Excellent hotel, especially with a bridge and river view! Nice design although does look a bit dated both inside and out. The breakfast is a good quality buffet or brought to the room with lots of choice available. Bar is nice but pricy as expected. Just missing the finishing touches to make it perfect.
Made to queue for everything, from check ins, breakfast through to check outs. Some staff are just there standing but did not really help even when they see the queues are so long. Rooms are a bit dated as well. No USB plugs. No bars. A tad overpriced for the offering.
Service was excellent .breakfast was good.I was disappointed with the room as the beds seem far too soft.i woke up with backache
A very beautiful panorama
My boyfriend and I wanted to spend a romantic evening in central London and so we booked one night at the Tower Hotel. The hotel room and facilities were well kept, comfortable and clean. We spent a quality stay, but I would not recommend paying too high a price for the rooms because I did not find anything exceptional. The best feature of the hotel is the location, overlooking the beautiful Tower Bridge. For those who have never been to London, Tower Bridge is magnificent at night when fully illuminated
Everything was PERFECT! The view , the room , the hotel was close to tower hill underground. we had a perfect holiday , thank you
A wonderful hotel to stay at! The location is great lying next to the Tower Bridge and very close to The Tower of London. Tower Hill has always been my favorite area in London, so staying here was just amazing for me. People at the reception are very kind and helpful, making you feel very welcome from the start. (Especially Steve) The Breakfast was very nice but very busy at all times. The restaurant was lovely, serving great food and at the Xi-bar you can drink wonderful not to pricy cocktails (be sure to try the 'Born to be British' with Beefeater Gin) I recommend this hotel to everyone who loves to stay in the Tower Hill area. I really enjoyed my stay and I'll definitely be back next time!
Went to view as a possible wedding reception venue, stayed and had drinks and lunch. Staff polite, courteous. Hotel very clean and an amazing view of tower bridge. Will defo be having reception there and will visit again.
Very nice hotel in general. Great location and very good services. The booking price was better than its peers around.
Room extremely comfortable. Bar prices a little expensive.
Room was a little outdated, no electricity/USB outlets near the beds, no washcloths are provided in the bathroom.. but that seemed to be a European thing. Was unable to get the Heater/Air conditioner to work at anytime, but the weather was beautiful and didn't really need either one.. Over all, a wonderful clean room, with a fantastic view of the Tower bridge. Definitely would stay again!
Best hotel to view the Tower Bridge. Best to request for the river view rooms and on the high floors10+. It will be a little bit more expensive, but it is worth it. The restaurant in the hotel are pretty good too.
This hotel is in great location, our room had a great view of St Katherines Dock and the lock into the Thames.
Our only gripe was the service at "in the Vacinity" bar outside. Service was very slow with some parts by the river closing around 21:00, when it would have been nice to site here for a drink.
This hotel is in such a great location in London, we couldn t have picked a better spot. I got put on the 4th floor facing the marina on the backside of the hotel. Initially I wanted to face the Tower Bridge but my mind quickly changed. The marina was peaceful and quiet and we could keep our window open without any noise. The rooms are a bit dated but are well kept and clean. The housekeeping staff were very friendly.
Very lovely, the cream tea was excellent, unfortunately one of our tea cups was chipped. Trying to explain that to people who's first language isn't English was pointless. The view over the dock was superb.
Very well located. The building outside is not so cool but the view on the bridge is spectacular. It seams you have a painting behind the curtain. Fabulous. The room is not so special, but big enough. The hall is not so elegant but quite good. I stayed here twice
Lovely place to stay. Great views both front and rear. Brilliant breakfast for a reasonable price. Highly recommended.
Food on first night was highly enjoyable.
Breakfast on Easter Saturday to.
Our room was adequate but most of the TV channels did not work. The bathroom needs attention to in many areas.
Sunday morning was a huge let down. If I wanted to enjoy an English it would have been on cold plates rather than trying a continental. No one was checking in and we could have been anyone.
With the tower of London nearby no discount offered if you wanted to visit it. The prices are very high.
The hotel can be five star but I'd rate it three. Its had a lovely make over in reception and corridors.
When we left on Sunday no effort was made to ask if we needed any help. No English person would be inspired to either work in hospitality industry or the hotel trade.
