Room was clean as well as the pool and hot tub area. The front desk staff was great, and the buffet was delicious. I would highly recommend staying there!

Spent a week here and it was nice. Hotel has been updated and rooms were clean and quiet. Great staff. Restaurant "Jacks" is better than average. I will be back again.

Edited review - This place seems to have gone downhill from six months ago. Hotel staff are great but the facility needs work. Noisy elevator, air conditioner and running toilet. Not too sure I will stay here next time.

The location is just outside of Grand Haven, near several beaches, and not to far from Muskegon. It's waterfront is nothing special, just a boat marina, but the boardwalk is a descent way to blow 20 minutes. The hotel is clean, the food is great, the people are nice. Unfortunately there is a big "BUT" at the end if this review.... We used the indoor pool and some ended up with a terrible skin irritation called folliculitis, probably from bacteria in the swimming pool. My (5yr old) some had issues for almost a week, whilst the adults had just minor discomfort for 2 or 3 days. Painful bumps on the skin, in the bathing shirts area. We treated with several topicals recommended by a doctor and the school nurse. All of which exasperated symptoms after application. Coconut oil seemed to work the best to comfort my son's bottom, but it also had him in tears a few minutes after application. The gentleman at the front desk was empathetic, but offered not information if this has happened previously in their pool, nor did he offer any restitution.

Great location, and friendly people. The restaurant on site was very good. Everything was very clean which is even better knowing that this is a pet friendly location.

Went to a high school reunion....the deck and view are just beautiful. Food great and service was great. Fun place to have it.

Has a great view from the bistro, and very quite rooms. (Can't hear everything like other hotels). Friendly staff.

Terrible job of remodeling. Been going there for decades, what a beautiful property for the public to enjoy that they have now turned into event only access....very disappointed!!

Everything was great. Clean rooms, service amazing, and gorgeous view of the river. Rooms were a little small is all.

Was fantastic location. right in the harbor. Jack's restaurant was able to host our friends wedding. Although the one female staff didn't know how to work the wine bottle opener- I had to show her- otherwise the food was good- the location was lovely- they definitely could screen the talent that will sing for the night Bec it was quite painful to hear through the sectioned off area we had for the small wedding. The music just shot right through the glass and all we heard was a needing more practice guitarist/singer.

Room was very retro roomy and new. Liked the individual kerig in the room with good variety of coffees and tea. Receptionist very helpful and friendly. Restaurant waitresses and female bartender very friendly and do a great job.

My company books us at this hotel for remote employees visiting HQ. Many are not a fan of this hotel. It is located on at a fairly busy street right after a curved bridge down ramp. Making a left out of the hotel is difficult during rush hours; there is not traffic light. There is no breakfast buffet. A restaurant is connected to the hotel. Tough not being able to "grab & go" to office. There is no microwave in the rooms. Cannot reheat leftovers and more! They are currently going though construction to remodel the entire building. However, there was black speckled mold on the ceiling in one of my rooms. It was it the furthest corner from the door and along the wall of the bed. I told front desk and they gave me a different room. The pier is actually quite nice to talk a little stroll on during spring and winter.

It says it includes a contents breakfast but I could not find where breakfast was being served. I did find coffee in the lobby but was not very good coffee

The event manager came in on his day off to handle my friends twins pool/birthday party after Best Western cancelled their reservation the day before the party. Above and beyond and very very appreciated. Wonderful venue and friendly professional staff make this an awesome place to stay or just to visit the bistro and bar for the evening. I will definitely be back and often!

Really nice hotel for the price. Grand Haven is a really nice summer community. Hotel was nice and clean and the bar out back was very lively.

Great service, had a good rate for the wedding we were attending, and easy access to downtown Grand Haven (though it is a bit difficult to make a left turn from their driveway. ) The rooms were extremely well maintained, and very comfortable. All in all I would definitely stay there again!

Restaurant-Jacks waterfront has wonderful Sunday brunch.

One of the Best Holiday Inns I've ever been too. Impressed with the pool, live band, and out door bars they had. Fun spot!

Nice hotel. Staff is very attentive. Great restaurant on-site.

Our stay was pleasant overall. It s in a nice location, the lobby is well decorated. The room was not cleaned very well, which made us a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom sink was clogged, but it was fixed in a matter of minutes as soon as we reported it to the front desk.

