Unfortunately it is not what it was anymore. The bedroom was cold. Although the underfloor heating, the air conditioning with heating function and the wall heating ran at full power, the room was not warm. The dining area below was ice cold (felt 10-12 degrees). The water in the bath was not really hot, because always cold water came, rather than warm. We were already 3 years ago in the hotel and it was great. When I approached an employee (sitting in a thick turtleneck sweater) at the front desk, he just said sorry, the wind. It was windy but not extremely cold at -1.5 degrees. For us it was unfortunately the last visit there.

Beautiful location with very nice rooms. A lot of luxury for relatively little money. If you are looking for peace, you can definitely go here! Staff also very friendly and helpful.
Just returned from a fantastic stay at this top hotel. Spacious room with a nice balcony. Was cleaned fine and was definitely a wow factor upon entering with the room layout. Bathroom was clean. Praise for the room service.
Bathroom had a 2 person jacuzzi. Also with us the "caps" floated to the top, but after fishing we put them outside the bath and was not a disturbing factor.
In terms of noise: apart from a loudly screaming lady who was practicing some 18+ activities, was not bothered by the neighbors. But no insulation can withstand this lady.
Room was warm and could be chosen for underfloor heating (very pleasant) and cold / warm from the air conditioning. The underfloor heating is more than enough to keep the room at the right temperature.
Location is peaceful and calm. Great for a relaxing weekend away.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Every question was answered and even led us to the sauna (recommended) which I think was turned on specially for us.
Breakfast was fine and delicious. Fresh bread and fruit. Fresh tea and juices. If something was not present, the staff could be asked and eggs were cooked to order.
We brought a bottle of wine ourselves, but no corkscrew. This was well arranged by the staff and even received 2 glasses.
If I can still mention one point for improvement: something like a kettle in the room? I understand very well that they have a bar downstairs, but this seems like a great idea.
We will come back here for sure. Without a doubt. We booked a 2 night stay through their website and paid the full price. For us it was well worth it. I don't recognize the negative reactions in our stay.

Extremely friendly people and excellent service! The food was good and we had some wishes regarding the food and that was neatly taken into account. The rooms are somewhat dated. The bed was really worn out, which was a shame, otherwise I would have given 4 stars without any problems, because they actually deserve that. However, the in-room jacuzzi makes up for it.
Beautiful hotel and gorgeous landscape. Very peaceful and relaxing. We had high tea and it was very delicious! I recommend this hotel for a quick getaway or even just to enjoy some nice food and atmosphere.
Wonderful location with a great high tea. For weddings and (business) parties a special estate with a beautiful hotel within the walls of this beautiful environment. You can be in this area all day with excellent map
Nice place with luxury rooms. In our room there was a large hot tub in which it is very nice to stay. Upon arrival, a delicious bottle of prosecco was ready. The food in the restaurant was also fantastic and there was a good wine pairing available. All in all a nice stay with good breakfast and dinner! Recommended for me.
Wedding celebrated, on the day, too few but very nice staff .... except those who in the evening accused a guest of lying. We have not seen snacks (except bitterballen) on our side. Since she could not walk and was glued to the couch, she could not have missed it. Very atmospheric, but certainly not clean. Good food. Cake was also nice and sweet but not as the picture promised. Wedding dress damaged by rough bottom of the table, splinters removed, but the shrugs in the fabric are not corrected or compensated. Certainly atmospheric but not 4 stars.
Had a very dissatisfied experience with this hotel.
I slept in this hotel for 2 nights with my girlfriend and we had some issues that were left untouched until a complaint was made to the website where this hotel was booked.
The room was not vacuumed, there is sand, hair and dust everywhere. Not to walk barefoot. After night 1 the bed was made again and towels changed indicated that the room needed to be vacuumed. This was said to be done but did not happen.
The room is not mopped, when you wipe the floor it is immediately black.
Room not serviced by staff, previous guest's diary found under bedside table.
Window frames have not been cleaned, there is also a lot of dust, sand and various hairs from the previous guests.
Stains in the bedding.
In addition, the driveway next to the hotel is a drama, car shakes on all sides and is not wheelchair friendly.
