I was there in 2001 and then 2004 before they added on rebuilt or what ever. Hotel was very good back then. Food restaurants. Massages. It is better to have them come to your room. Which I did. I was single then. Ended up with a nice lady I hired for aweek to show me around Harbin. I would stay at this hotel. I felt safe and comfortable. Price average.
We had a wonderful stay at the Shangri-La. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and we had a great view.
Very pleasant experience. I'm also very thankful to front desk officer Kit Gao who offered her superb assistance when I left my wallet in the hotel upon checkout.
Overall very happy with the service the hotel offered. Thank you!!
They simply have very competent staffs. F&B manager was very attentive to make sure our order will come on time. Front Office manager was as hospitable extending all flexibility to make sure that our stay would be pleasant
Thanks to the warm hospitality of Miss Yang Qiaobei, the luxury club! Prepare special meals for me, let me leave good memories in Harbin, thank you!
It s a good place to stay here, the room is clean and the environment is good.
First of all 18 years ago this Harpin Shangri-La opened all the time.
Here I have been running the top in Harbin city forever. I recently planned to have a Marriott hotel and opened the Shangri - La on the other side of Matsu - gawa with the same owner as this Harpin Shangri - La.
Thanks to this Shangri-La, I have raised the dignity of the Harbin even a little, and I have a position as a longing admirer.
I do not think people who have never stayed or who does not receive the service firmly are qualified, but I have stayed over 100 times.
Although service deterioration and equipment improvement are seen, the luxurious feeling is enough and the meal is also very delicious.
Shangri-La Hotel, Harbin is my first choice hotel in Harbin. As an international five-star hotel hardware facility has been changing frequently for many years, mainly from top to bottom, employees feel professional, dedicated and well-trained.
Good location, just next to the Songhua River Bridge and close to the CBD. Public transport and taxi easy to catch. To Sun Island Scenic Park, Ice and Snow Fairy Land just 10 minutes without traffic. Superior Twin Room a bit small but comfortable and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.
Nice and helpful staff.
The first room smelly, the receptionist change the second room for me pretty quickly. But the bath room smelly too.
Smoking indoor still happen in the hotel and The changing area/rest area.
8000 characters may be excessive comments but willing to share that checking in and out was of same level of service and efficiency of Shangri-La Intl. The effort of your team at the club lounge was remarkable and genuine. I also spent some time at your sport facility led by pleasant staff.
Ice palace restaurant is not in this hotel. But in SongBei Shangrila hotel. Service is good but overprice.
Loved our stay! the staff is very helpful and so friendly!
great service, great location, clean room. wonderful experience.
There are 2 Shangri la in Harbin, across the river. We stayed in the old one, design of the room & bathroom is a bit dated but still very maintained and of good quality. Located right next to the river Soong Hua Jiang, great view from the room. A stroll by the riverside in the morning & evening is a must. Do get a may of Harbin from the hotel- informative & easy to read.
Ms Maria and her team on the Horizon floor went out of their way to make our stay comfortable . We had a slight problem on check inin respect of the room , but Maria sorted out very quickly .
The room that was given to us eventually was excellent .
Maria and team keep up your good work and hope to see all of you again .
Thanks you.
All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. It has been a most wonderful and enjoyable stay. The hotel facilities are world class and the location makes it very easy to go round the city. A special mention for the staff at the Cafe and Conceirge for their hospitality and assistance.
I'm done cleaning the toilet bowl with a brush that has been cleaned.
Pretty old rooms, kinda typical north-eastern China style if you know what I mean but in general they serve the need if like me you are there for a quick business trip. Very gentle staff!
Although the structure is a bit old, it's substitute completely with staff service mind and food. Try steak for dinner here, so impressive.
A 5-star hotel that has had its heyday. While staff are generally attentive, the rooms are dated and tired-looking. If you have access to the lounge, the view is pretty amazing in winter which is when most go to Harbin! Take a leisurely walk on the river towards the city centre when it's frozen.
