Update:So everything was great until Tuesday July 16 2019. So that day was planned to be a productive fun vacation day. However, I was in the Rainbow Tower and it lost power for nearly 7 hours I was on the 24th floor stuck. Even with multiple communications downstairs. It was not until another guess told me 6 hours in that the service elevator was working, Not Management. Five stars to three stars.

Over priced, and over populated and with subpar variety on the room service menu. The most affordable meal I could find on campus was $28 for ribs that were easily outdone by $16 Outback steakhouse. There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000 rooms on campus putting around 9000 guests which makes check in a nightmare - Hilton definitely needs to implement mobile checkin at this property! (see pic of checkin and the sea of people). The staff did a great job considering, but. We had a corner room on the 16th floor in the rainbow tower (diamond head ocean view) that I spent 280,000 points and $60 on. It was beautiful BUT the room and dating of the interior was indicative of a Doubletree that was last remodeled in the late 90s to early 2000s. I expected much more for the amount I spent. Also I love to sleep with the door open so I can hear the waves, it here people were out in the surf 24-7 yelling and playing. I was also disappointed that as a Hhonors gold member that I didn't get an upgrade at the rainbow tower since we were celebrating our 15th anniversary and my wife's birthday. We had a decent time but I will not be staying here again.

This resort is very expensive. At least $250 per person per day if you want to have a blast. The resort from paradise can turn into the resort from hell as it rains in June daily. Customer service is slow. Hotel is stuck in Magnum PI time circa 1970. THE ROOMS ARE SUPER OUTDATED. You pay for the VIEWS. The phone looks like it belongs in a museum. Even aliens who would invade the hotel would say, "stop being cheap and get with the program." The pools are many. Birds and fishes everywhere. Foliage galore. The beach is to die for, but not that vast. Food is cheaper outside of hotel. Don't bother eating at the food court in hotel. The deli is rude in their $29 burger. The pizza looks old at $20 average. Nothing below $20 and if you do get it, the food should cost $5. I give it 4 stars for its beauty, but they jacked up the prices for the rich chinese and Japanese who are all over the place spending money like there is no tomorrow. I came for the beauty and was attending a conference so I will be taken care of at the conference.

Came here for Friday night fireworks! Be sure to check the website for time of show on Fridays. It changed based on the month.
They only last about 5 minutes, but what do you expect if they have it every week!
A lot of parking, but go early. We heard from locals they do not check meters during fireworks, but only risk it if you want.

It's a great place to stay with family in Waikiki. There are so many restaurants inside. There are plenty of pools. Louis Vuitton and small duty free shops. The fireworks display on Friday evening is very spectacular. There is no place to blow the tube, so you have to buy it at abc mart.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I came here (to Hawaii) for vacation and have absolutely no regrets about this hotel. The hotel is split into multiple towers, which together form a village with a marketplace, restaurants, and shops. The village is within walking distance of the beach (3-5 minutes), which is very convenient if you're the type who likes to take morning walks along the water (highly recommended) or just want to enjoy a view of the ocean from your balcony. You're also 10-15 minutes away from two large shopping center (Ala Moana Center and Royal Hawaiian Center) in case you need to buy a cheap pair of flip flops for the beach. Last but not least, the village itself is simply gorgeous. My Hawaii trip would be so much less had I not stayed at the Hilton at Waikiki Beach.

The hotel was amazing, only docking a star because the staff could use some retraining on customer service. I had an issue with my TV and maintenance never came, I just ended up unplugging it. I asked a staff member where I can have money wired or if that's a service they might provide and he made me prove I was a guest before offering any help, once it was confirmed I was a guest he went to the back and asked and directed me to a location in one of the towers that had stopped wiring money well over a year ago according to the staff in that location. Had a few other questions during my stay and staff made it seem like I was bothering them to ask, but being my first time in Hawaii you would think they'd try to gain a loyal customer. Also my Hilton honors was not added to my stay. But like I said, the hotel itself is awesome and I would probably stay here again just due to the location and the rooms.

We love this hotel!! We can see the beach from our room. The whole city lights up at night. There are so many things to do at all hours of the day and night here. You can play and have fun with the kids in the daytime....and go out and have an adventuresome night on any given hour!!

This place is crazy busy. I don t know if it was the price or if lots of rooms are sold through packages but it is busy, busy. Interestingly, I went to another Hilton down the street and there was almost nobody there. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Service was also very good.

Very nice beach resort. Maybe a bit crowded. Nice beach in front of it with great sunsets. Friday evening there is a nice show outside which you can also partially enjoy if you have no tickets and a 5 minute great fireworks over the beach at the end around 7:45pm.

We came here just to watch the fireworks on Friday night. The place it's self is stunning, with lots of little ponds filled with koi and lights decorating the trees. The fireworks are amazing. Starting at 19:45pm they last around 5 minutes but are quite a sight to see. Best place to see them is from around the lagoon or on Waikiki beach.

Even if you're not staying here most of the hotels - this one included - allow you to walk through their grounds. They are well done, thoughtfully put together and offer some shade during times where the sun is beating down on you.
Overall - a must see if you're walking in the area.

