Don't waste your time on this store. Very poor customer service. I ordered an Adidas Ultraboost, and they shipped the wrong shoes! Tried to coordinate with their customer service several times and they were very uncooperative and uncoordinated. This company needs a lot of improvement.

I love supporting local businesses. Holabird has been my go to since I moved to Maryland! The staff there are super friendly, knowledgeable, and fast! And their online shopping is also a breeze! Highly recommend this store if you are into tennis and/or running!

I ve been walking & hiking more since March as well as increasing my mileage. My heels and left knee would hurt sometimes when I reached 4-6 miles. I asked my massage therapist if she had suggestions and she recommended new shoes. I went in to Holabird Sports just to look at the different brands as I m not a runner but I know they have an amazing selection of shoes. George was excellent, he asked me a number of questions first before recommending a few different brands/models for my foot type, pronation and pain points. At first he showed me a few styles and I ll be honest I didn t like the color/design, he replied it s about the fit not the look! I tried on the shoes he suggested and he showed me a new way to lace and tie them that runners use. I could tell the difference in 5 minutes of walking around the store. I was sold on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20! Lucky for me they came in a color combo I liked, I never would have looked at that shoe had it not been for George s suggestion since it was advertised as a running shoe. The customer service and overall experience was top notch, you can t get that personal one-on-one attention buying online. Moral of the story, shop local and tell George I sent you, he knows his shoes for sure!

i ordered a pair of running shoes , i had a glitch in returning them , given Covid i was probably impatient all is resolved , i recommend Holabird 100 % and will purchase a replacement pair from them

I bought some tennis court shoes online that costs $89. The shoes didn't fit right so I had to return them. I had purchased several models of the shoe at the same size so I thought these would fit too but a slight change in the design made them too tight. Returning them costs me $16 because Holabird doesn't pay return shipping. Many companies have. Int his day and age there are many companies that offer free returns for purchases over $50.or even less. Don't buy online from Holabird unless you know you won't have to return or you don't mind paying to do so.

If you buy stuff anywhere else you are making a mistake..

My order was for a Babolat Play raquet and unfortunately it stopped working. Customer service of Holabird sports at first seemed helpful but they gave me several pieces of misinformation. First they told me that I would have a raquet back in a week then when I sent it back they told me 4-6 weeks since they needed to forward to the manufacturer. Why didn't they have me send it directly to Babolat then?
Each time I needed to call Babolat myself. Disappointed. Won't be ordering from them again...

Knowledgeable sales crew. Was very busy so it took a little longer than expected. Purchased running shoes and sports bra. Was overcharged on price of bra. Needed to make a return trip for $18 refund next day! Wish i had caught it at time of purchase. It would have saved me a return round trip.

They were very nice pulled everything I wanted and a gentleman was helping me and he was very helpful so it was a very good experience

They sent me red balls instead of regular balls and now I have a new job to send them back to them (print out the label, take them to USPS, then tell them the tracking number). They will not either refund or send me the actual balls I ordered before I do this. Will never deal with them again - I shouldn't have to spend time and energy fixing their shipping mistake. Boo!

Archaic return policy in that one must pay for return shipping (and write a hand written note, and talk to them, hard to believe!!). This is in contrast to many of their competitors who cover return shipping. Due to this policy I will never order from them again. Future customers please be aware of their return policy before ordering.

I bought a great tennis racket from Holabird but when they were advertising the racket to me they didn t bother to see if they had it in stock. Kinda sucked not getting the racket I wanted but I got a good racket and great tennis shoes!

This was my first online buying experience. Shoes are great price. Wide variety and selection. Though they have a great selection in shoes, their customer service needs some help. It took them 4-5 days to process my order and have shipped to me. Then transit time on top of that. Also, you'd think for expedited orders they'd make a point to quickly get them out the door. Not here. Return process was miserable. They make it near impossible and don't respond to emails for hours and sometimes days. All information isn't given such as where and how to get a label for return. I have an order that was cancelled a week ago that is still "processing." Funds have not been returned to my account. All in all, experience was nothing but a headache and will not be buying here again.

