Wonderful views paired with interesting history and charisma. Awesome!
This historic hotel is absolutely stunning. We were in Asheville for a short trip and just dropped by the hotel to check it out. The view is out of this world and there is so much history here. I look forward to going back and spending a long weekend.
Beautiful lobby. The fireplaces are outdone only by the amazing views.
The Grove Park Inn has everything - beauty, great service, amenities. We stayed in a king room on the fifth floor, had drinks on the terrace, and breakfast in the Blue Ridge restaurant. Everything was wonderful! I was skeptical of the hype, but it lived up to it in every way.
Went to see the gingerbread house expo the hotel is beautiful and the views amazing. The only downfall is the hilly hike from where we parked.
Beautiful place. Lits of interesting history associated with it.
Amazing, beautiful and so worth the money and time.
My favorite!! Such a great place and the bation's best spa. The scenery is breathtaking. The hotel is history.
The Grove Park Inn is one of the most magical places I have ever visited! While I haven't stayed here, I have spent some time eating and shopping here and everything is incredible. Every window you go to has a picturesque scene outside and the accommodations are great. I have had breakfast and dinner here and the buffets and specials are magnificent. An incredible place to go.
This is based on a stay with the Thanksgiving package.
The Grove Park Inn has breathtaking views, wonderful ambiance, and very welcoming lobby with so many guests just sitting by the fire. Many (not all) of the daily activities are for additional costs.
The spa is nice and relaxing... Can spend a day there and go in and out.
If you're looking for luxurious room accommodations, that is where the smoke fades and the mirrors appear.
Rooms in the "main inn", resemble a motel... Seriously! But I guess they do warn you of what to expect by calling it an inn.
The room was small, the bathroom is tiny with no tub and a small oval mirror that is hung on a string, (also hung at a height for individuals who are 5'6" and below;) no counter space... I can go on. At this price point, you do not get what you pay for at the Main Inn... Unless you want a small, dated, rustic cramped room.
For the price they are charging to stay here, they should at least notify guests that there are other more modern room options.... Specifically, the Vanderbilt wing and the Sammons wing are better.
Now that I think about it the reason why the lobby is so occupied, it may be that those are the unfortunate patrons who got placed in the main inn and have no option but to sit in the lobby until it's time to sleep.
Beautiful, magical place with a world class spa, lots of delicious dining options, and breathtaking views of Asheville and the surrounding mountains.
Love the main building, the history and architecture. Our room had a nice view of the golf course, but other than that, nothing too special.
Went for brunch - the view was nice but a little bland (just a golf course and mountains way off in the distance), but the food was great.
Amazing Historic Hotel/Resort the Spa is Beyond Impressive, this is a 5 Star + property and you will Pay accordingly
I have stayed at the Grove Park Inn for over 40 years and have been treated like royalty until Omni purchased the property from the Sammon family. But, there are a few issues that come to mind for recent stays:
1. Our room was always ready before 1pm and the reservation was always correct. (Not accommodating)
2. The spa could be reserved prior to arrival and you didn t need to go to the spa at 10am to sign up for the day (inconvenient)
3. Both fireplaces in the lobby had real logs burning in the winter.
4. The person at checkout had flexibility to make a decision to accommodate a guests desires.
5. The valets were very polite and made us feel welcome. (They are cold and perform their duty like a robot with no emotion)
The Grove Park Inn needs to have the southern, genteel feeling that made this a unique and wonderful stay
I did not stay in this hotel.
I ate the Friday night dinner at blue ridge restaurant.
If you are within 100 miles of this place you have got to check it out
The mountain views, food, staff, and atmosphere is absolutely perfect.
A little over the top !! Atmosphere amazing. Wonderful views.
It is very sunny if you go before sunset. The food is very good. The view is beautiful. The tables are close together.
This is one of those places in Asheville that you have to visit whether you decide to spend the night or not. The view from the main patio in the lobby area is 1 of the best in Asheville. Food at the restaurant is fabulous and it's just a great experience. You can get valet parking but it is $30 per day, reguardless of how long you stay whether it's 2 hours or 24. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and I'm glad that I made the stop before my adult children and I to enjoy along with their fabulous gingerbread house and hot chocolate. Again, don't miss it if you're in the Asheville area.