The hotel manager thinks it is necessary to charge 5 per person per night for tourist tax and administration costs. Tourist tax is + - 1, - in this area. This is therefore 4 extra per person per night, which is in addition to the booking.
Due to our anniversary I had booked rose petals for the room. after we first had to pay 20 extra, I was very surprised when I arrived at the room and paid 9.50 for 30 plastic rose petals in the shape of a heart. Which can literally be put down and cleaned up in 15 minutes.
I spoke about this with the hotel manager and there was no solution.
I also strongly advise against booking this hotel at all. Staff could not arrange anything and everything had to be passed on to the hotel owner / manager who is very firm and is not willing to offer an appropriate solution.
After complaining about the administration costs and the rose petals, the manager was only after 2 conversations and a complaint to the website through which I had booked an amount of 10, - to be refunded.
Sit there yourself now. It doesn't look great from the outside, it is. Perfect is the right word. Room, get and staff are great. Nice to be here. A great dinner last night, now in the room.
What is bad about this hotel? Actually everything. The sewer system or something similar was emptied in the jacuzzi. It smelled so bad that we were transferred to another room. This room was comparable to a sauna, very unfortunate (air conditioning broken). The pool is full of animals. We have therefore left. SO DO NOT GO FOR THIS HOTEL. Front desk woman was nice.
Nice hotel, delicious food in the hotel. Unfortunately, the reservation for the restaurant didn't work out. We had reserved and unfortunately didn't get a seat. Had to wait almost an hour and a half for the meal because we had been forgotten. Got free pre and desserts as compensation.
If you are looking for a nice country hotel in a quiet location, you will find it here. The consistently friendly and equally helpful staff, the harmonious decor of the rooms and the calm and serenity that exudes the hotel and the surrounding area have to be positively emphasized.
Unfortunately, our room was in poor condition. The jacuzzi had cracks in the floor, the jets were replaceable and after use a brown film of dirt formed, which made you think about using it again. There was abrasion from furniture on several walls, along with heavy soiling from previous guests and also heavy dust pollution. Unfortunately, this impression continues with the balcony, which has not been cleaned for a long time and on which moss was found everywhere. If you then let yourself be carried away to take a closer look, you notice moldy ceilings in the entrance area and cobwebs and dust everywhere - all things that you don't expect from you and in a 4-star hotel.
Still 3 stars, because the willingness to serve and the friendliness of the staff made us feel comfortable.
Hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet place. We had it through Traveldeal, two nights including 2x breakfast and 1x 3-course surprise menu. The room was fine, a bit dated (eg some cracks in the jacuzzi), but really good price / quality. Same for breakfast, sometimes there was something on, but after indicating that it was refilled. The 3-course dinner was good, good food and excellent service.
All in all, a great stay for a weekend of affordable luxury. As long as you don't expect to be treated like a God for this money, you're going to enjoy it.
The Ambiance was funny, the food left something to be desired! You can say a bit scanty. Twice about a wrong bill! We had ordered a flat water with our wine and charged 5.50 on the bill as a bottle of mineral water, this is of course not possible! Not for us again, too bad.

Easter brunch done. Was nice weather and therefore sat outside on the terrace. Tasty dishes, nice view and when we all started to be full the dessert buffet still came! Nice, cozy and delicious!
Very relaxing environment. Old farm building is totally renovated to accomodate hotel guests with luxury 2 person Hot tubs and beds. High ceilings every where give a feeling of space and calm.
When my wife and I celebrated our wedding weekend here, it initially seemed like an okay hotel (I can't say it's a very nice hotel). Checked in and we went to watch a movie in the evening to recover a few things. However, another couple turned out to be celebrating their marriage and they had their music on so loud that we had to turn up the TV. Later when we went to bed, the music stayed on until after 0:00, so we were unable to sleep well.
The breakfast was nice and relatively extensive if you stay there for a weekend. We then looked for peace and quiet in the area, a path right in front of the hotel. This was a pretty nice area. When we came back in the evening, we again suffered from a marriage that took place in the evening until after 0:00.