I went looking for a racquetball racket. They have stopped carrying most lines previously offered and selection for racquetball was limited. I found a racquet within my price point. If you are looking for tennis or pickle ball equipment, this is the place.

Awesome. Helpful and very knowledgeable staff that truly knows what kind of shoe to recommend. Large selection of running shoes. Have a huge array of sizes, 15s, even 4E, which are darn near impossible to find in stores. Perfect if you are looking for running shoes.

I ordered my shoes with different Shipping and Mailing addresses. The next day I got a call and an email saying that my order was flagged for security reasons. I gave them a call back and all I needed to do was say what address I wanted it shipped to. Not only is this inefficient and annoying, but there is zero added security here. Anyone could have taken my credit card and confirmed the address they wanted it shipped to and Holabird would have trusted it, so this step is pointless.

My order arrived and the shoes were much smaller than I expected, even though this is my standard shoe size order. I had to send an email in order to get 'Authorized' for a return. Now I need to pay for shipping back to Holabird. So now I'm out two weeks, wasted time and shipping costs.

Amazon shoes may cost a little more, but I'll gladly pay it for free 2 day shipping and free returns. Don't think I'll be giving Holabird a shot again.

This company is fabulous! I ordered running shoes on Tuesday and they arrived on Friday, I was expecting them until next week! They had the best price and the customs service was amazing. Best running shoe company!

Staff was really helpful, helped me selecting right pair of running shoes for me since I had stress fracture on my left leg. Jason suggested me few shoes and helped me during entire try out process. Definitely will go again for buying my next pair & sports accessories.

I found this shop on a google search for a specific type of running shoe. They had it is stock and was cheaper than Amazon! They also shipped for cheap and I received in less than 24 hours to Philly!

Today we received a product that was damaged in shipping. It was a very special gift my son was giving to his girlfriend for her upcoming birthday. We hadn't been able to locate it locally due to the popular color. We ordered it though Amazon and didn't realize it was a third party transaction until I called Holabird Sports (the name on the label) to check on how to return it. I was a bit freaked out that there would be a problem with the third party part. Debbie was awesome in processing our problem and making sure I had a return label and would get the new one by the date I needed. Plus she offered to send some free items with the replacement. She went out of her way to assist from the start and I was able to relax. Now I will keep them in mind when I need to order other sporting goods!!

My online experience with Holabird was horrible. First It took them 3 days to even process my order to get get sent out (Even though they took my money the same night). Second thing is that they forgot to ship my entire order!!! They eventually called me to tell me that they did not have what I had ordered, but when I tried to ask them questions about my options they gave me the run around and even told me they did not have time for me and that they were busy. Yes. Really! If racquets are out of stock why would the option still be available online. I ordered two of the same racquets but they only sent one....that's stupid. They should have called before they even shipped my order. So ass backwards. The funny thing is that I actually stopped ordering from Holabird 3 years ago because of the poor customer service and lack of organization within the company, but I see nothing has changed. I will NEVER order anything from there again. A friend did say that in store shopping is good, but I would not shop online with them.

Update: I sent an email to Holabrid explaining my concerns. They returned call and handle the situation in what I feel was a professional and reasonable manner. In the end I'm satisfied with the outcome. I may try them again now and see if the next order goes through a little more smoothly.

I haven't ordered much from Holabird but they advertised some GT2000s and it was a pretty good price so I ordered them. A few days days later I got a call that telling me the shoe I ordered was not in stock. I called them back and spoke to a representative. I asked asked if the had a different color in stock. She check and told me they did. The next day I get another call telling me that my second choice was not in stock either. So, either their inventory management is bad or the gave some other customer priority over me. I find either case troubling. When I called and talk to another representative and the only option she offered was to cancel the order. It was quite a waste of my time. I haven't had this experience with other online retailers.

I spent about an hour here today. I was impressed with the size and variety of their running shoe inventory, and the staff members were friendly, attentive, and helpful.

