NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!
I would have given a 0 if it was possible. Extremely unorganized. We were asked to provide the same information multiple times. Each time were told it would be added to our file , yet, months later they would ask for the same documentation again and again. They asked for unnecessary information more than once. We rented out our previous home and they wouldn t let us rent to our adult children. We had more than a 20% down and chose to use them because of the incentives, but I would have gladly paid more to not have to deal with them.

Dishonest, inexperienced, glorified car sales people. No response to guidance question, frequently mishandling of important finance documents. The company cost me $10000 in earnest money, all due to their misrepresentation! The company doesn't even deserve 1 star. If your home builder requires you to use this company as the lender, RUN! Or you and your family stand to loose upwards of $10000 like mine did. Thanks Home American rip offs!!

I have dealt with numerous loan companies over the past 30 years and this company by far is the worst I've ever worked with. Just as the previous reviews stated... This company wants me to have my wife sign a gift letter because she wrote a $1,904 check to their design center. They're hassling me over a $900 credit card debt that has been paid off wanting 5 months of bank statements showing it was paid. They want me to provide documentation showing my deposit payments have cleared my account when their sister company provided a letter on their letter head showing the funds in receipt. I talked to a loan supervisor and Branch Manager Chris King and they really didn't care about this or any loan. They were only interested in more and more documentation such as described above. This company knows more about me than the NSA, IRS, and Law Enforcement Agency I worked for combined. Makes you think if they are selling your info on the side.

Home American Mortgage is hands down the WORST financial organization I have ever dealt with. They are unprofessional, snarky, and fail to do their jobs when it matters most - before closing on a new home. THEY WILL DELAY YOUR CLOSING DUE TO THEIR INCOMPETENCE! The only reason anyone ever has to use them is because they are Richmond American Homes' side company - required to use if you want to get the 'incentives' for buying a new home with Richmond. Never again. Miserable experience. Gayla David is horrendous! This review should give them zero stars not one.

I know there are tons of negative reviews on this company, which had me nervous to work with them, but my experience was very positive. I worked with Shanna and Stacy throughout my mortgage procurement process and had no issues. I received a great rate and everything was ready to go a week prior to our close date. Our closing costs also ended up being far less than projected so it was worth going with HomeAmerican as Richmond's preferred lender.

This company is the absolute worst. Never can get a hold of anyone the Loan Processor Jessaca Dunlop- terrible. Because of her and her office not being able to stay on top of the documents like they are supposed to it caused us not to receive our keys to our new home on time. After we already bought appliances, movers, and separate contractors. And after asking them EVERYDAY what else they needed so we can get in ASAP. Then doesn t return our phone calls when we re trying to figure out why the loan isn t closed??? What a joke. These people obviously need a new profession if they can t handle this one. Wouldn t recommend to anyone nor would we EVER do business with them again. I hope no one else does either.

Terrible closing experience. They kept asking for more and more information last minute (up until 9pm the night before closing) and they kept losing documents that were already provided. We were told that our credit would not be ran until we got a closing date - Lie! They ran my credit WITHOUT letting us know and at least two weeks before getting a closing date. We barely met the time frame to close in order to not get my credit reran. Very disorganized and would not recommend them. We are one month out of moving in and they all of a sudden come to me saying they need me to sign docs that they forgot to provide a closing.

This company worked with the builder of my house. Their interest rates are high and at the last minute they raised them even higher even with an 800+ credit score. Luckily after only two years Im refinancing at over two percentage points lower!!! Thank goodness for Bank of America!!

