The guest side and member side are no different as people steal so much it's ridiculous. The staff show favoritism and this is not a place to get comfortable only temporary for getting your own place!

They have resources that are incredibly valuable in getting homeless people back in the workforce. They provide 3 wonderful meals a day, a shower, and a spot to rest your head at night. They have a welcome center which provides volunteer services to get homeless people their IDs, social security cards, and birth certificate. They also provide a be phone and internet to all who need it.

Worst down on my luck time in my life. Went here and got a base of operations to get back into the work force and get back on my feet asap! Great security officers, great staff, great volunteers, and they are doing it understaffed! The location is perfect for the city transit and location to the library. It would be nice to see ppl that fund the charity test it out for 48 hours to learn more about their investment!

They run a terrible system , I had family who used to be there, his phone always kept getting stolen , it took twice as long to get on his feet then he needed to be because he kept having to rebuy his necessitys, I think you guys should have safe place to hold their belongs to ensure no one steals it. The goal should be to help them get out of there, the few that are fighting to get out of there deserve that.

If you feel lost and feel like everyone you know has forgotten you. There is hope. Four years ago I found myself in that place and thanked God found them , they gave me somewhere to sleep somewhere to eat and a second chance nobody else would. Medical , dental , health. Just go if you have nowhere else to go.

This place is sorry, the receptionists are rude and ignore you. I went to pick up some medicine for a friend and they still kept me waiting for fifteen minutes. It's a shame how they get paid and yet they treat people like a prison infirmary. Sorry professionalism.

This place was okay, but too many people didn't respect me in PCY. And alot of people were frozen so I decided to leave on my own. And live my life. Without a shelter. But God bless the homeless.

I have known different people to stay here but never have myself because i heard you dnt have privacy because things are lost/stolen. I hope that things get better so people can keep their belongings since they already don't have much as it is. They deserve to have a place that not only helps them but also a place where their belongings aren't stolen.

Homeless after I lost my job to covid. They're not helping anybody that's not already inside. If you're down on your luck that's too bad because you're stuck on the streets with little resources available. This place is our last resort and they've shut their doors. It's a bad time to be broke with nowhere to turn to.

About Haven for Hope

Haven for Hope is a non-profit organization that has been transforming the lives of people in San Antonio, Texas since 2006. It is more than just a shelter; it is a transformational campus that provides comprehensive services to help individuals and families overcome homelessness and poverty.

The organization was founded by Bill Greehey, the former CEO of Valero Energy Corporation, who saw the need for a holistic approach to addressing homelessness. He envisioned a place where people could receive not only food and shelter but also education, job training, healthcare, counseling, and other support services.

Today, Haven for Hope serves as a model for other communities across the country. Its campus spans 22 acres and includes more than 300 staff members and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide hope and healing to those in need.

One of the unique aspects of Haven for Hope is its focus on individualized care. Each person who comes through its doors receives an assessment to determine their specific needs and goals. From there, they are connected with resources that can help them achieve those goals – whether it's finding stable housing or getting treatment for addiction or mental health issues.

Another key component of Haven for Hope's approach is its emphasis on community building. The campus includes spaces where residents can gather together for meals or activities like gardening or art classes. This sense of belonging helps individuals feel less isolated and more connected to others around them.

In addition to providing direct services to clients, Haven for Hope also works closely with local government agencies and community partners to address systemic issues related to homelessness. Its advocacy efforts have helped bring about changes in policies related to affordable housing, mental health care access, criminal justice reform, and more.

Overall, Haven For Hope has made significant strides in improving the lives of people experiencing homelessness in San Antonio – but there is still much work left to be done. With continued support from donors and volunteers alike, this organization will continue making positive change in our community every day.