I have purchased from them many times and had great experiences. I have returned shoes to this company before and have never had any problems. This is one of the few places that I regularly purchase shoes for the family.

So far, I haven't had a negative experience in over 10 purchases.

I used to buy all my running shoes from Holabird (6 to 8 over the last few years). But now I don't. I have a very wide foot. 4E width. The redesigned website does not filter width. So I USED to spend a lot of time clicking on a shoe to see if they had my width available. Most times they didn't. Maybe they don't carry as many 4E's any more so they stopped filtering width. It's a shame, because I used to love shopping their website. I've been forced to move on.

Staff and prices are great. I wouldnt make the 45 minutes drive from my house if they werent.

My order of tennis shoes and tennis related items like strings and grips came in a timely manner, but one pair of the three pairs of shoes I purchased was way too tight, so I called and asked for a return tag to be emailed to me to print out so that I can ship them back at Holabird's expense, as per their policy. So, far I have called three times and sent one email in the past ten days or so... but still no return tag. Everyone I've spoken with has been extremely nice and seemed efficient - the last two women both said "I'm giving this to a supervisor right now to take care of, so you're all set." WELL, I'M NOT!!!
I am posting this negative review in the hopes that someone above the manager level at the company sees this and does something about it, before I contact them a fifth time. Holabird will need to offer me a sizable 'no strings attached' credit on my next order ($50, perhaps) or I'll switch to one of their many similar competitors. There's no excuse for this, it isn't rocket science.

I placed an order on Thursday over the web and received my shoes at noon the next day. Wow! Great customer service...

Best shoe store ever. I wear a size 13 wide or size 14 depending on the shoe brand. Best selection ever.

Customer service is great. Excellent employees who understand you might spend hours trying on shoes due to big feet to get the right fit.

The best thing about this store is no sales pressure and all employees want you to have the right shoes which is critical to success while running.

I even wrote to runners world magazine to get them added to top list of running stores. I have bee in many running stores. No other store is even in the same ball park.

Returns process is simple with no hassles. I ordered a pair online that did not work visited the store and took the return right back.

The best thing about the store is cost effective. You pay a fair price for shoes vs other stores with higher cost for the same shoe.

I recommend this store to everyone. I drive 1 and a half hours to the store. It's well worth the drive.

Once you learn the process of shopping in the store it's great picking the shoes out.

Shouldn't take an on line order for items that are not it stock....While you shouldn't have to, if placing an order on line with Holabird I'd recommend following up with them after you order to make sure they have your item in stock. At all other tennis gear sites I've ever ordered shoes from, when it comes to selecting the size the web form only displays the sizes in stock. On the plus side, when I called in to inquire about my order, Mary (in customer service) was very cordial and professional . Unfortunately this interaction did not make up for loosing almost an entire week looking for my order to arrive.

This a great place to go for tennis gear. The selection is first rate. I was able to demo a few rackets on their half court. I dealt with a pro who was very knowledgeable. I picked up some sneakers and the selection was almost overwhelming (in a good way).

I ordered two Garmin Vivoactive 3 devices for Christmas. There was a slight problem with the purchase but after working with the customer service team, I have to say I'm confident that I ordered from the right company. Obviously there's a ton of places to place any online order so I would always prefer to spend my money with one that takes customer service seriously. I received prompt and clear replies and feel good about the resolution reached. I'll definitely be purchasing from Holabird again and will encourage my friends to do the same. Thanks for making me a happy customer!!

One of our gym instructor recommended this place. One Ms. Peg was there to assist us. Excellent customer care. She didn't rush us, instead explained to us the pros and cons of each shoe going to our feet. We went there to buy a shoe for me; ended up buying a pair for my husband and for my daughter.