I wish I could give 0 stars. We had the worst experience with this company. We were referred to this HAMC by our builder who offered an incentive to pay our closing costs by using them so of course we wanted to go with them.
We initially contacted the referred mortgage broker Chris, in the beginning or June and did not hear back from him for almost a month and when we did he rudely informed me that they had high standards and were very busy so many loans wouldn t close.
This was before he knew about our financials so that right there was a red flag, we knew we made more than enough money and we had very little debt.
We sent our documents in and waited and waited any didn t hear anything back about other documents he might need. So after a couple of weeks we requested a new mortgage broker.
We were then switched to Shawna Miles, who was too busy to go over any details of what she needed, we are both self-employed so I figured she would probably need supporting documents but we were in the dark as to what she would need to send this to underwriting.
We sent our taxes right away since we knew they needed them and 2 weeks later she contacted our sales person claiming she never received them which is odd because one would think if she didn t she would contact us.
Then we waited with no communication from her at all to let us know if she needed other documents. Finally she contacted us and asked for duplicate copies of pages that were attached to our 2019 taxes saying the pages weren t there even though we could plainly see they were since they were all part of the tax return.
I asked our Accountent to re-send our taxes and even she could not believe how incompetent this mortgage broker was as the pages were all attached since this was the same doc she had sent to the IRS.
By late July we were still not even at the underwriting stage and we were supposed to close on August 18.
We then decided to look for a different mortgage company and found a mortgage broker, Nick Davis at PRMG.
We spoke to him about providing the mortgage even though we would lose the closing incentive we were done dealing with Home America Mortgage.
He said he would look over our financials and let me know if I was missing anything even if he didn t get the business he would help us with what we would need.
I told Nick at that point we didn t care about the closing incentive we just wanted to close and we only had three weeks to do so.
He was amazing and very communicative.
He told us what documents we needed, we got them to him and in three weeks he was able to get our loan closed.
Something that Home American Mortgage couldn t do in almost 3 months.
Unbelievably almost at the end point when we were approved by PRMG we heard back from Home American Mortgage saying they couldn t provide our mortgage because they didn t have all the documents they needed. What a joke because we never were told what extra documents they did need.
I would say if you are referred to this company you run the other way.
It s better to close your loan and have to pay the closing costs then go through the stress of almost losing a home because the mortgage company couldn t perform.

ABSOLUTE WORST Mortgage company ever!!! I have never left a review for anyone and it has been such a bad experience that I had to caution people about this horrendous loan process I had. Pulled my credit 3 times, requested same documents for a full year 3 times which they had. I had an email stating I was in lock period 30 days to close but somehow now I am taking on current rates. They pulled me on this BS journey of requests and credit runs while they knew the house wasn't going to be built for 10 months. Ridiculous! Only reason I considered staying with them was for the incentive they offered but honestly, I could care less about the $13,000 at this point from all the rate increases and time spent. Would truly caution anyone from doing business with Home American Mortgage, truly worst experience ever for buying a "dream home".

This Mortgage firm cannot be trusted by any means, I got a deal offered through Richmond American Homes if I had gone through the Mortgage firm. Home American Mortgage firm pre-approved and said I qualify for the discounts, later when I approach them after 3 months to start the loan processing ,they inform me that they cannot offer the loan as the company policies has changed for people having certain Visa's. This is absolutely cheating, I had everything recorded on email including approvals. Neither the builder Richmond America or HomeAmerican Mortgage company did anything to compensate for this. They are slow in responding, inefficiencies are there in the process, do not respond to calls etc

Purchasing a new home through their parent company...

Purchasing a new home through their parent company. Sent in a mortgage application. Had to leave several messages (over period of 3 days) and call the sales agent to try and get a response. By the time they finally responded rates had moved up fairly significantly. This did cost me money, because I was waiting on their offer for several days before pursuing other applications. They provided me with worst terms and rates compared to the other two organizations I applied. This was with roughly $18k incentive money offered to buy down points and pay closing costs offered by the building side of the organization. Overall this was a huge waste of my time. AVOID this mortgage company unless you have NO alternative. Yikes!

Justo <-- This guy is probably the slowest person at processing a loan & cannot answer you back! Did your company push out too many loans, and you are stalling? Do you refuse to email because you don t want anyone to have documentation on hair bad you fail at your Job? American Home Mortgage, why do you have a yelp review of 2.0, and google review of 1.6? Obviously you utilize cheap labor to offer incentives, but if it takes 12 years to build your house will we be alive then? Consider me frustrated! Also, why can t i give 0 stars? Buyers beware!!!!!!!!

