Beautiful hotel. Went there for a 2 day work event. High quality service, lovely environment
Stunning hotel, fantastic staff, luxurious and in a perfect location. Would definitely stay again.
Impeccable customer service. Rooms are bit.dated the flooring etc, but it adds a certain charm. It's in a ideal location within walking distance to the tourist attractions and close to the train station.
Hotel is located close to major attractions. Walkable to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square. St. James underground is right next door. Room was a bit cramped but for the location, it should be expected.
In 2016, we had a plesent visit at the Ermins given it was being converted to a Marriott Autograph Collection and much still needed attention. We returned this year for eight days, Dec 22-30. Much has changed, for the worst. First the lieing was not to be believed. A broken light bulb left in the corner of the room after it exploded and I personally reported to management. The bath floor are like glass, very dangerous...The linen not changed on a regular bases and often housekeeping left items from previous day(s)...We were promised "Breakfest with Suite" than pretty much accused of lying on the last day, I said ' Please make tis clear, I dont NEED a free breakfest" All in all, after hundreds of Marriott experiences all over the world, My youngest Cavalier is NAMED Marriott, not withstanding, this says something.... My Partner and I are so diaspointed. Late the night before departure I was told all would be resolved before morning...I suggested that gentleman (Evening Mgr) hurry as he had me at a table in an empty dining room for a hour telling me that NONE of our complaints should ever have happened, and midnight was approaching.....He did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!! He said ' Believe me you will be very pleasing surprised when you receive your folio tomorrow' Did not happen, LAST lie! I will further take this up with Marriott International, we have two M.Hotels we love, one in Paris and one in Rome and they love us as well AND THEY CAN BE TRUSTED!!!!!!!
I Must say the bell staff, concerige etc were excillent!
The staff was very professional and unobtrusive while working quickly. We were there for tea time. There was a wide selection of teas and our host, Gavin, was very knowledgeable and helped us choose what we would like best.
Same exactly breakfast every single day gets a bit old. Staff is generally quite friendly, especially in the restaurant.
Two fire alarms waking me up in the same night is unacceptable. The hotel and Marriott responded to make this situation right.
Lines can get a bit long at the front desk before they bring out support staff.
Business center - 1 computer wouldn t turn on, 1 printer didn t work, another printer was out of toner, and another computer the internet didn t work. I was able to scrounge together a working machine and printer from the parts in front of me. A lot of work to print a doc.
Location is great. Just a couple blocks to the underground. A couple more to St James Park, Westminster Abby, parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and other main attractions.
Rooms are small, quaint but clean and tidy. Bottled water is nice. Kit kat seems random to me. Why not an English treat?
Arrived at 9am after an exhausting flight and the door man knew our name...now that was a first for me... Hotel was clean bright and staff were extremely helpful. The Caxton Grill, attached to the hotel, offered a great selection for lunch and dinner. Only 2 minutes from the St James underground stop and a 5 minute walk to Westminster Abbey. A great location for our visit.
Beautiful hotel with a fabulous lobby, cool bar, and modern rooms. Staff was attentive and very helpful. Lovely courtyard, great stay. Central location with short walking distance to Buckingham Palace, theatre district etc... with a subway entrance a minute away. Highly recommended, will return.
Prompt service, all staff were warm and helpful, tea was delicious and the position on the balcony was excellent!
Pleasant staff...very small bathrooms and rooms...guests who don't travel very well (not the hotels fault)
Nice hotel in Westminster area. Staff are professional and helpful. Breakfasts are great
Great location for walking to many of London's attractions, and just a block from St James tube station, so it was easy to go to places that were a bit further out. Beautiful lobby, helpful staff, comfortable room. Also had 2 US plugs, 2 Euro plugs (like Germany or Italy) and 3 UK plugs on a strip on the desk. Room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Very nice.
