the sheets on my bed were dirty. When the staff changed them, the new ones were dirty too. They changed them again. Then a few days in my stay I started to develop a rash which progressively got worse. The day after the rash started I found bugs in my bed, which likely caused the rash. They changed my room, but in the morning when I talked to the manager, she was worried about "confirming" that there were bugs even though I caught one and brought it to the front desk. I told her about the sheet situation, then she said she has to confirm I was telling the truth by speaking with the attendant who checked me in. Only once she confirmed it did she offer apologies and a solution. The room was not dirty, but I wouldn't call it clean. The second room was much better, but I still have a rash on my face, neck, and ears.

Room was comfortable and spacious. Breafast had a good selection of items. I enjoy staying at Hyatt Place hotels because my whole family, 2 adults and 4 kids, can all sleep in 1 room. What other hotel has rooms that sleep 6? Not many, that's why I choose Hyatt Place hotels.

Jose and Traci at the front Dest are fantastic customer service representatives. They both made sure my coworker and I had everything we needed and knew the locations of the hotel amenities. This location is very nice, fast WiFi, clean and comfortable. The building is designed well too very quiet rooms and no matter where you park around the building you are basically the same distance from the elevator. The only thing we didn t have that some hotels do have is a microwave in the room but that may just be our room style and there is one or two microwaves in the dinning are Thank you Jose and Traci I wouldn t have posted this review if it wasn t for your great service!

I love this hotel!!! I just wish that the breakfast had more of a variety and I wish the rooms microwaves but I do love this place!!!! The beds are extremely comfortable and the hotel smells so clean lol

What a fantastic hotel! I m going to give it 5 stars even though you wouldn t normally call the Hyatt Place a 5-star hotel . The reason I am giving it 5 stars is because it is excellent at what it sets out to accomplish.

The hotel is modern, clean, spacious and relatively inexpensive. For a great price you can get a spacious room with two beds and a pull-out sofa with room for my family of 5. This is a big deal when we travel because it is super convenient to avoid splitting my family into two rooms. Not to mention that we often simply can t afford two separate rooms when we travel.

I love this hotel and what you get for the money. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, the breakfast is more than adequate and the beds are comfortable. There aren t many other hotels that can match the Hyatt Place when you factor in what you get for the price.

Upon arrival, I attempted to check in and informed their hotel was overbooked for the night. Alex informed me that because I booked through a third party, I was the one to get bumped. Having been a travel agent myself, I understand while this shouldn't happen, it does and really it wasn't a huge deal. I asked her if there was anything that could be done since I was traveling solo with three small children. Instead of being hospitable, she just kept saying that a manager called everyone earlier in the day. This is when the problem went from acceptable to unacceptable. I never received a call or even a message from anyone informing me my room wouldn't be available. It's not my fault but it is my problem. If you can't be empathetic for travelers who get bumped, find a new career as hospitality isn't for you. This could and should have been handled differently. Instead, Alex was rude and spoke down to me that a manager called everyone earlier in the day. I ended up staying at Hilton at the same exit and they had far better customer service and hospitality! Highly recommend booking elsewhere if you are able to.

One elevator broken made for super long elevator waiting times. Pool closes at 10 pm.

The location is close to a lot of places so it is a good cebtral location. Service was good they had a little trouble checking us in but everything was OK. The bed doesn't have the fluffy blankets like I like when I stay at hotels but there is a fridge a nice size TV.

Awesome breakfast with fresh fruit! Clean, nice room. A little expensive but worth it.

Huge rooms and a fairly nice breakfast. Quick check in and the hotels is near a bunch of restaurants. They have a small coffee and snacks restaurant in the hotel.