My review of one star should be another example why you should consider another lender! The customer service is rude and drags you along until the last minute to say you're not approved. I have great credit and this would be my second house that I would be buying. The incentives that is offered with my builder was really appealing, but not worth the awful service. I went all the way through the process, verified my income to have them tell me my money is not good enough, even though I have the bank statement to prove it. Read the rest of the reviews before you start working with these scammed.

Buyer BEWARE!! This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. I never write reviews but feel this needs to be told! This lending company is NOT WORTH any incentive your new home is willing to offer. They are unprofessional, unaccommodating and down right LAZY. As I read through the other reviews (unfortunately after this terrible process) I see that many other customers had the same experience. If I could give zero or negative stars I would. I worked with one loan processor and fired him to basically be moved to another processor who NEVER returned phone calls or responded to emails asking necessary questions. We applied two months ago and literally the day before we were set to close they started asking for more information. I had to move my closing date back 3 days because they were not ready (and I had traveled from NY to Florida for the closing.) In one of my emails the processor (Danielle Attaberry) was super rude...("We are all aware of your closing date, Mrs....") if you, HomeAmerican, were aware, you would've been prepared, I was shocked. I could go on and on...to almost canceling the day before we were to close. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

We are very disappointed. Unprofessional. Incompet...

We are very disappointed. Unprofessional. Incompetent. Very poor communication: unanswered emails, unreturned phone calls, condescension when we ask for clarification. Even our realtor could not elicit a response. I am a doctor. We had to involve our CPA and CFP just to appease their many unreasonable requests. Five business days prior to their scheduled close date they actually asked me, the customer, to establish a personal online account with the IRS to provide them with transcripts because they were not able to obtain them in a timely manner themselves. This, after we provided complete copies of the 3 years of tax returns several months earlier. They blamed each other for the errors and the delays. We had conditional approval 4 months earlier. We were responsive, cooperative, and accommodating every step of the way often reaching out to see if they needed any additional documentation (no response). Because of their time mismanagement, our closing was postponed, without our consent, and with only a 24 hour notice. Calls to upper management to discuss the situation went unanswered. Everything could have easily been sorted out weeks earlier as they had scheduled the closing date with ample time to complete the application process comfortably. Very disheartening for our family, and hence, we are motivated to leave this review.

Both our CPA and CFP were befuddled at this level of harassment as we clearly qualified with an 832 credit rating and more than ample cash (well over the 20% down), large retirement funds, and other real estate assets. The day after their scheduled closing, they literally took issue with a $41.00 credit card balance and required us to provide bank statements and documentation to prove that it had been paid off. We had zero debt: our home was paid off years ago as well as our 3 cars. Inexplicably, a total of $41.00 on a credit card had disqualified us for this mortgage. Somehow we were eventually approved after many stressful days, and multiple disruptions to our family. The closing was then rescheduled for the following week, and we proceeded to reschedule our moving and delivery arrangements.

This is our fourth home purchase. We have had many unproblematic mortgage accounts and banking relationships for well over two decades both personal and business. We ve never had an experience anywhere near this distressful. Clearly these people are not interested in customer service. The only reason we chose to use this company was the closing cost incentives proposed by Richmond American Homes at the time of the initial contract.

Sorry, we cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

Addendum: It is now 2 days after the close and the title company has found an error in the HomeAmerican Mortgage paperwork. I have now been instructed to sign post-closing documents to remedy their error so Richmond can keep an additional $90.00.

One of the worst experiences with a mortgage company I have ever had. I have built three homes with other builders and used their mortgage company on two of them. I can't even get a return call or email returned. It has been two weeks! If I get a different lender they will not give me closing costs as they promised. Not buying with this builder end of story.

This company is running a scam!!! They offered us 18 K incentive towards closing cost and in the end didn t approve our loan even though we were putting down 80% - loan amount was just 20%. Unprofessional loan officers and on top of that they are rude too!! Avoid this mortgage company unless you want to face huge disappointment and spoil your home purchase experience! I would give zero stars if I could!

