Unfortunately my experience at the Short Hills Hilton was not pleasant. The tub was clogged and informed the hotel about it.
They shrugged it off and tried not to resolve it. Very poor customer experience.
Rooms are decent. Service is great, especially for meetings. Internet access is questionable. The restaurant is very expensive.
Great hotel, fantastic bar and great service. Nice for a weekend getaway if you leave the kids at Grandma's
Nice building but Staff at check-in unwelcoming. I arrived at 3 to check in but was given the wrong room. Took 40 minutes to get moved to the correct room and get settled. So far I am not impressed.
Great place, nice staff, clean rooms!! Pools are awesome
Not perfect, but close. A bit pricey perhaps, but would still live there if we could.
the rooms have been newly renovated in 2018 indoor and outdoor pool during summer time and complimentary shuttle to the short hills mall if you don't feel like walking. only a 4 min walk
Very accommodating however the sheets were not clean and had stations on them. I had to call down for them to change the sheets. I felt bad but I was not comfortable sleeping on unclean bedding.
Room was decent, not a bad size and bed was ok but all told nothing amazing. NO in room movie options, no room service and just s small snack shop next to registration desk.
Great service and it's very nice but extremely overpriced.
Did a spa day with my wife. Not the best accomodations and would not go again.
It is a very nice and confortable place to be. The rooms are clean. the location is kinda difficult to get to, but the place is very spacious.
Excellent service, speedy check in, beautiful clean rooms, lively bar area and reasonable valet parking.
My Sister's And I Stayed Here While Dealing With A Family Loss. The Room, Staff And Food Was Great. It Was A Great Comfort, Having Such Kind People, Like A Taste Of Southern Hospitality Up North.
Nice hotel, but don't understand their no outside food or drink policy. Wouldn't stay there again because of the policy
The spa is out of this world. Great massages and great service.
The place and staff were excellent, but I found the food to be mediocre
Room was nice. lobby and facilities were nice. clean place and friendly staff. Door didn't close right. Toilet didn't flush.
Amazing hotel. Clean, great food, across from Short Hills Mall. Will def stay here again.
My husband and I are Gold members and have been staying at the Short Hills Hilton for 20+ years. We have used it for long weekends and also brought our children with us as well. I have noticed a decline in the professionalism of staff as well as the amenities. The towels are rough and not plush like they use to be. No frills (kind of like the hampton inn) The toiletries have been downgraded as well. I first started noticing the decline when we stayed on the Tower floors (amenties became more and more scarce). I dont usually leave reviews but I'm hoping that this will be helpful.
Good location, front desk staff is rude, valet guys are very friendly, food is ridiculously expensive and no breakfast included with your stay. But what really pissed me off is that I could not adjust the thermostat in my room! I woke up drenched in sweat each night during my stay because, in the winter, the heat just pumps into the room and I could not cut it off or turn the a/c on! They take the complimentary coffee service away at 8:30 am! Why? Why not have coffee all day or at least until noon?! Also, if you're not an honors member YOU DON'T GET COMPLIMENTARY WIFI!!! I can't believe a billion dollar hotel corporation like Hilton charges for wifi!! The Hilton honors program is a total scam and this hotel is weak.
This an older property that has been fairly well maintained. There are some upscale aspects, especially in lobby area. The rooms are spacious and could be quite nice. The staff experience is spotty, however. Some are great and some are very poor at service. Hotel dining was good one night with exceptional steak sandwich and solid service. The next day, service was terrible as server just disappeared and food was over salted. She didn't deliver my ordered drinks and had to be tracked down just to get the bill. Room prices are a little high, given the quality and cleanliness. Food prices are same. Mattress smelled like wet dog once it was up to body temperature. Front desk was, meh, when problem reported at checkout. The bathroom could have been great, but cheap low flow shower head was a piece of junk. Needles of water spitting at you...I was so disappointed. I have had better showers at state park campgrounds. This place is positioned as premium and priced on the low end of that range but they have a lot of work to do just to compete in upper end of the budget-hotel range.
Our stay at the Hilton Short Hills was excellent. Friendly staff, very clean. Enjoyable stay.
Solid hotel for business trips. Workout facility, ample parking, walking distance to Short Hills Mall.
We are not used to staying at a higher end hotel. So these things may be normal for that. First, no outside food was allowed. So we could not bring in breakfast for our young daughter and had to order through room service. Also, we were required to use a bellhop if we wanted to use a suitcase hanger to bring our suits to the room. Our third issue was that the parking was a little confusing. The toilet paper was not gentle and there was some tarnish on the pipes under the sink. The room was nice, though, and the lobby was nice with free cookies and hot chocolate at checkin. The underground parking ended up being nice since we were there during an overnight snowstorm. The bellhop we had for checkout was very helpful and friendly.
