High class food and beverages, awesome brunch buffet, great room rates! Great and accommodating staff! Would highly recommend!
I only went to raw bar for happy hour dinner. It was tasty.
A friend of mine was renting a room for the night, we had a drink in the room and then left for a couple of hours. Upon returning to the room, we looked at the counter and saw an unopened can and a small glass about a quarter full that was not something we brought in the room with us. There had obviously been someone else in the room while we were away during those couple of hours (Creepy!)! Once we noticed this, I placed a call to inform the front desk and hopefully have them look into the matter, the man on the telephone was EXTREMELY rude, dismissive and down right unprofessional. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour in a customer service industry such as hospitality. The room had a lot of bugs in the corners (see attached photos) and the bed was in bad condition. I definitely would NOT recommend staying at this hotel. There are plenty of hotels in the Beltline and Downtown and this one takes the cake for worst customer service and well below average rooms.
**UPDATE (next day)**: The hotel called my friend today after seeing my review and said there was a room service mix up and this cup with liquid in it and unopened canned drink were delivered to the wrong room so I wanted to update anyone reading this review on what they mentioned was the cause of these (2) items being left in the room.
**ADDITIONAL UPDATE (next day)**: Last update on this review, I promise! The person who rented the room got down to the bottom of what actually happened. It looks like a friend of theirs called in and had sent that to their room via room service and it was in fact not a room service mix up as originally stated. The one yhkng I would recommend is that the hotel makes notes in their files or leaves a note with the occupant of that room so they are aware and can update the guest accordingly.
Very convenient hotel for your after meeting activities
Was there briefly, the hotel looks amazing. Staff was also amazing
Do NOT leave any valuables in your room. Staff are completely untrustworthy, and management would completely ignore your calls/voicemails and never get back to you. Staying at the hotel was not bad. However, I left a bag of toiletries when we left. I called them right away when I found out and told them to keep it aside for me, I ll pass by and pick it up. When I went to pick it up, it took them forever to retreive, and when they finally did all the valuable products were gone and a raizor and some hair products were left. I asked to speak to a manager because the bottle of Chanel colone and a shaving machine were missing. They said the manager was not available, so I left my number and asked them to let the manager know I m expecting a call. It s been three days, and no one has reached out. When I called them again to ask, they said they will let me know if they find anything. I would ve recommended this hotel before the incident, but clearly staff are not trustworthy. I will never stay at this hotel again, and neither should you. I had better luck finding my missing items at a shopping mall than this hotel. I hope they take this opportunity to teach their staff not to take other people s belongings. I give them 0 stars.
Update: management never got back to me, even a month later.
Wonderful downtown hotel. Great views, excellent rooms. We were lucky and were upgraded to a king suite, which was amazing. Very comfortable place, and a nice layout in the suite.
Hotel bar was very good.
Staff was excellent, very friendly and quick. I would definitely visit here again.
I have never stayed in the hotel itself but have enjoyed the venue for many parties. First class service all the time and has a great atmosphere.
Great staff, great bar, great food. Nice place for a Christmas party.
A typical downtown motel and that's it. Breakfast at Yello bar is pretty good though.
Beautiful spot for our work Christmas party with amazing food, we had a great time here and the hotel is so beautiful.
Service is a bit on the slow side, but it's very enjoyable to sit poolside and hang with friends.
Went to sit by the pool and have some drinks on a hot day. They had a DJ and it was mostly young to middle aged adults hanging out and having a good time. Great spot that I would recommend checking out during the summertime.
Really a great place to host public pool parties and such
I travel for work and this is one of the worst hotels in have ever stayed at. Would NEVER rebook. They were unable to print room keys, so everyone required an escort to their room everytime. Normally I would let this go. Except 6 hours later when I left for dinner, they still could not give me a key. Upon returning my room was ice cold even though being set at 72 degrees. When I called the front desk they sent a maintenance guy who could not fix the heater so they sent up another blanket.
Stay at any other hotel. Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson, gospel mission, any of which would be better.
Oh and in the bar it was a bunch of staff getting wasted. This place blows.
