I passed through the outside of Hotel del Coronado. The location was really nice - right next to the beach and near plenty of restaurants and stores. I spoke to a representative at the movie and smores area - he was friendly and helpful.

fantastic place.

probably the best brunch i've ever had, but i couldn't give 5 stars because of value. definitely expensive at $125 / person.

Went to the ice skating rink, which was great. It's a bit on the smaller side, but the view of the hotel and the beach is great. It's a bit overpriced, but that's expected on Coronado Island.

My kids and I stayed here on our first ever trip to San Diego area. Lot did good things about the place. It's beautiful and historic. The location is amazing - right on the beach, in the middle of downtown Coronado with all the great dining options, short Uber ride to ferry landing or directly to the city. All in all we had a great time.

The hotel is in the midst of updating which is very much needing. The section of rooms we were in was very outdated. Also they need to fix the check-in and check-out process. Both at checkin and checkout we were maybe 2 or 3 people in line but it took 30 minutes to get to the desk because the desk was severely understaffed. If they fixed a couple things this would easily be a five star experience

Had to carry our bags in the rain. Were directed to "Ocean View" towers a quarter mile away thru a construction zone. When asking for assistance with our luggage in the rain were offered a umbrella and a smirk. Rooms were sub Hotel 6 with a view of a construction zone.
Hugely disappointed.

There is something special about this place. My wife and I were celebrating our 6th year anniversary and had a blast. Romantic, nice grounds, ocean view room and a king size bed!

Most of the day was spent on beach chairs staring, out into the ocean, And doing absolutely nothing but enjoyed my wife.

We were able to enjoy a 1st class dinner at the hotel, the staff was fantastic.. This was the 1st time in a few months that we felt complete normalcy. Couples were out, kids were out, dogs are welcome, live music, and great drinks(soda), my wife did mention that the margaritas were quite good.

Always an amazing experience during the Holiday season. Lights, music, Smores on the beach, ice skating - all just makes it special. Park nearby and walk over, meters free through Christmas and parking (or valet) at hotel is ridiculously high. Plus it is fun to see outlying areas of the decorations.

So this review only applies to my visit for the holiday... I didn't spend the night. We did enjoy visiting this San Diego icon all decorated for Christmas... It's always just beautiful. We wondered through the shops, grabbed a drink at Babcock and Story, and watched people ice-skate. The sandcastle is especially good this year. Im not a big fan of the upside down Christmas tree, but they didn't ask me!

Overall experience was 3 stars. When we got there our reservation was not showing up. We booked through travelup which I would not recommend. Initially we were treated like I made the booking mistake. They were completely booked so they setup a room at Lowe s which was the next best thing and the night manager said they would call us by noon the next day after following up with travelup. Fast forward next day no call. Finally by 4 the next day they figured things out with Travelup and got us our room the second day. The hotel is cool to walk around and the beach was nice. I would advise management not to use travelup. It made the first day of our honeymoon extremely stressful. I realize Travelup dropped the ball but that should be taken into account with your overall Hilton guest experience. I ll be honest I feel like between Lowe s, travelup and Hilton Lowes treated us the best. We ended up staying there after time here.

I live in San Diego, I went to the beach at the Hotel Del Coronado for my 77th birthday on September 17, 2020.
I wanted to rent an umbrella, and I went to the rental location where Jay helped me.
He was so very courteous and friendly.
His brother carried the umbrella to where I was sitting, and arranged it for me, and said to let him know if I needed anything else.
Great service!

Been here several times and regret it each time. The place is ridiculously overpriced for the room qualities, food and general service. The service is so lackluster it is hard to believe this is a 4 star hotel. Always disappointed.

Breathtaking describes this resort. It is always a pleasure and treat to visit. Over the years, the property has expanded, which improved the amenities and total number of rooms. The property is immaculately maintained throughout the grounds, shops, restaurants, hallways, and stairways. Check-in in the main building, which leads you to the rooms, gardens, ballroom, conference rooms, patio, deck, and shops. Rooms, suites and cottages will accommodate one to twelve overnight guests. The pathway outdoors leads you directly to the private cottages and beach. You can rent bicycles along the boardwalk. Enjoy a casual meal, snack or formal dining options from coffee, cocktails, sandwiches, pizza, ice cream, pastries, or seafood and/or steak. My family and I will come back for sure.

I loved the location of the Del. Rooms need some love and I understand it is an old hotel and gets a lot of use. It is rather noisy with floorboards. So I suggest if you are a light sleeper get a room on the top floor. Other than that it is lovely and the restaurants around the del have great food. Especially the one near the ocean. It has a wonderful view and good food. The location is great and I really enjoy watching the navy flights and ships from the beach.

It was okay. Certainly over priced, but a fun experience nonetheless. Felt like went back in time. I wish it wasn't open to the public, it felt very crowded. Standard room nothing fancy, yet one of the most expensive places we have ever stayed. I must say, I was expecting more.

loved my stay had an amazing experience, beautiful hotel. I have one question i hope someone could help me out with. I would like to know what brand of coffee they use! it is the best tasting coffee i have ever had. I would love to drink it every morning. Any information would be great!