Love to come here.... always great been here more than 10 times but this times the pool areas were full of towels draped over vacant chairs.. saved.....saw many families not able to find even 1 chair vacant for family. Watched as chairs remained vacant but saved for hours. Need to addresses the issue of people saving chairs but not at the pool for hours.

This place is an overpriced overcrowded decaying dump. It is just horrible. We were in the ali'i Tower. Beds were rock hard, mould on the walls, generally dirty rooms, pillows are about 10 years old with no stuffing, the main pool was closed no idea why. Couldn't get into the restaurants even with priority. Concierge didn't answer the phone. The whole place is a giant money grab for dumb tourists. We stayed there based on another couples desire to visit. They hated it as well. Whatever you do don't stay here. It is a rip off and you will leave very disappointed. We left early for the airport as that was preferable to this place. About 1000$ us for 2 nights of misery and back pain. There are plenty of fabulous hotels in Honolulu pick one of them. Never stay here. We will be asking for money back.

I came here no too long ago for a holiday, and visiting this place was magnificent! There's so much to shop for and so much to eat! It's a must-go destination for other tourists, (like myself when I was visiting), to go and check it out. There's really nothing to be upset about and there's so much entertainment to endeavour! Really enjoyed it there.

I stayed at Tapa Tower.
Facilities are old, but it was 30th floor Ocean Buse standard twin, but location from room was large was the best.
There are also 3 pools and a pool with a slider for children to enjoy. Towels are distributed as towel tickets, and you don't have to take them out of the room.
The sea also had a feeling of private beach in front of my eyes.
As the site has an area for 3 Tokyo Domes, you can enjoy it in the hotel.

Rainbow Tower is close to the lagoon and the sea is right next to the water. The breakfast room is on the first floor of the building. Breakfast is pretty good and it is good to eat. There are several restaurants in the Hilton Hawaiian area and there is also an abc mart cookie house so you can do all sorts of things. It seems to be a good family accommodation with good amenities. Cleaning is not good.

We just got back and had a wonderful time. Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. The resort itself was beautiful and so much to do. Great shops and so close to the beach. Bell service was fast and courteous. Being Hilton Honors members did have perks as we were in a shorter check-in line and had the use of a hospitality room on our last day. Check out time was 11am but our flight didn't leave until 8p. We went to Diamondhead and were in need of showers before our flight so the hospitality room was a lifesaver. The prices at the resort restaurants were outrageous but there were tons of other restaurants within walking distance. The tour desk was amazing and so very friendly. We booked a trip to the big Island and Volcanos national park so easily and relatively inexpensively. Our biggest issue was that their check-in process was slow and laborious. They need to work on a better process. We had booked a king bed resort view room and paid for the entire stay before hand. We stayed 6 nights. The day we checked in they did not have a king room so they put a rush on the cleaning and told us they would text us when the room was ready and since it was 4p already an hour past check-in time and we would have to wait longer for our room they gave us resort credit, which was very nice. We waited until 6:30p and never got a text so we went to the desk and found out that they had given our room to someone else, so we ended up the first night in a room with 2 double beds not even queen beds. The next day it took until 12 noon to get switched over to a king room. After that the rest of the stay was so delightful and relaxing. They definitely need to improve the check-in process but we otherwise loved the resort and the vacation.

Worst hotel ever. Never stay here! Stay away from this property. We had the worst two nights ever.
As an avid traveler, this was not my first time staying at a Hilton hotel. I am ashamed to say I m a Hilton Honors. The service at this property is so bad. Beyond words. Upon checking in, we got a room downgraded than what we booked, and the room smells like cigarette smokes- awful! When we asked them for another room, we were given the room we booked for on our second night. The other room that my parents stayed at, had a noise that was said to come from the water pipe- they cannot do anything about it, and we had to fight our way for them to move us to another room- at another tower, that was also a downgrade from what we booked for. All they offered us was $100 refund! What we spent was almost $2000 and they offered us just $100?! JOKES UPON THIS PROPERTY! After all of this drama-
CHECKING OUT
We wanted to leave our baggage at the bell desk because we were going to have lunch nearby before moving to another hotel. However, THEY DID NOT LET US DO THIS! Reason being, there is no more space when they were still accepting bags from incoming people? When they took my parents baggage that just came down 5 minutes before us?? Really??! NO SPACE???? They took me as a dummy or what?! Discrimination because I m asian? They took those bags from the white couple after me saying they were incoming guests. So you do not service departing guest the same way you service incoming guest? Discrimination! I don t understand this property at all. Was not a pleasant stay at all. WORST HOTEL EVER IN MY TRAVEL HISTORY. I do not usually write reviews, but this hotel is so so bad I NEED THE WORLD TO KNOW ABOUT THIS!! This property is not worth your money at all.
We are moving to another property as I am writing this and I could not be more glad about this move.
Guests all paid the same fee to stay at the resort, we should not be treated differently. Incoming and outcoming guests are the same, we are still your guests. So taken aback by this crazy experience.

We took a room in the Rainbow Tower - and loved it. Spectacular views over the beach and the lagoon. Even better view of the fireworks display. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious.