If I could give 0 stars I would. HomeAmerican drug my partner and I along on a finished home purchase for 3 months. Even though we had over 20% for a down payment and excellent credit, they denied our lending without providing a reason. It is my understanding that this practice is actually illegal because it indicates that there is mortgage discrimination, some thing that should be looked into regarding this company. They connected a 15,000$ discount on to the purchase of a home if you use them lender but then do a very poor job with high closing costs and interest rates. This is not how business should be done. They were not upfront with the process or price and took over a month to respond to simple questions. It was the worst mortgage experience of my life. We actually had to terminate the deal at a large cost to us because of them.

I tried to get a loan with this company. To use towards the down payment i had sold my hot rod. I Kept documentation such as the bill of sale, tittle transfer and the gentleman i sold it to even got me a certified check so i could have it for my records. Angel Quinn made me feel like a criminal and kept giving me reasons as to why i couldn t use that money. She made me feel like a criminal and made it seem like i had stolen the money. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Save your time and seek else where.

(SCAM) Home American Mortgage specializes in stealing your money. On my final payment with them they were double payed, When I called about the double payment, customer service rep Cathy was incredibly rude and hostile towards me. she claimed they were authorized to take out the additional payment because I was enrolled in auto payments even though my loan with them was already paid off and the new mortgage company paid them for the final month in the buyout, they "still had the right to withdraw payment because I hadn't called and canceled auto payment (even with my loan paid off) so instead of making things right they told me off and that they would rather go to court. (DO NOT GET A LOAN WITH THEM) they also have no website for customers to manage their accounts, and they have higher interest rates than any other mortgage company. Absolute disgrace to the USA

As far as the Home American Mortgage Corporation s...

As far as the Home American Mortgage Corporation side we don t even know where to start. Our list of complaints can go on, but here it goes. Home American Mortgage corporation is hands down the absolute WORST, most RIDICULUS, RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL lending company that exists. Lisa Santos (Loan Officer) and Jodi Rolfe (Loan Processor) have been making our home buying experience horrible, they seem as if they don t want to work with you. Horrible, poor customer service. We can't even get a return call or email returned to answer our questions or loan concerns. Yet we have to call our realtor agent to get involved because days would pass with no response. When they would response they would get defensive and responds with a sarcastic answer... and I quote Buying a home is fun and exciting, and so is selecting options in the HomeGallery- financing not soooooo much fun!! Sorry! I mean we are YOUR customer and we need to be treated well nice mannered. We know the finance part is never FUN! But come on we are giving you 20% down payment ALL OF OUR SAVINGS . all of our hard work earning moneys. After asking Lisa can we lock the interest rate early she said yes but there s a fee that s charged yet she didn t even bother telling us what that fee was! We wanted to lock the rate early so that we won t get hit with a high interest rate. Another thing, do they (Lisa Santos, Jodi Rolfe & American Mortgage Corp) think we don t know anything about the lending side?? Lisa calls us to lock the rate which went up to a 5.5%.... come on are you kidding us? We have gotten quotes from another lending side and interest rates are at a 4.6%, 4.8% and here comes American Mortgage with a 5.5%... we know WHY your charging us the 5.5%--- you are trying to get us back with the credit closing cost . We know nothing is FREE yet here comes the lending side trying to blind side us by charging what they so call CREDIT... FREE .
Another thing Jodi Rolfe (Loan Processor) is RUDE, UNHELPFUL & UNPROFESSIONAL. It has been an awful, miserable, horrendous experience speaking with her. Once that I spoked with her she was yelling and giving me snotty comments. First Jodi request paperwork to be submitted July 26th, which we submitted July 30th, we emailed Jodi July 30th to confirm paperwork was received and we didn t hear back until Aug 23rd asking for more paperwork what kind of service is that... yet we are here waiting for a response. On this last email Aug 23rd, she said I ll give you updates as we move along and let you know when I need you to start sending items over. I ll also give you a head up when I order your appraisal report. Oct 1st comes and I email her re: the paperwork that needs to be submitted and she said oh it went to my spam folder your email didn t get recognized, please send those over asap if you would. I d like to go ahead and wrap up the financing part of your Richmond experience. 1-1/2 month later We are over here waiting for her to tell us when to submit the paperwork. First time ever speaking with her to let her know that I submitted the paperwork in August her response.. and i quote we I don t have to go into details explaining what you have to turn in, it s pretty self-explanatory that we need a copy of everything! plus the phone call started with Oh yea I did get your email but I m busy doing something else and I cant pull up your account right now ill have to open your email till 3 days from now .. Are you serious!
She must have had a really bad morning. NEVER AGAIN! Are we recommending or going thru Home American Mortgage Corporation.
We have never left a review for anyone and it has been by far such a bad experience, worst financial organization we have dealt with, buying our dream home .
THE END
WE ended up canceling everything with HomeAmerican Mortgage. We ended up going with our Lender we bought our 1st home 5 yrs ago Suburban Mortgage Inc, Heidi Ferraro vice president is AMAZING she made this very smooth and hassle free.

