Great location, everyone is very friendly. Big breakfast buffet!! Nice to wake up and see the ocean!
Great location, everyone is very friendly. Big breakfast buffet!! Nice to wake up and see the ocean!
Excellent service, next to the beach; beautiful views and very good atmosphere.
It is a good hotel but they do not maintain sustainable practices
Great, beautiful resort on the beach. Friendly staff.
This is not a bad hotel but not good either. There are many other hotels around that are so much better than this hotel. Rooms are not as great as shown the in picture.
I booked a pool view room in adult section but they gave us some other room because they say there is no availability. We were like what the heck!! And then the receptionist was so rude with me. She told me adult section is fully booked but then I checked online that it was available. I hate when people lie like this. I hate the way she talked to me. It totally turned me off. We drove from la fortuna to tamarindo, it's a 4 hour drive and I didn't want to see any rude faces. The person who kept ur luggage in our room was the only guy who was friendly!
Building is just ok! Location is good.
Excellent hotel has restaurants with delicious food and access to the beach
Would be great if the condo guests were treated a little better.
Loved it! Spend 3 days there the town was nice, late Oct. Is end of rainy season.
Excellent service, very well prepared staff, breakfast very good.
We had the adults only room and pool which was wonderfully peaceful and secluded. Breakfast included in price is a meal that can lay you the whole day with a mixture of traditional Costa Rican and North American and European stuff available. Decaffeinated coffee available on request for breakfast and in the room. Lots of food places for other meals including at least three places with vegan food. Pura Vegan in a short of food court allows a party of mixed diets to eat together happily.
Beach is a spit away. Great estuary tours to see Howler Monkeys, crocodiles and loads of birds. We found one for $35 per person at a local surf shop.
BEST HOTEL IN TAMARINDO! Easy access to everything in the city and perfect safe beach for sunset Wouldn t stay anywhere else!
This place is gross and felt like we were staying at a cheap motel.
This is not the place you want to go if you want quit in the evening. The outdoor bar next door has live music and most of the rooms have to listen to it wrathew you like it or not. I asked to be removed to a comparable room away
fromthee bar and was told I could have a ground floor in the same area or leave.
Horrible service, no place to sit with your family, and extremely loud. We had drunk people screaming late every single night. We paid more for an ocean front groom to hear the ocean, not drunken parties every night.
Solid 3.5 star resort. Good location, friendly employees and plenty of space for guests in the pool area. Peaceful and quiet location. Good landscaping.
Cons- the internet didn't work the entire week (inquired daily on its its repair). Maintenance could be improved (cleanliness and paint can go a long way). Employees, while nice, needed more training. Most of our questions were were replied with "I don't know" when asked in both English and Spanish. Drinks were watered down (recommend you stick with beer).
Overall, we were satisfied. We would've expected a little more for the money we spent.
Walked in off the street for a room because no one was at the front desk for hours where we originally booked someplace else. Staff welcomed us with polite attitudes and got us a room right away. Even upgraded us to a room with a view because they were booked in rooms without. Great free breakfast buffet. Many relaxing pools. Right on the beach and down town with parking off street. Food and drinks were a little pricey and we're just so so quality.
Stayed here with my family for 3 days. It was a really nice experience. The sunsets were just incredible and it was really nice being so close to the beach! The location was pretty good. Except all the people on the streets selling whistles . That got annoying. We got to go Horse back ridding on the beach and that was so amazing! I definitely recommend doing the hotels horse back ridding! Overall this was a very beautiful hotel with amazing breakfasts and views!
Quiet to relax with beautiful gardens and near the beach
The Pool, i think there's 3 pools... but the big one across the street is Awesome! The view from the front looking into the ocean is also Amazing! Nice room, the bathrooms were very large. No complaints!
I stayed here by myself for a week and I was in heaven. I was in Costa Rica for a wedding down the beach from the hotel and most of my family was staying at the Diaria. I would stay at the Diaria in a heartbeat again, the staff was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious and the coffee was the best hotel coffee I've ever had. I also was upgraded to a complimentary ocean view room which also really made the entire vacation, the view was seriously amazing.
I have been hosted by friends who rent this lovely acomendation.
Love it.
I found bed bugs all inside my mattress and when I went to the front desk they were extremely rude and wouldn't give me a different room or my money back. I was being polite and didn't make a scene but I couldn't believe how they treated me. I had to stay somewhere else for the night because the room was not an option. Even if your stay might be pleasant I don't recommend supporting a place with such values.
Staff/security/crossing guards are all rude and have to be new to the tourism industry. Johnathan at the front desk took $120 from our group to order a shuttle for our flight to Liberia. When we called the shuttle to confirm, they said did not hear of anything and told us that whoever we gave the $120 to ripped us off (Johnathan). Luckily the company took us for free after seeing that we got scammed. Planning on purchasing property in Tamarindo and will never recommend anything at Diria for as long as I hear it is the same. Also, the tall security guard who thinks he is a police officer needs to reconsider his job status. Your $2 an hour job is not worth the horrible treatment you recently gave many members of a 50 person group who spent thousands of dollars at this place between 2/5/17- 2/12/17. You fly thousands of miles to enjoy your vacation and you get yelled at for not having a *ucking wristband. Make sure you don't try to walk in without a "wristband"!!! Oh no!!!
Tamarindo is special just as are all places in Costa Rica!