First of all, I will put the excellent location and elegant hotel layout aside, just say something about the hotel s staff. My wife and I come to London for a short vacation to celebrate our anniversary. I casually mentioned it to a gentleman at the front desk, and then, all warm and heartened things keep moving us profoundly! There is no need to elaborate all the kind gestures the hotel staff showed to us sincerely and naturally, I just want to tell people who are reading this comment: this is a highly professional and decent staff team, they truly care the customers, and what can go wrong if you choose a hotel to stay and it happens to have such a lovely and caring staff? This is my feeling of our first day stay, and I hope I can appreciate more at the time when I check out!
Quite expensive, but service and location are excellent!
Absolutely gorgeous place. We just went here for drinks, so can't comment on the accommodation, but the setting is beautiful! It used to be a spy base during WW2 for SOE (Special Operations Executive), and sitting there thinking about what scenes were taking place some 70 years ago was quite an interesting moment to take. The decor inside is truly striking. Would definitely recommend!
This is a great hotel, with an interesting history. Good location for central London.
A quiet and comfortable hotel with friendly service. Too bad they re not well-versed in the history of the place!
We had an amazing London vacation staying at this lovely hotel! Great service, great location, great everything!
A lovely hotel in a good, central location. Our room was cleaned and tidied beautifully each day, the staff were amazingly kind and friendly. I am very glad we stayed here.
Child-friendly yet opulent. Nice combination.
Love the terrace for a light meal and drinks.
Thank you for making our week long stay feel like home. Your staff were so friendly, professional and helpful. We stayed 5 nights for our Anniversary at this beautiful hotel and they delivered making it a special occasion by placing a bottle of wine and some chocolates in our room during our check in. However, our room was not ready early morning (8AM) after our long flight from the states, so we walked around and came back to check in around 2PM. Not a big issue for us and we used that time wisely. The breakfast is definitely worth the charge, although ours was included with the room rate, everything you could want is available. This renovated hotel has great history, and our King room (although smaller) had everything you needed from bath, shower, mini-bar, espresso, LED TV and more all with turn down service. We specifically had chosen this Marriott property for its location to the tourist spots and are very glad we did! The underground is 5 minutes around the corner. We also took advantage of the Private chauffeur/taxi service for a less stress to and from the airport. Again, on time and everything was handled through emails with the concierge before leaving the USA. Onsite Restaurant, the bees, truly a full service hotel! Highly recommended... Cheers!
5 star service and venue, excellent breakfast, disappointing rooms and wedding supper.
We only had afternoon tea but it wasn't all that great. Harrods was much better.
Lovely Afternoon Tea, beautiful decor and good service. The scones were a bit on the small side for me and the mixed berry jam didn't hit the spot (Strawberry jam is the only thing I truly enjoy with cream tea).
Brilliant hotel combining excellent central location with friendly staff and a top notch restaurant. Rooms are of a decent size when compared to others in London. Laundry service was both fast and professional although not cheap.
Wonderful hotel with lovely staff. Great location and safe area. The breakfast was okay room for improvement but overall all a good hotel would recommend :)
The rooms are really nice and the service is wonderful.
The hotel is well located and the staff very pleasant. The restaurant is great for breakfast, but service can be long in the evening. The room we had was beautiful. The hotel needs better attention to maintenance. The lift near our room was broken the entire stay (3 nights) with a cute sign acknowledging this. At checkout, one of the other 2 lifts available was broken leaving 1 lift to service most of the hotel. It prioritized higher floors...so as we were on the second floor, no lift for us and no staff available to help or notify us. The result of the lengthy delay departing was missed transportation and a missed flight. I sent an email to the hotel with no response. After the second email, I received a response, not an apology, but with jokes about the hotel...called "the old lady". The hotel is wonderful....if you don't have any problems or need anyone to be serious with you.
This is an exceptionally nice hotel. The rooms are very nicely decorated, if small. The beds are very comfortable. From front desk to houskeeping, the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. The satdf provides fresh bottled water and a snack each day, which is also a very nice touch.
The restaurant has a morning buffet with a variety of pastries, fruits, eggs, meats and cheeses. For lunch and dinner they have a variety of fine dining options. Many of the ingredients are sourced from their rooftop garden, and they have fresh honey from the "Bee Terrace" on the third floor. You can watch their set of six beehives from behind the safety of a floor to ceiling glass window. It's a fun change of pace in the big city to watch the bees go about their business in and out of the hives.
