Hyatt Columbia Harbison Review

This hotel seemed really nice when I entered the lobby, but upon entering my room for the night, I noticed that there was a fine layer of white dust covering everything in the room. When I went to discuss this with the hotel clerk, they said it was because the room had been renovated, and that the handyman had left it like that. He also left no locks on the bathroom door. Also all of the wallpaper in the hallway had been partially ripped out. And there was some sort of strange mold growing underneath the ripped out wallpaper. I feel as though if I had come at a later time when the renovations have been 100% complete, my stay would have been much better.

Elevator out of order, ice machine out of order, pool closed, nowhere to sit out front, ripped furniture in the lobby. Don't stay here.

This was my second time staying at this hotel and it was every bit as nice as the first. Staff is very courteous and the rooms are well cleaned and comfy

World of Hyatt offers free breakfast, No decaf coffee at free breakfast unless I wanted to pay for it and black, overipe bananas. Woman in Nike t-shirt, who presumably worked at hotel was rude. Dani tried to fix coffee situation but could not "open" espresso machine. Coffee was cold, grits were cold. Room was fine.

The breakfast was not good. The elevators are very slow.

Room was spacious but seemed kind of dated. The beds were full size not queen! Rather no frills hotel. Good place to stay if you're passing through town.

For looking for a hotel in the last minute they were very nice and let our family use the pool until we could check in and it was a nice room to for $140.a night but worth it

It was a nice place to stay. Comfortable beds, spacious room. The room took several hours to cool down and the breakfast not worth the extra charge, but the pool was clean and really nice.

Clean and updated rooms. I will stay again. Staff very friendly and the hot breakfast was really good.

Been here 4 nights and enjoyed every moment. There should be more drinking water supplies to the rooms every day.

Rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. Beds are comfy. Staff is very attentive and personable. Breakfast is great!

Went there for a sleep study and couldn't sleep well with the birds chirping outside the window starting @ 12 midnight and they didn't stop, they need better sound proof windows I also heard trucks rolling by on the highway, tried turning the AC up to drown out the sound to no avail.

The check-in process is ridiculously slow. You should not have the check in person waiting on customers for food and answering the phone and checking people in

Excellent place to stay - rooms were very comfortable and large - breakfast much better than other continentals. I recommend to anyone.

We got there around 2 and there were no rooms and we found out we had two reservations. One with the 800 number and one with the hotel. The front desk clerk was not helpful. She didn't just cancel her reservation, she said we had to call 800 number and cancel. She, however, did not know the number. It took my husband 20 minutes to cancel. The next morning, we requested a late check out and the said they don't normally do that but they would get back to us. They never got back to us. Disappointing.

We received the same excellent service we usually receive at Hyatt Place but I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because of some obvious wear and tear on the room and public spaces, ( broken lock on bathroom door, broken toilet handle, scratched up walls in elevator, etc.) We will definitely stay here on our next trip.

The front desk agent that checked us in was great! Being a Hyatt member means absolutely nothing! We requested a late check out and was told we would be charged for another night. Scratch Hyatt from my list! Staff wasn't friendly or accommodating .

Good experience. I would recommend trying to improve the sound proofing between rooms. I could hear the other guest's music in the room beside me and they weren't playing it that loudly.

Needs just a little tlc, but overall it's quite nice.

Worst hotel ever! General Manager is disrespectful with no customer service skills. Room was gross. Sink had had standing water and dirty rag in sink. Phone did not work. Musty smell in hallways. TV remote barely worked. Paid for a king received a double employee said I would receive comp. GM refused. GM was disrespectful and escalated the situation for no reason. DON'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL!

There were two elevators but one working. Then no working elevators. Room -tiles in shower weren't as clean as other places we've stayed. No microwave in the room. Overall the stay was decent and staff extremely helpful.

The hotel is nice but the lady who helped us at the front desk and the General Manager was not very helpful. Our car was vandalized in the hotel parking lot. The window was broken as well as 3 other cars that we know of. The hotel did not offer any type of compensation for our stay. Needless to say, this was the most expensive stay I've ever had at a Hyatt Place. We paid over $100 for the night including the $500 deductible we have to pay to our insurance to get our car fixed. Beware if you stay at this hotel because you may be the next target.

