The Hershey Lodge is a beautiful place to stay for a night or a week. We stayed for the weekend in November 2017 for a concert venue . The room was beautiful and the staff was great and efficient with the check in. The lobby was decorated for the holidays and was absolutely beautiful. I will stay again and highly recommend this place.

We had a horrible experience at the Hershey lodge ...

We had a horrible experience at the Hershey lodge which I wish to share to potentially save someone else from a similar experience. Last year we had stayed at the Hershey Hotel, had a great time, and decided to give The Hershey Lodge a try, as we heard it was more "kid-friendly" and we have two small children.

When we got there, check-in was seamless and, despite a lack of parking near our room's closest exterior entrance, we were initially quite pleased with the accommodations. It was not until the second day of our stay that we experienced issues. After spending time at their kid-friendly pool we were all going to take a nap in our room. My son had wanted a piece of chocolate from the complimentary Hershey bar they give upon check-in. I broke off a piece and left the rest on the counter above the mini fridge. We all took a nap, but it wasn't long until I woke to a yell from my wife. There were dozens of ants all over the counter top, swarming the candy bar. I moved all our possessions, killed as many as I could, and immediately phoned the front desk.

The woman on the end of the line was initially apologetic and said they would immediately send housekeeping in to deal with the issue. When I asked about another room she was unable to offer anything anywhere near our first and when I inquired about how they were able to address the huge inconvenience this was causing, she said she couldn't help me and I would need to talk to housekeeping since it was a housekeeping problem, which seemed like pretty poor front desk customer service.

Housekeeping came in, cleaned the ants as best they could, wiped surfaces, vacuumed, and to my surprise started spraying Raid all along the edge of the wall/floor. It was at that point my wife took my children out of the room for a walk and I told them I wasn't pleased about them spraying pesticides in the room where my young children were staying.

It was at that point that a housekeeping manager came in saying, "I heard you found like 5 ants." I told him he was mistaken - I found dozens, probably near a hundred all over the place, and the housekeeping nodded, confirming my claim. When I asked them how they were going to make this right, he told me he could offer me $75 off my stay. I told him he would have to do better than that for a $400/night room - He made a phone call and came back to tell me the best he could do would be $100. Honestly, at that point I was sick over the whole situation and just wanted to be done with it and get on with my vacation.

The final insult came at checkout - After the incident, before check out (which happens at 11am) my family and I went to the pool again for a last swim. When we came back (10am) our door was open, and the room was being prepared for the next guest. Housekeeping looked surprised/horrified to see me. "I did not check out yet and there's another hour until check out time," I told them. Luckily, I had already packed almost all our luggage in the car. They had thrown out some of my possessions still in the room (sippy cups for the kids/some leftovers in the fridge/unopened bottles of water and juice). They apologized, but by that point I just wanted to get out of there, so I did not make a big deal.

I think it's fair to say they handled the situation of a major pest infestation in one of their rooms extremely poorly. Having also worked in customer service I would never think to advise a customer who came to me with a major satisfaction issue to go talk to someone else. The right thing to do would have been for them to give me an upgrade or at the very least comp my current room for the night.

The kid-friendliness in my opinion is overrated here - Kids will have a much better time in a hotel that knows how to treat its guests. Based on this experience, next year we are most definitely not going back to the Lodge and instead opting for the Hershey Hotel or alternative accommodations.

BED BUGS!!! Worst Hotel I Have Ever Stayed In!!!!! Your Phone wont work unless you pay Extra $10 a night. They have electrical problems. The rooms have bad ventilation and smell like sewage in the bathrooms. The Fridge did not get cold and our food went bad. Everything was closed by 7pm
AND BED BUGS I SAW THEM. AMD THE STAFF DOES NOT CARE!!!

A very warm, timeless and cozy place. It's not very contemporary or modern but I think that's by design. Hershey lodge is a great place to huddle up while exploring the park and other minor attractions around town. The lobby and the lobby bar are very inviting. The rooms are very functional, modern and spacious. The Waterworks set right on the property isn't all bells and whistles but it's more than adequate. My 2+ something toddler was all about the Waterworks. We had checked out a couple of restaurants in the lodge. Cocoa beanery didn't impress us but Hershey Grill totally did. The menu was very interesting and the actual food absolutely delivered. And the price point (for this level of sophistication and taste) was extremely affordable. We would have spent three times in New York for the same experience.