There is more. On Saturday there was an Indian wedding. Come the evening the party had gone yet they were still having signs up in foyer greeting guests. No one was keeping tabs on what was happening.
We also bring our own tea bags to any hotel but the tea and coffee facilities in room are poor.
The hotel is in a perfect location but it's a shame it doesn't match up to four stars. Would you eat hot food at breakfast on cold plates??
Come on I want improvements before I visit again.
Very large bland hotel functionally decorated but a great location and amazing views from my room over the Thames and Tower Bridge. Generously sized room, temperature is fine and not noticeably noisey even sleeping with the window open. Breakfast is very average.
Nice place, great view. Unfortunately our tower bridge view which we paid for was obscured by trees but after contacting the hotel manager we were refunded the difference of price between a view room and a standard.
How can you not love this hotel with that view of tower bridge and St. Catherine's dock?
Great hotel to launch your journey into the heart of London!!
Great hotel right on the riverside. Some of the rooms are a little dated, but the views are incredible and with such easy access to the City of London, Tower of London and the Thames river walk it's worthwhile staying. Breakfast can get extremely busy and is not the best I've had but the hotel bar and restaurant were good and all the staff very friendly and helpful.
Good value, good breakfast, we had great views of the bridge
Not an attractive building from the outside but very nice inside.
Staff very friendly especially in the executive lounge and in the gallery at breakfast.
The hotel is in a great spot right next to tower bridge and at Katherine Dock with plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance, the outside area next to the river is a good place to sit with a drink and watch life on the Thames.
Would stay again.
Just for enjoying the Tower bridge view in the room. I don't need any other reasons.
Great service, good pricing and very good rooms and amenities. Cracking views from the rooms. I regularly stay at this hotel when working in London its usually my first choice.
Good location, stunning views. Great breakfast. Rooms are comfortable.
Great hotel. Great location. Great service and the food was good.
Whoever is rating this place highly hasn't stayed at a decent hotel recently, obviously. Mediocre, outdated accommodations located next to a noisy tourist trap. This place is astoundingly overpriced for what it is. A Best Western on the side of a highway in Nebraska achieves more than this property. Poor maintenance. No climate control in a hot concrete building shaped like a bunker. Internet barely works. Lazy staff. We've been moved to 5 different rooms because each time we report an issue they relocate us to a room that is even worse. It is truly remarkable how terrible this place is and how incompetent and uncaring the staff are.
The location is very hood but the decor needs some TLC. Cracked basin in the bathroom, chipped furniture is very good. Front of house staff are excellent though
We reserved a room with this hotel but card was declined, we were then emailed to ask to provide another credit card and i said i would phone to provide these details.
Hotel emailed back saying they could not take card details over the phone and would email us a form to complete to secure reservation. 4 hours later i am emailed to say that booking has been cancelled. This was part of a birthday present to my girlfriend so thank you ever so much for messing up that weekend. You're a shambles.
We just had the best stay at the Tower Hotel! Comfortable beds, delicious breakfast and staff that truly went above & beyond! I would highly recommend it!
A great location, with a stunning view of the Thames. Excellent service, but the hotel is a bit worn around the edges, and in need of updating.
Old rooms need refurbishment. Long queues for an average breakfast. Nothing special. Only plus is location.
Excellent banqueting hall, with great views for Tower Bridge and The River Thames.
Friendly staff and great location. Rooms were comfortable I d recommend a view facing the river. The breakfast was really good.
My wife and I went on a minimoon, it was great. The staff where very friendly and welcoming and it was reasonable priced and it was easy to get to. We are planning to go again for our 1st wedding anniversary .
Excellent service, great great location: wonderful views of the Thames and Tower Bridge at the front or the canal development with walkways and restaurants at the rear. I only wished I'd rung ahead to state I couldn't climb into a bath. The food was great too, breakfast and evening meal.
Very comfortable and very nice view to the river....and the London Bridge.
Located in a fabulous location, the view on the bridge is spectacular. The rooms are average at best. The food and the services is good as well.
What I like the most about this place is the view. Unbeatable. You are basically sitting in front of Tower Bridge, on the north eastern side of the river. The bar has outdoor seating area, nicely set. Drinks and food are on the high side end side (price wise) but it s worth. All I pay for at the end of the day is the location. Walk two minutes and you ll be at the entrance of the Tower of London. Nearest tube station is Tower Hill on district and circle lines.
