Mike Erikson Review of Hilton Hawaiian Village

Over priced, and over populated and with subpar variety on the room service menu. The most affordable meal I could find on campus was $28 for ribs that were easily outdone by $16 Outback steakhouse. There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 4000 rooms on campus putting around 9000 guests which makes check in a nightmare - Hilton definitely needs to implement mobile checkin at this property! (see pic of checkin and the sea of people). The staff did a great job considering, but. We had a corner room on the 16th floor in the rainbow tower (diamond head ocean view) that I spent 280,000 points and $60 on. It was beautiful BUT the room and dating of the interior was indicative of a Doubletree that was last remodeled in the late 90s to early 2000s. I expected much more for the amount I spent. Also I love to sleep with the door open so I can hear the waves, it here people were out in the surf 24-7 yelling and playing. I was also disappointed that as a Hhonors gold member that I didn't get an upgrade at the rainbow tower since we were celebrating our 15th anniversary and my wife's birthday. We had a decent time but I will not be staying here again.