The lodge also has complimentary shuttles to the park, gardens etc.

Overall, the stay is probably a tad overpriced but it might be worth it

The lodge has a really old school "boys club" feel lobby. The rooms are nice. The indoor water pill and park are a lot of fun. My family and I had a nice time there. It is central to all of the Hershey attractions and I would not hesitate to recommend a stay.

We just stayed at the Lodge over the 2019 Christmas break. It s ok. I would only recommend staying there if it s just for 1 to 2 nights and have kids. Our room wasn t very clean as there were random hairs in our bathroom when we arrived. One of the perks for staying at the lodge is the free entry to the indoor pool. I do have to agree with the other reviewer that there s limited seating in the pool area. We stayed here 2x in the last 7 yrs and don t plan on staying here again as our experience was the same; it s just ok. Rooms would use an upgrade especially the bathrooms!

Top notch customer service, just as expected from all Hershey entertainment resorts. The indoor pool area is amazing, great for kids, especially in winter time. Worth going here for the water park alone. Great coffee and food choices as well.

Wildly overpriced. It's a glorified MOTEL...NOT a lodge.

Parking is no where near the OUTSIDE-DOOR, room access... and direct-WALL AC units (motel).

Big wet spot on the fungus-odor room which they could neither correct or determine the cause. Over 500 a night. We have stayed at lodges across the country. This is no lodge.

Huge need for massive renovation at this "lodge"

Really a huge disappointment.

Stay somewhere else until they correct the situation.

The sweetest place on earth...? Absolutely! I attended a 2-day seminar and this location was the right place to hold this event. The entire lodge was clean, organized and all of the employees were friendly and helpful!

We had lots of fun staying at Hershey lodge. Everything has little Hershey kisses and their other candies like the sheets, wallpaper, and even art hanging on the walls. Restaurants included chocolate featured items. And visits from different candy characters throughout the day for the kiddies to take pictures with. Free chocolate bars for everybody at check-in and all the workers were very nice, besides housekeeping.

The room service was not great. The first day we came back to our rooms the beds were made but we weren't given the same amount of fresh towels. They left 2 on the bench outside of the bathroom. The next day we left our room at around 9am and didn't come back until 3:30 in the afternoon and our room wasntw serviced but we could see house keeping with their carts in front of open rooms talking to each other and seemed pretty unprofessional. I could see if they were talking while working, but they were actually just standing talking and it was already late in the day, I was surprised to come back to a messy room.

Nice hotel. Staff is lazy and not on top of their game. Stayed I presidential suite which was no more that a standard hotel room with a living area. Furniture was beat up and not up to pat with what would be expected of a "presidential " suite.

Hershey Lodge, what a place!! When we walked in my son screamed and jumped for joy when we were greeted by Twizzler and Jolly Rancher! His favorite. Great staff and service all around. Would recommend

Do not waste your time, money or waste your valuable family Christmas time here. We have driven 4 hours and waited 2.5 hours for our room and it is still not ready. The woman at the front desk threatened to call security on me (in front of my children) after I simply inquired about our room after she blamed housekeeping and marketing on why our rooms were not ready. STILL WAITING ON OUR SECOND ROOM. Thank you for ruing our Christmas Family time and our dad's only time off from work.

Sad part is we have come here for years.

NEVER AGAIN.

UPDATE- got our second room over 30 minutes ago, thanks to housekeeping! Who was wonderful! Front desk never to this point has sent us text

The lodge has many amenities which makes for a well rounded family vacation. The indoor water park is great for little kids. It had an arcade and board game room. The main setback was slow food service in the area and limited seating space during the high season. There is an awesome water slide which made a difference!!

Stayed here for a conference, really neat setting, rooms are decent place is pretty clean, staff is very very friendly. Little wacky want to comes to the layout as far as parking goes but it s a really nice spot. Very big for conventions, easy layout.