Good hotel, but not in the greatest are of town. Desk staff are great; parking is expensive (additional charge). I had a difficult time getting a copy of the receipt after my stay; emailed receipts come in without any 'hotel arts' in the subject line or email body, but only 'hta'. Difficult to search for those who get a couple hundred email a day - and an easy fix at their end.
Ate at the Vietnamese restaurant, they handled a group of 20 well enough. Would go back but not in a rush.
Excellent hotel, very good attention of the staff, good location.
Attended a few events here now. This time was a wedding. The banquet rooms were nicely appointed, well set up. The dinner was well done, even though the steaks were a tad bit over done at our table and the salads were in desperate need of more dressing. The table and bar service for drinks was great and prices were reasonable for what they were serving. In between the ceremony and reception, we spent some time at raw bar. They were busy with wedding traffic and, since it had started to rain, their patio traffic moved inside as well. Our server, Barnett, handled the influx of people well. You could tell he was busy but he still gave great professional service.
Everything about our stay was fantastic. Dana at the front desk was speedy to check us in, and was more than helpful offering a few places nearby to grab food and great beer. We were very lucky to get an upgrade, but if you can afford a king suite, it seems to be more than worth the extra $$. Great views, comfortable bed, clean modern bathroom, contemporary lounge/lobby, good proximity to the city center and hip neighboring areas, the list goes on. This is at the top of our list for future trips to Calgary. Thank you all for a wonderful stay and introduction to the city.
Fantastic experience on our 4th stay here! The staff was great. Our room was clean and updated. The bed was SUPER comfy! Definitely coming back to stay next time we're in Calgary.
Very nice and comfy place. Rooms are airy and clean. Air conditioners are a bit too noisy and so I really couldn't sleep well.
Attended the Qualico Christmas party at Hotel Arts...always a beautiful venue. The food is always spectacular there and we love the atmosphere. Always forget how nice a hotel it is. Will have to return for a staycation with the family and enjoy the 4 season pool...I know our daughter Abi would love that !!
Great time had by all. Outstanding food and service.
Outstanding hotel and a great bunch of staff! I am loving it here so far! Many days to go!
Loved how they brought you breakfast in thr morning when ordering before 2am
Very nice hotel, good conference facilities, super-nice staff, 2 great restaurants and bars.
We stayed here a few times and each time is a pleasant experience. Our number one priority is clean and modern and Hotel Arts offer exactly that. Front counter agents are always helpful and valet parking is excellent.
Clean rooms, nice restaurant bur pricey. upgrade from King bed to 2 queen beds was not an upgrade :) was woke up to next door neighbours TV at 7:30am
This was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at, unfortunately. We were a given room in which every single piece of furniture was broken, and the temperature control had a huge crack down the panel, so it didnt work. Thankfully they gave us a new room. In this room, the door was sticky, making it nearly impossible to open. As well as this, the view was absolutely terrible, and the mattress is similar to something you'd expect to be given in a university dormitory. I've also never stayed at a hotel that considers itself in the "luxury" category that has no bathtub, and cant even be bothered to hang the floor length mirror. The food and alcohol choices for room service are also depressing, much like the decor. It would be a great party hotel, however. I feel like perhaps the marketing was just very, very misdirected. The price for parking was also very cheap.
Not as fancy as expected. Basically Marriott or Hyatt standard but way more expensive.
This hotel is amazing. As soon as you walk in you're invited by friendly hotel staff. Every little attention to detail is there when it comes to design. The room we stayed in was a Luxury King, for about $177 after taxes and parking. They have parking right beside the hotel ($10 extra). The room looked amazing and has a nice little balcony. One thing I didn't really like was the shower head but that's just personal preference. Has a nice sized pool with music playing and an area to lounge around. I wish when they listed the price on there website to book the hotel that it included the 4% Tourism Fee and 3% DMF that gets charged to your room rate.
Lots of clubs/bars literally across the street. About 10 minute walk to the Core shopping centre, which is HUGE!
Attended #CARSP2019 here and it's a very nice establishment. The food was hit or miss, but the conference rooms were great, and the staff was friendly.
Wi-Fi is really too slow really
wifi is too slow! so much slow!
Amazing staff. Yellow door bistro was awesome and amazing breakfast
It was a great venue to have any social event or just a night out....