Nice enough hotel with a good view of either the Thames or St Katherine's marina. They could do with sorting out their check in procedure, which has left me queueing every time I've visited.
A stunning hotel situated on the river Thames with views of Tower Bridge. A great place to eat and drink. It also has a number of function rooms to cater for parties, meetings get togethers.
Beautiful spot. Lovely views and very courteous service.
Stunning views of the iconic bridge and the shard, excellent service, wide bedroom windows. Beautiful all round
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, room needs redecorating so only four stars from me.
Nice room and nice decorations globally look recent.
Big restaurant room for breakfast a bit crowded in the morning.
Some waiting for check out in the morning
Great views of the bridge, fantastic staff and also a great Banquetitng suite for events.
A very nie Place to stay. Very friendly Staff. Close to Attraction. With a Room in direction Tower Bridge you will have a Breath taking View
Clean friendly hotel. Lovely location. Lovely front desk staff. Was lively to be given a bottle of wine and some chocolates as a surprise for our wedding anniversary.
Tired small rooms in desperate need of modernisation and so expensive for what you get. Many many better options nearby
Stayed here for the second time and have to say some good and bad points. generally a good experience, friendly staff, room with a great view, breakfast good. However one major negative, the bedding was dirty, actually it has a blood stain on it and whats worse is i had to ask twice to have the bedding changed before it was done. i genuinely like the hotel but now worry about the housekeeping standards
Amazing view, brilliant location, even better cocktails
The hotel on its own is probably as it states a 4 star hotel however, due to the amazing staff that helped out with some complex room changes and card trouble for a group of us. View is amazing and rooms are good :) very happy.
We had afternoon tea here whilst visiting the capital; it's was a very smart restaurant with excellent food and service. The views of Tower Bridge make it a memorable stop.
Great location. Very large riverside hotel. Bedrooms OK but a little dated and showing signs of many refurbishes. Breakfast OK and quite efficient BUT very busy around the 9am period. Recommended if you want a hotel in this area of London. 10 mins walk to Tower Hill underground.
It touts itself as a 4/5 star hotel. The room was only slightly larger than a broom closet. The double bed cannot be accessed on both sides and there inst room for two open suit cases. It is dated, old and harsh and the staff although eager to up-sell to an "executive suite" offer little in terms of empathy. NO elevators to the car park! No air conditioning. What a horrible experience.
Amazing location, awesome views, comfortable and clean, will definitely stay here again.
If you book a room with a view this is something very related of what you get. Installations are old and the hotel urge of a renovation. Besides that staff it's friendly and kind. This is the view from the breakfast room. Good location if you want to spot this beautiful bridge.
All about the location. Right bang in London Town. Rooms very nice and breakfast very good. This is the view from the front of the hotel
A good standard hotel in a beautifully positioned place. We have found a bedroom that looks straight onto Tower Bridge. We have stayed there several times. The only downside is the restaurant for breakfast. Cramped and unattractive.
Stunning view of Tower Bridge. Room was average, bed firm but comfortable. Hotel staff are polite. However... breakfast is a stressful challenging experience with queues for tables and food starting early. Xi bar - Often bar staff add their own tips to your bill without asking. Same experience in the coffee bar on the ground floor.
Rooms a bit dated and tired. Lifts slow and 2 not working. Breakfast pretty good with nice views.
My fave hotel in London. Nice and quiet. Great location. Recommend run or walk over the bridge and along South Bank.
Really nice place. Foods great. Lovely views. Definitely recommend
Inside is better than the outside, but in an iconic place.
Fantastic location in London and great value and service
We stayed in a bridge view room and it was awesome!! Had some difficulties getting in to the room..but reception staff sorted it out!! Nice hotel
We stayed at The Tower for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was a gift from my employer for 30 years of service. The room had a Tower Bridge view and we weren't disappointed when we saw it. The room itself was well decorated, clean and warm. However it got too warm and the heating was impossible to regulate ourselves. In the end we had to get concierge to kill it at the main switch (which was in a locked cupboard in the corridor). Also the TV had limited 'mono' channels and therefore after a long day of sight seeing there was nothing to unwind too as there was no sound. Thank goodness for a good book and an excellent view. The breakfast was good and having an omelette chef on hand is always a winner for us. Word of warning though, don't leave the table to get more food together as the tables are cleared and reset for the next guests even if there are clearly two full pots of tea and untouched juice sitting there. A problem easily solved with more tea and juice but a tad annoying nonetheless. The Tower Hotel experience was a pleasant one but had it not been for the view we would have felt differently. Our one time stay ...
