Could use a few cocktail options.
Could use a few cocktail options.
The kitchen was swapped in favor of El Camino which is better but now there are no cocktails and just one non sweet cider so my wife is no longer a fan.

Lots of beers to choose from made onsite and a great foodtruck inside.
Best place in Seattle to have Salad, combo salad is the best of them, Berger the same, I like the music they play as well. Although I wish the fries could be a little bit more. Tried couple of their beers as well, they are super good as well.
Great seasonal food with delicious craft beer. Decent happy hour too.
Great beer and food. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Hales used to be a beloved spot before they switched things up with the food and service. El Camion now serves from their kitchen, which is delicious. I highly recommend the food and the beer, but unfortunately for the in house experience I m giving it a 3 star. The pairing of Hales & El Camion in a shared space feels awkward and not ironed out.
You have to order food from the front and then order the beer from the bar, two separate transactions. Walking in for our first time there was no clear signage on how to proceed and the few staff at the lunch hour were not helpful in guiding us through what to expect. It would've be awesome to see some signs or something that spelled out something like welcome in! Order food at the front, hales drinks at the bar and leave the rest for us... or something of that nature to let the customers know what to expect. It wasn t apparent if we should bus our own tables but we didn t see a bin. A young man came eventually and took a dish so I m assuming there s a busser Otherwise, sorry for leaving the mess, haha.
It felt like the hales and el Camion staff were two very separate entities and there didn t appear to be a good flow or marriage perhaps of the two together for our experience.
It s def a huge change from the full service experience you used to get at Hales. Other people who walked in even asked our party how to order and where. I wish the flow of the experience felt more smooth and the businesses together made the in house experience for its customers seamless.
Little expensive but customer service is excellent.
Hales Ales is a wonderful treat. From their surprisingly excellent hand-crafted beers, to unique menu items such as Troll Porter Meatloaf and the Annual Rain Festival, you owe it to yourself to visit this local treasure. Highly recommended!
Decent pub fare with decent craft brews to wash it down.
Check it out if you are in the neighborhood.
Pretty good beer in a pretty nice atmosphere. They have some games to play while you enjoy your brew. Also one of the few breweries to have an open fermentation room.
Really good food and beer. A few menu selections aren't average pub grub, but more exotic. If you see the brewmaster, he'll share tastings of whatever his latest strange concoction is. BlackBerry IPA is pretty yummy!
They have a prime rib dip that I would kill for. Fortunately they don't make me do that.
They have great Happy Hour options! And the beer selections are classic Seattle micro!
Same good beer but the food is changed in the service is different not the Hale's we used to go to, all of the food was very spicy for us
The Palladium is a Seattle gem. El Camion food on site is great, the ales are delicious, service and atmosphere are great. They frequently do events here too, giving it a community center ish vibe.
My favorite microbrew in Seattle! Restaurant, bar, and beer to go sold here. If Hales cream ale was sold in a can i would buy it!
Excellent English style ales. One of the original pioneers of the craft beer scene. Cozy bar with friendly bartenders. Seating away from the bar includes leather seats and booths. Def order from their kitchen. I believe it's the most authentic and best Mexican food around Seattle
Stopped in February 22nd.
Bartender, Keith, was super friendly and helpful in selecting a bunch of tasters.
Meatloaf was also good.
Will definitely go back and try to hit Happy Hour to try the burger.
My girlfriend and I had a great time here! I recommend the tater tots!
Great beer at very reasonable prices. Sarah is an amazing bartender who will keep a conversation going with multiple people and joke with you. The atmosphere is chill if you sit at the bar and lively in the palladium, beer and entertainment for everyone
Amazing beers, gluten free cider, food and good service.
Nice place with good food. Local pub feel with lots of room.
Nice surroundings, very good service, good food and a fine IPA.
The beer is good and I'm glad they sell supergoose. The customer service was extremely lacking. Even though the bartender knew I also wanted to order food she did not tell me that I needed to go to a separate area outside the main lobby door to order my food she just told me it was billed separate. So I sat at my table for about 5 minutes wondering why I was not getting any service until I got up to ask. She told me it's been like that for years and I was supposed to know this?
Great beer, food, and service! Super accommodating, dog friendly, nice atmosphere, and diverse music playing in the background. We had a great time and will return!
Quality food (burger) and service was both friendly and helpful.
They have a really good dark stout. Some of the most meodecer Mexican food I have had in a long time. Big portions though.
Meh......
The nitro stout is amazing. We had the ability to try different beers in 2.5 oz sizes, and the food was fantastic.
Not bad, but not that exciting either. It feels more like a family restaurant than a brewery, so I've never found it to be a great place to hang out with friends. They do have the Palladium in the back, so have a beer and check out some of the shows.
Solid Pub food and English-style Ales. This is one of the oldest microbreweries in Seattle, go check it out.
Great place. Great bartender. Great smell from the vats.
I knew we were in for a treat as soon as I opened the door and the aroma of brewing beer wafted over us. The staff was overly welcoming, the menu was explicit and the prices weren't out of sight. We ordered an October IPA and an August IPA. They were great and really hit the spot. The chowder affirmed Lin's new found love for "fareng" food ;) We both also ordered the hickory smoked pork belly and were not disappointed. Lin loves it
My favorite Seattle brewery. Friendly staff. The Mexican food is fantastic.
Great neighborhood pub with upscale, but not pretentious, food. Plus Hales great beers.
Perfect hangout for guys going though a midlife crisis or a Baby Boomer struggling with getting old. Not quite there yet
Cool corner of Ballmont (Ballard-Fremont). Great local crafted beer, for 30+ years!!