Great room, great service, great food. The only criticism I have is on weekends the pool/waterpark gets too full and u cant find a seat ot table to eat at and the water is a bit cold. Waterpark is best for little kids not teens.

It's the most wonderful place in the worldb to experience Christmas. A wonderful atmosphere, a lot to do in the area, and some really great dining options! Didn't have a microwave in our room but honestly this place is so great it didn't matter.

Attended a charity dinner at the Hershey Lodge. The room was large and comfortable. The right temperature all evening. We experienced zero tech problems with the microphone and sound system. The food was excellent. The servers were attentive and there were no long waits between courses. My only negative is that they are due for some renovations. New carpets and wallpaper. The current decor is looking dated. Time for something more nodern.

Hotel was clean and staff was very pleasant but you could kids talking and running in the next room most of the night and the wifi doesn't work. Lovely but not worth the $359.00 per night.

Found a bed bug and the water was scolding hot in the room. The hotel staff tried to be accommodating and everyone spoke when they passed you. Very nice gym!!! Pool area was decent. Suggest not running across the lily pads. Saw many who almost knocked their teeth out.

I've been coming to Hershey nearly all my life, and nearly every visit have stayed in the Lodge (stayed in the Hotel Hershey the other times). I have lots of memories invested in this place, and it keeps getting better and better. Glad to continue the tradition with my own family. Top notch facilities and service, lots to do. Right in the heart of some of the most beautiful farmland you've seen. Mr. Hershey created something special here. Makes my heart happy just to think about it.

For the $$, cant say it was worth it.. The rooms (reeses section) are outdated and corridors had an unpleasant odor. While the indoor and outdoor pool were small, they were sufficient. Free mini golf was fun and restaurants offered a wide range of tastes. Just think the rates were a bit excessive.

A great place for families to visit because of the indoor Waterworks pool. They have several large conference rooms. They are able to host anything from a small business meeting to large conference or wedding. There are 4 restaurants on the property.

Overall the experience was good, but the details leave much toi be desired for the price. The lodge is huge , but common spaces do not accommodate large numbers. It seems it would be nice at half occupancy so that you don't have to stand to eat at the waterworks. In addition, signage could be better. It's like a giant maze, not the fun kind. Would I go back?......maybe, chocolate is hard to resist.

Great family place. Clean and comfy room. My 6 yr old loved the indoor Waterworks area. We went during spring break so it was crowded during certain hours. Food and drinks were pricey but delicious in the restaurants. We stayed 3 nights and my daughter didn't want to leave. We hope to come during the summer if finances allow. This was a memorable mommy n me trip from NY.

All I can say is wow what a place. This lodge is huge to say the least. It has to take up at least two blocks there are different wings off of it and you all most need a map. Everything about this place is special. Don't be afraid to try it.

I have stayed at Hershey Lodge several times & always enjoy my stay. Love the new water pool and the arcade. Nice quiant touches like the fireplace in the lobby and chocolate scented shampoo in the room. The bathrooms could use a modern renovation though. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Visited Hershey in December to see the Sweet Lights show. The long check in line went quickly and smoothly and we were soon in our room, greeted by fresh cookies and milk. The service was great, the staff even helped me with directions in the parking lot, on their way to clock in. It was a good family experience.

This is probably the best hotel to stay at it is a little expensive but they have a big room service menu breakfast, lunch, dinner and a kids menu. The lodge is HUGE there's a gift shop two restraunt's and all-round the place is great (pics from the bears' den restraunt)

I went to this hotel a lot as a kid and really enjoyed it. Went back this weekend, and kinda wish I'd left the memory as is. When we arrived we were told our room would be ready "in a few minutes" so we hung around the hotel...and got a text 3-1/2 hours later that the room was ready. The room itself, I believe, was billed as a "Superior King" and it was not a superior anything. It was a dark, cavelike room with no view; reminded me of the staff quarters in many of the old Catskill hotels. We did get a different room, thank goodness. Had dinner in the Forebay, where the drinks were fun and the short ribs were really dry. Overall this place is in need of an overhaul. Plus, the doorman was REALLY tense and leaped on me whenever I drove my car near the portico, which, as a hotel guest, I had to do several times. I won't be back to Hershey Lodge, but at least I have a lot of great kid memories of the place.