Lovely hotel especially during Christmas time! So fun to walk around and look at all the beautiful decorations and relax on the beach. We always visit during December- it is our family's tradition!

This place is top shelf! We were pleasantly greeted and given an upgrade to a room with an ocean view. The pool and hot tub were immaculate and well taken care of. The restaurant Eno was awesome- service by Cheyenne was great and seating was outside with blankets to keep us warm! My daughter and I took a spin class right on the beach for a morning workout which was awesome as well. Can't say enough good things about this place. Bring a thick pocketbook though because it's pricey!

Everything about the Del is just awesome. From the history, decor and beach to the shops, eateries and staff. All top notch where everyone just falls all over themselves to be helpful. If you are looking for a top shelf experience, then you gotta try this place.

Just walked through it as I saw it off the beach. Beautiful grounds, beautiful hotel, well kept. Didn't stay, so can't comment on that. There are lots of helicopters and planes flying by quite frequently.

This is a beautiful old hotel. Wooden architecture of the late 1800s. Classical woodwork all around. Perfect large beach with soft sand. Plenty of good food options and high end shopping. A must go if visiting San Diego. A good tip is try and find street parking. Generally it is free and will save you 20$.

Nothing luxurious about it. This hotel uses his long gone fame to overcharge prices without giving you a return. Beside the super super ridiculous prices on service and food (a few examples - $100 per person for a Sunday brunch! More then $35 for a small burger!) the hotel has only one pool available which is impossible to get to, the thin wooden walls in the rooms eliminate any sense of privacy as you can hear everything that's going in the other rooms, the staff looked tired and underpaid, the main elevator stops working after 9??! Because it is manually operated and they don't want to pay for a night person to operate it and there are many more reasons why it is so bad and definitely not luxurious.

We stopped in for cocktails on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The outdoor bar was almost full, but we were able to find an open table. Views of the beach are spectacular, which I suppose is the reason for the spectacularly expensive cocktails (expect to pay about $15-20, even for well drinks). Service was fine, especially given the large crowds. We did not have any food, so I can't comment on it, but had an overall good experience despite the price.

Hotel Del is over blown, over price and not nearly as impressive as everyone acts like it is, but it is a must stop in San Diego. Coronado Island as a whole rates much better than 3 stars.

I was there to see a friend. I self parked and saw a sign that it was 3 hours of parking for $5.00. I was there 1 hour and 15 minutes. When I went to pay I was charged $30.00. what a friggin racket for a hotel that is so out of date and historically Guawdy. The ugliest wall paper I have ever seen in my life. I don't care that Marilyn Monroe filmed " Some like it Hot" there 60 yrs. Ago. Class it up a bit Hilton. If your going to charge people to park that much, please swallow the load and don't burp. You frigging rip off! The place is not all that. I've stayed in nicer best westerns where guest parking is free.

How could you not like it? Rising from the beach like a fairy tale castle, endless turrets and restaurants and stores. Crowded on a Saturday afternoon, less than stellar service from one hostess in one restaurant, which prompted the loss of a star.

We have stayed there several times in years past when my kids were much younger. Always magical!
We revisited the Del last recently We dropped by to reminisce and walked around for about an hour . Parking was $60 for one hour. Not feeling the love.
Not terrible, but certainly not as magical as I had recalled.

The hotel itself and the beach around are very nice. However, along the beach path they had portable toilets that smelled terrible and with the sea breeze carrying the aroma, our visit was not the best.

Stopped there after riding bikes through town. Went to the bar next to the pool. Guy playing guitar. He was really good. Had a drink. A little pricey ($9.50) for a beer but you're paying for a resort.

Such a disappointment. It s heyday is long gone, and Hilton has clearly caused the place to go downhill. Overpriced rooms with minimal amenities, overworked staff, customer service nonexistent, upcharges for everything you can possibly think of. Save your money, and enjoy one of their restaurants or cocktail bars instead.

Absolutely Incredible

Absolutely Incredible

We stayed here for a weekend in march. We flew for 6 hour here and it was worth it. They greeted us with a glass of free champagne in our hotel room.

The service is excellent, it kind of reminds me of chick fil a, they always say "My Pleasure", and it is always fast, they really do get the job done

I especially loved the Ice Cream Parlor! Best Ice Cream Ever!

The Beach was great, so clean and nice

Everything in the hotel room was perfect. The view was incredible, we had a balcony and the seagull flew right up to us and ate bread right off our hands! It was incredible. The beds were soft and comfortable!

The location on Coronado is great too! Close to so many restraints and shops, not to mention Downtown SD, The Airport, The Convention Center Etc. Etc.

Overall an incredible experience! Thank You Hotel Del!

Phenomenal historic hotel. There are so many features retained from the original design. It's worth visiting even if not staying. The beach is accessible from the hotel. There are a number of restaurants and shops on the property.

Beautiful, historic hotel built in the late 1800's. Must see if you're in San Diego. The main building and the grounds are gorgeous. Parking inside is super expensive. I would advise you to park on the street. There's lots of affordable metered parking, but there is usually a lot of demand for them.
