Let's get the NOT so good out of the way. It is small. The bathroom is tiny. But it's usable. The tub wouldn't hold water so there was NO soaking old bones after walking all day. No real dresser space for clothes. The bed....OMG!!! That bed is heaven. So wonderfully prefect and snuggly. The valet and front desk staff are exceptional. The restaurant a bit spendy but very handy. All in all it was a good trip. More than I have ever paid for a hotel but it was our anniversary so we splurged a bit. Probably would stay somewhere with a pool and hot tub next time.

Have stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions. I much appreciate the quality of the facilities, but first and foremost the personal and friendly service by the staff at the Hotel. A hotel to recommend being for business or for pleasure.
The places is loud. The room has not sounds installations at all. I can hear everything from next door. Every time other rooms open and close the door, my door was shaking like someone is knocking on the door. Canceled my next reservation right away.
Tiny room, tiny bathroom, tiny elevator, hip place though. Wouldn't choose it again but some folks will fall in love with it. The happy hour is nice. The room won't get dark with the shades they use. There are no clothing drawers, but I'm probably one of the only people that ever use those. The employees were awesome.
Clean hotel with interesting art. If you like free beer, this is your place. If you like spacious rooms, this is not the place for you. Great for one average sized person though!
Low quality / price ratio. There are several negative aspects: the room is not silent, the windows are very thin and it seems to be in the street. Even the walls do not isolate the rooms at all from each other. The bathroom honestly unpresentable (see photo). One day they did not make my room again, even after I had pointed it out to them in the afternoon. There is no possibility to have breakfast. The wifi was very weak and disconnected continuously. Positive notes: central position bed. For $ 185 a night better in Seattle.
Very nice hotel right off Stewart and 7th. Valet parking and free beer hour (5:30-6:30) are serious pluses. The rooms are rather small, and the elevators are the smallest in Seattle, so prepare to get cozy with other patrons and struggle with a stroller if you have a little one. Overall, very welcoming and nice place to stay!
A friendly and accommodating stay highlights this hip chic hotel. The craft beer happy hour is a social and welcoming event for all, with board games at the ready to make new friends. A great location helps distract from the relatively modest rooms, wish ate appointed well, while being average in size for a bit city. I'd definitely stay here again!
I love the location of the hotel, I think for those that are looking for something that is close to downtown and close to transit and more this is perfect.
The staff seems friendly for sure, they serve fresh coffee every morning and i think some donuts(?) and the hotel lobby features a large sitting area with board games and water pitcher/ gum machine. The decour is punky, rock/glam style and it's clean and modern on the inside of the room.
The room itself is stocked with snacks and drinks for a premium price, so beware of that, but everything is listed on a sheet for reference.
The room itself is basically just big enough, there is a desk and chair and the bed but don't expect more than that. The walls are thin, so if you happen to have annoying or loud neighbors you might need to have some words. The bathroom is tiny, just a small sink and for some reason a tub (who uses these still? standing shower would have made more sense given the space) if you try and have the door open, it can feel crowded. I personally liked the soaps and lotions they supplied though, good scents. Overall a nice experience but a little expensive, granted you're getting a modern/updated experience
The location is close to the shopping district as well as other tourist attractions. Our room is spacious even though the bathroom is a bit small. Friendly staff and great service.
Great location, just on the edge of downtown. Smaller rooms, but comfortably furnished and clean. Free beer during arrival for happy hour was a nice surprise!
The rooms have barely enough space for the bed. I'm not a big guy and I was constantly hitting my elbows in the shower. The desk power ports didn't work at all.
Old hotel recently remodeled to very nice condition. Rooms are very small but you can get by if you put all your stuff in the closet. Bathrooms are so very small - no taking showers with your significant other. Window air conditioners were better than nothing but noisy as expected. Pricepoint is why we stayed here and would stay here again for that reason. $30/day to park in the lot across the street.
The craft beer service from the evening went every day. The staff was good. I went by train from the airport. We are in Westlake. There was a restaurant around and was saved.
