Amazing place, so clean and the animals have lovely big spaces to enjoy, we did the meerkat, lemur and sevel experience and it was incredible we got to cuddle the meerkats and feed bananas to the lemurs while they jumped on our shoulders, can't wait to come back again soon

Went here for a meerkat animal encounter, which was fantastic. Small group size, knowledgeable handler and plenty of 'hands-on' time with the animals. The farm has a good selection of animals and the living conditions look good. Without the encounter I would plan a visit between 2-3 hours depending on how fast you want to move round.

Been to Hoo Farm couple of times and loved it everytime. Did the binturong experience on 5th of June and was really impressed with all the animals and our host Aaron ( really hope i got the name right ) . definitely worth a visit.

Having initially been tempted to go to the farm due to a Dr Suess mix up, I was at first disappointed, but quickly delighted by my visit. The staff appeared to be well informed and happy to chat about the animals, all of which seemed to be well cared for and happy. A lovely little Zoo

Wonderful place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the majority of animals were visible and active. They have a really interesting range of animals and even animal lovers will meet a species or two that they've never heard of before.

I thoroughly recommend booking an animal experience; there aren't many places where you can interact with such creatures.

Fantastic time with the animal keeper experience for half a day (even in sub zero conditions with heavy snow). Staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going back (in warmer weather I think though)

Always a fun time when we go to Hoo Farm, the kids loved it and I think they've done such a good job of trying to keep to the guidelines under the circumstances! Great day out and would definitely recommend to anyone with kids! Just a shame we couldn't find any goats, they're always a favourite. I would recommend, however, taking your own picnic as the food can be a little pricey.

My son absolutely loved this place and I can see why, the animal interaction is great for kids! Me and my partner however had a not so great experience for more reasons than one! Firstly the animals have broken my heart, the enclosures are far too small and nearly every animal is either pacing in circles or sleeping. Secondly the fees are very high especially on food and gifts. Finally, the whole place just needs investment to improve, I know that s easier said then done but I can t help but fell this is a zoo that wasn t trying as hard as some (I don t mean the keepers I mean management)

I am having to write this review on google as I feel tripadvisor offer biased reviews as the company or owner can get reviews removed too easily if they don t like them.
I visited Hoo farm with my family and we didn t have a very good experience. We found the customer service awful, they didn t give two hoots ice they have taken your money. They had changed the terms and conditions after I had bought the experience and not informed us. They said we should of read it again, what good that would of done after I don t know as they were not willing to exchange it for an alternative. I found the animal park to not offer much other than animal experiences, so if this doesn t go well like our day then it will be a complete waste of time and money.
I feel it is important that all have their say even though Hoo farm have tried their best to stop me having mine.
I have got to say Hoo farm has been the absolute worst animal park we have ever visited. I have never had to write a negative review for an animal park before so to me that says it all as I have 4 children and 2 grand children and have visited many over the years and taken part in many animal experiences.
I would advise that is you do visit this park and your experience goes to plan all well and good but if it doesn t don t expect any care or customer service, oh and make sure you read the small print a day before your experience as it may change.

Well where do I start! Kids entrance price was almost the same as an adults ridiculous! At a quick glance you could see the farm was run down and in need of tlc. The tiny car park was full so had to park up on a grass verge on the road as More

Unfortunately after a weeks rain is was very muddy and the poor animals were knee deep in mud too. The reptile house was very shabby and needed completely updating. Toilets were very old and dirty too

Amazing zoo, you feel like you are really up close to the animals which is a great experience. We even paid for an experience and we enjoyed every minute of it. Would fully recommend this zoo to anyone who wants to visit and the experience are so good too.

Better experiences to be had elsewhere...