Staff is great. However the rooms are a little dated especially in the older sections of the hotel with strange, quirky layouts. The spa is very nice albeit over crowded on weekends. The sunsets are very nice and the vistas from the rear of the resort are marvelous. Food and drinks are pricey here. Good place to visit but would think twice about staying here.
Wonderfully place. Absolutely beautiful view, fantastic resort hotel with a staff to match.
Really cool place to look around, we just drove up and parked and walked in and looked around for a few hours. Really cool view, hotel like you've never seen before
Great place to relax. Love the mountain views and reading all of the historic facts about the hotel. The spa is great, but pricey - about to the point that it's cost prohibitive.
I was lied to from the beginning about being able to get access to everything in the resort. I was told on the phone my son was going to be able to go to spa but that was a lie. Terrible service.
My sixty five year old grandmother suffered here!
She was constantly assaulted by the manager, Nicole Watson who told her to go to another hotel if she was unhappy. Due to the fact she requires a tub to bathe.
Terrible
The Hotel is decorated for Christmas. Apart from being a magnificent building
What is there to say, it earned all those stars. Got lost here several times but who cares, it's such a nice place to be.
Views are fantastic. Beautiful surroundings. Nothing not to like, but you pay for it.
Had the best time celebrating my husbands birthday. The hotel and amenities are gorgeous and the staff is so helpful and welcoming!
Great property and great location. The staff is very friendly and the restaurants are wonderful. Truly a great experience. The spa is unforgettable.
Went there for a night cap cocktail and just to see the place since we were staying in a B&B closer to downtown. The parking is ridiculously expensive, but the atmosphere inside the lobby is great. Huge fireplaces and live music. I don't think I'd pay to go back, but I hear that sunset is amazing.
Very fun place to see! The view is incredible. A very cool place to see at Christmas time with the gingerbread houses
Cool place to spend a few hours walking around, even if you aren't staying at the hotel.
This is a beautiful place to sit and have a drink while overlooking a great golf course and the mountains. We did have a little bit of an issue with some yellow jackets but nothing that would keep me away.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were gorgeous and the staff was polite and helpful. I would have stayed longer if I could have.
Beautiful venue and a must see for anyone visiting Asheville
Good food, nice rooms, and the lounge is nice with the massive fireplace makes it feel cozy and warm.
My husband and I went to go look at the gingerbread houses on my birthday but because it was a Friday evening we were not allowed in because we were not guests. If u plan on going and are not a guest DON'T GO ON A WEEKEND!
Came to see the gingerbread display. Was not as many house as I anticipated becuase a just top 10 were displayed. Also it was super crowded.
Absolutely a beautiful place especially at Christmas.
Nice place but $25.00 TO SELF PARK YOUR CAR. Will never return. Thiefs.
I absolutely love, love ,love the Grove Park. My husband and I were there this past Saturday. What a beautiful day it was. Sitting on the patio which looks out onto the mountains, was fabulous. I do how ever have a complaint. Grove Park needs to improve their cocktails. When I spend $14.00 for a Moscow Mule, I do expect it to be just as fabulous as my surroundings. Not so much. A Moscow Mule should have "real ginger" beer. This cocktail was weak and rather flavorless. I have had this sort of experience at the Grove Park in the past (before the Omni took over). So perhaps the powers that may be could improve upon this???
Crowded but very nice. Has lost the rustic appeal since Omni acquired it.
Beautiful place but could help notice how few rich, white people were wearing masks. I guess the priveleaged don't get sick.
This was a fantastic get-a-way for our anniversary. Rustic and treated like royalty. On site spa, fabulous restaurants and fantastic views.
The service and staff were amazing. From the guy who waves as you pull in to the valets. Awesome!!?
This historic hotel is in great need of remodeling. It's a beautiful property offering gorgeous views but everything is outdated and the rooms feel old and musty.
Scenery is breathtaking, staff very friendly, antiquated hotel with modern amenities, family friendly, food options were great
A great location, close to downtown Asheville with magnificent views of the mountains and downtown. The transition to a Omni property is complete and a number of improvements have been made, especially the restaurants which are very good.
A very beautiful resort! The views are unlike any I've ever seen and the quality of the rooms, the staff, and the food are top notch. Would absolutely go again.
Beautiful architecture, great restaurant options, amazing scenery, and very friendly staff.