Food was really, really terrible. The place was very expansive and good for hosting a large social event. However, it can sometimes feel like you're stuck in a maze as there is little outside light.

Way overpriced, mediocre food, rooms were filthy upon checkin, staff was friendly but incompetent. Reservation was messed up giving us only a queen sized bed for a family of 5, bed linens dirty when we got in, my youngest child left his favorite stuffed animal that the staff disposed saying we didn t have a claim ticket despite us having confirmation numbers saying we had submitted. Save your money and stay off property to enjoy the great park and even better town.

We stayed in the Reece's section which is on the opposite side of the hotel than the lobby, but it is near the indoor pool. The indoor pool and water park was a great option when we came on a weekend and got rained out a day. The staff was fantastic. I really enjoyed the stay.

It was not worth all of the money it cost. Elevators were faulty and I witnessed a woman almost get her leg closed in the door. Some of the customer service and reservation staff was very rude. I called to get my car from valet and the woman never told them! Also when I called to make my reservation the woman refused to book me a queen room even though online it said nothing about handicap only. I ended up using the online booking instead. parking and bell service was nice though and the room was clean. Was expecting a nicer room for the price though.

My family and I stayed at the Lodge from Thursday ...

My family and I stayed at the Lodge from Thursday to Sunday. It was a nice hotel but lots of traffic inside. There was a dog show going on and appeared the staff was more concerned with the guest that were there for the conference than the guest of the hotel. My kids showed up for kids check in no one was there, then they went to activity by the pool and no one was there to conduct the activities that were written out on the kids check in forms. So my kids never got to enjoy any of the kids check in activities or receive treats. The front desk staff is not so friendly although they try to be. The restaurants we are at were Hershey grill which my family enjoyed. The second restaurant was Fire and grain which was not that great! It was very pricey for children to eat a buffet at 12.95 and Adults at 19.95. If you are guest of the hotel you should not have to pay this much especially if you paid well over 1,000 just for three nights. I came with my three kids and husband so i was given a towel just for two kids i was told i would need to purchase the third. Wow!! I was told we would get a room to accommodate us 5 but we needed to bring aero bed which i did but then we had no walking room and the first night after we all went swimming we came back to the room to shower. Only my daughter took a shower and tub filled up and would not go down. Maintance came to fix it and that took about 30 mins and he left a muddle of water on the floor along with all the wet towels. No one apologized to us just said maintanence will come. Then we ordered room service on Saturday night and by the time it came my kids fell asleep the pizza went to waste and you have to call room service to tell them to come pick up your tray. We only ordered a burger, pizza, water bottle and warm (dry) pretzel and it came out to 57.00. An hr later!! 17.00 disgusting pizza because I tried it and it was ewwww we left the whole box there. On the positive why i gave it 3 stars was the location, free shuttle services, complimentary Hershey Museum and garden tickets. I think if your going to allow three kids you need to give more than 1 arcade 20.00 and 2 towels and food for two kids only. That s not fair!! i asked the front desk is the water park open at Hershey she said yes that s what your ticket covers, zoo, water park and 2 hr preview entrance into the park. I think as soon as you check in they should provide you with family activities schedule, restaurants and a tour guide. These things you have to find. Thanks for the Hershey's upon check in and the 1 hershey bar when you order room service!! Milton Hershey was a giving man and a awesome character would he be pleased with this treatment! If you strive for excellence than you must perform no less than excellence!! Next year we will stay at the Hershey Hotel.

The theme for the restaurant was great. I'm not sure if it was because we were there sort of late (after the hockey game) but the waitress got one of our drinks wrong and we were not told that anything other than chips would be an up charge. When the hamburger came out it was far from well done. I would love to try them again to see if it was an off night.

