The place overall is dated. The lobby looks nice but the rest of the building should be renovated. The breakfast is not included and it appears to have been made the last time the hotel was remodeled. The rate was reasonable and it was relatively clean.

No restaurant/bar attached (left 6 months ago, should be noted on their site), place needs a major facelift! Fitness center is a joke, can easily hold more equipment/treadmills. Looks like owner isn t interested in investing in their property. Guess it s easy to see why this is the cheapest place to stay in the area; you get what you pay for. Front desk staff were very nice, only reason this place gets 2 stars!

This Holiday Inn is the reason I avoid their hotels. The place is worn down. Walking into the room you get hit by an musky old smell. Then you notice the torn wallpaper, missing artwork from wall but the holes still there, torn curtains and dirty bathroom. Only reason I did not walk out was because the bed and linens seemed to be in good shape.

Hotel was clean, staff was a bit depressing. There was a flight that had a layover and roomed their passengers at the hotel which caused confusion with the breakfast arrangements. On top of that, the breakfast was lacking. The wait staff was not attentive at all unless you were seated in specific sections as well as the kitchen staff failed to refill certain dishes for upwards of 20 minutes after running out.

Room 331 ..Greeted nicely and checking in was surprisely smooth. Quiet room and extra pillows that i asked for. Room stunk! Went down to lobby to ask for a air freshner and same clerk, said he would bring one up right away. I never saw him, nor did housekeeping bring anything up with them the next day.
Diningroom was clean with hot food , which included organic oatmeal. Something for everyone. Staff was helpful and pleasant.
The carpet in my room was sticky and moldy?
It was not a 5 to 10 minute drive to Salem. Always min 30 mins.):
I called for directions and the same man i checked in ( confirmed that it was him, when i checked in) also said at the time that it was a 5 to 10 min drive...i would advise making sure the staff knows times and directions well. He gave me directions like i knew the area, in fact i just drove 12 hrs...
Beds were comfortable but bathroom needs updating. Perhaps no wallpaper and fresh coat of paint and my door lock was not secured to the trim/wall. Finally heater was LOUD,!

We booked directly with the hotel and were here for 4 nights. No refrigerator, no microwave, only decaf coffee in the room. At our breakfast, foods were often out or missing, and there were always grounds in the coffee. Floors in the lobby and breakfast dining area had spills and stains from not being mopped each day. No shuttle service to the public transit system, or anywhere else for that matter. We were told we were getting two queen size beds for four people, only had two full size beds. Bathroom had no fan, the room constantly felt as if we were in the tropical jungle from all the humidity, even with the loud and possibly failing air-conditioner running the entire time.. Eventually staggered our showers two at night and two in the morning so the ceiling would stop raining water on us as we dried off. Door knob and lock we re not working correctly, the manager on duty sent someone to fix that, but the worker decided it wasn t worth his time, so the manager eventually came and fixed it himself. We exclusively stay in Holiday Inns and never have these problems.

Staff was excellent and very friendly! From booking my stay with Aimee to checking in with Desiree and Barbara to even meeting the general manager Jahayra. The front desk staff Lenny, Rich and Karina are a great part of their staff as well. Every part of my stay here was superb. Very clean, very quiet and extremely nice and attentive cleaning staff

The check-in was great, the staff was very friendly, our room is very nice, I'm using points and it's the reason I always stay at this brand. The hot breakfast for $11.00 (kids free) was on point, but wish i had known i could buy a voucher when i made the reservation.

Not the best holiday inn I've stayed at. The pillows looked like they'd been used for about 10 years, totally flat. The room looked thrown together, and the staff was pretty cold when we arrived. We got a suite and it was pretty beat for being one of their nicer rooms.

The hotel and staff were fine. But navigating the roads and looking for places to eat is kind of a pain the way they have the road divided. You have to travel a few miles in both directions just to leave the hotel and return.

Our room was wet. Spots of the carpet, the mattress, and blankets were all damp, and the smell was really musty. I had to sleep above the blankets and it still was bad.

Other than that, just fine.

