Guoman & Thistle hotels Review

Stayed before and enjoyed it. This time put in a small room bed so hard and they took my money twice. Not impressed won't go back

Great location, lovely staff, value for money if you like having a large room with full en-suite.

Pictures online looked way newer than the actual in real life. The washroom in the room wasn't that clean and the hallways of the rooms were smelly and darkly lit. Can definitely use some renovations. Check in desk was slow, they have multiple stations but would only have 2 or 3 staff at the check-in desk and hence had to wait a while for processing. At first, I thought it was because we checked-in later in the evening, however the day after when we checked-out in the morning, the same thing, not abundantly staffed and had to wait a while. When going to and from our room, I also noticed people's dishes that were left in the hallway until the next morning and they were STILL there. The location is great, otherwise I would not recommend this place. I'm not sure why this place had good ratings, I was confused after my experience.

Very busy and not alot of staff, dated rooms with a nice view. You can't have it all apparently!

We were on a trip with a coach full of ladies. We arrived early on the train and the staff at the hotel were very helpful, letting us leave our cases, as we were too early to check in. Lovely comfortable rooms and the beds were amazing! Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location great bar with views of Tower Bridge. The place to be to sip a G&T whilst watching boats chug up and down the river. We even saw the bridge open up to let a large boat through.

You know it is pretty good. If you have seen "the sweeney" (1977) it is pretty cool to see the filming locations it is even better !

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it was our forth visit, can't wait to return.

Terrible small rooms, everything in the bathroom doesn't work properly, you have to spend a couple of minutes to make everything work. No sockets near the bed, no place to put a suitcase, air conditioning doesn't work. Some broken doors in the hall. Bad breakfast. Visit here was a complete disaster

The hotel is not a looker from the outside, but wow lovely on the inside! Rooms are comfortable, clean and everything is working! Breakfast selection was fantastic. We had some unexpected drinks sent to our room to help us celebrate the birthdays we were there for, which was a lovely surprise, reasonably priced too.

It is a nice hotel which is located in a good place to get around. You have black cabs outside if you need a taxi and the hotel staff are happy to get it all arranged for you. The rooms are nice with an incredible view of tower Bridge and London and the service is great. Overall, this is a really nice hotel.

Upscale hotel in an amazing location beside the river Thames. Staff all professional and helpful. From the chap on the door to the people serving the food and drinks.
Didn't stay there but attended an event. The facilities were great and the lunch provided was also very good.
I've attended two events here and happy to return.

Brilliant hotel despite what it looks like from the outside. The service was 5 star, the food in the restaurant was really nice. I was disappointed with the breakfast buffet, and I found a mouldy tomato in the salad bar. But, the made to omelette was good. Small gym (more of a fitness room) despite multiple large signs directing you the gym! There were also no plugs by the bed, so phones and hence alarms are across the room.

Problems with the room initially allocated whereby the view on offer was mainly a brick wall, despite paying for a 'view' which was also 10 minutes walk from reception or at least it seemed. This was resolved at reception desk and we were allocated a much nicer room with a view. Room itself feels a bit dated and was at times really hot...not sure the Aircon on offer was up to much. Location of hotel obviously excellent and staff were friendly, although the cleaner did come in twice whilst we had a do not disturb light on .

Very nice hotel and a good view of tower bridge from our room. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast had a large choice available. Close to some of the sights and to transport links to the rest of London.
On the negative ... we didn't get our room cleaned throughout our 2 night stay but it wasn't a huge problem for us. On the whole it was a really great stay in London.

A nice hotel, a bit tricky to find the entrance if you are coming from the tube. Fantastic views of the Tower, Tower bridge and the shard. Nice rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff. We stayed in an executive twin. Three moans. No kettle or tea facilities in room. Just one of those modern coffee machines, no milk sugar or biscuits. I realise most visitors are probably Americans but it is England and we drink tea.
Also the bed was hard and no do not disturb notices for the door. The maid kept ringing to get us up.
So you lost a star because of those three factors.

I popped in for a little drink at lunch time whilst over on a birthday trip. We ended up staying the entire afternoon because the people that work there are welcoming, fun and friendly. The food was delicious and somehow they picked up on it being my birthday so they treated me to a happy birthday slice of desert. It's as elegant atmosphere too with a view of tower bridge. Highly recommended

This place is amazing. Not only is the staff friendly and very helpful they go out their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need!! Big shout out to Jessica (working evening shift) who always knew our names and made us feel at home!! Thanks to Steven for helping us out!! Loved my stay!!

Lovely hotel, comfy, clean beds and very nice bathroom. Staff are all very welcoming and helpful. Wonderful views of Tower Bridge.

Totally exclusive and amazing location. Staff were great, friendly and accommodating and really make you feel like it's a special place to be.

However - The hotel above 1st floor needs a complete overhaul. The hallways and rooms are very tired and dated. Bathroom bordering on dirty just because there's aging stains from use that can be cleaned anymore. The furniture is tired and worn and the decore is from the 80's. It's a great spot and guaranteed footfall because of it fact. But don't take advantage of this reality by compromising on everything and not paying out to make the rest of the place look as good above 1st floor because you don't want to spend the money. Could be a real talked about go to hotel if you did.

Had afternoon tea here on a Thursday afternoon and it was an enjoyable experience! The service was great, the tea was delicious, and the tiers for finger foods were lovely. The desserts were not the greatest but the scones and the sandwiches were excellent!

Nice view from hotel. All staff very kind and helpful. The room a little bit old. Breakfast are good. Not far from underground and Tower of London. You can walk along Themes river bank.

Very very poor hospitality. They can't speak English at all

A pretty crowded hotel - I had to wait for approximately 20 minutes at the check-in queue! The views are stunning - and even though I didn t manage to get a room facing Tower Bridge, I was still impressed with the panorama. The room was quite large and the bed extremely comfortable. I only had a small issue, due to which I give this place 4 stars - long story short, I travelled for business purposes, but there appeared to be some sort of problems when checking in. I had to call my company and tell them to re-send the hotel receptionist a statement demonstrating that the payment for the room has been completed. This is just bureaucracy and it is the hotel s responsibility to take care of it, but somehow I ended up being the middleman . Other than this, everything was great.

A great location & great view from our room,great buffet breakfast

Stayed on the 19th October for a birthday celebration. The hotel is lovely, but seriously let down by staff and management. couldn't get into our room until 4pm we was never told a reason why we were just smiled at and offered an upgrade to executive room, as we had already booked an executive room, the receptionist just went back to smiling. I could go on with lots of other faults, but the main fault is the staff and management who just stand about doing nothing and when you ask a question they have no idea.