Monday night - live music and dancing.
The Palladium is a most awesome magical spot with hillarious plays and awe inspiring Moisture Festival acts.
Stopped in for the first time after visiting the zoo. The bar is beautiful and the staff are super friendly. They have a great selection of house brewed beers on tap, and the food was phenomenal. We live further north, but will absolutely come back! Try their burgers, mine was great!
Rude staff not allowed to take pictures of the inside
Many happy meals consumed here. True pioneers of the craft beer movement. Don t miss a chance to stop in!
Great spot. Fun atmosphere. Fresh beer list and pub food.
Great environment and cool you can see the brewery equipment
Awesome local brewery. Food truck fare in the kitchen. Friendly staff
Huge space is great groups, lounge is great for dates.
Nice place for brunch. Unlike most brewpubs they serve breakfast. Also have guest handles, but you have to ask for a special printout to see the list.
Great beer selection, friendly staff and located next to several other great breweries!
The beer is good but the food is Mexican food truck food
Great food, good service but things are pretty stuffy which tells me this place is for snobs not people who enjoy what beer is about.
Decent beer. The Paladium has some really fun and inventive shows. Well worth checking out.
Best Jerk Sauce in the city! Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Mostly good beers. Some great beers -- try the Nitro Cream Stout, the Harvest Ale, or the Imperial Porter. Finally, if you like Jamaican Jerk Sauce, there is no finer in the city than here. Full-bodied, tangy, and very spicy (made with fresh habanero and serrano peppers). I've turned on about 20 or 25 people over the last twelve years to the jerk sauce, and most fall in love with it too. Try it on the jerk-chicken sandwich, over a salad, or on top of a pizza.
Excellent beer selection, indoor and outdoor areas have great atmospheres and the palladium stage area is a hoot! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely make a return trip.
The palladium is a true gem. Where else can your kids watch a creative performance while you drink a beer. The restaurant simplified their menu not too long ago, and removed much of our favorites. We still try to go every so often, but not as much.
Great beer, comfortable setting and the Moisture Festival!
Good HH and host to the annual Moisture Festival. Great local brewery. El Jefe!
Beer is good. Was not impressed by the food. The French fries were horrible fyi . Decent happy hour deals.
The best thing going for this place is the space and atmosphere.
Not as much atmosphere as other mircobreweries close by. Points for hosting El Camion food truck.
Pretty good beers. The environment was cool (exposed brewing equipment everywhere) and while we were there a painting class was happening so they probably have some interesting events happening. Would check it out again
Hale's Ales, not gonna lie this place holds a very special place for me, my family and I go to see the freemont players there every Christmas, for a British pantomime of an old fairy tale, last time was Cinderella! The beer is great and the staff are always friendly! And if you can go there to see a show too! You will have a blast!
The food is great, the beer is better and it's got great atmosphere! Our go to place when we are in Seattle.
Beer were good. Service was weird. Food was OK. Had service been better, would be 4 stars.
A long time regional brewery with a pub located between Fremont and Ballard. The rotating taps change often enough so you don't get tired of any beer. The food is also good. Try their Cream Ale when you are there.
This was one of our stops on the Road Dog brewery tours. Great beers and good food.
Lots of people are using the term pub food to refer to the horrible fare at this restaurant. However, I've been to the greasiest, hole-in-the-wall places and they typically have much more edible pub fare than Hales. This is a shock to me because a few years ago I ate there and had no issues with it.
I just ate there this afternoon, a few bites of the tasteless, wilted caesar salad and a horrible chicken quesadilla made with the most chalky chicken I've ever tasted and a cheese that must be closer to plastic than dairy quickly ruined my appetite. My wife tried the mushy and tasteless fries and fried fish, which apparently was inedible but then when the fresh tartar sauce was delivered by the server (the first tartar sauce had a hair in it) she ate it since the sauce was good enough to hide the flavor of the fish.
As always, the beer was fine. You won't see me going back to Hales, though, something went wrong at that brewery. If I should find myself back for some reason I'll make sure to eat elsewhere before or after.
Great microbrews, great atmosphere, great service. Give the Cream Ale a try.
I've been here with a large group, eating with the family, and attending the moisture festival. Each time has been a wonderful experience. The beer at Hales has variety and taste. Love their Ntiro tap and their delicious food. Good bar section and separate seating if you're looking for something quieter.
I used to be a regular here, member of the mug club and all the good stuff. Hales was by far my favorite place in Seattle and easily the best burger in town. I would usually visit at least once a week and typically more. I brought friends with me often. I raved about this place all the time. It was PERFECT. Needless to say, I was very apprehensive about the change when one of the bartenders told me it was coming. I hurriedly ate as many bacon and blue cheese burgers as I could in the next two weeks or so because I had a horrible feeling they'd be my last Hales burgers. I knew things were getting bad when prices for everything would be a dollar more every couple weeks and certain food items started disappearing. It sucks to say I sort of felt this coming.
Well, I finally went back this past weekend for the first time since the change and I was completely disappointed to realize my gut was correct. My once favorite place is now a shell of its former self. The mood is absolutely dead, there's no life in the place any more. I didn't recognize one person on the staff. El Camion renting out the kitchen is absolutely nothing compared to the amazing food Hales used to offer. I don't mind bar service and bussing my own stuff, but to me that's not what Hales was about. Hales was a fantastic brewpub with a restaurant and great beer, but now it's just like all the other newer taprooms in Seattle with no energy and no fun. Sadly, I don't see myself coming back ever again. I hope they do well and continue to make great beer, but this isn't the place I fell in love with. Good luck, Hales. I'll still order a Supergoose whenever I see it on tap somewhere.
