The nastiest most despicable place in San Antonio, with the lowest forms of life on Earth. 97 percent are the scum of the earth, and will never be anything but. A HAVEN for dope fiends and thieves, hardly anyone showers there, and the staff is overwhelmed. But some rich peckerwood is making a lotta money thru government funds. Stay away from there if u are human

Don't understand why tasks like laundry, Mats, and needing a blue bag to check in are so screwed up. I had to go to the launder-mat to do my laundry because I couldn't get it done at PCY. Why? Couldn't get job finding help at all. (Very Poor )
i currently stay at haven in the family dorm with my 5 month old daughter. we have our own, furnished room, access to the amazing on-site daycare, hundreds of housing and employment opportunities at my fingers and we're provided with 3 hot meals a day. i thank god for the chance to start over at a place like haven.
The security, staff, volunteers & usually the residents are just genuine in the purpose they are serving there. One of the statements I see them stand by is they are there to serve and bring out the potential in all who seek help
My wife works there....and they really help alot of homeless people with their needs to recover from drug addictions...or with getting jobs and more. It's a very positive place.
I am an "old" resident of haven for hope I have been there four years and I can say Co-Vid 19 helped me out a lot because of it they put me on the members side. This side is a lot better than the courtyard where they like treating you as a prisoner. I have not once been mistreated over here my one and only complaint about the place and its not even Haven for Hope's fault is that not a lot of things are open because of the Co-Vid 19. My team is an absolute delight. My peer support went above and beyond her call of duty by scheduling an appointment at the DMV and they are going to DRIVE me there. My appointment wasn't going to be till March 3rd OF NEXT YEAR. So I'd like to say BRAVO HAVEN FOR HOPE. They are already also in the process of helping me get my VERY first apartment to live in. THANK GOD FOR HAVEN FOR HOPE I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE I WOULD BE WITHOUT YOU!!!
For the most part the staff are nice. With the exception of a few. Staff attempted to have my 14 year old son questioned and searched about a family's missing property without me being present. Once I stated how this is not acceptable, the staff member was extremely rude and unprofessional. Once it was found my son did not have the missing property, no apology was given.
An incredible community build for people in need. Very accessible and respectful to all people. It's so unique! San Antonio is really luck to have this organization!
Thanks is more like no hope for the homeless ...they want u (homles person) to get a flat mattress and a thin sheet so u can pick a spot in the outside basketball court....the showers and restrooms are so nasty the food is like jail food...and it STINKS PPL HAVE DESISES AND THEY WANT U TO SLEEP NEXT TO THEM . untill there is an opening for u to go inside..once it inside it still takes forever to even get eulp cuz they don't have enough counselors for the case load they have so they quit....and then I (homless ) gave to try and figure out where I'm at now with everything cuz I keep getting taused around..if u ask me they wanna keep the ppl there foreve
The picture shown looks clean & inviting but the actual location is filthy & there's no main office to ask questions. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay there.
BIG F#&ING JOKE THEY ONLY HELP LAZY LOW LIFES WITH 7 KIDS AND DRUGGIES THAT DON'T NEED THE HELP TRASH JUST LIKE THE WOKERS AND THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED THE HELP LIKE THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED THERE JUST ISN'T NO HOPE!!!!! EVERYBODY GIVE 4 STARS OR 5 STARS ARE! THE! FAKE! SCUM BAGS WHO FAKED THE HELP THEY NEEDED!! YEA YOU LOW LIFES I agree with the comment below me yes you sure right
I have rated this before so today will be an update. I will list items and how they rate - food: meals are cooked daily and while portions and sodium content may not be best, it is a hot meal and is filling. Sleeping outdoors - with the cold humid nights it is an excellent environment to have your lungs become congested as you sleep, can't do nothing about it, ur us what it is. Restrooms and Showers - I must admit the bathrooms and Showers have been bearable. You don't enter and immediately begin to dry heave. In 90 day period I smelled urine twice. Great improvement! Now as far as helping people, I see the members side has helped, but the common complaint is members are treated as inmates. This is an institution so it is to be expected . Where there is no help, one need only look at the mentally ill, drug addicts, and alcoholics. Their illness precludes them from seeking help and their aggressive behavior keeps them out of programs which may help. A catch-22 for the most needy. Haven for Hope is a great idea and for a certain genre of homeless it works. My question is what will the City do when all the work is completed at Via Centro what will happen to homeless. They are housed right in the middle of a district that Via wants to build up. What will be this outcome?
The services they provide are so needed in the community. We went to donate over 2000 pairs of socks and took a tour. Their mission is amazing. Any help you can provide is accepted. From your time, to hygiene products, clothing (only thing that has to be new and in package is socks and underwear), toys, furniture (they help set up homeless families once they get back in their feet), school supplies, anything helps.
It helped me emotinal economic to belive that Pepole can change from bad to excelent and set goals GOOD LUCK to ALL GBU ALWAYS just say I'm going to go forwet and DO IT
Incredible organization! The people at Haven For Hope truly care about helping the San Antonio area, especially those who have less fortunate life experience. They have give people recovering from homelessness things other shelters would not have. Things like choice of food, barbers, church, stores, dental, etc. all in one area. They have all the things people need in one area. This just shows a little of how much the people working there care.
Lots of resources if u take advantage of what they have to offer, unless u like sitting on your ass collecting a Government check like a majority of people do there.
They separated me and my family. Just because the kids aren't my biological. But yet I took care of them, sheltered them, fed them, clothed them and their father. They sent me to pcy ... Me and Juan had so much headaches in there. Wish there were shelters that help families stay together regardless. They don't deserve one star but had to click on one to post this.
THEY TREAT PPL BAD, THEY WAKE YU UP EARLY IN THE MORNING AT 6 AM, THE WORKERS STEAL & THROW YUR STUFF AWAY WHEN YU PUT IT IN THE LOCKER THEY GIVE YU, THEY TREAT YU LIKE IF YUR LOCKED UP, THEY THROW YU OUT FOR ANY DUMB LITTLE REASON, WHAT PPL donate TO THE SHELTER THE HOMELESS PPL DON'T EVEN GET IT CZ THE WORKERS R MEAN BOUT IT & SOME OF THEM SELL IT, THE WORKERS MESS WT EACH OTHER, THEY DO DRUGS, SOME WORKERS SELL TO THEIR OWN CO WORKERS & HOMELESS PPL.THEY HID THE DRUGS WHEN COMING IN TO DO IT FOR THEMSELVES, CO WORKERS OR HOMELESS PPL &THE FOOD THEIR SUCKS BAD THERE.. I KNOW CZ I WAS LIVING THERE NOW I RATHER LIVE IN THE STREETS... I BEEN THERE SINCE IT 1 OPEN..
H4H made it possible for me to get back on my feet! I was treated like a person and I always felt like I mattered! Being able to have my dog with me was the most important thing in the world! They helped with his shots, neutering and grooming! Knowing he was safe made it possible for me to find work, save money and, after exactly 90 days I moved into my own apartment! I can't say enough wonderful things about what was given to me and all the help I received!
