Hotel Tamarindo Diría Beach and Golf Resort Review

Amazing place with the best of staff! All gave us great service but a special thanks to our wet bar bartender Esteban.

Great drinks. The night has live music. And it's the seaside. Values are moderate. I recommend the pina colada and the mojito.

Hotel is right on the beach, if you want a view be sure to to say you dont want the lower area without the view

Very good resort, although the room we stayed may need some refurbishment, especially bathroom plumbing. The beach and pools are very good. I would recommend this resort.

Great location in the heart of Tamarindo! The staff is very friendly. The ocean is right outside your door, they have several pools, and the breakfast is great too! Pura Vida!

Rooms are great, but no elevator is a huge problem.

the guy at check in announced to all my friends that my credit card was declined... i prepaid for the hotel. then they stuck us in probably the worst room... killed our pura vida mood at the beginning of our vacation. cut our stay short and got an airbnb bc of the experience at the front desk

Our room is comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff has been helpful and accomodating to all of our requests. I would stay there again.

Bad service, staff is not trained. I complained twice by official means and did not get a response to my complaints.

The price / performance ratio does not suit me! For over $ 200 a night you just expect more.

I can't even give this resort 1 star. We came to stay here for 5 days for our honeymoon! They put us on the 2nd floor when we were supposed to have a ground level room where we could walk out to the beach. This room was a joke it had cracks in the plaster above the ceiling over the bed. Even worst mold on the wall under the ac and mold and cracks in the bathroom. The only pleasant thing is that we can see the ocean from our balcony. If you're looking for romantic honeymoon destination stay far away from this resort!!!!

A Hotel with two aspects, because one thing is the sea view rooms, another is that the barracks which is reached by crossing the road. We were in the barracks, pool view, small and non-functional room.
A plus point is the fact that it is in the center, so that in the evening you have something to do.
Sunbeds placed in some way in the garden, if you want the beach, a beach umbrella and two beds are $ 15 per day. Cleaning not outstanding, unwilling and not very friendly ..
The breakfast is abundant and varied, the quantity and variety of fruit is excellent.

We were only there one night as part of our tour. Great beach and great complex. Those who like something very touristy are in good hands here.
We didn't like it. But one can argue about taste. But what cannot be argued about:
-Service often seemed like they were tourists over
- the remote control of our climate was empty. Without our own batteries we would not have been able to turn them off.
- the worst: no water came out of the shower. We couldn't take a shower. Only communicated it at checkout. Gave 2 free drinks. We were also very friendly. Since the service was very uncomfortable, I think that these were rather isolated cases.

- the room had some kind of loud ventilation. That was annoying during the night.

Went for dinner and drinks. The food was mediocre at best and very expensive. Definitely not worth the money. The atmosphere was very nice though, and the drinks were strong.

Excellent place, hotel in front of the beach with a / c, satellite TV, buffet breakfast included, three swimming pools, free wifi, good cocktails and exceptional service, without a doubt a special place for families and couples.

Outstanding hotel. Probably the best and biggest in Tamarindo. The only reason that I've given it 4 stars is that they don't have a private beach despite their claim on Expedia. As explained in the hotel, the beaches in Costa Rica are all public.

Definitely if you go to Tamarindo beach it is an excellent option since its location is excellent, it has a variety of swimming pools and it is a very quiet environment, breakfast is included and they have a buffet, the best. it is really nice.

I love drinks at the Diria. The tables under the trees looking at the ocean and beach are the best!

Nice place to spend a day at the beach with all the services

Definitely be aware that the Hal room is best with a balcony or patio facing the sea. The rooms facing the street can be very dark and therefore not very inviting. We upgraded. It was definitely worth it. on the whole a decent hotel clean and the food is ok too

Nice layout and pool. We started across the street from the beach and I found it quiet and relaxing. Beds were comfy and it felt secure with a locking gate

Good stay. Although I really think the price for what they offer is very high. Food is not the "big thing", although it tries to sell you the idea that they are "the best of the best" .. the hotel is not as great as one would think. Good location, good atmosphere, ample parking.

Super clean, beautiful gardens, very friendly staff and delicious food.

We enjoyed 4 wonderful nights at this hotel. We loved the atmosphere and location, the best in Tamarindo. With 2 pools, the beach just steps away as well as restaurants and shops just outside the hotel, it is perfect for traveling with children. We stayed in the Sunsets Rooms, on the second floor and it couldn't be better. Waking up to the ocean view and having coffee on the balcony is the perfect way to start your day. The breakfast buffets are generous and varied, with options for all tastes.

We had a wonderful stay and we recommend it, especially if you are traveling with children.

Wonderful place! Very clean. Very spacious private garden next to the beach. Beautiful pools. Great restaurants connected to the hotel was very convenient for payments. Great choice of tours that leave directly from the hotel. I definitely recommend.

Outstanding! Had my wedding there yesterday at the end of the rainy season. The location is fantastic! Quite picturesque and the service here is spectacular! If you have a chance to come to this hotel, I highly recommend it.

I'd say the hotel accommodations as a whole are more like 4/5 stars... The beds, pillows, and sheets aren't super comfortable in the standard room. Pretty typical continental breakfast but they have an omelette station that is pretty solid and the view is impossible to beat. Ultimately giving it five stars because they have great employees and service, the value is incredible, you're in the best spot possible of Tamarindo and can walk to anywhere, amazing view of the beach, really relaxing adults only area, and fairly reasonable drink prices (typically between $4-$8 unless you get something special). Enjoyed being there!!

Beautiful location and hotel complex. Easy access to anywhere. We stayed in a room across the street from the beach and found it to be perfect with two pools immediately outside our door. Breakfast was excellent. We did the ATV tour they promote and it was excellent. Will definitely be back (and may try a beachfront room.)
