Legendary Montpelier food co-op with the best selection of provisions in town. Great craft beer selections too.

Neat, clean and well lit grocery store which was perfect as a "farewell Vermont" stop on our drive back down to New York. They stock limited quantities of craft beer from both Lawson's as well as The Alchemist, in addition to the usual suspects. Further, there is an entire section of Vermont-made products in a section near the cashiers, from cheeses and maple syrup to wooden crafts. Friendly staff to boot.

A wide selection and variety of organic, healthy foods. A hot bar and salad bar, with new foods on the menu every day of the week (plus the option to order several different dishes to be prepared right then and there sandwiches, quesadillas, soups, and so on). A small diner-y type section to eat in, with free Wi-Fi. An all-natural soap product section (soaps, shampoos, conditioners, face washes, oils, lip balms, bath salts, etc, etc.). A wide range of supplements and vitamins. A beneficial membership program. Quite clean and well-presented. Overall, very nice place.
(However, one time there was a living caterpillar in my sister's sandwich that she had ordered there! I guess that's how you know the produce is super fresh!)

An organic super supermarket with a deli to die for Yum yum

The best place to get all of your quality bulk food needs. Awesome for people with special diet necessities, excellent for vegetarian and vegans. I love this place...

It's alright. Definitely the kind of place to only go when you can't find what you need anywhere else.

Great selection of high quality, mostly local food. You're going to pay a considerable premium.

There is an aura around the coop. Once you enter it, you will likely become slower... you may leave your cart in the middle of the aisle and just meander around lost in contentment. There are a few however who stay unaffected by the aura. They will likely move your cart and roll their eyes at you when you unknowingly walk in front of them only to stop and stare at something. Just breath... all is transient... they will find another way...

Cans of craft beer, fresh salad and craft sandwiches we love this place every time we passed through.

Excellent co-op, large assortment of natural, organic, local and fairtrade products. Very good wine and beer section. Excellent atmosphere and attention, the cuisine is extraordinary.

Wow, one of the best gluten free options available for bread. I bought a bag of two baguettes and Oh. My. God. My new favorite place!

I love coming through and eating at the cafe! The bulk section is awesome, and vitamin day is where it's at!

Really fabulous selection. Super impressive Health & Beauty department. I think best selection out of the coops in central and maybe northern Vermont, the territory I'm familiar with. Prepared food is so expensive, I can't afford to eat there. Lines are sometimes unbelievably long at check out, but staff is generally very helpful and friendly. I like going here a lot.

If you want to be healthy stop and shop here you will love the variety of things and the service is excellent.

I LOVE the coop. However it is expensive and some of the products arent chemical free, organic, etc as you would expect since so much is organic, local etc. They make great food, sandwhiches, and baked goods!

Everytime I go into the coop I find something new that I didn't notice before.

All natural foods.It seems to be the place to buy healthy foods and a variety of all natural herbs and vitamins.

This place is right behind my Granddaughters home. She shops there all the time. Great place for really healthy locally grown foods. I love going there for a snack and sitting on the porch. I bought my GD a life time membership there hoping she will stay in Montpelier so I have a vacation spot.

I love it that the co-op has organic fruits and vegetables and the bananas are wonderful. I also like to buy things from the deli. I love the vanilla rice dream rice drink 2 gal in refrigerator section. everything they are taste great I'm grateful we have the hunger Mountain Coop here in Montpelier

Convenient location, good selection and friendly knowledgeable staff.

They have good variety of groceries and I liked their buffet lunch over others in the state of Vermont.

Great local resource for meats, veggies, hot food, deli sandwiches, beer & wine, sundries, bulk, and wellness items. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Also a nice place to sit with a coffee or a plate of hot food and chat or do work with their free wifi.

A very expensive grocery store (compared to ANY big city like NYC or DC etc. since I guess Vermont is so far away from major truck routes) but this Coop has certain food items that no one else has in Montpelier!! But even the LOCAL Vermont food items (like local cheese and meat products) are very expensive...all a bit of mystery to me!!

Shaw s has a cheaper but smaller range organic section. Check out both!! Shaw s fish section is excellent and fresh...live lobsters etc.

Wine section at this Coop is the best in Montpelier and cheapest if you know how to choose.

Bulk section is absolutely the BEST! Very, very reasonably priced. Just the tops with a HUGE range of items.

Pity they serve no wine or beer with food on the nice Terrace. Then I would dine here weekly. But I guess that may be taboo under uptight Federal or Vermont laws for a Supermarket to get a liquor license to serve wine or beer they already sell in their own shelves!! Sad?

We love the COOP. We have shopped their for almost twenty-years. Highly recommend.

We come here every time we come to VT camping or skiing to load up on awesome beer and groceries for our trip. This place will always have a special place in my heart because it's where I first bought Sip of Sunshine and Heady. The bagels, oh my god the bagels here are insane. Montreal Spice bagel is to die for.

I am very glad that the Hunger Mountain Coop exists. It provides the community with organic, locally sourced food, drinks, and other products. They also offer a variety of workshops and events that are full of fun and educational content. While it can get a bit pricy to shop their regularly, if you are smart about it it is well worth it.

Cool grocery store. Kinda like a local whole foods. Great bulk section for spices and dried food. Really cool atmosphere. The staff is always really friendly and helpful.

This place has good deals on many things and some things for wellness that's very healthy.

Central Vermont's biggest and best natural food store. They support local farmers, have decent competitive pricing, and wonderful service.

They have great quality food options, and an awesome bulk food section. I love shopping here for the bulk items and grocery basics, but to do all my shopping here would be too expensive.

Outstanding selection of organic goods. Great beer selection. One of the only places you can get Heady Topper and Lawson's Finest in the whole state.

Healthy lunch option. It can get a little crowded at peak time. Come early or late and avoid the rush.

High quality organic local food. Great hot and cold sandwiches. A little expensive.

Co-op have everything you need right from the local farmers and vendors. Love this place and the deli they have. I love the curry flavored chicken salad it's absolutely delicious

Perfect place for natural foods, and herbal supplies. The cafe serves delicious wholesome food, nice vegetarian selection as well.

The best co-op. I go out of my way to come here for the thoughtful and delicious selection of prepared food and groceries and extra interesting personal care items and home goods. I live 3.5 hours away and think about becoming a member even despite the distance. Highly recommend the vegan BLT and the salad bar.

One of my favorite co-ops I've ever visited. Cozy cabin feel and spacious seating to grab a coffee or eat at the buffet. Great vegetarian/vegan items.

The products are good and a nice atmosphere but beware of the Thai ginger soup it is very very spicy.