Loud rooms that aren't super comfortable with outdated air conditioning make it hard to sleep but it's in a good location and they provide free beer on draft every evening
The service was excellent, and valet parking was very convenient, since it is difficult to find a place to park in that area. Excellent location of the hotel, the room "Modern QUEEN" would be a bit tight for two people, but it was more than adequate for one person. They offer a "Happy Hour" every evening in the lobby with free local and craft beers, and set up table games so that people can have fun while enjoying their drink. Everything was clean and neat, and I loved the "Lather" bath products they offer. The only negative comment, and this is not the fault of the hotel staff at all, is that in the morning while leaving the hotel and waiting for me to bring the car, a man arrived or drugged or mentally ill to the lobby, asking for money. I told him no because it is not my custom to give cash to anyone and he verbally harassed me and threatened me to the point that the hotel staff were forced to call the police. As a woman traveling alone, I am very grateful that the hotel staff lent to protect me and do what was necessary to ensure my safety, but given the location of the hotel and the nature of downtown Seattle, it is increasingly common that there are people unprotected, addicted or mentally ill that approach you, and can be very aggressive. Be careful in this city.
Trendy, hip hotel. Request the top floor if you prefer a quieter environment. Coffee in the mornings but no free breakfast. Great location, easy walk to many attractions.
I dig this place, I travel to Seattle work and always stay here. It's usually the cheapest in the area, rooms are clean, staff is super friendly. The gym is fairly nice for a small hotel as well, they have a peloton bike which is super nice. walking distance from the touristy stuff and easy to get to public transit.
The staff is fantastic, rates are really good but the rooms are TINY! My office is on Olive street so the location is good for that reason, otherwise I would stay somewhere else for a larger room and bathroom experience. Traffic was loud in the AM .
This is my 3rd time staying at Hotel Max and I'm beginning to think it's not worth it. The location is great, the staff is friendly but, the price never seems to match what you are getting. I understand the charm of it being an older building, however it's $40 a day to park at the hotel (valet only) which I'm sure is due to lack of space in a downtown area, however, there is also an additional $20.00 a day fee for facilities? I'm wondering what facilities they are referring to? The gym is 2 treadmills and a bike and some free weights, the beer hour is only beer which isn't great for those you who can't drink beer. So, if I drive, I'm paying an additional $60 a day on top of the nightly fee. That's not competitive, that's just harsh.
The place is not bad, but the rooms are dark, tiniest bathroom that makes hard to use the sink. Noise from the street as the windows are not soundproof. The rock/grunge theme is great and I loved the turntable in the bedroom and great people at the reception.
Love the happy hour free beer and vinyl records in the room! Phillip, one of the main reception staff members, is so friendly! He remembered my husband and I after meeting us for five minutes when we checked in and chatted with us over beers at happy hour. Many other reviews complain about small bathrooms, and they're definitely small, but honestly how much room do you really need in there? Also an excellent location right in downtown!
My stay at Hotel Max was fantastic! Kate at the front desk was friendly and accommodating at check-in. We arrived early, so while we were waiting for our room to be cleaned, she even offered us a local beer to try while passing the time. She also helped us with information about where to eat and places to see. We also had a wheelchair delivered to the hotel to use during our stay, and the whole process went without a hitch. Kate even remembered my name every time I came down to ask a question. I will also mention Mike, the building engineer, was so helpful and friendly. He even assisted my boyfriend, who has a walking disability, get into a vehicle since he was having a little trouble. We feel like we made friends with both Kate and Mike.
Fun hotel! Stayed on the Sub Pop floor where the room had a turntable and a small selection of vinyls. The room was clean and the bed was soft. The staff was really friendly and helpful plus the have a convenient text based support system for quick questions. The lobby had great music and boardgames to play or borrow. Would easily recommend.
Overall great experience. Very friendly employees, and the happy hour beers are wonderful. Very comfortable room and they do a lot to make sure you are happy. 4 stars instead of 5 because they were 30 minutes late with my 6 am wake up call the first morning.