A very luxurious hotel with all or the amenities you would want.
Rooms are large and spacious. Hallways are a bit out dated
Room is clean and modern. We requested early check in but didn't get it, however other people did get early check in if they paid $25. Then we didn't even get checked in on time. I asked if because of that could I get a late check out and was told only if I pay $25 an hour on a Sunday, as if they were going to be booked up. The bar is actually quite nice and the food was excellent but the service was a joke. We waited over an hour for salad and hummus. The bartender seemed annoyed to take our order when the place was empty except for three customers. Clearly they don't want to spend on enough staffing or don't train anyone. What do they care, they already have all your money. Obviously that is all they care about.
Clean hotel with immediate access to the mall and highway
Shame on them! The beds weren't clean and a pair of dirty socks was on the floor from previous guests. Never again here
I generally love your brunch - have only been to the Mother's Day Brunch which is to die for. However, due to my kids sports activities I have been unable to attend. The Easter Brunch was not as good as the Mother's Day Brunch and it was so disappointing especially for the price tag.
Very nice for wedding reception or business meetings
Clean room , good customer service but expensive ,I stayed one night with my family, they enjoyed the stay. but the room decor needs some update .
Beautiful hotel near a beautiful mall with lots of amenities
Got money and don't want to be in Newark or related areas go here
Great staff, nice bar but they were understaffed. Rooms were very clean
Very clean, good service, friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more!
Good hotel in the middle of nowhere. Unless you're in the business trip I see no reason to book. On the map it looks like nice place, however, you need a car to go anywhere outside of parking. Reservoir and creek nearby are fenced, access roads have no pedestrian walkways. It means all your entertainment is inside of hotel or small shopping mall across the street. I'm bit disappointed to give review like that because I have absolutely no issue re hotel. It's clean, modern and more comfortable that many other I stayed. Location is a factor that kills whole idea.
Very good hotel, clean and tight with good location.
This hotel was probably the cleanest and well organized hotel's I've been to in a long time the staff is very professional and understanding. I would defiantly return in the near future.
Good sized rooms, clean and comfortable, good food in the bar, nice people, 15 mins from Newark Airport. Local.shopping mall and eateries
Good place. They have an avis. This should maybe be more clearing indicated on arrival.
Nice Hilton property, convenient location and attentive staff. I have recommended this location to my coworkers when they stay in the area.
Clean nicely appointed rooms convenient to many locations
Nice hotel. Right across the street from a high class mall. Staff is hospitable. A little difficult for ride-sharing cars to get to.
Teaser rate online was not accepted at check in. Had to play almost twice the amount for one night stay. Room and inside the hotel was clean and appealing, however Not sure if I would ever return.
Customer service was awful. The front desk weren t at all warm or willing to help with a receipt situation which they could clearly tell I was distressed by. Coming from the customer service industry, I feel like it is always so important to make things right and make sure both parties are at an agreement. Left such a bad taste in my mouth and never welcomed with a smile.
I got 3 rooms over the weekend and My family and I Felt discriminated Against and uncomfortable. Was not satisfied and expectation was high of Hilton but I was very disappointed. Was told we could not eat the complimentary breakfast. That ours kids could not swim from 9:30am to 6:30pm and the pool closes at 9pm. When selecting the reservation these things were apart of my filter. Tried to make a complaint manager not available when I did speak one customer service was horrible. I will never stay at this hotel again to top it off they charge $100 incidental fees per room per night..no microwave... all around bad
I went to the Dinner Restaurant for brunch and it was fantastic. The selection of food was beautifully laid out and the choices were varied and delicious. The people who were making the omelettes were extremely nice and helpful with deciding between the different ingredients.
Stay away from this Hotel, they are scammers! They illegally charged me $500 almost 2 weeks after checking out. The Hotel is completely unresponsive. They left my room open on purpose, $1800 in money orders was missing. Management don't care about guests. Rude staff, outdated room, shame on them! I am taking legal actions against this Hotel
This hotel was really nice. We stayed on the Executive Floor (7th) which is key access only, thanks to my Mom's Hilton rewards points. Staying on the fancy floor gave us free brunch on Sunday, which at $20 / person actually wouldn't have been bad considering how good it was. Overall the hotel was good, but not exceptional. Some of the people at the front desk weren't as helpful as I would have liked. One nice thing was that we could WALK to the Short Hills Mall across the street.
Staff was quite helpful. The food was great and the bathrooms were clean.
Room is decent. Food is great in the restaurant or in room dining
The hotel is gorgeous! All the employees are extremely helpful and nice! The food is amazing! One of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough!
Was here for a professional event. All the staff was friendly and professional.
Love this hotel. Beautiful rooms, good food and great service
Liked the pool...rooms were eh kinda smelled like someone smoked in it but the pool was great.
