Wow!!! I have dreamed of going here for over 37 years. I am 55 lol. My husband would tell me stories as he was raised in Maryland and I in Washington State. It was a world away. Finally, we had the opportunity to be in the area for about 4 months for his work. He took me the weekend they started the Halloween celebrations. It only runs for 3 weeks a year. We did everything! Made our own candy bar, went through the Chocolate Academy, watched the film, rode the tour and took the Tram. It was wonderful. No kids, just him and me. I had a blast. The gift shop online has nothing compared to in store. I spent way too much on souvenirs but so glad I did. Presents for everyone! Only thing I didn t find and wish they would sell is scrapbook stickers. My favorite thing to do is scrapbook souvenirs. All in all, it has been a highlight of my life. We grew up reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and my husband reading it to our 4 now grown kids.
Added bonus, we supplied almost 700 full sized Hershey candy bars to our daughter and son-in-law to pass out for Halloween back in Washington State. They passed out over 1000 this year. We started something last year and it exploded this year because of word of mouth. Her husband was the scary candy man with the apron we sent them from Hershey make your own bar. The kids were thrilled. Said it was the best house and he was the best candy man. Hershey, you rock and your candies are always a hit!!

Chocolate world is educational and fun for the kids. I recommend going in the winter when the lines are much shorter. We did not pay to make our own chocolate bar since it was $21 per person and the candy store had many choices for a much cheaper price.

The store is a really cool place to bring your children, the milkshakes are a bit overpriced, but memories last forever so I bought one. The tour was very cool and gave a lot of insight into how chocolate is made. Got some okay deals on chocolate too. Would definitely recommend giving it a visit.

It is one big building with multiple different sections such as a food court souvenir section and the whole candy section. Lots of different candies didn't know Hershey owned this much.

Spent an hour and a half doing the small tour on a motorized cart ride. Not the actual factory but a simulated experience. Seemed more gears for kids with the animated videos throughout the ride. Restrooms, food options and a lot of products in and around the building for purchase. A perfect place to visit if you are a fan of Hershey products. Staffing was plentiful and friendly to visitors and shoppers.

This place has changed a lot over the years and seems more of a cash grab then it was 10+ years ago. I feel it's all about making money now going here which is a shame I loved coming here when I was a kid. Everything is way overpriced and expensive and the tour ride isn't what it used to be. It's all holograms now, I remember when it actually showed how things worked without the use of holograms, I prefer it the way they used to have it. I'm surprised they still give you a free piece of chocolate when you get off, I'm sure they will stop that soon.

Overpriced and overhyped tourist trap.

Overpriced and overhyped tourist trap.

Regarding the actual experience:
It is free to get into the building and the "tour" is free. But there is an hour long line (when out on the sales floor) in order to ride a ~10 minute very kiddie ride that supposedly shows you how the chocolate is made. Very little actual information was conveyed and the machines were obviously fake to a depressing degree. It would have been more interesting to watch a video tour of the actual factory. They take a blurry side photo of the car at the end of the tour and try to sell it to you for Amusement Park ride photo prices. The only redeeming factor was the snack size Hershey bar they handed out free after the ride.

The only other free thing to do is shop...wait that isn't free. The merchandise and candy is quite overpriced for the most part unless you buy a 72 pack of candy bars (then they are $0.50 each). A five pack of small pins representing five different candy bars was $24.95. The shakes are $8 and 16oz size...maybe. And the flavor wasn't anything amazing. We didn't do any of the paid features because of how much they cost but seeing what they were they would not have been worth the cost. The actual factory is a couple miles away and they no longer do tours. There is a museum nearby but after the disappointingly long visit at Chocolate World we didn't have time to go to it.

Regarding Coronavirus Regulations:
They claim all these Covid regulations and safety measures but they do not actually enforce distancing or masks to any real degree. My brother is a Covidiot and wore his mask under his nose the whole time. He was asked to wear it properly *once*. They say they require timed passes to enter but there is a line outside and they just let anyone in regardless of timed pass possession. When my dad held up his "pass" in which the time had passed hours before the guy was confused why my dad was even showing his phone screen. The building was packed making social distancing impossible. They only enforced it to any degree regarding lines and even then they didn't really enforce it at all. If you say you are only allowing small numbers in and that timed passes are required then enforce that ffs.

Very disappointing overall.