The main reason for the four stars was the front desk staff member, Kristi. She provided us with exceptional service. Upon arriving, she was very friendly and efficient in checking us in. She was so friendly, in fact, that my toddler became instant friends with her. We requested some plates and silverware to have dinner in our room and she personally delivered them to us in less than five minutes. We reported the clogged sink to her, and she was apologetic and sent someone up right away to fix it. We requested bottles of water in the morning in order to make a cup of coffee in the Keurig and she was again very accommodating and friendly. The water arrived to our room in less than five minutes. She never made us feel like we were a bother, and she remained so bubbly and friendly throughout our stay.

Stayed here twice now. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Pool is great and the views are too!

The Sunday brunch buffet was really good. Monte, the chef running the omelette bar, has to be the hardest working man in Spring Lake for those few hours. A very good experience.

Great location, wonderful staff. I'd give it a 5 after they're done with the major renovations currently being done. I think they will bring it back to a great experience. In the meantime, we'll stay here because everything else is good.

This place was lovely, the rooms were big and comfy, the service was pleasant. I would go back in heartbeat except for one major issue: they charged us wrong, repeatedly. We had more than one room reserved, and were part of a wedding party. Our room was supposed to be charged to another card that was on file. My parents room was supposed to be paid in cash. They charged our credit cards for several nights, for both rooms, and when I called to complain they charged us AGAIN perhaps charging us accidentally instead of refunding us. Now the refund is pending, my bank has charged me fees and their mistake has caused me great stress and humiliation. When I VERY politely tried to explain the situation they simply said 'it isnt our fault you had charges come across while we had your money on hold for our fees, we had to get paid.' They were polite, but firm, no relief from the mistakes THEY made with our rooms. NO APOLOGY, no offer of a free room at some other time, no nothing but, too bad, so sad. Meanwhile, I am out 1200+ dollars unexpectedly, while it was not supposed to be any charge at all. I am saddened and will never stay at a Holiday Inn again after this experience. I guess it really is all about the money for some companies. I would think word of mouth and continued happy guests would be a better thing to have. We were great guests: clean, polite, respectable, not problematic in any way. Too bad, we will have to take our solid travel business elsewhere. I guess we'll keep going to the other places we love to regularly visit, like Sleeping Bear, Saugatuck, Holland, TC, etc. Spring lake was nice for the first visit, too bad it will be the last!

Very new and nice facility the staff was friendly. The restaurant attached had great breakfast.

Clean, newly remodeled. Location is good as far as getting into town, onto freeway, but quite noisy.

Once the remodel is done this will be a superb hotel. The restaurant is pretty decent too. Rooms are updated. And staff is extremely helpful. Indoor n outdoor pools. Right on harbor. Will stay again.

We ate at Jack's restaurant. It was great! The food was excellent, the service was fantastic. We called ahead because we had a large group of kids, the manager set up a special table for us and made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely go back.

I had a fantastic dinner at Burger Theory! What made it special was my waitress Sylvia! She was a great listener as I wanted my wings, burger and salad prepared a certain way. She never even batted and eye..she repeated my order and made sure it was perfect when she delivered my dinner.

I drink 2 gallons of water a day. When I asked if she could bring me a pitcher of water, her reply was "no problem"! Sylvia filled it up and explained that I could take it up to my room...she even wrapped the top so I wouldn't spill any on the way up to my room.

Sylvia was nothing short of great and always had smile! Great job and please keep smiling. You are awesome!

The first thing I noticed about the hotel was how clean and bright it was throughout the lobby. The front desk was a pleasant experience despite there being no internet or use of computers this day, in fact the gentleman even used a credit card press copier that makes a triplicate of the embossed numbers on the card.. like the one from the 80s. After a blast from the past in the lobby and a friendly conversation about old school technology with the desk, I headed to my room. The hotel room was comfortable and clean. It has a refrigerator, a decent television and all the other standard items you'll find in any hotel. The view was neat as the hotel sits on one of the rivers coming through this area where small boats can come to harbor. No boat traffic was present this visit as there was already a skim coating of ice on the waters. Within walking distance is a pretty awesome brewery, the food there is stellar and worth a visit.

Had an issue with our apartment recently and needed a place to stay locally. The service was excellent. I really can t thank this location enough for accommodating us on short notice.

I had a great experience! All of the hotel staff was polite and courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The Sunday brunch was amazing, good selection and good food. Will definitely go back.

I stay here when I have to travel from metro Detroit for work. In the past 6 years I don't have any complaints. I've been to other hotels in Grand Haven, but I keep coming here.

One of the better IHG properties I have stayed at. My room overlooked the outdoor pool, the tiki bar, and the river. Great service. Jack's river side restuarant had a wonderful Sunday brunch. The food was fantastic. Loved every minute of my stay. I highly recommend this property.