Extremely poor customer service. We started escrow in December 2018 while waiting for our home to be completed. It is now done and after calling and sending multiple emails to Ellen, we receive little to no response and the info we do get is splotchy at best. If I could give a 0 star I would. This company is a joke. They told me I was approved everything was good back in April. I told them I wanted to be approved before signing any documents. Sure enough I was told we have an automated approval youre good. The wife and I decided to buy the bigger house. Kept following up, May- everything is good, June- everything is good, July- everything is good, August- everything is good. Lock in my rate at the end of August. Our first walk was on 9/9. I received an email on 9/8 at 11am. Telling me I wasn't approved and that the paperwork was messed up and no i need a cosigner for the house. Really a day before we walk?? This is just straight BS!! We have given notice to our land lord a long time ago, we bought a couple things for the house, all based on their word which means nothing. Please never use them, we are still battling to see if we get our house that the family was so excited to move into. Still in Limbo as we might lose the house we are renting and the house that we had Richmond build.

We recently bought a home through Richmond Homes. In order to qualify for the incentive, we were required to use this mortgage company. The real estate agent and the Superintendent of the construction were fantastic but the mortgage experience was AWFUL! The loan officer and her boss did not return emails or phone calls. We had to chase them to keep our loan moving. They made errors in the paperwork like forgetting to add in the deposit monies we paid for upgrades. Their interest rate is higher than what you can get at other places. However you are stuck because you are required to use them if you want the incentive. Personally, I will never use this company for loans ever again.

This has been a very bad experience for my wife and I dealing with Home American Mortgage Corporation. Last August I sent them all documents that they have requested from us. Beginning of December they told us they lost all off the documents and needed us to resend them again. Our closing date was suppose to be on December 20th. Our lender Eric Vargas told us everything was good with the documents and we have nothing to worry about. On December 20th in the morning with receive a call from Eric Vargas telling us we were denied home financing because of some sort of issues with documents and internal company issue. We have already packed, rented a moving truck and was supposed to move out of our apartment by Saturday the 22nd. We are now homeless on Christmas and have spend more money than we had budgeted. I do not recommend using this mortgage company. I do recommend doing some research on different mortgage companies before hand.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I have been held hostage to this loan company since April. Was supposed to close escrow over a month ago and am still awaiting underwriting approval. I have been asked for multiple additional documents which I have provided immediately when asked for and yet still not good enough. Comes back asking for more. Had to change loan program 3 different times. I am literally physically sick with stress that my home will fall through. We will be homeless in less then two weeks as well. Please do not use this company save yourself the nightmare. The incentives aren t worth it.

If I could give them a negative score, I would. Absolutely rude, inconsiderate people. NEVER, not once, in over 7 attempts, returned my calls. And barely answered emails. They only reached out 2 times in over a month of working with them. Ultimately they DENIED my loan app - 813 credit score and more than sufficient liquid and cash assets to cover the cost of the house 4 times over. They ARE NOT LENDING PARTNERS AT ALL. It is all a friggen scam under the Richmond Homes builders. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. REPEAT: DO NOT USE THIS FIRM.

The loan officer we worked with was incredibly condescending. They told us what we were approved for and then we asked what the monthly payments would look like and she said "we'll worry about that after you get under contract." We said we would like to know what the monthly payments are like before we sign and she said "I don't have time to answer that right now." She literally laughed when we asked for more specifics and said we can afford it, just get through the contract and call her back after that.