Been going here since I was 7! I'm 19 now and will be coming back here in August. I've seen many changes with this hotel through the years. Seeing the Waterworks being installed and opening Fire and Grain. I gave that restaurant a shot last year and wasn't disappointed at all. I hope one day when I have a wife and kids to bring them here every summer!

Here for conference. Hospitality has been excellent. Room was clean. Minor maintenance to windows and curtai s cold be addressed. There were also coffee cups left outside door that housekeeping never picked up from previous guests.

Everything nice I could possibly say about this place is tainted by the fact that there were some kind of rodents- mice or rats I don t know- in our room overnight. I could not sleep to the sound of their scuttling and squeaking overnight and was too worried about upsetting our 3 kids to create a scene overnight. At 6 am, I went to the front desk to discuss this. The hotel representative did not bat an eyelid or even look me in the eye, no apology, no conversation. I asked him if he would ensure someone looked into the matter and he may have nodded or remained noncommittal. I have never had such an experience anywhere we have stayed in the past. I have other opinions, some positive and others negative, about Hershey Lodge, but they all are minor compared to the terrible night I spent hearing some very brazen and tame rodents claiming the room.

Lodge is big and parking was tight. Got a workout just going to breakfast and back to room. When you asked questions most people did not know things like normal operating hours at the park, what time did the shuttle come, they did not have a map for the park. They don't talk about gluten free options at the restaurant unless you ask, nothing marked on menus. The Bear's Den said they could do anything gluten free, when I asked
No hooks in the bathroom anywhere to hang up clothes or toiletry bag.
Seems to be popular with families, some say they come every year.
Best bet is to go the Hershey Grill for breakfast, although further away you can usually get a table or seat at the counter if you get there before 9am.

We loved our stay!! The lodge has large rooms and amazing amenities. My kids love the amazing indoor pool complex, the mini golf, the characters, and the activities. The food is delicious. The service is outstanding. We have been impressed and delighted multiple times each day. We can't wait to return!

A good lodge! Staff is MOSTLY kind and helpful (some are unfriendly and rude). Prices are NOT reasonable ($6 for a small smoothie!? Really!? That s unacceptable for a family lodge. This isn t a 5-star, gourmet hotel). Place is clean and kept. Elevators are SLOW (faster to use staircase). Lighting is poor, but decor is great. Perfect location for parties, getaways, conventions, or group vacations.

Stayed here Christmas Week. Positives: Kid friendly. Food decent for hotel dining. Negatives: Rooms very small and dated. Check-in 45 minutes. Hotel spread out and not well marked. Long distances rooms to lobby. Parking confusing and tight. Confusing to find pool, workout room. Lobby and bars small and extremely crowded -- not designed for capacity of rooms. Staff told me they were surprised at number of guests this week. What? Economy is cranking and people have money to spend geniuses. Built in 1960s and added on over years according to staff -- it shows. Needs a complete redesign. Will stay at Embassy Suites or similar next time. Overpriced hotel.

The hotel is clean and the room was really nice, it was an inside the hotel room that I think had been newly renovated. My disappointment is seeing so many people throughout the lobby area and the gift shop not following the COVID guidelines presented upon check-in. So many without masks on or wearing them incorrectly. At close to $300 a night they need additional staff throughout the property (& at the theme park) to enforce the rules to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests and their own employees. Pre-Covid I would ve given 5 stars...they can and should do better.

Gorgeous hotel, with almost frustratingly helpful staff. The parking situation is a little confusing and could be clearer. Once you're settled in it's all good. We ended up booking this hotel last minute and it was totally worth it. The lobby and hallways smell like chocolate and there's a beautiful fireplace sitting area towards the back of the lobby. Restaurants in the building are all very nice and the gift shop has a small convenience center at the back that has stuff you might have forgotten.

Stayed in the Hershey's kiss tower at the lodge. Room was well kept and clean. Maybe only certain parts are older? The lights had this fake spray on to make look older maybe can be misconstrued as dirty. Unless the rooms in this section have been redone. My only complaint is sometimes the buses can take a while but we have had this exact problem at Disney as well.staff was always helpful and we will be staying here again.