We stopped by the Shangri-La Harbin after a long walk and tried to get a food massage. The health club seemed to have foot massage on offer for RMB 98. But the two assistants tried to lie us down on a bed, rather than have us sit. When we asked for the foot bath that normally comes before a massage, they explained that would cost RMB 200. When we agreed, the noddingly vanished, leaving us alone in the room with the massage beds, and we left after waiting for them to return for 10 minutes.
The hotel concierge proposed a place 20 minutes away by cab. It seems that a foot massage, being a staple service elsewhere in China, is hard to come by in Haerbin.
The overall feeling of staying is good, that is, the restaurant desktop is not clean, if it can be improved, it will be better!
I would like to commend Shangri-La Harbin for their impeccable service. Every employee I met from the check-in staff to the concierge and Horizon Club staff were very friendly and inviting. Any problems that I had was dealt with quickly in a kind and friendly manner. I was checked-in by Kit Koh who was very patient and friendly, Kit also helped me with changing my booking and payment information. I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is visiting your city. I look forward to visiting your hotel if and when I return. Thank you.
This is not so much a review of the hotel, but a dining venue within the premises, referred to as . Basically, a hot pot restaurant set within an ice room. It will be easier to imagine eating hot pot in a giant walk in freezer.
As it is Shangri-la, the prices are not what I would regard as cheap. Service is ok, as we were a rather sizable group, the staff had a hard time keeping up with orders and refills. The biggest flaw of the meal, is that, whoever who came up with the concept, failed to account for very large groups simultaneously eating hot pot. Early into the meal, as heat built up, the ice inside started melting at an alarming rate. Instead of experiencing dining in an igloo, it was more like dining in the middle of a tropical rain storm. To make matters worse, whenever the water drips into the pots, the hot soup splashes out. We were all completely drenched from the barrage of relentless melting ice and splashing hot soup, by the end of the meal, and did not enjoy it very much. Perhaps it will be better, with a much much much smaller number of pax.
The location of the hotel is good and the view of the high building is very good.
Before entering the gate, there was no service staff to help pull the luggage.
The interior is a classic style with traces of time.
The Horizon Club Lounge on the 15th floor is warm and comfortable.
The reaction hopes that there will be vegetables in a simple meal. After 15 minutes, Chef Helen came to the chicken soup and was pleasantly surprised.
The room was clean and comfortable and the service was good. The hair dryer won't work, and someone will help you soon.
Most of the hotel staff were very friendly. However, two negatives:
1. In the Chinese Restaurant on 1st floor, I have ordered several items, but one of the items were forgotten, and not cooked. Since I did not have enough time, I canceled it. (Sep 6th)
2. I needed to book one additional night stay (for Sunday, Sep 10th), and I asked this at the front desk. But I was told to make a phone call for reservation, since I needed to use corporate rate for the stay. When I made a phone call, I found that all rooms were full, except horizon club rooms. Eventually, I could not make reservation, and needed to look for other hotels. (Sep 6th)
Irene Gao, a newcomer, did a lot of work, but my boss told me that it was a nuisance when I chucked out. Thank you very much for your consideration, but Gao's response was really good.
I have only been there once, the cakes I eat are very delicate, very tasty, the details are in place, the service is very comfortable.
My son and I stayed here at Shangri La Harbin In August 2016 for 4 nights. There was only 2 things.. The first thing was an issue we encountered. It was the only issue we encountered during our whole stay. It was on the 3rd night our water got cut off somehow. They quickly got that fixed in about 30 minutes. The 2nd thing was one of the staff. He said he was a manager. His name was Hansen He spoke english with a British or Australian accent. Sometimes sounded British sometimes Australian. He was helping us arrange a taxi and he asked me You said you were american, right? I said yes. He replied Really? I said yes again. He went on to say I don't believe that I was taken aback because thats the first time I've ever heard anyone say they didn't believe i was american. I asked why? He said Your english sounds like studied english, not english like you were born and spoke it your whole life. Then he asked me if I was sure I was a native speaker. I thought it was a big joke. I said of course I'm a native speaker of english. He said OK and smiled and commented You speak differently, unlike an american. I asked him if he was a language professional or something and asked him to just help me book the taxi. He said he meets americans all the time and they spoke differently than me. If Hansen is reading this, I hope you realize how weird that was and I hope you checked my passport. haha. I am full blooded american. Everyone has different ways of speaking any language, including chinese people speaking mandarin. I speak slowly and clearly, but my accent is definitely american! Next time I would suggest to the staff here and Hansen, don't try to act like you are a language teacher. Please! Just give good service and help your customers.
