Great location, and modernized grand old hotel. I used Hilton's key pass, and went straight to my room as I entered the hotel. The hotel is old, very old, but they have done a decent job of holding onto memories while keeping the hotel modern.

Lots of space for meetings and lots of rooms. No free rooms. Nice bathrooms. Soooooo many urinals. Urinal after urinal after urinal. No Starbucks in the hotel. Good location for hotel on Michigan Avenue.

Location is nice, walking distance from Millennium park. Parking location Grant St. South is right in front (height restriction of 6 feet), my 15-seater did not fit in. Hotel is beautifully built but the standard room is too small.

Attended a work conference at the Hilton and the building itself was gorgeous. The conference rooms were exceptionally clean and big. The hotel was also conveniently located downtown with multiple train routes throughout the city.

A+

This place is really nice. I m on business so I don t take into consideration the extraordinary cost of parking or valet at this hotel. I thought the rooms, level of service at the front desk, cleaning folks, and throughout the hotel was excellent. I have to knock a star off for the crazy prices on the room rates, parking, and other services throughout the hotel.

The hotel is nice and the location was perfect. The little food/drink place in the lobby is pure robbery. I paid $19 for 2 bottles of water and a small bag of chips. The only negatives for me would be the blue light from the smoke detector that leaves a nice blue light ring on your bed while trying to sleep. The other negative for me and I guess it is a problem I should expect staying in the city is the constant horn honking and sirens...they never stop. Other than that, my experience was great.

The Hilton's should be ashamed to call this a hotel. The Grand Ballroom was beautiful and the front walkway was glorious. In fact I would have rather slept in those two rooms than my hotel room. The Executive Suites are garbage. The in room computer doesn't work, the direct TV is fuzzy, the wireless only works in the lobby, and the only way to order room service is from the computer which doesn't work. I've stayed at many hotels in Chicago and even the La Quinta Inn has better amenities than this dumpster fire of a hotel. This will be my first and last time staying here. Next time I have a conference at the Hilton i am staying at the Congress Hotel!!

I booked two rooms a couple weeks ago bc my friends and I were going on vacay! I ONLY stay with Hilton brand and I found another location for a much cheaper price and I asked them if they could cancel my reservation. I m in LA so we re 3 hours behind them and since it was past the time for cancelation I called to talk to someone and the front desk agent was extremely rude and the manager was also rude, she kept cutting me off and didn t care about my concerns or anything. I will never stay there or recommend this specific location. I don t even want to stay there.

Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Over two hours between arriving and actually getting into my room. Once completing the nightmare of parking, I stood in a line for 25 minutes, then was told my name wasn't on the reservation (the reservation...that I booked...myself). After 15 minutes on hold with customer service, they informed me they could do nothing and that I needed to call Expedia, through whom I had booked the room at a discount rate. Downright horrendous experience, start to finish.

Location was within a half a mile from the attraction we were in Chicago to see. The room was nice, for your people and had double bathroom. Making it easy for all four people to get ready at the same time. Hilton staff was accommodating and got us into our room early and allowed for a late check out.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Chicago for a conference for work. I was really looking forward to this hotel but was left feeling somewhat let down. The rooms were fairly small and upon entry to the room I tried all the light switches within reach - finally had to plug in a lamp across the room to get some light. The room, including bathroom was dated and the hallways seemed very dark. The food at the conference was the worst I've ever had at a conference. Breakfast was the same watery scramble eggs every morning except one morning where said eggs were put in a wrap and placed next to a giant bowl of ketchup. The staff wasn't overly friendly and there is a serious lack of lounge space. For 2 days there were a bunch of kids staying for some type of sports event and they just camped out all over the lobby floor and stairs. Wouldn't stay there again

This hotel is top billing. It's in a very convenient location right on Michigan Avenue. Close to everything you could imagine. Service is fantastic. They have plenty of different types of food in there. A bar is also available. During the holidays they deck it out real good for Christmas. They have a doorman there that will summon a cab for you. They also have all the other accoutrements that you could imagine. Nice rooms. Clean. And very convenient and excellent service.

I have been to the Hilton for New Years Eve and for a race expo. Both times Staff was very friendly and the events were very well run and organized. I have not stayed in a room, but the large convention and event spaces are all quite nice.

A colleague and I stayed here for business, and it was a surprisingly terrible experience. Because the reservations were made by our boss (and in his name), the front desk staff got an unbelievably holier-than-thou attitude and repeatedly told us that, despite the printed email confirmation I handed them, for "security purposes," they could not check us in. We were told to call our boss (who was unreachable because it was 7 p.m. on a weeknight) and let the front desk talk to him, but they never would have known if we called someone other than the reservation holder and told them to pretend to be him. Finally, we asked for a manger (also exceptionally rude), who "allowed it this ONE time," when I showed him the same email that I had printed, only on my laptop.

Even if not for that whole debacle, the rooms were large but not functional or laid out well at all (mine had two twin beds and two whole bathrooms) and not exactly well-maintained, the cleaning service was sub-par (they left dirty towels and glasses in the bathroom and it was clear they barely tidied up everywhere else except the beds), the internet was an extra $13/night on top of the room charge, and the L rattled my windows every 10 minutes throughout the night. Not to mention, there was a voicemail "welcome" greeting that caused both phones to incessantly flash a red light until it was checked, and their in-room computer was stuck on some blue-screen-of-death-like screen and had to be unplugged if I wanted the monitor to shut off. I expect an experience like that from a seedy motel, not the Hilton. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Good hotel, but terrible and inexperienced service. The room is constantly hearing a very loud sound from the large outdoor air conditioning units. He could not sleep at all. From the reception they did nothing to move me. I'll post a clip with this lousy noise, probably on facebook.

Spectacular view of Lake Michigan, helpful front desk staff (Bailey!), close to public transportation, events and attractions, comfortable room, small refrigerator for personal food and beverages.

Only good thing was the location. Paid for a room with a king bed only to get there and be told none were available until the next night because they are first come first serve which was not listed on the site. Stayed in double bed room first night. Decor is outdated and when I turned on shower in one bathroom the water was a brownish yellow at first. Was told we could get a king bed on the executive floor. They make it sound better because you have to use a separate elevator but there was nothing better about this room except for a bigger bed. Tv also went in and out on some channels. Not what I expected from a Hilton hotel.