1 star for the shipping. 0 for everything else about this company. I bought a pair of sneakers for $130, they were half size too small after taking a short run around the block. I live in the city so it is just pavement. The bottom of the shoes were as worn as a short run around the block on cement. I stated that to customer service after them asking if I ran in them. Then they proceeded to allow me to return. I wanted to exchange but they told me they didn't have the next size up. So I said I'll just return. I bought the correct size at a different retailer. Then I received in the mail that they are giving me in-store credit for $130 instead of refunding me. After I called they told me the shoes were worn and they can't refund me. Not once did they mention over the phone that they had to assess the shoes before a refund. I would have waited for an exchange instead of buying elsewhere. Now I have a stupid credit where I don't need anything.

Also- the customer service were so rude, huge attitude, and so unhelpful. As an online retailer, this is the worst way to conduct business. Especially with sneakers. How else would you try out a running sneaker without running in them??

I will never recommend this store to anyone! DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Ordered tennis string 4 days ago..wont be delivered until 11/8?...nothing should take 8 days in the continental US ..when got the notice it wouldn't be here until 11/8 i.ordered the same string on Amazon yesterday...free ..delivered tonite..rackets in for stringing tonite ...if your ok with forever on delivery Holabird is ok...want it quickly..Tennis Express, Amazon, tennis Wharehouse...

Apart from having great sale prices, their customer service (Brian & Martha) is awesome, and super responsive! My orders always arrive on time (or ahead of schedule). I have always ordered online and will continue to do so!

This place is simply incredible. Always such a great selection of inventory. Extremely friendly staff. If you need anything, absolutely anything for tennis this is the place to go. The prices are right and the brands you want are all here. Need a new racket? Try dozens of them out on their test court and the stringing is done while you wait. There is a huge selection of top gear for playing tennis, racket ball and even pickle ball. Well done Holabird. You have a customer for life.

My wife and I went in so we could both get new running shoes. I was looking for a couple specific pairs, and they had them plus a couple more that worked for me. Excellent selection. The woman who helped us provided great customer service, and everyone was friendly despite the fact we were there at closing time.

Website is inaccurate. Do not believe everything they are telling you before buying products. Most of the products aren't available and will have to order their products from east coast and their store is in west coast. It will take roughly 2-3weeks to get it shipped to you. Good Luck!

It was my first time ordering shoes online and I was a bit weary because of the past reviews and sizing (I had never really had my feet measured properly). I was always ordering a size that was bigger than usual since my feet were too wide.
After developing ankle issues from twists and sprains (go figure), my podiatrist referred me to Holabird Sports to order New Balance shoes.

When I received the New Balance shoes, I put them on and my friend told me that they were too big on my feet. Holabird Sports was understanding and patient. They let me return the shoes with no cost to shipping, and I stopped by a shoe store to get my correct size.
Unfortunately, I had a popped tire and the shoes were too narrow this time around.
They allowed me to return the shoes for a refund (with the box damaged from shipping) and were really polite throughout our conversations.

Shipping and email responses were also really prompt. In fact, they responded to my inquiries in less than 2 hours.
I had no issues with Holabird Sports, and their customer service is great. I'd definitely buy from them in the future!

They have a huge selection of shoes. This is not a self service shopping experience. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful, especially when you are like me and don't know what you want, only a general idea of what you need. They have a system that works.

Even though my shoe did not fit (manufacturing and my weird foot) the online return process was cake.

This store specializes in running and tennis gear. I stopped by to restring my tennis racket earlier today, and was impressed with the service. Only $16 for restringing (+$8 for some cheap strings), and it took ~45 minutes because there were 2-3 rackets ahead of mine. Not bad! The store is pretty big, so I had enough to look at while waiting. There is a fenced-off area with a practice wall, for you to demo rackets. Cool store, will definitely be coming here for all of my tennis needs.

I love the fact that this is a 3rd generation family owned business, that they have a great variety of quality equipment, and excellent prices.

I was a little doubtful about a couple of Lou s customer service responses and would suggest to change the website to default to fastest shipping option (+$10.95) and then indicate on the super saver the time it will take. With Amazon everyone expects fast, so these website changes should help clarify and avoid one star reviews (which, by the way, I find a little binary: yes, it took 6 days to get it, is that really a reason to go from 5 to 1 star?; come on). Anyway, I am a fan and glad I shop there.