We booked through Orbitz, paid for a king bed, and were very dismayed when we entered our room to find a bed that seemed somehow smaller than a full. The hotel staff said it was Orbitz's fault, and refused to do anything about the issue. We called Orbitz, and they blamed the hotel. The next morning the hotel manager, Amy, seemed very defensive as we discussed the issue. However, at my request, she did offer to give is free breakfast vouchers. The breakfast should have been free in the first place, because it's the same watery eggs and cold French toast buffet that you can get for free at any other hotel.

This is the worst hotel I've stayed in within the continental United States. I have attached photos to accompany this review (and will list below) but the staff could not have been less interested in resolving the issue or even discussing them with us. We called to complain to the IHG corporate complaint line - who in turn attempted to call the front desk and manager. The IHG corporate employee informed us that the hotel was unresponsive to them, as well. When checking out, I volunteered my complaints to the manager on duty who was less than interested or sympathetic - to say the least. Within this room, all of the furniture was damaged to varying degrees (or had visible dirt/dry liquids that could be removed by damp towel), the wall paper was peeling, the tiles in the bathroom were broken, the lights flickered, there were stains on the comforter, the bathroom amenities were GROSS. I know it's October and Halloween is around the corner but this is unacceptable. Further, the "security" latch on the door was hanging off the door frame.

Stayed at this hotel, pictures must of been taken many years ago.The place is old and outdated, Had to get maintenance just to get door to open. once inside the room was an ice cube, no heat on. In the middle of the night the heat refused to work at all,had to change rooms. Room carpet was old. Man at front desk not overly friendly.

Lovely suites, the room was large! Loved the separate living area and the huge bathroom. The staff was friendly. Room service was great. The location is also great because it's close to plenty of shops and c restaurants.

I was there for a Continuing Ed class. I got caught in accident traffic and called the hotel to notify them. The nicest man answered and calmed me down. He informed the lecture staff of my situation. Also, the hotel was beautiful and the lunch buffet was excellent.

I stayed at the holiday Inn in Peabody for one night while I was visiting BCH. The location was decent and the attached restaurant was good, but the room it self was rough. The bathroom does not have a fan or any ventilation and the toilet wouldn't flush unless you tinkered with it for a while. Not preferred when sharing the room with others.

Three stars is pretty generous. The bed was not comfortable. AC/ heater hanging on the wall is quite ugly. No outlets at the desk other than where the lamp is plugged in. Desk chair was uncomfortable. Bathroom vanity was quite small. Only two hangers to hang up shirts. I'm so glad I only needed to stay here one night.

Thus hotel is dark and dingy. It needs major renovations including parking lot repaving and the rooms. No fridge, no clock, and 1970s decor. No place to eat either. Empty businesses attached make it look even creepier. I would have liked to leave.

Not very clean. Worst Internet of any hotel I have stayed at in years. The kicker. Housekeeping missed raisins in the bed and an empty case of beer in the bathroom. Not sure who cleaned this but not done properly. Rethinking my points programs if this is what Ihg considers ok.

I spent 2 and a half weeks at this hotel working a very challenging sales project in the local area. The facilities were beyond adequate and the bedding, pillows and water pressure(all pet peeves of mine) were superior. The Breakfast was outstanding; much better than I expected. What impressed me most was the staff. I had interactions with most of the front of the house staff. Sam the GM, and Carlos the next in command were beyond accommodating helping me with several needs I had due to the length of my stay and some of the unique challenges of my business. The Front Desk Staff (Yanela, Leonard, Alen, and Twaha) were extremely knowledgeable on any aspect I needed to know about relating to the nearby area, and always greeted me and asked how my day was going. Vivane and Brenda were the restaurant staffers/managers in the am. They could not have been more pleasent or professional, and they definitely were helpful getting my day off to a good start. A Very Good Hotel, with a Great Staff. I hope to stay there again next time my business takes me to the North Shore!

About 20 minutes away from Boston without traffic. The hotel is also 15 minutes away from Salem. Great location if you're looking to explore both cities. The service was great despite it being a busy weekend during our stay. Highly recommend.

