Today we did high tea with a few comrades at Landgoed Westerlee. The welcome was excellent, perhaps the best of our entire visit. We received a jug of hot water (the chic teapot went to the neighbors) with a box full of Lipton tea varieties. We had that at home too, last week at AH in the bonus. Then the delicacies came on the table, served on the classic snack turrets. I had used the bread from the sandwiches that same morning to do the dishes, it was so spongy. Salmon was ok. We soon discovered that the entire arsenal of snacks had been taken directly from the freezer and was still defrosting above the fireplace (which was completely fake) before our arrival. You could still hear the freezer hum from our table. Moderate, we thought. Whoever wonders where the cakes and sandwiches come from: the Sligro. Can't miss. While we were quietly eating the ready-made school camp food decades ago, 3 dogs suddenly entered the dining room. And let one of us be allergic to those animals. Bah. By the way, the same person had an allergy to nuts and seeds. Upon inquiry, these were found to be in the 'muffins', according to the servant, while they were processed in the brownies. "Yes, but not in those cakes!" The clerk had clearly had a tough evening. Just before we wanted to go for a drink, we ordered a cappuccino as a closing. At least, that's what we wanted, because first we had to wait another half hour before we were asked anything. In the end the 'cappuccino' turned out to be nothing more than an unfiltered extract of the sea water from the Dollard. Downright disgusting.

Very nice staff, very good food to be recommended, unfortunately in the evening the Jakuzi was broken there was no hot water anymore. Unfortunately, no compensation or discount. No one had said anything in the morning. Only after we asked for it was said that it has not yet been repaired. But otherwise everything is very good. We would love to come back

Today we did a high tea that we gave friends for their 30th wedding anniversary. A truly beautiful location and a very friendly welcome with a delicious high tea.
Despite the fact that the reservation could not be found, we were very welcome.
I indicated the reason for our gift both when booking by phone and this afternoon at the reception. Both times it was said that they could do something with it, but unfortunately 0.0.
And I was quite shocked by the price of a glass of Prosecco.

Absolutely beautiful. Great and rustic furnished. Furnishing style from the 19th Century. Whirlpool in almost every room and the brasserie in a rustic style. Only the mattresses were too soft.

Beautiful room with a bathroom so large that you can learn to dance in it. Good breakfast buffet. We have been 1 night, were in transit. Only downside: the upstairs neighbors had a jacuzzi in their room and they thought to turn on at 11.15 pm, unfortunately that caused quite a bit of noise.

air conditioning was available .. along with a balcony .. that was nice.

Furthermore, the breakfast was not tasty .. no knives .. caps of the jacuzzi floated to the top. Host does not wish you a pleasant stay and you will not receive any information about the facilities / breakfast times. 4 beers, 2 wine 33 euros. never again..

For the second time received very kindly for going through our wedding plans. They really thought along with us and really a lot is possible. We have also seen good impression photos. Super! We can not wait.

The room has a mini fridge and a safe. No coffee or tea, which is a shame. The TV has only channels programmed together. This is an excellent place for guests traveling with dogs. Dogs greet you and your four-legged friend cheerfully at the reception.

We stayed here for 2 days
because of the jacuzzi that some rooms have. Spacious
Jacuzzi for two with LED lighting.

The evening meal in the restaurant area was good although the menu is a bit small. Merlot wine is also available by the glass and the rest only by the bottle. Vegi / Vega very limited on the menu.

The cafe area looks a bit dark but for a drink cozy and spacious with a bar.

Breakfast until 8:00 am to 10:00 am - 10:30 am There is a Dutch buffet with crackers, rusk, bread with filling tubs.
hot breakfast can be eggs and bacon.
Nice breakfast there but unfortunately the coffee came from warming tank with tap.

For rest and relaxation
or walking the dog an excellent location. On the other side of the road is already a walking path with a 5 km route.

So if you travel with a dog, this is highly recommended ... are you allergic? then there is a "hotel route" 30min further in Germany.

Recommended for relaxing and dog lovers. Staff is the friendliest and service-oriented.