The bed is very very very soft. Not for someone that might need a firm mattress.Either the hotel or the entire city must have plumbing problems. You need to like pump, pump, and pump 3 times hold the handle in place to get some flushing pressure. Really strange. Other than that break fast is good, the staff is friendly. The location is good.
Perfect location - literally next to the iconic Tower Bridge and footsteps away from London Bridge station and Tower Hill underground. The hotel may look grey/old on the outside but the interior is cosy, well maintained and luxury-looking.
My stay was in Oct 2020 for 2 nights. I originally booked for a standard double room with Tower Bridge view but was upgraded at check-in to an executive room (nicer furniture/bathroom and has a Nespresso machine). The view from my window was FANTASTIC.
Staff were polite, efficient and attentive.
Breakfast was good (not too wow). There is a Tesco Express and a small Starbucks next door.
OVERALL, I would definitely come back here and would recommend this place to people who look for convenience and comfort/luxury with a reasonable price.
Great stay for Mrs' birthday London trip. Brill views of the Tower and Tower Bridge too.. Hotel a bit busy with Xmas parties and restraunt was closed at night..
The hotel does show its age in some places but MY GOD THE VIEW! Well worth the extra expense for a bridge-side standard (at least) room! As other reviewers have mentioned, THE VIEW! Easy access to the tube. Across the way from the Tower of London, steps away from the Tower Bridge, awesome location. Really enjoyed the Xi lounge as well as a delicious full English breakfast / fry-up even though I missed the opportunity to have black pudding with it.
Stayed here for our 40th wedding anniversary as a gift from family. Was told check in was 2 o/c room was not available until 3 30. Disappointed. However, the young man on reception was very helpful
Very handy - lovely views - ok food - rooms a bit small but fine
Love clean hotel, friendly staff that upgraded us for free because it was our 1st wedding anniversary, beautiful view of Tower Bridge and the shard
Nice hotel that overlooks the London Bridge, but may not be worth the price for some. Rooms were small but clean. It's about 10 mins walk from Tower Hill station if you cut through the park path, but it closes at night, so you have to go around. In the cold, damp London weather, it's definitely not a pleasant walk and feels a lot longer. There is underground paid parking at the hotel but I don't recommend big vehicles if you're not comfortable with tight, narrow spots.
Great loved it there . had the breakfast in bed which was great but if you have it clear the side slit turns up and the concierge was very helpful
Great location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Hotel bar staff are fantastic.
Pleasant stay. Lovely clean room with a beautiful view. Staff were friendly and very professional. I will definitely be returning in the near future
Great hotel with a perfect view towards the Docks and from the bar towards the Tower Bridge. Ideal location for work or as a tourist
Excellent Hotel and Fabulous Staff and in the middle of the cith
The room was lovely. Concierge very knowledgeable about what is going on around the area. Breakfast was also good and the staff were helpful.
However there was mildew in the bathroom that had not been attended too.
We booked it with a travelocity package. We knew it was going to be a basic room but, we werent expecting it to barely be big enough for us and our luggage. Wow, we actually referred to it as our hobbit hole. When I asked about getting a bigger room, they were extremely rude. In fact, most people working at the desks (front and consierge) were very rude and looked down their noses at you. The gate on the pier that connects to other restaurants is, conveniently locked at dinner time. The fancy bar is the only one open in the evening. You get to pay double for a cocktail there. We went into town to be treated right and not be ripped off. Breakfast was very good and the workers there were polite. In the end, we spent so little time there that it was fine and we laughed about it. Besides, location is wonderful and it was clean
Met friends who were staying here, had a lovely time, not to noisy if you want to chat, bit pricey but it is a hotel I suppose.
Perfect location! Just next to the better end of Tower Bridge, in vicinity of many tourist attractions (Tower Hill, Gherkin, etc...). Appreciated large SMART LED TV in room and view from it. Positive criticism: It is visible that there is quite some time since last renovation. It takes a lot time to get in ground floor by elevator. Same during meals. Spare at least 40 minutes to have a breakfast.
