Very overrated. Been thrice and the food is consistently mediocre.

On my most recent visit, the chef decided to replace the mozzarella in the "cucumber and mozzarella salad" with Gouda. One of the grossest salads I've ever had.

If you want a delightful high-quality dining experience - head across the street to Alden and Harlow.

This place has really good pizza and really good steak and cheese, and you get free french fries. I don't think I have ever spent more than 6 dollars at this place. If you bring a 10 dollar bill and 4 ones, they will take the ones over the 10 because more dollars means more money. The price is amazing, quality maybe not so much, but for the price, and the amazing service and comedy that you can find inside

It was a cool scene and an upscale atmosphere. Very nicely located and close to the ART so we went before our show. Some of the dinners were excellent, sadly mine was not. There were some extraordinarily odd squid ink gnocchi in my dish that were just awful. My husband's fish was delicate and wonderful. Drinks were inventive. Just stay away from the black cigar stubbs (the gnocchi) and you'll be good.

Food is extremely rich and over-salted. For the price there are other restaurants in Cambridge I would rather go to. It is worth going here at least once but it won't be a regular place I frequent.

A Cambridge treasure! The lobster bisque is so delicious with lots of lobstah!!! The bisque is poured tableside into a shallow bowl containing lobster, pearl onions and nasturtium leaves. The venison is also expertly prepared. The mocha eclairs is a wonderful dessert choice. I can close my eyes and imagine I am dining in Vienna. I have seen the restaurant decor change over several decades and the food remains excellent. The patio is lovely and is very comfortable, a comfy pillow provides excellent support. Service was superb.

The food was fantastic! I would have given them 5 stars, except that we waited an hour and a half after ordering to get our lunch. We didn't even notice until an hour in because we were having good conversation, but then it got ridiculous. Surprisingly they did not even apologize.

Service seemed professional but became less friendly as soon as we did not order enough in their taste (eg they brought our bill before we even finished the dessert). On 'apologizing' that we were bad guests, the waiter responded 'we didn't kick you out'. Food was good, but burrata was more a sad small pile of white cheese, instead of a lushy ball of Italian cheese.

Good service, great food. Nice open kitchen feel, with a simple yet elegant interior design. Reason for 4 stars was it was extremely expensive. Even more than many of the other similar level restaurants I ve been to in Boston.

Came here for brunch, there weren't a lot of options on the menu, but I really enjoyed what I ordered! I had the biscuits and chorizo gravy and it was delicious! I wasn't a fan of their Bloody Mary but I can picky about those so that wasn't a huge deal. The atmosphere is a little formal.

At our first visit to the venerable Harvest in man...

At our first visit to the venerable Harvest in many years, we were thoroughly pleased by new chef Tyler Kinnett's divinely balanced Gazpacho appetizer ($14) w/snappy lobster, avocado, lime creme fruit and mint and his flavor-laden Roobos Tea Marinated Duck Breast ($34) w/black rice, blackberries, pickled beet puree, pecans, summer beans and honey balsamic. Other, very good appetizers were the Housemade Charcuterie ($18) w/toasted, nicely garlic-ed bread, and Basil Ricotta Agnolotti pasta ($16) with squashes, tomato, corn puree and pine nuts. We shared a deconstructed Keylime Tart ($10) with creme fraiche mousse, basil swirl meringue, hibiscus marshmallow, olive oil cookie and pickled lemon chamomile crumble. While most of the unnecessarily deconstructed components were delicious, the "cookie" crust was thus exposed for the dull wafer-like non-entity that it really was. Pity that they were not presented as one traditional whole, so that the weakness of the crust could have been less glaring. In terms of the dessert menu as a whole, when is the mania for salted desserts going to end? There was just too much of it! The service was terrific, and the setting refreshingly comfortable.

Upscale restaurant catering to area professionals. Nice for business lunches and dinners. Tucked away off of Brattle Street, so can be hard to find. Parking is challenging in Harvard Square, but the MBTA red line Harvard Square subway station is very close by.

After a really horrible weekday lunch service experience a few years ago I gave it another try, this time for a warm spring Sunday brunch. The food as before was decent but unremarkable. The service was slow but acceptable. The setting was perfect in the outdoor patio.

The food here is the perfect blend of comfort and sophisticated. The roast chicken is amazing and the ceasar salad is also great. The puddings are good, but on the fancy rather than satisfying side.

Came for restaurant week.

Came for restaurant week.

Potentially the best deal of the week(s): $15 for a 1/2 glass of wine, $30 for a full glass paired with each course. We got the half glass, which was more like a full glass at most restaurants, so it was more than enough.

For a starter I had the corn and ricotta ravioli, which in itself was perfect, but the mushroom under it was odd and the broth was impossible to get out without a spoon which we were never given--more of a reason to eat their amazing bread.

How good their bread is deserves it's own break in writing.

For an entree I had the basil tagliatelle which was amazing--as was the toppings of corn and tomato. Clean plate club on both sides of the table. More of a reason to use the bread!

For desert I had the peach cake which had a few different creams on it, on of which should have been called 'raspberry burst' because of all the flavor that was packed into it. Peach ice cream was great too.

Great service who were on top of everything--I say people because we saw a few different people doing each part, not like one person as a server for each table. Wine might have been brought a bit early for each one but it's fine--my problem for wanting to drink it too much!

The Scituate Lobster Bisque started off my devine dinner. So they plate the lobster meat chunks, pearl onions, and lobster roe dumplings in a shallow bowl... AND THEN THE WAITER POURS THE BISQUE OVER IT. It was creamy rich and flavorful. I could have eaten a gallon! My main course was the Roasted Long Island Duck Breast. This was my first ever duck dish, and I liked it a lot. The meat was nicely cooked and juicy, the accompanyments were well thought out. I finished my meal with the Blackberry Pavlova. Such an awesome amalgamation of different textures and flavors! I would definitely return!