I'm surprised there was no housekeeping as needed. I get not daily, but all other adjacent hotels were offering upon request. staff did the best they could with only 1 person on at a time. decor is dated but clean. this would be at least a 4 if some sort of room cleaning were offered. that really spoiled the stay. if other hotels were doing the same [no service] it might be more understanding.

Nice business area and front lobby. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Called to relieve forms via email but never received them. Had to followup in person.

I needed to get an internet connection and it was very easy to get connected.

!!!Excellent!!! The customer service is beyond awesome. I was traveling with my 9 month old. I needed someone to stand with my luggage cart while I parked and they did it with a smile. Not only that but the lady at check in called someone to bring my things up without me even asking. That is what I call wonderful service!!!! And the room is amazing, super clean and spacious. And the air works perfect!!! Not to mention this comfortable bed covered in soft pillows. This will be my go to when traveling here.

I did not spend the night although I did see the rooms and they look very nice but I met a friend there at the bar. The bar itself leaves A LOT to be desired. Columbia doesn't have night clubs or "bar hangouts" that close to this hotel. You have to travel a little. The selections of beer and mixed drinks is very limited and rather expensive. Unless you like tequila shots or JD straight you're going to be dissapointed.

Check in was quick and the room was very nice. Although it would have been nice to have a microwave in the room.

Easy check in. People are nice. Good location right off highway. The only thing is that is odd about here is that the towel rack is in the shower. So when I turned on the water the showerhead was aimed all the way to the back and got towels wet.

Overall a nice place. Free breakfast in the mornings. Bathroom was small but the rooms were ok.

Was there for a professional meeting. Meeting room was wonderful and the staff really went out of their way to tend to our needs

I booked this room to add an extra day to a trip. The staff at check in was very helpful. My room was on the 6th floor. There is a sofa, work station/desk, closet, refrigerator and 2 double beds. The beds are very comfortable and I slept great. There are onsite amenities such as food and drinks. There is also a cracker barrel restaurant next door. It would be nice if they provided bottled water in the rooms, even for a fee.

A solid choice. Impeccable customer service and superior housekeeping.

I was VERY impressed by my stay at the Hyatt place hotel. Not only was check in super easy but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and nice and cool which was nice after a hot day at the Zoo. Bathroom was a tad small but the rest of the room made up for it. I have two small kids and it was plenty of room for us adults and the kiddos. The breakfast was AMAZING! So good and lots of options. Pool was very clean, and the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful overall we had a great time and would definitely book again.

Great hotel and staff. Breakfast is always hot and hearty. Grits, eggs, bacon, biscuits. If you leave hungry that is your fault. Great location near Harbinson but far enough away that you are not in the busy part of Harbinson.

Visit Hyatt Place Columbia in April for our annual golf tournament for 10 yrs. now. We love the location, staff and the accommodations.

The only hotel in South Carolina that I rather stay at. That says a mouthful. Enjoyed the stay. Had no issues at all. Very clean.

When I walked in the lobby, I said I think I'm in the wrong hotel because it was too nice for the price I paid! Incredibly spacious room with a unique layout. Lots of mirrors. TV swivels to face you wherever you'd like it to go. Super friendly staff.

Gourmet breakfast included with your stay. Great room layouts with excellent media center.

Great place to stay, room are nice and clean staff are warm and friendly only thing negative I can say is no microwave in the room and tiny fridges!

We had an amazing experience here. There were a few bus loads of guests while we stayed but everything seemed to work well. They had discounted tickets to the zoo which was an added benefit to the stay.

Room really nice front desk staff breakfast tasted good but the breakfast area was messy and they ran out of a lot of breakfast options

Excellent staff. Well appointed, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good as well, but no bacon! Pets are welcome here, but the fee seems a bit high. At any rate, would definitely stay here again if in the area.

I stayed here in a business work trip and was very pleased. I loved that my room had a separate "living section". I didn't feel like I was stuck in a hotel room. My only issue is I wish there was a microwave in the room!

Everything was very clean. The staff was great and there is even a pokestop for Pokemon go!