Hotel location is excellent, just blocks from the convention center, with easy access to restaurants and other Seattle sights. The black paint on the walls is odd, making each floor dark and sketchy looking. Still, my room was clean and comfortable and I slept well.
Totally overpriced. It's not a bad hotel, but it is really basic, with poor acoustic insulation (the 1st night I could not sleep due to the garbage truck noise and the ventilator system). Bathrooms are super tiny. Apart from that, the bed is comfortable, the staff is efficient and the rooms are clean. I also did not like the theme of the hotel, found it a bit dark.
Smallest room in the world! Seriously, I'm not claustrophobic but this room was unbearable. The bed was awful. Way too unsupportive. Front desk was dull. Even for the free beverages, I wouldn't stay here again. I wouldn't stay here again, even though they promote such a pinnacle cusp in music history. I wouldn't stay here again. I booked their bigger, full room and it was "under maintenance" so they put me in a smaller room and claimed it was the same size that I had paid for. My whole experience here was underwhelming. I would suggest StayPineapple or Days Inn, honestly.
Great location, minutes away from Pike Place Market. Enjoyed the decorations inside the rooms, lobby and in the hallways. Vintage hotel feel with art everywhere. Free gumballs are cool too. Staff was very helpful. Beds comfy. Enjoyed our stay.
The location is convenient to walk down to Pike's or the city center area. The rooms are serviceable and cozy. On closer inspection of the outlets and fixtures, it does appear a little dated and my bathroom smells of mildew or something. However, if you're not staying in your room all day these things have little impact-what matters is the staff are friendly and accommodating, they offer local beer and coffee each day, and they are dog friendly. For all these considerations I think they are priced reasonably and were a unique experience.
I really liked the decor and they had free beer ! The bathrooms were too small even by a downtown hotel standard though, you could barely take a shower without hitting the wall.
A very chic and welcoming hotel in a great location! Guest service was amazing and very helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable, practical, and had an artistic touch. Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to stay downtown. The complimentary craft beer hour was a great touch as well.
I enjoyed the staff. They wear whatever they want, which was a bit off putting at first, but made me feel welcome and comforting. It's a hip hotel with a music theme. They even have their own Sub-Pop shop.
Great location! Walking distance to almost everything you need. Food, drinks, grocery, herbal store ;) and more. Love the feel and vibe of this place. I would not stay anywhere else when visiting Seattle.
This hotel is awful. It is not a 4 star hotel and definitely not worth the price. My room is like a dorm room where the shower and the toilet are separated and the shower only has a shower curtain like those in the gym. The carpet is dirty and night stand has wine stains.
A wonderful boutique hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Stay was comfortable and convenient. The only blemish on my stay was the sudden increase in room price a few days before the trip.
Every single staff member here is authentic and offers help with any aspect of your stay -the rooms are smallish but clean and efficient with everything you could possibly need -even a key to a small mini bar and some of the best coffee and teas I ve ever had in Seattle! Wall Outlets in abundance and free beer at their Happy Hours starting at 430pm. Cheers!
Just as a heads up, there is an extra $20/night charge they don t mention until you checkout.
That additional amount makes it the same price as everyone else, but it is a little deceptive they don t tell you about the amenities fee when booking.
Upon checkin I knew I was in Love. Arrived to a comp beer and a happy Host aka Front Desk clerk. Gave me great directions to the Theater, a super short walk, with Dinner tips on the way. Helpped with parking issues(Best tip for ease, valet parking is truly the best way). Sleep and go check out. Cannot wait to go back
If you own a dog and looking for a place to stay in Seattle this place is wonderful. Super nice staff and very clean. And free beer hour where your dog can stay beside you
We came to dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. We are knowledgeable diners and were delighted to find that attention is paid to the smallest details. The food was excellent with generous portions, good wine and tasty desserts. Front of house service was professional and polite. Worth the higher price, will go on our short list for special nights out.