We asked if there was a better time to talk and she said it's really tough to get in touch with her. She might be able to respond same-day via text. Literally all the red flags in a lender. We decided not to go with Richmond American specifically because of this lender and seriously considered not buying a house at all because of how awful the experience was. Doesn't even deserve one star.

Horrible experience with this lending company. I was on maternity leave at the time of the loan, and Home American asked me to provide up to three subsequent pay stubs once I returned to work (this would drag out our loan another three months as I am paid monthly as a salaried employee). I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Terrible experience. Richmond American's incentives are strongly tied to using this lender which makes it difficult to move away from it. Its their way of saying "Its a below average mortgage company and you have no other option".

Believe the reviews! Everyone can't be wrong about this lender! Had the worst experience ever with this lender. Signed the contract in Sept 2020 and for two months didn't hear anything then in Dec 2020 the loan officer contacted me and started asking for underwriting documents. Received a closing date of 12/31/2020 -went to Title to sign documents, completed the signing process only to be told 15 minutes later I couldn't get the keys to my house because they still needed more underwriting conditions to satisfy my loan. HEARTBREAK, CONFUSED, ANGRY are some of the words I felt that day. Tried to reach out upper management only to be told I still had outstanding conditions to be satisfied. WHAT LENDER BRINGS A BORROWER TO CLOSING TO TELL THEM THEY CANNOT GET THE KEYS TO THEIR HOMES AFTER THEY'VE SIGNED CLOSING DOCUMENTS. I ended up going with Ashley Hickmon and her team over at Fairway Independent Mortgage and she and her team closed my loan in less than 30 days! No lie.
I recommend Ashley and her team, they all communicated very well through the entire process from start to finish. I was supposed to close 12/31/2020 and couldn't with HomeAmericam Mortgage Lender but closed on 1/28/2021. Fairway completed the loan before a week before my close date so less than 30 days! Do yourself a favor and go with another lender, HomeAmerican mtg lender offers great incentives but ALL MONEY ain't GOOD MONEY!

Listen to the reviews below. Save yourself, we got approved in November 2020 and they waited until March of 2021 to tell us last minute that we weren t approved. And the few 5 stars they ve received; all have the same outlined message of being scared but being glad they went with this company. Listen to the reviews and save yourself months of time, sometimes it is too good to be true.

This is by far the worst financial institution I have ever worked with. What an awful experience it was working with them over the last 9 months. Gayla D. was the worst of all, she is rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. Save yourself the trouble and don t work with them, avoid the builder incentive and save yourself from months of frustration. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Also, be prepared to have your information "sold" or given to other companies. I opted out of this by going to the website listed in the contract, but since closing, have been called and sent mailers non-stop.

We went with this company because the builder gave us an incentive that was too good to pass up if we used them. They were a nightmare. Bad rates, terrible service. They screwed up our paperwork so we didn t end up moving in on our original closing date and we were moving from out of state so it was a huge inconvenience. They didn t tell us they were pushing our close date until the day before we were supposed to move in. I have since had questions after closing and our loan officer is not helpful, not responsive, and just tells us to call the 1-800 number. Not worth the incentives. Closing costs were outrageous too.

I would highly recommend not using these people. They took every bit of joy out of buying a new home! They are rude, lack organizational skills and do not know what it means to work as a team amongst them selves. We were asked multiple times to provide the same paperwork to different team members and after giving them what they wanted they still either continued to ask the same questions or asked for the documents stating they hadn't been received. They offer incentives to go through them but in the end the incentives aren't worth it! I would have gladly paid more for my new home then to have to go through the hell these people took me through. Do use them!

The below 2 star reviews speak for themselves. Before I go further I have never written a bad review and not had some person from the company reach out attempting to find out what happened.... Home American NEVER called.

I was very disappointed with the lack of communication. The loan process was terrible and I would not recommend them, even if the builder is giving you a big incentive to use them.

The management used, like some many other companies did, the COVID excuse; that their staff was too busy and couldn t handle the work load. That s not my problem as a consumer, that s their issue. The companies lack of hiring made our process unbearable and at one point we were going to throw in the towel, lose $5k and cut ties with Richmond and Home American, but we didn t.