Very unpleasant hotel. Extreme noise pollution from the jacuzzis. These might 'not be completely level' anymore. Situation tackled very unprofessionally by the otherwise otherwise unhelpful staff. Food was also not special. We advise everyone not to go here.

on the photos a very nice location and good looking whole,

unfortunately nothing is less true!

arrival .. parking on a piece of grass with potholes and bumps and when it rains 1 large mud gang.

Walking to the lobby with the dog we are greeted unfriendly by the 4 stray dogs of the owner who are raging with my 4ren against my dog and it almost ends up in a fight (my dog was on a lead)

made a comment about this right that I did not like it and would be paid attention to, unfortunately this happened again.

kindly helped to the room.

room was full with spinnerag (high ceiling) socket in the bathroom hung half off the wall, stucco in the bathroom above the jacuzzi was crumbled, kitrand of the jacuzzi was just gone / loose.
edge of the jacuzzi was just dirty brown as if it had not been cleaned for a long time.

I walked back to the reception, the gentleman walked with me back to the room where I pointed him to things, and indicated that something had to be done but the spinning day they could not with cleaning .. well then you buy as a company being a telescope or something?

was assigned another room after fifteen minutes.

unfortunately it was the same song in the other room, stucco was cracked throughout the room, rim was filthy dirty, stucco in the bathroom was crumbled and a large damp spot, cobwebs here and there.

the breakfast:

there were some sandwiches just bread dried out the slice of cheese had a hard yellow border all around as if it had been left open in the fridge for a day.
Orange juice was good and fresh.
breakfast was unfortunately very limited.

very noisy in the bedrooms ... neighbors went 3:00 in the jacuzzi and that was and clearly told where we finally woke up.

in our opinion very much overdue, and not an experience that I want to experience again.

I advise people to think again before booking this.
for the owner I hope that she will do something with it soon otherwise I see it gloomy for this hotel.

The stay was good but certainly not 4 star. The whirlpool was very outdated and was leaking from the shower head. Moisture stains on the wall and headboard of the bed. Edge of the mirror was a dust nest. Air conditioning neatly present. Verders spacious room and large bed. 3 course surprise menu was not good. Meat was tough and fatty. Long waiting time. However, indicated to the employee, could get a different main course, but we did not want to have to wait 1 hour again. Dessert came faster. Breakfast is fine but not 4 star either. Canned apricots and a white coffee cup for tea. Employees friendly. I got fresh mint tea from glass for free.

The staff is absolutely friendly and courteous. You cannot leave or enter the hotel from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Incomprehensible. There is a sauna but neither a relaxation room nor loungers. The 'fun' then costs 5 more per person. It will actually have been a luxury room, about 15 years ago. The whirlpool tub is a bit worn and looks really unappetizing. The rooms could use a coat of paint. The food is You go out of your way to do it with a lot of effort. However, it really needs to be renovated. The price is absolutely overpriced and in no way justified. Even the super great staff cannot change that.

We were here for a long weekend in mid-August and had a wonderful time. Great service, great room, great food. The building is old, but that's the charm. Look around you (we were invited to do so) and enjoy all the original elements in the house (such as the tiles) and the atmosphere. Only drawback is that it is in no man's land. You really do need a car to get anywhere, in our opinion. Incidentally, we took advantage of an offer, which really gave us the feeling that we got our money's worth.

An incredibly great place for newly in love or couples who just want to enjoy their love. Definitely a real smash hit with the in-house hot tub. The bed was very comfortable and huge. The staff was also very friendly. At breakfast I would have liked a bit more choice. Which is definitely not worth a point deduction.
To anyone only to be recommended.

I try to be as objective as possible here. We stumbled upon this property through a Groupon campaign and booked a weekend including a 4-course menu. The surroundings and the small town of Westerlee are picturesque. The Landgoed is easy to find. The parking lot is perfectly in order at the back of the house, free of charge car everything is perfect. The hotel is super nice in the lower area. The bar area, the old house, old floors - a dream if you like that. Here, too, quite clearly, you can't "renovate dead" everything.