During the holidays be sure to see the gingerbread competition
The service, location and the quality of the food. Also, the place i got engaged
Great spot with amazing service. Best stay in Asheville.
Oh my....luxuriating in their world class spa. Romantic drinks by the enormous fireplace in the great hall.
Wow
A very pleasant night's stay in a beautiful and historic setting. The complimentary provision of a scooter for my mobility problems and a bottle of wine and candy in our room since we were celebrating my wife's birthday were greatly appreciated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
This place is beautiful, but when you book a stay you expect to be able to use the amenities. One employee told me, you need to make reservations for everything when you book your stay. First time customers do not know this and no information is given at check in. This was a gift and we had $625 worth of gift cards to use. We had to provide our own credit card upon check in. Our room key would not work for charges and we had to use our credit card. We asked at service desk if these would be put on our bill and if we could use our gift cards. We were told we could but at check out we couldn't. Not very good customer service sinceu it was a clinch on your part.
One of the premiere hotels in the country. Has something for everyone, a world class spa, golf course, work out area, restaurants and a fabulous view. We stayed in the original part of the hotel, which was a treat. A must stay at, when visiting Ashville and the Biltmore.
The service was very good and the view was amazing!
My husband and I stayed at Grove Park inn last weekend. We were very unimpressed with the facility. While the views are amazing, nothing else about the stay made us want to return. It all started on Thursday when we went to the spa. I had made reservations for one 80 minute facial at 230 and one 50 minute massage at 345. Due to the time overlap, my husband was originally going to do the massage and I was going to do the facial. However, he decided he wanted me to do them both and he was going to leave the spa. I asked the concierge if this would be okay. She discussed with her supervisor and then returned and told me "That is fine if yall want to make that switch but your massage will be cut short due to the overlap. It will be more like 30 minutes instead of 50. As long as your husband is leaving, it's fine, but if he wishes to stay, you will have to purchase a day pass." She then told me I didn't have to let her know right then for me to take some time and talk it over with my husband and just let the front desk know what I decided. We went and ate lunch and talked and decided to make the switch. When I went to notify the front desk, the lady said, "Well the supervisor that was here is gone, so the new one will have to check the notes in the computer and then come speak with you." My husband was already back in the locker room at this point changing clothes as he planned to leave the spa since we were making the switch. The supervisor, a young gentleman (named Brandon I believe) came out and informed me that we would not be able to make the switch without purchasing an additional day pass. I even pointed out the concierge who spoke with the first supervisor and relayed the information to me. Without speaking to her or asking her what happened, he insisted no that he would not allow us to make the switch without purchasing an additional day pass even though my husband was leaving the spa. Considering we already made over $400 for the massage and facial, I was not willing to pay an additional $85 for a day pass. This place does not have good customer service and for the amenities you receive, it is way overpriced. We will not be back.
Spectacular service. Love the rooms in the original section. Great meal on Sunset Terrace with best server we've had anywhere - Brian. Best massage I've ever had - 80 minutes deep tissue with Matthew. 3rd visit, look forward to returning soon, experiencing spa pools in cooler weather.
Nice...
But way overpriced for the amenities.
Gouging the wealthy
Stayed in places that nice at half the price...
In the Mountains!
Beautiful place. Staff is excellent and check in/check out was super fast. The food is excellent.
Stopped in for a couple hours to take in the views of Asheville & grab very tasty sandwiches at The Edison. Parking is free for the 1st 3 hours so really no reason not to visit at least once every season, since we live here.
One of my favorite places to visit, the views are incredible and the brunch is fabulous!!
Service is awesome, food was not as good as normal seems like the place is starting to go down and the prices are going up!!
Went for the Sunset Terrace restaurant. Amazing grounds, would love to stay here and experience everything that's available to do. Particularly liked the rocking chairs in front of the giant fireplaces!
My Daughter and I dined at the Blue Ridge Christmas Eve. I must say we are very disappointed. We frequent the Blue Ridge restaurant throughout the year. Unfortunately there was nothing GRAND about our $70.00 meal on Christmas Eve that was different from any other experience we have had there. The Staff is always outstanding, but the food was not.
The Grove Park Inn was a gorgeous venue with wonderful scenery. Our stay was very tranquil and relaxing. The Gingerbread displays were wonderful and our breakfast was very good.
