Hotel Resort Landgoed Westerlee Review

Unfortunately another bad experience. Received a voucher from a friend for a high tea for 2. Unfortunately the voucher was no longer valid, according to the voucher provider this was due to the willingness of estate Westerlee, once contact Westerlee estate did not want to cooperate. A big wedding held on this estate a year ago, which at the time also seemed impersonal, it was now again. For the rest had a super nice day at the time and wanted to celebrate our anniversary here. This also did not help in the conversation, we just had bad luck. Pity.

The estate is now in very bad shape, grass is unkempt, path is difficult to pass and unfortunately the staff does not go that extra mile. Very unfortunate, but we will not be there again.

Delicious food in a good ambiance. The surprise menu is definitely recommended.

For the 2nd time we were at Landgoed Westerlee and we enjoyed it again. Certainly some things are outdated or need to be replaced, but for what we paid it was great. Incredibly nice staff with a heart for the business, friendly / helpful and really run off their feet for you. If you really want to relax, this is definitely recommended. We did not finish the site for 2 days. Is not necessary in terms of food. The food was really delicious this time too !! Thank you dear staff for the nice days. See you next year.

The food was very tasty and the presentation was well taken care of. Beyond friendly staff. The location is attractive and cozy.

Unfortunately also a number of negatives. The quantity is disappointing, you pull out again. The wines are very expensive, and you don't get a glass of water with it. Coffee afterwards is a big bet. No idea what kind of coffee beans they are, but it tasted horrible.

Great ... recommended! Nice location, luxury & comfort ... great restaurant. Our Dog has also enjoyed, owner has 5 dogs, super animal friendly Hotel.

I was very curious when I saw the photos. But we loved it. The hotel is lovingly furnished and exudes a certain charm.
The rooms are very warm as there is also underfloor heating.
The jacuzzi is very nice but also very loud.
We took scented candles and a nice bath with us.
The breakfast is good but you could offer something more such as Meat salad, Bressot cheese, smoked ham and so on.
It rained on our weekend and the parking lot was a mud hole, so we have to clean our car first.
The staff is very reserved but friendly.
We will definitely be back again because this hotel is something completely different.
Visiting Groningen is recommended, Winschoten seems to be dying out as almost 30% of the shops are empty.

Lovely and cute countryside hotel, very cozy. The Spa pool inside the room was large and reasonably priced for one night. A bit old but still lovely

Oh, it hurts my soul but I have to say we expected more. The photos are from the last years in which the hotel was still maintained. It's all rather musty, old and dusty. The room itself was in contrast top. The bathroom incl Jacuzzi tub gets 5 stars. The balcony was unfortunately not equipped with furniture at our visit in the middle of June and also rather rocked .... We had a groupon deal incl menu ... which was really disappointing. Also at breakfast I expect more fresh fruit except grapes ... with The music in the restaurant reminded us moody in general more of a sinking ship. It would have to be invested again something so I would not book there. In the end, it was a pity about the money - despite "deal"

We booked the hotel through a groupon voucher and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel and the rooms are a bit dated but very clean and well maintained.

Beautiful hotel made in an old farmhouse with 16 luxury rooms with a delicious breakfast and dinner

Beautiful location, opposite beautiful walking area. Hotel deserves some attention here and there. Despite small minuses, it is certainly worth experiencing. Especially the 2 person jacuzzi is very nice.

The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere of yesteryear and the stables have been nicely renovated. We had a delicious breakfast and dinner was excellent. However, we found that the room could use a freshening up. Also welcoming and saying goodbye to guests could be a bit more personal.

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately our mattresses were very worn. But the giant bathtub was great. The food in the restaurant was also very good.

The place is beautiful and the food is tasty. Only the mattresses have a deep hole in the middle and therefore need to be renewed.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel has a special charm. The room is nicely decorated and clean. Whirlpool class. Breakfast was perfectly fine. Would go again.

Beautiful art everywhere just like a gallery heerlijk and wonderfully quiet and atmospheric! Romantic country rooms with balcony and bathroom with rain shower in the jacuzzi! To be repeated!

Jacuzzi and room great. Reception very nice and breakfast also delicious. Recommended for a relaxing short trip and some togetherness.