Overall a good hotel! 4/5
Sales Manager Peter Zhang went out of his way to accommodate us and make our experience at staying at Shangri-La outstanding and very pleasant.
Peter is one amazing person, full of positive energy, and is always helping in nature.
When Peter has to go after his work he asked Elton to make sure that our evening scheduled taxi tour is being arranged. Elton was also very supportive and helpful.
Keep up this excellent people working for Shangri-La.
The location is very good, the service is very warm, the hotel environment is also very good; the room has a humidifier and air purifier, very considerate. Thanks to Shangri-La, Harbin for giving me a very pleasant trip.
Generally good. Concierge service was helpful.
Good view from the room but price seems too high.
1) Arrive at the hotel at 12 noon and inform the reservation that the room is still being cleaned. Diamond VIP is not guaranteed to be in the room and even 8 o'clock can be stayed? 2) Return to the hotel at 9 o'clock in the evening, go to the Horizon Club to get the room card, find it, I will go get a drink. Halfway through, the waiter called "wait a minute." I think this sentence is very offensive. I asked why I waited. She said that the computer does not have my membership card and I want to give it once. I don't think there is a number that will allow me to register at the Horizon Club. Still can't wait for me to take the drink, go back to the front desk, politely ask me to provide the number is not standard courtesy? I feel like I have to steal a drink. 3) Back to the room, VIP welcome gift has nothing, I want to call the customer service to get Paris water and red wine. 4) I just lived in the branch of Dalian, Changchun, and you are really bad in Harbin.
The room is too old ... comparative price is not worth it. It totally detracts from my impression of staying in Shangri-La in other countries, very disappointed.
I like this hotel, Large rooms with great sight and friendly environment. Sea food was so good.
Template Shangri La: room clean, quiet and a tad old fashioned. However, avoid ordering "cocktails" at all cost from the lounge. Better off drinking water. They need to have a cocktail bartender who would use fresh juice and actual alcohol. Not fair to get the waitresses to make them. It is an art not to be abused. Undrinkable.
The staff are quite helpful and friendly especially those work in the restaurant.
The decor was dated, and there were constant construction (electric saw, drilling) noises. The view out of the window was nice, however, they are in need of a cleaning.
In the hotel, in the ice cave, the hot pot below zero is very good.
Nice property with a great location in Harbin by the Songhua River. Rooms are a bit tired, but everything is functional and clean. English communication is a bit shaky. Bellmen were very helpful in obtaining taxis and local information. Lounge bar is nice, albeit with a limited cocktail menu.
We spent four nights in Shangri-La Harbin. The service was in general very good. However the rooms need some update (at least room 1125), especially the bath. Also the room s doorknob wasn t really trustworthy. Nevertheless the riverside view was nice and we had a great view to the Ice World.
We had breakfast and dinner in the coffee garden restaurant, which was good. Thank you to the coffee garden team. We got every day a separate plate with some cheese. Special thanks to Diana. You are so kind.
Thank you to the team of the Horizon Club Lounge, especially Jessica and Charles. They helped us with a pc and internet connection, so that we could rebook our next hotel. It wasn t possible to do it via Wifi.
Also special thanks to the concierge (sorry we don t know your name). He always helped in any problem about transportation.
Btw the Ice and Snow World was really really fantastic. Awesome! You must see if you can.
The ice restaurant inside this hotel is not beautiful.
Friendly and helpful staffs, nice and comfy bar, good location