To the room as indicated with a large whirlpool for 2, large bed, tiled floor. In our eyes absolutely clean and tidy.

What you can read here in other reviews is reflected in the fact that pretty much all the walls are white and they have signs of use, so it doesn't look so clean, it starts in the stairwell and then stops in the room.

Mattresses ... everyone lies and beds differently for me, definitely way too soft ...

The dinner: In the wonderful old house with its traces of use it doesn't have to be more rustic or cozy.
We found the food delicious, we were full and everything was very nicely presented.
In my opinion, the breakfast was absolutely fine, everything was there, I might have expected great cheese from the country in Holland, but that's a matter of opinion.

What was noticeable was that there was not much staff during the entire period. They were very busy, so that after dinner the great bar without a permanent bartender was a shame ....

An absolute no-go for me from my job was a power supply to the television that was patched with luster terminals.
In theory it doesn't matter because it didn't work, but that doesn't work. In the USA if you were electrocuted you would be a millionaire (if you survived).

Conclusion:
Ambience 5 stars
Room 3 stars
Food 4 stars
Technology 1 star
Walls 2 stars
Service 3 stars

Makes 3 stars for the Landgoed Westerlee.

We would like to go back again.

Yesterday we had a nice High Tea which was intended as a present.
Upon arrival, the appearance of the building and garden was a bit disappointing, not as beautiful as in the photos. From the outside, the top floor could use a lick of paint, the driveway is a mud puddle with large holes, the garden is full of leaves and the grass on the paths is very high, the tile paths are scattered and crooked, and the gravel paths are overgrown with weeds. .. Too bad, a walk afterwards would have been fun.
When we entered there was initially no one to be seen, a little later a gentleman came who we did not find so friendly because there was quite a discussion about whether or not to book properly, then we were brought to our table and it was announced that we sat down because of a "private" wedding. The conservatory was quite a cozy place, only the upholstery of the chairs could use a makeover, and we did not find beer mats under the table legs really fancy.
The food was fine, and the girl serving us was friendly. The handle of the teapot where the hot water was brought was broken, sloppy. Unfortunately, you also have to ask for another pot of hot water if the previous one is empty. While the etagiare with cold snacks is still on the table and we haven't finished it yet, a plate of warm snacks is unceremoniously added ... Were they in a hurry? In the meantime, it is not asked whether it is satisfactory, or whether something needs to be added (snacks or hot water).
The other ladies in the room who also did a High Tea had a different composition from us, we thought weird because you mention what you get on the site.
While we were still having dinner, people walked back and forth quite fanatically in the room to get all the chairs, then there were only bare tables, not very cozy.
Once finished we walked towards the exit, where then again no one was there to greet or wish you a good day, not very neat we think.

Unfortunately, no next time for us.

The staff was friendly but some a little indecisive in the language. Some of the discussions were held in German, English and Dutch. Basically a lot of fun for us, but it could lead to confusion for other guests. The hotel itself was very nice (it used to be a barn, in which the hotel was practically rebuilt) and the room was great. Big bed, balcony and even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The breakfast was also extensive and the dinner delicious.
One point deduction, since everything is noisy and improvements here and there would be nice.
Generally recommended. Especially if you want to go on holiday in the country.

At first glance really nice and interesting. But unfortunately the first impression did not last long. Dust, chipped paint, floor mold stains in the entrance area. Heating did not work, staff endeavored to get the room warm. Breakfast was unimaginative and careless. Little dishes on the menu in the restaurant. Besides, pretty expensive. No card at the bar, no cocktails.

Service was very good. Nice helpful people.

Service was very good. Nice helpful people.
Hotel has probably skipped some maintenance, since the quality of the equipment is declining.
Jacuzzi in the room is a very big plus and possibly the reason we might return.
Wifi is bad to very bad
Airconditioning wasn't working in the room. They put in a mobile Airco Unit which helped against the heat, but was very noisy.
Breakfast was simple, but functional.
All in all a good experience, but not the 5 stars experience that's advertised.