One could work a little more on the cleanliness. e.g. the bathroom window has not been cleaned in ages.
We couldn't use the outdoor pool because it wasn't cleaned. That was a shame because the weather would have allowed us. I also think the outdoor area should be looked after more. That would upgrade the hotel a lot. A couple of German channels in the room wouldn't be bad either.

Great experience and super nice hotel! The area is particularly beautiful, the rooms are clean and very luxuriously furnished, huge jacuzzi and a beautiful and large balcony. The bed is very soft and wonderful to sleep in. Highly recommended.

Stayed 4 years ago and ate in the fish restaurant. Was Super then. Today the high tea via Groupon was nothing. Sticky sandwiches without taste. All the sweet stuff from the wholesaler. Dull lipton tea .. Poor service! Put down the etagere and walked away without saying a word.

It is very luxurious and quiet. You have your own jacuzzi, a (public) swimming pool and you get delicious food. There is also good room service.

Everything okay, it just needs to be renovated again.

Nice and recommendable experience.
Old country estate. From the outside a little spit at first, probably also due to the season. You shouldn't expect a 5 star hotel with modern furnishings. The reception was nice and parking spaces directly behind the house, but not paved. Room nice and furnished according to the house. A clear plus point of the whirlpool. In the evening 3 course menu in the stylish restaurant. Very tasty and good service. Bar very large but comfortably furnished. Pool (outside) could not be used as we were away in February. Breakfast fully sufficient. Basically price / performance good. Elevator available. The above is my own opinion.

Lovely hotel, quiet location, spacious room, well cared for and an excellent breakfast.

Been for a High Tea, but found it very disappointing. The snacks were very small, a piece of cheesecake measuring barely an inch and two small pieces of "sandwich", 1 of which only with cheese. The scone from the oven was still cold on the inside with a mini cup of jam, the "homemade chocolates" was 1 chocolate truffle and the various types of cake and biscuits also suggest more than a small piece of spekkoek. You would also expect good tea with a high tea, but this is also just lipton.

And the service was not very good either. Upon arrival, we have been waiting for a while for someone to say "I will help you in a minute" and during the high tea we were not asked if anyone wanted anything anymore, we had to actively ask about it ourselves while it should be the other way around. And while we were still drinking tea, everything was already cleared, again without asking if anyone wanted anything else.

I would certainly not recommend this high tea, not even for the discount via social deal and absolutely not for the "normal" price.

Done a luxury high tea, well with luxury. Everything from the packages and boxes placed on storey. Very unfortunate, we would rather pay a little more for better quality. A nice entourage, but that's it.

Very beautiful hotel. Large, pretty double rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast tastes good and has a great variety. I cannot say anything about the dinner because we did not have it. Our room had a jacuzzi that worked very well - only complaint would be the noise it creates. I cannot compare it to any other jacuzzis, though.

Hugely fun place. The friendly boy behind the bali received us very nicely and had the table beautifully set. Beautiful view and very clear starry sky. Just great!

Super nice location .. rooms in style of the surroundings and the building and the food was delicious!

Atmospheric place. The food is good. Neatly arranged with regard to communication about the food and the collection of the meal downstairs. Room is neat. Not top finished. Remember when you take a bath because at certain times the hot water will run out. No reception drink received according to the arrangement (I only discovered later). I really had to make a point about the costs because prices did not correspond to communicated prices. Unfortunately, I had to persevere before anything was done about it. As a guest, that feels very unpleasant. Unfortunately you do not get a full impression of the Corona measures ... The young man may still receive some lessons in communication skills. He asked such a question that it felt as if you were being called upon. Very nasty.
Overall, a very good impression in terms of buffet. There is a learning point in terms of communication.

Had a very nice high tea, the food selection was great! Was a bit let down by the tea selection, but no complaints. Would definitely visit again!

Delicious lunch and cozy beautiful place and surroundings. Nice service.

We have come here to relax, friendly and welcoming are the words that make the welcome and stay pleasant.

A nice sauna with a heated outdoor swimming pool is really worth it.

The evening ended with a delicious dinner, where the chef surprised you with different dishes, certainly did not want to miss it.

