Lots of local products, including a great selection of local beers.
Local food, local community involvement, member owned and managed. Great selection of organic food, much of it locally grown or manufactured and a wonderful selection of wines and beers.
I just bought some awesome local organic produce, and local whole wheat bread made with just whole grains and water. I love this store!!! They also have a great selection of sugar-free chocolate sweetened with stevia. I don't have room to list all the great stuff, so go see yourself!
Great local cheese, bread selection and lots of bulk foods
Amazing place. Lots of delicious hot meals you can purchase and enjoy there. Vast selection of organic and natural products, great deals on bulk foods
Things here are soooo over priced, every time I go in there I just end up leaving because of how expensive it is.
Bulk dry goods and spices are well worth getting here- organic here is a better value than non-organic packaged elsewhere!
We are lucky to have an affordable coop in our community!
The buffet offerings are often organic and real, whole foods. More healthy and tasty foods than other co-ops in VT and NH that I have tried. Great selection of hot and cold foods.
Great little coop. Excellent selection of produce, bulk foods, prepared foods etc.
The co-op is amazing. Tons of great local Central VT REAL foods and beverages. Beer, wine, meats, food for vegans , you name it! A++
Great selection with many organic options, particularly fruits and vegetables. Many nice hot lunch and dinner options at the cafe (ever changing menu). Friendly, helpful staff.
All types of special food. Lots of gluten free offerings
Very overpriced and very tight. Often hard to find items.
A surprising cooperative supermarket of excellent products you can even eat there.
Beautiful cheese stand and very welcoming staff.
They are much improved regarding their service to customers/members.
The best shop in town for organic groceries and ready-made food. Even when the parking lot is full, the lines aren't too bad.
The NICEST employees!! Every person I interacted with went above and beyond with kindness. I travel all over the northeast for work and try to eat at co-ops only. Wow! You guys should be the model for customer service for ALL FOOD CO-OPS!!
Thank you for making a first time out of towner feel welcome!
Unbeatable selection of local high-quality meats, cheeses, produce, bread and beer. Fantastic vitamin & supplement selection. Nice cafe overlooking the river. Compact but thoughtfully organized; very clean and pleasant space to spend time in. Wonderful staff will always answer any questions you have.
Slow service at the sandwich
counter. A simple sandwich
took over 30 minutes and it
wasn't that busy. There were 5
people behind the counter
...1 person cooking everything and 4 people distracting her.
Over priced too.
Love the atmosphere in this place smells delicious. Some things are a little pricey but some good deals can be had.
Awesome local food co-op, also has superb deli and hot lunch/ salad bar with rotating daily specials, and a great solarium and deck overlooking the winooski river to eat in.
Great selection of beer, cheese, bread and prepared foods. Helpful staff.
Not a huge selection but there is a lot of local products
If I lived here (and had enough $), I would exclusively shop here. Incredible selection of fresh stuff, beer, grains - everything you need. Seems a bit pricey but I guess if you just need a few high quality items this would be a good place to check out.
Great selection and reasonable prices. I'm not a fan of a lack of a household membership option.
Love the coop but I want to know who the hell greenlit individual package IMPORTED STILL WATER.
For all the emphasis on community and environment the goods selection is sometimes more a reflection of the income bracket it takes to afford a full grocery shop at the coop than anything else.
Local meats and cheese? Fantastic, worth it. Scottish can water? Pass.
I absolutely love this place but it's a bit expensive. Idk why food that's good for you has to cost so much? Not fair.
Best co-op around! So many good options and friendly people. Love the to-go meal section as well.
Wonderful market! We're from Montreal and we often come in Vermont but never without a stop at the Montpelier Coop.
Best grocery spot in Montpelier. If you're from out of time and you want amazing local cheese, meats, veggies, coffee, bread, etc stop here first.
Parking was a little rough with our fourteen passenger van, but the goods inside were great. Lots of great beers (what we came for) in addition to wonderful prepared food.
This is the place to go if you want local organic fair-trade food in central Vermont. Yes it's expensive. There's no getting around that. Those of us who are not one percenters deal with it by getting him most of our food at the local Shaw's but getting the really good stuff that you can't get anywhere else at the co-op. Amazing dairy yogurt section, best chocolate selection around, and A well-stocked book section are some of the features. Also they have well-trained cheese staff and a huge variety of local cheeses.
Best selection of organic/non GMO produce, breads, cheese, meats, and dairy in Central Vermont. Awesome beer and wine selections too.
Fantastic selection. They had a bottle of 3fontein oude geuze which is something usually only found at boutique beer shops & large liquor stores. Good vegan products although they were almost out of stock when I was there of beyond meat. Sandwich bar looked great. Only one complaint: horribly confusing inside. Weirdly shaped with all sorts of weird corners and turns.
Friendly staff, good food and a substantial selection of local products
This establishment discriminates against disabled persons who are medically exempt from the dubious mask mandate brought upon us by tyrannical government.
They do not allow such persons into the store even when wearing a full face shield as recommended by the CDC.
Also the prices on most items are very high compared to other stores.
The Co-op is a great place to find organic, bulk, and local products as you would expect, but in Vermont that means award winning cheeses and craft beer. With a full service deli and amazing salad, soup, hot dish bar, and greenhouse seating along the river, it's one of the best places in town to grab lunch. An added plus is that it's located right on the bike path. Make it your second stop after you snap a photo of the Capitol!
Its ridiculous overpricing is a constant joke/complaint for the locals. Still, we go... Mostly for the bulk section?
Great selection of high quality products. One of my favorite grocery stores in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Great selection of health food and locally made products
I love this place. I'm don't care about organic or not, but they always have great and interesting produce. Also, they have a great cafe, great local bakery items, and a good selection of non alcoholic and alcohol drinks.
