Hales used to be a beloved spot before they switched things up with the food and service. El Camion now serves from their kitchen, which is delicious. I highly recommend the food and the beer, but unfortunately for the in house experience I m giving it a 3 star. The pairing of Hales & El Camion in a shared space feels awkward and not ironed out.

You have to order food from the front and then order the beer from the bar, two separate transactions. Walking in for our first time there was no clear signage on how to proceed and the few staff at the lunch hour were not helpful in guiding us through what to expect. It would've be awesome to see some signs or something that spelled out something like welcome in! Order food at the front, hales drinks at the bar and leave the rest for us... or something of that nature to let the customers know what to expect. It wasn t apparent if we should bus our own tables but we didn t see a bin. A young man came eventually and took a dish so I m assuming there s a busser Otherwise, sorry for leaving the mess, haha.

It felt like the hales and el Camion staff were two very separate entities and there didn t appear to be a good flow or marriage perhaps of the two together for our experience.

It s def a huge change from the full service experience you used to get at Hales. Other people who walked in even asked our party how to order and where. I wish the flow of the experience felt more smooth and the businesses together made the in house experience for its customers seamless.