Furthermore, the room is fine and equipped with a bathroom with jackuzi in style.

Service, room was good. Breakfast was just not that extensive.

Our stay at this hotel was short-lived.
We booked the bridal suite for our wedding night. Upon arrival, the jacuzzi turned out to be no longer a jacuzzi. This is due to the fact that a new bottom has been placed so that the bubbles can no longer pass through. According to the reception, this floor had been installed by a professional company. However, this looked like a job well done. The new bottom had edges that were too sharp for a bath / jacuzzi. This is also the reason that we did not agree with this bridal suite. Also that there were stains on the decorative pillows that were on the bed.

On the basis of this story above, the receptionist has neatly given us another room and apologized.

The other room .. seemed good at first. But on closer inspection, we soon found out that the jacuzzi in this room was also not optimal. Several caps and the air outlet (bubble system) in the bottom were missing. And came across 3 hairs in this jacuzzi. We went back to the reception and told that we still do not agree with this room.

On the basis of this, I and my wife wanted a part of our money back.

We could get a maximum of 20 euros back.

We understand that you cannot cancel it on the day of arrival. But that we have received so little in return, I personally think it is quite bad. This is partly because the rooms do not comply as stated on the website.

This seriously ruined our wedding night which we were really looking forward to.
And no longer had the money to move to another hotel.

My advice to you is therefore also, if the rooms are no longer 100% good. Then clean it up well. Or mention it on the site.

People expect them to book the room they see on the site. And don't expect the stuff to be old and worn out.

Take advantage of this information.

It is a nice hotel and beautiful surroundings.
Just a pity that we had to wait 3 hours for our hotel room on arrival before finally hot water came out of the tap for the jacuzzi.
We reported it to the reception, where they indicated that everyone checks in around the same time and that everyone often fills the jacuzzi and that the boiler cannot handle it.
It seems to me that if you have a hotel with 16 rooms that all have a jacuzzi, you just have to have the hot water well organized.
In addition, there is also some overdue maintenance here and there such as a loose tap at the sink and here and there torn joints in the bathroom.

Despite all this, we did have a pleasant stay.
Breakfast was also well arranged during this annoying corona time, at the agreed time that we could indicate at check-in it was ready for us at the reception

Today a delicious meal in a beautiful ambiance. An authentic farmhouse has been tastefully renovated. The hospitable reception was beyond expectations. I can recommend the location for groups, weddings, dinner together or an overnight stay. Wonderful hospitality at an affordable price. They get a 9 from me.

Country style is very important here. Unfortunately, the furnishings are also getting on in years with items that should not be left to deteriorate for hygienic reasons. The big problem here is cleanliness. Zahncream from predecessors and silverfish under the bed messed up the weekend.

7/13/2020 Stayed here for the night with my friend in the "bridal suite". How we enjoyed! Really a place to relax, super relaxed and romantic atmosphere. The ladies who worked on Sunday and Monday (unfortunately forgotten the names) were extremely helpful and friendly. We even wanted to stay an extra night, but it was fully booked and that makes sense! The jacuzzi was a bit outdated and should have been better, but this would be renovated soon, this is a point of attention. In addition, I forgot a jacket after departure, I received a direct call and received it the next day as a package at home, I call that service! See you soon!

If you want to spend a weekend in Oostgroningen, this Hotel is a must.
The farm was completely renovated in 2008, by the Karistinos family.
Here and there is a bit of overdue maintenance, but it remains a great experience.
You will not regret it.

The breakfast was really below standard, especially when you see the decoration of the entire estate. I understand that certain things are not possible with the current measures, but I have stayed in different hotels and many things are possible. The small rolls were very dry, they had been there for a while, no crackers or yogurt or the like. In any case, that bag from the snack bar to take the products with you; think that could be dressed a little better.
Environment is beautiful and fortunately no problems with the hot water. We had a special price, but certainly not worth the full price.

Good food, both the breakfast and the 3-course menu were good and tasty. The reception was very friendly. The room are big and neat. The bubble bath was very pleasant. We were very satisfied.

Was a really good stay. Delicious eaten. Now it was winter, but I think it is even more beautiful in the summer.