When we left we reported this to the reception, who didn't have much to report besides okay. Later I sent an email about it, in their response they also did not show that they are going to do something with it or that they had respect for it. During the e-mail they said that they had emailed 2 days in advance and that music was being played in the evening and that this was more than sufficient, whatever your situation, to exclude you and find another hotel. After a fairly long slow e-mail exchange, in which, in my opinion, there were no good arguments on their part, they admitted they were wrong and they offered a bottle of bubbles on my next night (which I had to pay for myself), I said no . Then they said that I was entitled to a reimbursement of around 100 euros, only that they would not give this because it would not give a good atmosphere. I hereby proposed to give the money to a good cause so that they could show that they were really sorry, they ignored this proposal.
In addition to the whole hassle, it was an okay hotel with, in my opinion, a poor price / quality ratio. I recommend not to stay a whole week, a weekend can be fun.
I do not give this hotel 1 star yet, the rooms were filthy, the toilet could not be flushed, lime around the jacuzzi inc hair that you get there, the entrance ceiling was about to collapse, dogs just walk around in the restaurant, you park in a mud bath really a dirty thing of a hotel we have made the best of it but never again, if people are looking for a hotel this is not the answer. just a dirty old thing, you can send me an email for photos if you consider using this hotel, me and my girlfriend have experienced a lot and for us this was an expensive weekend we expected more .i have taken pictures
Very nice hotel with a wonderful jacuzzi with rain shower and nice breakfast. Good place if you want to relax! Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet environment and definitely worth repeating.
Overall, nice quaint hotel, the jacuzzi in the room is great. The mattresses were in our room but too soft and worn and the staff partly not at the front desk to reach, so we waited for a long time despite ringing at the front desk on our keys and finally had to search staff. The breakfast was not great, there was little selection of cold meats. Good location, a visit to Winschoten is recommended!
Was not impressed with the location (we were the only customers in a very large, fairly bare, uninviting space) and the finger food at the high tea (sandwiches and cake) were moderate with little variation and taste. People are very friendly here.

The bathroom of ours had mold and there were some silver fish in the bathroom and bedroom. The balcony was very dirty and there was still leaves available. After the first night we have punctually brought our breakfast to the room but it was not picked up again and the room was not cleaned, only when demand at 19.30 o'clock the tray was cleared away from the breakfast. The next morning (2nd night) is unfortunately no breakfast on the room and without requests we would have no breakfast, it was simply forgotten. The jacuzzi is very noisy and you do not really relax. Staff very friendly and the breakfast was good and adequate, the dinner in the house was not so good and very expensive. I told the staff on departure from my review ... A compensation or price come contrary of course there was not. All in one I would not recommend this hotel and would not book again. I expected something different for this price range
Great exceptional hotel with jacuzzi in the room. Very clean, good mattresses and freshly baked breads for breakfast. Dinner at the hotel also delicious. All around ideal for relaxing.
We spent two nights in this hotel in mid-September. What a drama.
The building itself looks beautiful; the rooms are large, the bed is comfortable and the hotel is wonderfully quiet. It was unfortunate that the entire property was covered with cobwebs and that no one bothered to take it away before guests were received.
The jacuzzi was enjoyable, but it really needs to be replaced. Half the bubbles were not working, the jacuzzi had all kinds of cracks and the tap water ranged from freezing cold to very hot. We reported this to the front desk, of course, but the girl on duty assumed "we wouldn't mind that the jacuzzi barely worked."
Breakfast was simple but acceptable. Especially the first day this was rather sparse, we arrived well within the "breakfast hours" but at that time there were only 7 sandwiches to choose from. There was also no hot food, except for an egg and a piece of bacon (which by the way were already finished the first day).
The peace in this hotel is brutally disturbed by the parties they organize here. The hotel is very old and noisy. This way we could fully understand the conversations of the neighbors in our room. However, the parties made a lot more noise. If you are going to a hotel to relax for a while, I definitely recommend that you look further. The basses thundered through the hotel and in our room it was not even possible to watch television, let alone sleep. We really had a terrible first night because of this.