Long story long, yes now being in our home for 6months it s fine, but wow was it a horrible experience and they still have never apologized or even followed up with us about how poorly things went.

I'm not a big one for posting negative reviews but this company truly earned it. Liz was horrible at communication and was rude in many of her responses(sometimes in ALL CAPS). We were only using them because of the closing cost incentive. Through her unprofessional emails and lack of communication we became nervous that she was too busy and couldn't keep up with all of the loans. I voiced my concern to the higher ups with Richmond and they didn't even bother with a response. Bottom line I used an outside lender which meant we had to pay our closing costs out of pocket but everything went considerably better. We got a lower rate and a more attractive loan package. The best part was no longer working with Liz! It's sad when your experience with an individual can cause you to gladly write a check for over $12,000 to use another lender. We ended up going through Movement Mortgage with Jordan Chomko. I HIGHLY recommend Jordan and the team at Movement Mortgage.

All the other reviews almost scared us off with going with Home American, but the incentive was too good to pass up. I'm so glad that we didn't make our decision based off these reviews. We had no problems closing or with communication during the entire process. We worked with Liz and Gayla and had a good experience. Both responded to emails promptly and answered any questions we had. When we were asked for documents we made sure to get them back to Liz quickly. We communicated with Liz regularly and closed on time.

My in-laws just closed on a home last month (12/2018) with this company and had a HORRIBLE experience!

This lender was recommended through Richmond American Homes on a new build in Erie, CO. Richmond offers an additional incentive towards home gallery options if clients use this company as their mortgage lender.

Turned out to be a HUGE hassle and headache for my in law's, when buying a new home should be a happy moment. My father-in-law who is a extremely mild mannered man reached a level of frustration that I've never seen in dealing with this company. He reported talking with multiple people, documents routinely getting lost, rude behavior from employees and last minute random documents demanded (not requested). In addition to using them as your mortgage lender they also require you use their homeowner's insurance to receive incentive.

In the end, the price you pay altogether and horrible customer service outweighs any incentive offered.

If your reading this you've already taken the first smart step by doing your research. I'd recommend looking into more reputable mortgage companies since there are many in the Denver and surrounding areas!

Overall the process with Kristen C and Kathy F was very straight forward and professional. Yes you will be asked for things multiple times as expected as documents expire or aren t sent correctly the first time. If you are honest they will help to the best of their ability, they follow through, there was no surprises. It does help to follow up to make sure your documents were received correctly or if there is anything further they need. Besides one hiccup with the under writer the process was smooth and they communicated effectively. We love our home and are grateful for their hard work.

Buyers & Veterans be forewarned. The reason this company has such bad reviews is because they have earned it.

In attempting to do a VA loan through this company I was told over and over again that they could not structure certain parts of the loan the way I wanted because it was in their words "illegal". After getting the information directly from the VA for them they changed their stance and corrected the issue but never took accountability for it. When questioned about there flagrant use of the word "illegal" they just laughed it off and said they were unaware of the rules.

They will also give you very little time to review your actual closing costs and fees (I was given 4 hours) before you have to accept them or else they say you won't get the loan. They actually sent them to me after the office closed for the day so I was unable to even ask questions about it and told I had to sign by midnight. Shady???

The whole process seems like it is either intentionally set up this way to keep the consumer from being able to get a good mortgage (and they make a bunch of $ on the back end) or they are just that incompetent.

Do yourself a favor and read the reviews. If you wouldn't go to a restaurant with a 1 star average review why would you get a mortgage from a company that averages 1 star? At least with a restaurant your only out $10 with this company your stuck with your decision for 30 years.

I was very hesitant to use this lender as their reviews are terrible. However, my experience with Home American was wonderful. We built with Richmond American so we definitely wanted to take advantage of the lender incentive. I worked with David Rollo who was great on the front end for communication and making sure we had all the necessary documents. We got an incredible rate and David was available throughout the whole process to answer questions. Stacy Crilow-Parsons was our loan processor so she took care of us on the back end of the process and she was great with communication and answering our questions. As long as you stay on top of the required documents there shouldn't be any issues. We closed yesterday (12/22/20) without a hitch. Thank you!