Exactly what you d expect from the sweetest place on earth. Although we didn t make it to the Park due to half the rides being shut down for the weather, the Hershey world experience was still worth the time and effort. The free tour was better than expected. The chocolate tasting felt a bit rushed but was still very enjoyable. The 4D mystery movie is obviously designed more for the kids than adults. The only thing I d say we regret not getting around to was the Build Your Own chocolate bar. I ve heard it s one of the more memorable activities so definitely include that. I say buy the Adventure 1 package and add on a trolley ride and your in for a fun day!

Free - all free if you plan. Parking is free for first 3 hours. They have a 10 minute ride that goes through the chocolate making process for FREE. Huge gift shop with tons of candy and gifts. We got conmplimentary taste testing tickets as we entered, complimentary because it is hosted by someone in training but still very knowledgeable, fun and was FREE!! Definitely coming back! There's more to see and do in the area.

There is so much to do here. I don't think anyone could do everything in one day. The rides and rollercoasters never seem to end. The biggest issue are the rollercoasters. I think out of 8 rollercoasters, only one doesn't hurt. The rest of the rides hurt, a lot. It's also straight in the sun with no shade. There's also a Waterpark which seems fun. The tour of the chocolate factor is disappointing because it isn't really. The Hershey store is over priced and does not have fresh milkshakes or anything aside from packaged candy.

Great place! Lots to learn about the process in which your favorite candy bar is produced. It's a bit costly here, but as with other similar tourist attractions, it's definitely by design! Still lots of fun! Excellent food court as well.

Bright, colorful, a little overwhelming w/ all the tourists... Large free parking area, can accomodate RVs (friends did pay $5 to park 2 weeks earlier...may have still been high season??). Door drop off lane if you need it. Great verbal welcome w/ all info proffered. Great clean restrooms. Free to do factory tour & sample, free to wander...but all exhibits costs...a lot. Discounted combo activity passes can be purchased online, but still quite spendy. The tour was quick informative fun in a silly little car. If you missed the museum then there is a little bit of the history as you walk in. You receive a mini sample bar after tour & then you can grab food or treats/coffee. Worth a stop if you aren't paying for parking, otherwise too commercial. You can take a historical town trolley tour from here (approx $15/pp).

Must have been here two dozen times, mostly due to guests' requests. Today happened to be the grand reopening day of the new Hershey Chocolate Tour and so we were curious and stopped by.

It was the worst crowd ever for us. I think it was due to a combination of the grand reopening and the fact that there was a preceding shower which drew a lot of people indoors and cramped into the building.

I was very disappointed by the "new" tour because aside from adding a few video background and a few new chocolate characters upon existing setups, the ride and the physical setups were pretty much the same as before. Oh, and the tour's theme song got changed.

The food court prices are expensive, lines are long. Even the merchandise checkout lines are unbearably long. Oh, and it took us 10 minutes to get a parking spot. Overall a very frazzling experience. Didn't give a 2 because past experience had been better.

Busy when it rains! We stopped in on a long road trip, not planning to see other sights in the area. After fighting our way through the parking lot, we managed to use the rest room and that was all. The amusement park was empty thanks to rain, and everyone was here instead. The line for the tour was out the door, and the attractions were sold out for several hours. Even the shop was more trouble than it was worth. We beat a hasty retreat and chalked it up to experience...never again in the rain!

If you ever wanted chocolate... Hershey,Reeses, and Jolly Rancher all under one roof. Rides and tours and even a food court to enjoy. A good time and lots of kids and noise. If you want there is even an amusement park next door. Oh yeah it was pretty sweet.

I would recommend the complete tour package (I know this one includes free parking). Expect to be here for about 6 hours if you doing the complete tour.

They have the largest gift shop that I know of at Hershey. The How Chocolate is Made your is free and the entrance is in the gift shop.

The historical trolley/bus your was great for the kids and adults. They will at least have you grinning and chuckling with their hokey jokes during the tour!

An amazing place! The chocolate tour is a very fun family oriented ride. The ambiance is great too, with a large garden in the middle and a food court. The lines can get quite long for the shop, but they often have many cashiers and it moves along quick.

Love the magical feeling you get when you walk in this place! They just need Willy Wonka music blaring when coming through the door and it will be perfect!!! Love all the unique Hershey products you can get that aren't found anywhere else.