We have reported to the reception that we had enormous inconvenience from the parties. They responded that they had sent an email 4 days ago to all guests who have booked. 4 days before your stay you can expect an email at this hotel that your quiet getaway is being ruined by a party they organize. At that moment, I have already taken time off from work, arranged a babysitter, reserved a restaurant or booked an outing. In my opinion, coming up with such an announcement 4 days in advance is really unacceptable, especially given the enormous inconvenience that the hotel guests experience as a result and see 4 days in advance there is still something else to be found ..
However, the hotel had no understanding or apologies for the inconvenience; even when I checked out when I asked if anything had been done with my comment / complaint, they responded that they had actually not paid any attention to this anymore. When we once again submitted our story by e-mail, we also received the response that they have emailed it 4 days in advance and have no further message about the complaint, apparently this hotel does not care at all whether guests are having a good time or not .
And in addition, the rooms in the hotel are really on the expensive side, in my opinion a value for money of nothing. This is a hotel that does not think from the guest's point of view at all, is not there for the guest and delivers real tinkering given the price that is charged for a stay. I advise everyone to look a little further and to ignore this hotel. Funny detail: the logo of the hotel says 5-stars, but this hotel actually only has 4 stars (which is not worth it at all). The 5 stars are "simply nicer in the logo", according to the reception employee. Scammers. Never again for us.
This is a very good hotel with very good facilities for a small, niche-market hotel.
There are some small details missing which would make the experience even better, like: 1) wine/beverage card with options and prices on restaurat, 2) tissue papers on toilet, 3) "do not disturb" signs for doors, 4) plastic bags for dirty clothes, 5) fresh fruits for breakfast, 6) 24h service that really is there (they say they have 24h but our experience is that they dont).
The most disturbing thing that we found was that we ordered a delivery pizza one night (from an external pizza delivery service) and we asked for 1 knife to cut our pizza - for this they charged us a EUR 5 "service fee", which we thought was unscrupulous.
Have eaten there, just wasn't eating away !!!! Meat with so much fat that our dog wouldn't even want it! Service from Mr. was just rude. Are better than they are! First class accusation. Would definitely not recommend them to friends.
The Landgoed Westerlee is located in the hinterland of Groningen and pleases with its location and its interior ambience. The hotel itself offers stylish and sophisticated furnishings in all publicly accessible areas. The restaurant, or rather the brasserie, is the highlight. Quality and friendliness are not only considered visually, but also in terms of taste.
The breakfast is extensive and fresh.
I would like to highlight the receptionist on the day of departure, Wednesday, September 26th, 2018, who was able to at least make up for something with her honestly dismayed nature, friendliness and her apology due to our criticism.
Well, pretty much everything that is not publicly accessible is no longer so great. So almost everything that you mainly pay for. When you come into the room, everything looks great at first glance. Great facilities, stylish, beautiful bed.
But disillusionment quickly spreads.
If you sit down on the bed you know: the thing is old, ancient. The mattress is actually no longer and no longer deserves this name. It continues with dusty lamps, uncleaned outdoor areas, unsightly and falling apart jacuzzi, calcified showers and stains that can be wiped away without any problems. Here it becomes quickly and unpleasantly clear why the 4-star hotel has already lost one star and is headed towards losing another.
The reaction of the receptionist on Tuesday was also a cheek, when we made these deficiencies really very friendly for the first time and asked them to fix them. It happened exactly after an arrogant dismissal: NOTHING!
For a nice couple's vacation or even, as with us, a honeymoon, completely unsuitable.
Nice estate. We were escorted to our room. Equal piece of history. Nice to know. Don't know if I can say it like that, but think it's a very luxurious b & b. Staying at someone's home but without noticing that it is at someone's home. Yes, there is something to be said about the path. But on the other hand if that's the only one. Nicely bubbled. Soft beds. King size. I love it. What you don't have at home.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful hotel and will definitely be back. The whole place is enchanting and the hotel exudes a pleasant calm, everything looks unpretentiously elegant - just perfect. We felt very comfortable. Also the food in the Brasserie + the breakfast were great.
All in all a few really relaxing days. In addition to the large jacuzzi in the room, the 4 cute dogs, which are always on the ground floor for petting, are probably the most missing. Bye for now! <3 #Perfection