The hotel also features a lovely garden with a variety of different flowers, many if which are intended to attract more bees in butterflies. The garden provides a very soothing countey oasis in Central London.
The hotel is just a two minute walk from the tube station, 5 minutes from St. James's Park and about 19 minutes' walk from Buckingham Palace. This is central location close to everything.
If you're looking for a luxurious hotel right in the heart of everything, St. Ermin's is a great place to stay.
So rare to find this kind of perfect service in this area of London. Tucked away in a quiet spot it s in a tremendous location and offers an amazing level of quality throughout. It isn t cheap, in any sense of the word, but the prices are entirely reasonable considering the location, opulent glitz and outstanding service. Love it!
Hotel is in a perfect location to see the sights of London. Room was great and looked recently refurbished. Staff on reception always smiling and helpful, will definitely stay here again.
Location, food, staff, room, experience, all perfect.
Very comfortable. Very attentive and efficient staff. The double double room we got was a bit small for us 4 to our liking and the narrow double bed. Overall to recommend.
This historical Hotel has a great location and a beautiful atmosphere with a very pleasant view and the staff are friendly,,I love how clean and comfortable
The hotel has a wonderful design the rooms are a little bit small that they location is close to Buckingham Palace and walking distance from a lot of other attractions as well. The hotel is crowded and has lots of weddings so pls advise when coming in and out
This is a great London hotel. It is spacious and has a great food and drink selection. It also has a history of being used by spies from many different countries with secret tunnels. There is a book about it you should look up. The breakfast is amazing and has a lot of choices for all diets. There is a bee sanctuary hidden away on the upper floors you can go see too.
The concierge was excellent, loved the terrance restaurant. Beautifully decorated
rooms and a great historical place to stay.
Very friendly and outstanding service! Beautiful hotel in great location
Just had a cappuccino and cookies with some friends.... Delicious!
Very nice hotel in general. Desserts are a little on the weak side.
However, getting internet access is like pulling teeth. Say goodbye to free unlimited WiFi, you have to re-register for every day you're here. If you pull more than 200 MB (a single youtube video), you'll be shut off for the day. If you register too many computers (a laptop and a phone), you'll be cut off from adding additional devices as well (did you have TWO people in your double room? so sorry!). Did you want to send a few pictures? 50MB upload limited per day (one video or 10 pictures or a few minutes of video chat). Think you can use the business center's computers? 25p per minute.
Oh, and it's limited to 256KB/s unless you pay them daily stipends. (Which means no Skype.)
You'd think they wouldn't ration internet like electrical power on a Greek island in a four star hotel...
Great location, breakfast included, close walk to lots of London sights!
Lovely hotel with interesting wwii history (check wikipedia) great location and a very good deal for afternoon tea.
Nice rooms and lobby, but I didn't have the greatest customer service from the front desk. Check in is suppose to be a 3pm, but we didn't get in to our room until 3:30, which normally wouldn't be a big deal but was no fun with a tired infant coming off a plane. Furthermore, the only alternative offered was for us to pay for a more expensive room despite it being their error. Outside of this issue, the doormen and bell hop were all delightful to speak with while visiting.
The service was reasonable for the specified hotel category expected a little more.
The accommodation was generally good, spectacular cleanliness with no aspects to mention. The bathroom was small, and the decor was slightly outdated, there could be improvements, however in an excellent location for those who want to be visiting the city or on business. The price is neither expensive nor cheap is adequate. The exterior looks beautiful, the entrance and lobby too.
Beautiful hotel. Afternoon tea was the best I've had so far. Lovely staff
Great location and service. Very friendly and helpful staff.
All staff are rude and unwilling while the room is comfy and breakfast is to die for....not one member off staff was polite ...bar and grill staff included this hotel is not worth its price tag in any way
Five stars is not enough for this hotel. It is stunning, great rooms, wonderful restaurant and minutes from the palace. I have stayed at many Hotels in London, but this hotel is in a class of its own.