The hotel itself was nice, having a pool and attached restaurants are nice touches. Everything was pretty clean and modern. The only problem we encountered while we were there was someone rapping on the door at 8:15 am. We had been out late the night before so we were still in bed asleep, since checkout is at 11. At first we thought it was one of the rooms next door, until we heard someone try to come in, the only thing that stopped it was the slide lock that, thankfully I'm in the habit of sliding closed before bed. I jumped out of bed, still in my underwear, and pulled the door open to find a housekeeper standing there, and she asked me what time we were leaving, nothing more. She wasn't apologetic in the least for having woken us up. I said "checkout time" and let the door close in her face. I could then hear her going door to door down the hallway, doing the same to every room. I called the office to report this and got an apology. Never had an experience like that before. Definitely had noisy neighbors making sleeping difficult, but never had a hotel employee deliberately wake us up. I guess Holiday Inn really likes to get a jump on cleaning the rooms! I'll definitely look elsewhere first, next time I need a hotel room.

Recently enjoyed our stay. Rooms are very nice, however the presence of armed security in the lobby is unsettling. Additionally, the front desk staff would not give the meal tickets to two members of our wedding party who couldn't get a blocked room because they sold out. Elevators are slow and creeky. All in all, nice clean stay and we would return.

Had an awful experience here! We made a reservation through Expedia which was confirmed. In case you don't know when you make a reservation with Expedia you pay Expedia directly and expedient pays the hotel. We arrived to a very cold manager. She received our reservation but had not yet received payment from Expedia or so we were told. My fiance has anxiety induced seizures and epilepsy too. We were made to sit in the lobby for 3 hours. We had already brought our stuff up to the room, my daughter was not allowed to go change her diaper and had to sit in filth as my fiance cried continuously in the lobby. About four hours later we were allowed into our room was not the slightest bit of an apology treated like Beggars who couldn't pay their bill. Later the manager of the property apologize for this employee's actions. An apology is a little in the way when a two year old is purposely made to sit in their own filth, a young lady with epilepsy is forced to have anxiety induced seizures and a young man with kidney stones is not allowed to use the restroom. There's an empty seat downstairs in a very hot place waiting for this woman calling herself a manager. It seems like a poor review but at least my attorney had some good things to say.

In desperate need for a remodel, I travel 100% for work and stay in holiday inns frequently.
This is the most run down one I've stayed at yet, the only reason I didn't give it one star was because the young woman at the front desk was very nice & polite.

Room does what it needs to do. The desk staff was very nice. But, Breakfast was really not worth the cost of free. The bed was uncomfortably hard. The restraunt and bar Carreba's was closed for dinner at 7:30PM on Sunday night. Very difficult to get in the parking lot if you miss the driveway or if you are going south.

I got two rooms here once. My room had a bloodstain on the floor so we switched rooms. Then my mom found a used condom wrapper on the floor in hers. Disgusting. We got I refund but I will never come back here. The hotel looks old and dirty

Great staff.

Still showing its age, but it still works for me...
Getting in and out has a ton to be desired, but what on that route is easy?

It's good for what it is it's right in the middle of Salem and Boston. There's lots of fast food places in the area so it's pretty convenient. My only issue is the paper thin walls, I could hear my neighbor going to town on his bathroom and that wasn't a pleasant thing to hear but other than that, it gets the job done.

I'm an IHG member and frequent many of their hotels. I have NEVER been so dissatisfied in my life! The outside & entry look proper. The older gentleman was less than pleasant. Didn't great me or anything. Last name, I need a credit card, license, sign here and here's your key room is down the hall. Okay, everyone has a bad day maybe it was his. However, what happened next is the REAL problem. This hotel should not even be in the IHG group, I honestly can't believe they allow it to be branded as such. I have NEVER been in a room that was so disgusting. Forget it being outdated. The wallpaper was peeling, the ceiling looked as if had water & was coming apart. The floor was beyond disgusting. So many dark visible stains. I actually refused to put anything on the floor. I made my husband look for bed bugs (I was so grossed out), luckily there weren't any. I considered sleeping in the car but finally gave in & just went to sleep. There is no closet. They have a book shelf & a rod from it to the wall (about 18") to hang anything (which I wasn't chancing anyway). It's convenient to Logan however there are plenty of other choices on the same road for the same price. I'd suggest them, over here anytime.