We found the admission fee to be quite high for this experience, and our 2 year old cost the same as an adult. The farm itself is small, but they do have a wide variety of animals there. As somebody who works with animals, including zoological species, I was disappointed with both the size and cleanliness of the majority of the enclosures. The shire horse in the paddock is so lame that it can barely walk. I was informed by a member of staff that the horse was 'a bit lame' and that the vet had been called out a number of times in the previous weeks, however the condition of the animal was quite distressing, and my party was so concerned that we elected to leave the 'Animal Kingdom' immediately. The staff are friendly and the overall atmosphere is nice, however the place has an overall run-down feel to it, despite the pricey admission. We did receive a free return visit for our 2 year old, however we will not be using it. There is much better value to be found elsewhere in Shropshire.

Fantastic morning at Hoo Farm on a half day zoo keeper experience. Couldn't fault it. Staff friendly and knowledgeable animals all seem well cared for and happy. Would recommended a visit!

Brilliant afternoon out. Did the Carnivore Combo experience. Jonno who took us around was extremely knowledgable amd friendly. It was well worth the cost and are considering doing another experience.

Great day out for all the family, loads to do, we had a meet the meerkat experience which was brilliant! We had taken a picnic so can't really comment on the shop prices. There is a good variety of animals which the kids loved! The staff there were helpful and polite. There is a large car park so no real issues parking

We did the binturong experience and it was brilliant! Got up close and fed these friendly animals as well as a racoon and 2 racoon dogs. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone! The farm itself has a great selection of animals and the staff are very friendly.

Lots of different animals for young children to see and feed. Playground, shop, cafe (not staying in due to COVID, eating outside) to keep children entertained. For post lockdown, this is a good place for a day out.

A great place for kids who love animals, a surprisingly wide range of animals and an impressive reptile collection. Staff who love their jobs and the animals. The place is quite disorganised which gives it that friendly feel. The food in the cafe was truly awful, but the ham sandwich was edible. My 8 year old son loved the place, especially the talks by the staff. Lamb feeding and getting to touch a Boa Constrictor. Great playground and picnic areas. It's a bit far from Manchester but we'll be back.

Dissapointing. Drove a 314 mile round trip after booking for my wife to feed and meet the Servals and the Meerkats. First of all first impressions of the farm were run down, no real atmosphere to the place and very few animals to see. Woodland walkways to wander round to see wildlife with interactive items for children dotted around. Many of these were well overdue a paint job or replacing and showed a complete lack of care.

We arrived and met our guide at 2pm as per the time agreed. Whilst the young chap who showed us around was pleasant and informative giving us and the other couple time with the meerkats, it was when he said right you can go and get a free drink before leaving. This seemed odd as we hadn't fed the Servals which was the main reason for us going such a distance. We asked him and he said that they hadn't booked us in to see the Servals and because they had already been fed we couldn't see them. When we approached the main desk about this they denied all knowledge and some rude goofy toothed man said well you can't see them and that's the end of it. No apology, no refund, no offer of a return visit. Basically happy to take your money with no interest in offering a memorable experience. There are far better places that genuinely care for their animals and visitors that should be considered over this place. We are pursuing a refund and have voiced an opinion on their Facebook page.

Re hoo farm response.

I will be raising the issue on my upcoming radio production too as there appears to be a considerable number of other disgruntled visitors to your farm.

As for your animal welfare, I have approached defra to establish their last visit

We've been to Hoo Farm twice now, firstly for the raccoon/raccoon dog/skunk experience, and this time for the carnivore experience.

It's terrific value. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and you get really good exposure to the animals they have on the experiences. It's very safely done, but you get a real front and centre experience.

It's also a massive venue. The enclosures are really generous for the animals, which is lovely to see, but somehow, the hit rate for seeing the animals is pretty high. There's also a great selection, including some animals I'd never even heard of until we first visited (genets, civets, binturongs and raccoon dogs as a starter for 10).

It's so worth the visit. It deserves to be immensely popular (I think it is, to be fair). Facilities are good, and it's easy to access from the M54.

Had the meerkat, serval and lemur experience for 4. We were accompanied by Johno who was very informative and knowledgeable and clearly loves his job and is very good at it. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The meerkats are absolutely adorable and snuggled inside our jackets for a snooze. It was lovely to be able to stroke and feed them. We would definitely recommend this experience and it was nice to stroll around the park to see the other animals too. A really good day out.