Very helpful and with a lot of parking space!!!
Loved my stay. Best perk for me was the complimentary commuter Bike Program. Allowed me to explore Calgary better at no extra cost for me! Keep up the great work!
Pretty decent hotel. I found the bed comfy and pillows were good. Bathroom was quite nice and the minty body wash was refreshing. Parking was reasonably priced and plentiful. I wish the tv would have a channel to see what shows were on, rather than just a listing of which channels were which number. Location was handy to downtown, 17th Ave and Inglewood.
Nice environment to host the carnival cocktails for cancer. Classy, and fun.
Booked a King sized bed suite through Expedia, got two doubles but we made it work (didn't want to complain). Got conflicting information regarding the parking lot but staff fixed it up for us. Overall pleasant stay. Modern decor.
Well we were having a great time and found out we had to leave at 1:30 pm. You are only allowed to stay for 2.5 hours. Rule change What the heck. The new management is not great at all.
My only complaint is that when we were checking out Sunday, Sept 13th, there were MULTIPLE groups of guests in the lobby who were not wearing masks- I don t believe anyone asked them to mask either. While there was signage in place, management really needs to up its game with respect to empowering their employees to be a bit more firm. Didn t make me feel very safe when a maskless guest tried to enter the elevator as I was trying to get off. Overall really great hotel but if you re looking for a place that really enforces adherence to COVID rules it might not be for you
The bed is comfortable, but other than that, nothing special. Both times I have stayed there, something about the shower was broken
Got a great rate, stayed here and walked to the stadium. Underground secure parking, with optional valet.
Loved the hotel quietest maid service on the 11th floor food was good in the yellow door would have preferred a bit more basic fare such as soup or sandwiches
Food is always great and staff are professional. The banquet and conference space feels dated and is an awkward layout
We stayed here in February. Very good service and comfortable place to stay. We got upgraded to studio room and we can see calgary tower from balcony which was great. Walking distance to tower. Will definitely stay here again when visit.
Hotel Arts is a beautifully renovated hotel. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The Raw Bar restaurant is also very nice to try out.
We tour concerts and always have our talent and crew stay here. Amazing customer service, beautiful rooms, and the privacy we all deserve.
Sub par hospitality, over inflated egos. #temideservesbetter
Staff are attentive and customer focused. Restaurant staff are knowledgeable and very customer focused
Wow. The interior of this hotel is stunning. The staff is AMAZING, it's walking distance to sooooo many hidden gems. The attached restaurants are to die for.. Room was clean bed was super comfortable. I will absolutely be staying here everytime i go to calgary.
Events that occur here are great. The food is good and so is the service! They decorated beautifully and were extremely pleasant!
Very nice hotel! The artwork all around was a great touch. The rooms were very spacious and an awesome view!
I would definatly stay there again.
The restaraunts in the hotel were very good, and reasonably priced. Happy hour 4 to 6 everyday!
They do reply on your feedback forms which shows that they do care about hospitality experience you get from them while stay.
I had a really good experience at Hotel Arts. I stayed in a larger king bed room on the 10th floor. The room was clean, spacious, and had nice finishings (including a TV in the bathroom mirror). The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows which never happens. The staff were very friendly and even texted me a few times during my stay to see how I was doing. I recommend this hotel.
Great venue and services for corporate Christmas party
One ply toilet paper, and rooms that left just a bit to be desired cleanliness wise. Issues that shouldn't exist for a hotel at this price.
Nice decor and location though.
Good location, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and the Yellow Door Bistro is outstanding.
The best spot in calgary for poolside chillin!! Only downside is the wait
The hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Even though there was music and it was very busy at the pool I didn't experienced any problems whatsoever. The room has a balcony and the option to have the door open. This is a feature which I really like because I like fresh air during sleeping. The room had a big bed, TV, coffee machine, desk, and enough lamps. The bathroom is a shower in a bathtub, sink with a big mirror, complimentary soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner etc.
You can hear the TV in the adjacent room when it is on and the gym is not that big and opens at 6 am. These 2 points are actually the only 2 negative points I could find and are not that big of a problem. Nice stay and I enjoyed the ambiance.
Attended a professional event, was very pleased with the venue
