Adopted a pet that was on medication, but they weren't honest when it came to how much it was really going to actually cost me. But the is an industry problem. All the adoption places, I have dealt with over the years always lie a lot, to give them a home. So always think about a potential pet very carefully. And make your devisions by your intuition.

I love this place. Our family has enlarged our family with HSSV. The training facilities and staff are amazing. You can adopt a dog, cat, or a rabbit. You can buy pet supplies in the shop. There is a veterinarian facility on site for all of the vaccines and spay/neuter. Every one that works here loves their jobs

Took the ferals here for the trap neutered and release (TnR) program. If you have feral cats issues in your community, this is the place to go to. Free and friendly service to Santa Clara County residents including spayed/neuter, vaccines, deworm and deflea on feral cats. Stabilize the feral population by stopping breeding.

Everyone is verry friendly and knowledgeable on every species of pet they have. Most people are volunteers and want to be their. They helped us pick out a dog and let us look at and meet as many as we wanted to. They also have specials and deals a lot making it easy for anyone to adopt a dog or cat.

Very arrogant, and thinks that all of the people overwhelm them. They said that they have a waiting list of 500+, but the number of people never shrink. The process should be accelerated then, not stopping.

We took our puppy to here for puppy socials and puppy trainings. This Humane Society is the best. The facilities are nice and generally clean. The staff are helpful and very professional.

Found a nestling(baby bird) the other day in front of my house and at 5pm they were the only place open and willing to take in the little one. They were very helpful and friendly and in the morning would take the bird to a special bird rescue. Thanks guys!

Very great place for pets, they're really taking good care of animals here. This is the place to adopt and also a good place to say goodbye, top notch service from their staff and volunteers. Drop them a donation if you can!

They were rude and accused me of being a bad pet owner when I was under a lot of stress. My cat was pregnant and couldnt give birth on a Sunday morning. I was driving everywhere trying to get help since I dont have a lot of money and they treated me like I was abusive to my baby. They also tried to trick me into leaving her there so they could take her and not give her back to me. I was so distraught and emotionally unstable because of this place. Instead I was able to find nice people at a different place who helped me out and now I have 3 beautiful kittens and my baby is happy being a mother. Ive never been treated so poorly and it ruined my experience and view of this place.

Visited and had a tour. Organization seems to do everything right. Staff and volunteers have the right heart to help animals in need find homes so humans can have companions. Facility is impressive. Staff use their marketing talents to match foster animals with adoptive families. Just a disclaimer - I was not looking to adopt and did not adopt a pet during my visit.

Although I'm not a cat savvy, I wanted to adopt a cat. I would say that this is a perfect place for trying out cat adoption (although the adoption fees are higher than other shelters) especially if you are adopting cat for the first time. The facility is pretty new, each cat is not caged but they are roomed, several well-informed volunteers give you tips on the personality of each cat, and you get to know the cat by playing inside the cozy room.

After my dog passed away they were very understanding and helpful. They walked me through the whole process and made it as comfortable as it could be. Our dogs death was pretty traumatic and this experience helped us have closure.

I was sent over from San Jose Animal Services with a Homeless Vet his dog was very sick she needed to be euthanized! Well they would do it For or $130! Well had to take dog home so she could suffer some more and die like that! I donate to this Agency despite any negative stories regarding directors and such misappropriations! For me its about the Animals! Well today they showed me its about the money! Just lost a doner and any other doner that will hear me!

HSSV has an awesome facility! And an even more awesome staff and team of volunteers! Not only do they care for your next furry bestfriend, but they also offer an exclusive dog park, training classes, puppy socials, and sooo much more! Things can get pretty busy during weekends, but HSSV is open every day of the week so consider dropping by on a weekday. Regardless, I highly recommend to set aside a good amount of time if you're planning to adopt a new companion. You'll want to meet all the amazing animals and learn all about them!

People are nice to talk to, this place is not that busy. You are able to volunteer here taking out dogs out for a walk. This place is a little hidden from regular traffic, I got lost the first time trying to get here. The people inside will always have someone to talk in your preferred language.

This place is huge compared to the other animal shelters that I have seen in the Bay Area. Not only they have the adoptions center they have educational programs, dog parks, and animal clinic. There are a lot of cat and dog rooms and plenty of spaces to see and socialize with them. There is even a pet merchandise store inside and plenty of staff to help you with what you need.

We adopted a dog today! Was a great experience. We had already applied, and had a video introduction. Leia is home with us now! (We changed her name from Bunny) Everyone at HSSV was wonderful to work with. Highly recommended!

We reached out to the Humane Society when we couldn't get the schedule we needed with our regular veterinary provider. We're so glad their staff called back promptly.
Letting our beloved pet go was a tough decision for us. The Humane Society made the process so much more stress-free, comforting, and dignified. Thank you for accommodating our wishes at the time we needed it.

This is a paid membership dog park. The large dog area has rolling terrain; the small dog area has several agility training tools. The members are friendly & almost all the dogs are wonderful. I take 1 star off because my dog was attacked by the dog of one of the humane society employees... but while the humane society's liaison was more than willing to email with me, her main focus seemed to be nattering on incessantly about how she couldn't require anything of the untrained dog's owner to ensure there wouldn't be another attack!

I am so grateful to this place on one end, and disenchanted on the other... four years ago, I adopted my dog from here... he was underweight and dehydrated. When I took him to the vet's, they discovered that he had some kind of worm in his stomach (probably eating up his food) and hearworm disease! Poor thing! You would think that for all the money they put into the beautiful facility, that it would be best put to use testing their animals for heartworm, etc (and treating them)... the price to take care of my furry baby- doesn't matter... but imagine how careless of a mistake this is if someone with less of an economic standing were to adopt a pet... do they return the poor sick little thing? How traumatic for the animal! I am not impressed with this facility at all! I laughed so hard when this came up as number 2 when I googled, "animal sanctuary." Pl--ea--se! The volunteers- bless their hearts! The owner... shame!

Bad experience with the front desk at intake. But at least the management seems care and responded. Was looking for two stray kittens might have been submitted to this facility. They were found abandoned at our office parking lot. One of my colleague was ready to adopt them (to take them home directly), but when we went out to find them they where not there. Facility management told us someone else has sent them to the local shelter. Not sure who or which shelter but I went to all shelters in the area (Humane Society SC is the closest one) and ask if there were two kittens (about 10 week old I think) been submitted on 9/12. I gave the description of the features of the two kittens. It might have been an easy task just "try" to check the computer log at intake office ! I wasn't asking for bulls eye hit ! Just wanna know "if there were two tabby short haired ~10 week old kittens been submitted here yesterday ?". The lady wasn't even willing to move her fingers ! She told me there are 500+ cats submitted and there is no way she can find them in the system. I think the shelter's #1 priority should be grabbing onto the best chance the animal can have a warm and safe home ! MY VISIT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THAT CHANCE ! please train your staff better.
