Upon arrival, I attempted to check in and informed their hotel was overbooked for the night. Alex informed me that because I booked through a third party, I was the one to get bumped. Having been a travel agent myself, I understand while this shouldn't happen, it does and really it wasn't a huge deal. I asked her if there was anything that could be done since I was traveling solo with three small children. Instead of being hospitable, she just kept saying that a manager called everyone earlier in the day. This is when the problem went from acceptable to unacceptable. I never received a call or even a message from anyone informing me my room wouldn't be available. It's not my fault but it is my problem. If you can't be empathetic for travelers who get bumped, find a new career as hospitality isn't for you. This could and should have been handled differently. Instead, Alex was rude and spoke down to me that a manager called everyone earlier in the day. I ended up staying at Hilton at the same exit and they had far better customer service and hospitality! Highly recommend booking elsewhere if you are able to.