We visited Harvest for lunch on Thanksgiving.

We visited Harvest for lunch on Thanksgiving.
Harvest Thanksgiving lunch menu is quite popular, as we learnt from follow diners who have been visiting this place for a decade or so.
Our experience, however, was a tad bit underwhelming. To start off, we were given a choice between waiting for 15-20 minutes or sitting, all alonw, in the open verandah, which by the way is lovely and had it been a sunny fall afternoon, we would have been imensely happy. But it was 40 degrees and the overhead heat radiators and the giant fire place couldn't keep us sufficiently warm.
That aside, the food was good. Not exceptional but on par with our expectations.
The three courses covered all the Thanksgiving staples. Between the two of us, we tried the shrimo cocktail (mediocre), pasta with onion and beef sauce (good), turkey breast ( exceptional), raspberry cheesecake (good) and apple pie(mediocre).
At $72 per person, the meal wasn't exactly cheap.
We aren't, if we will be back there again next year.

I have to say this place has been hit or miss for me. The first time I came here, I was pretty disappointed food and service wise. I love the location and the fact that it is a little more upscale, I love to dress up! The first time I came here was pretty disappointed with our dishes, nothing that special and the service was so so. Another time I came here I had the most unbelievable burger and soup and the service was decent and it was a great experience. i also found the most amazing dessert espresso creme brulee yum yum but later I was disappointed when I called about a missing hat and the girl on the phone was completely rude and unhelpful. I feel like they need to up their quality of service for the prices and decor. This potentially is a great place, its just not there yet.

As two vegetarians going out on a date, we thought the farm to table creative cuisine would have a few good options for us. We ordered the uovo raviolo & tortellini. While the ragout that the raviolo was served on was very tasty, we were kind of let down by the two dishes we ordered. I'm pretty sure that the food is amazing for everyone else, but for vegetarians I wouldn't recommend visiting. PS Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was delightful.

I found this place using Google and I was pleasantly surprised. When you enter you'd probably think everything will be overpriced because of how fancy the decor is and how exceptional the service is, but that's far from the truth. This is a perfect brunch spot with delicious food and wonderful service, at a great price!

The main courses were up next. My friend had the Bay of Fundy salmon, while I had the marinated pork loins. If you had to choose between the two, go for the salmon. The pork was quite boring. The salmon, by contrast, had a beautifully crispy skin, and a good amount of flavor. Still, both dishes were plated nicely, but the salmon was definitely the star.

Brunch was excellent and their protocols/ spacing and cleaning re: covid was very reassuring. The food was amazing and we felt safe eating in the dining room. Versus a recent capital grill experience which was over crowded and too closely sat. We plan to return soon to harvest. So impressed!

My mother was in town for one day to visit my cousin and I at Harvard. I called a week ahead to make a reservation, and when I showed up they had no reservation. I m extremely disappointed in how we were treated and how they turned us away without making a true effort to accommodate us. I will never come here again.

This is a great place to go to if you like creamy, cheesy, very heavy American food.

It is a bad place to go if you want a vegetable rich meal or have dietary restrictions, because they will not make any but minor adjustments. I got some roasted potatoes as a substitution, but they were boiled and had zero seasoning to them. Most places for the price would be far more accommodating.

I had one of the cocktails and it was mostly lemon juice, rendering it undrinkable.

Very rarely do I feel inclined to review businesses, but the service at Harvest was extremely deserving of a positive review. We had brunch there, and when a part of our meal was made slightly not to the way we had wanted it (which we were still ok with), the staff went over and above to bring us a new meal and ensure that we were completely happy with our experience. While it was unnecessary, it made it clear that they take pride in the quality of their food and service. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

You get what you pay for, and if you can find Harvest, you get - and pay for - a lot.

Harvest is in this secluded little space, and the service and decor are both wonderful.

I had the pork rib appetizer, which was a little tough, but it was delicious underneath. My entree was the salmon special with arborio rice and lobster, which was stunning. Truly wonderful.

At $120 for my dinner, I'd expect nothing less. But at $120 for my dinner, I'd gladly go back again and again.

We made our first visit to Harvest for a special occasion, which was noted on the reservation but not acknowledged by the restaurant. I can only think our waiter was untrained, as any alternative would be inexcusable. We had to request the ability to order everything from drinks to entrees. After waiting 20 minutes for drinks, he spilled the entire tray on my husband. Accidents happen, and we felt badly for him. However, for having to sit through the meal soaking wet, not even my husband's drink was comped. The food was tasty, although quite heavy on what tasted like Liquid Smoke. Difficult to eat appetizers with menus still in our laps (we hadn't yet realized that we had to ask to order everything). Finally, after bringing dessert, our waiter never came back, but was occupied with a large table nearby. We had to get up and ask the cashier for the check, and when it wasn't picked up, get up and carry it back to the cashier. Overall, a big disappointment.

Fantastic old school style service in a great atmosphere. The food however has always been a hit-or-miss for me, the cornbread is often stale in the bread basket and cooking temperatures on burgers tend to be very off.

I recently had a late night dinner at Harvest after a play at the ART and it was as fabulous as it has always been. To start with, the fresh Italian (or French) bread was delicious and I almost filled up on it, but fortunately left room for a perfectly seasoned fresh green salad with feta and an incredible mushroom tortellini. I savored every bite!

Have been to Harvest numerous times over the years. It may well have the most consistent, highest quality (and tastiest) menu in the greater Boston area. I've simply never had anything less than a fantastic meal there with flawless service. A must if you are doing a family-related celebration dinner in Cambridge.