Went for a work function. The server couldn't be less bothered with how he served. The food was good... Bit dark in the dinner time but otherwise it looks great!
Luxurious environment, super wedding day care, professional management, excellent cuisine.
My room was very nice, the staff here were very helpful and friendly.
There still is an aura of antiquated colonial spirit in this hotel which architecture resolutely places its foundations. The lounge bar is a very quiet place where i really enjoy having an evening drink with a friend. Good service. Music sometimes a tad high, but often depends on the staff so i just ask to reduce the sound and they kindly oblige.
This is a jewel in the Marriott crown. The staff are incredible with impeccable attitudes and willingness to assist their clientele. The rooms are fabulous with all amenities that make a stay in London absolutely memorable. And did I mention its central location? A must-stay Marriott property.
Elegant hotel with easy access to main sites in London
Gorgeous hotel near sites, pubs and his it's own bee hotel.
I stayed at St Ermins for two nights recently with my husband and two children and had an amazing experience. The staff were amazing, very friendly, and welcoming. The cleanliness of the hotel was of an excellent standard. Food was exquisite with a wide variety of different choices. The chef interacted with the customers ensuring everything was to the customers satisfaction which you very rarely witness. The staff were only too happy to help with anything we needed. To witness the concierge welcoming the guests and interacting with the children not just the parents was remarkable as they were made to feel special and important. We took amazing photos at the hotel and I have friends commenting on how amazing the hotel looks in the photos. I can honestly say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to make their trip or visit something to remember. Thank you to all who work at St Ermins and made our stay wonderful, you do an amazing job. You certainly have made me want to return again
The hotel was amazing! The attention to detail was phenomenal. My wife and I were here for a belated honeymoon and they were kind enough to send up a bottle of Prosecco. The room was beautiful, the hotel was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent and the afternoon tea was awesome! I highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent welcome, team at the top. Everything is done so that you (including children) spend a pleasant stay.
A little more for the people of the reception who try to speak French, too friendly ...
Luxury hotel and an extra breakfast never seen better elsewhere.
Posh hotel with great decoration, right in the middle of the city.
Really good. Concierge and staff all friendly and helpful. Rooms and hotel itself were spotless and beautifully appointed. Breakfast and drinks etc were nicely cooked and served. Close to some of the absolute classic central London tourist attractions but in a sufficiently quiet area that you get a good chance of a peaceful nights sleep.
very nice hotel...the food is good..service fast...decor nice
Came for a wedding and the staff were great. Building is also very elegant and beautiful.
I enjoyed my stay at the st. Ermins hotel. The hotel lobby looked very nice. The room felt very comfortable and was supplied well, including mainland European plugs. I especially liked the breakfast, it was extensive and very good. The location was also very convenient close to many attractions and easily accessible by public transportation.
Food is okay but not matched to its status. No fresh juice during breakfast and lunch. The selection of food is limited.
Beautiful Hotel conveniently located between Buckingman Palace, Big Ben and Parliament.
Great hotel great food highly recommend a visit here
Absolutely amazing experience. Staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Food is amazing.
Nice afternoon tea in a smaller boutique style hotel with friendly staff and a special children's menu. A few of the cakes weren't really to our liking but that was more a personal preference thing than them being badly made.
Quite a quirky hotel but steeped in World War 2 history. Was used as a secret service headquarters and commandeered by Churchill. There's even a secret passage here. Service was understated by efficient. Most pleasant day spent here.
Stayed one night on Saturday 3 June before embarking on the Simplon-Orient Express to Venice. Reception staff very professional and friendly as were the baggage porters and staff in the breakfast room. We only ate buffet breakfast at the hotel, which was very good. The hotel is in a great location, reception rooms decor is magnificent, bedroom, not over large, but very clean with modern decor and great en-suite shower room. I used all points ( saving for a long time!) to pay for the stay so cannot comment on value but would return.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are amazing and the hotel is in a great location. Really glad we stayed here.