It is a very nice beach hotel, the service is at a strategic place, the Tamarindo Beach one of the most beautiful beaches and its sunsets in Costa Rica, immersed in a small beach town, located a step away from the beach you can To be in the pool looking at the sea and the atmosphere on the beach, beautiful.
Would go again anyday, beautiful island with amazing diversity of culture
The place is beautiful and comfortable. Their pools are incredible. Don Manuel is the best hotel. The comfortable rooms. Ideal to go with children. The only flaw that beach loungers do not belong to the hotel and who handles them is very disrespectful.
Very busy. Lots to see. Great beach restaurants. People try to sell trinkets to you every 3 minutes.
Beautiful resort, four restaurants, 2 pools, beach access and a tour desk that helps you plan your stay. The staff is great and very helpful, when I return to Costa Rica this will be the resort I'll stay in. The 2 previous resorts that I stayed at could not stack up to Tamarindo Diria.
It was a nice place if you choose a room with a sea view
Nice hotel with good location. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are spacious and modern with good beds. The gym is too small.
Excursions can be booked at the front desk. Be sure to ask for Kimberly, she knows her way around and is very helpful.
Beautiful gardens!!!! Accommodation more like 3 star and breakfast buffet is shocking. Over cooked food and tasteless.
luxe postcard Be carefull to book a room with view on the beach ( more expensive) but this place is absolutely not the reflect of Costa Rica. So suggestion is to finish your trip with 3 days in this hotel
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast was excellent every morning. I enjoyed listening to the waves in the morning and the services provided were excellent. The massage tent was very enjoyable and turtle watching went excellently. I would return I think.
Beautiful sunset. Water is calm and plenty of places to eat and drink. Great area to hang with friends.
Very attentive staff Excellent food and cleanliness
Love the beach on one side and the beach town on the other side. Great restaurants. Especially liked l'Estanco. And Jonny Tamarindo.
Amazing views! Very helpful staff, just a great place for vacation. Locals selling whistles, necklaces, cigars etc. get a little annoying.
The hotel is nice, but with enough stairs to go from one place to another. The checkin very slow, more than half an hour to explain how you have to behave, as if we were children with the teacher. The lousy wifi, only for Apple and slow. The bad location. I wanted to pay with a different card from the one I have at Booking and it was not possible because they had already charged it before we arrived. Anyway, for 115 I would go somewhere else, because in addition to that beach we found the Benidorm of Costa Rica.
Very nice staff, beautiful grounds. We stay in the front by the ocean, room 111 and there are some varmint in the ceiling that would wake you up between 4 and 4:30 everyday. Front desk said they were raccoons. And we would prefer that they had bacon and not hot dogs calling them sausage. It was a nonsmoking facility, which we enjoyed.
Costa Rica 2018
Over the 12years of coming to the Diria resort, I have never been disappointed in the quality of both the service and facility here.
The relaxing atmosphere is outstanding and note-worthy to mention. The complete spectrum from relaxing to a day full of activity can be experienced. You chose and enjoy. From traveling solo, to couples and family events/gathering... the Diria Resort in Tamarindo can accommodate you with a wonderful experience!
Mark Beck / Barnyak - Ventura California
Large resort. Very clean and professional. Pools are great. Can be a little touristy but if you're into that then you will love this place. Nothing bad to say. Beautiful place.
We hung out at the bar chill got something to eat food was great love that it is right on the beach. Next time we might stay there.
Great place, fab views, warm pools, beach, location, buffet breakfast and rooms. Loved it!
Expected so much more than what this place was. Breakfast buffet was gross, cheap uncomfortable lawn chairs, rooms very basic. Only good thing is it s location in the middle of town
Great place on the water. Food is not amazing but good enough
Just had a little lunch when we were on the beach. It was very tasty, but a lot was added to the price ... in addition to the tax and high serving costs, there was also a substantial cost for converting into dollars, while I paid by credit card.
Enjoyed an evening dinner with wife there in the off season, (October 2015) fabulous!!
Best restaurant on the main strip, very satisfied with meal and service, decor and atmosphere where superior...
Tourists rip off. The complex is well laid out and that was it. Cocktails in plastic cups for $ 7. Kakalacken in the corridors (see photo). Old towels are taken from the cleaning lady and you will be forced to pick up new towels for a fee of $ 5. That was every day until we hid the towels.
The staff wasn't very helpful always or nice. There were a few staff members that were fantastic tho. My friend had a wedding there so there were a lot of us for several days and it felt like the hotel didn't want us there. Upon arrival, my booking was wrong. The gal at the desk made it very complicated to just get checked in. The price ended up doubling. Then the AC poured water down and into our bags where all our stuff was wet. When we told the desk they didn't care, offered to send someone to look at it. We had to several people to have the proper thing down. They moved our room and had our clothes washed, free of charge and gave a $100 credit. However when I tried to charge to our room, we couldn't. So at checkout we had the charge for laundry, and a $100 credit they wouldn't apply to the cost of our stay. They did let us forward it to our friends room who were still there a few days. Overall, for the cost, not the greatest place.
Great location on the beach with friendly staff and reasonable prices
The food is delicious, the service is excellent and it is very well located
Excellent location. Clean, well maintained, plenty of staff.
Sunsets are fab, pool area and lawn behind beach wall with plenty of loungers (yes, the beach vendors will call to you).
Yes, they do play music at the open air bar until 11pm.
Yes, the breakfast is mostly the same everyday but includes made to order eggs, lots of fruit, strong coffee - pretty much everything expected.
If you want a beachside resort, it's a good choice.
