After over 25 years of enjoying the tradition of observing the gingerbread competitors work and accepting the outrageous $20 parking fee over the past several years we are finally told that we are no longer able to even participate in that activity. How special that the Omni perceives itself as so removed from the riff raff! Merry Christmas to the elites!

Top notch service and amenities at this one of a kind hotel steeped in charm and history. Wonderful memories of getting engaged here 27 yrs ago as well. The lobby is a fantastic hangout spot at night.

Amazing property with breathtaking views! Would recommend this resort for families to visit year round! The resort offers many amenities from an indoor pool, to hiking, to on-site tours. You can take a break and breathe in the mountain air in front of the fire in the main building...enjoyed this with my morning cup of coffee! The resort is located just minutes from amazing restaurants in Asheville as well. The Biltmore is not more than 10 minutes drive. My family and I loved our stay!

My husband and I visited Asheville for a wedding. We stayed at the Grove Park Inn, and we had amazing experience. The service was excellent, and we especially loved the piano bar downstairs. All the attendants were wonderful and accommodating. We had one small glitch, but Shea who is a manager at GPI resolved our issue quickly. We will definitely stay at the GPI next time we visit Asheville.

First time there. We went for the buffet... Which was pretty good. I expected a bit more for $44 a person though (those are Vegas buffet prices... and Vegas buffets are much better. Overall good experience and polite staff.

I can't say enough of so many things about this fabulous hotel, love the suites and its like staying in a mountain top hideaway. I love the bathrooms with its huge tubs and bath robes and so much room and the beds are so very comfortable and beyond soft and its so hard to get up the next morning, its like you want to stay in bed all day!The breakfast is so much more than other hotels in what they call breakfast! Love the quite and peaceful hotel, where you can really get some good rest and be productive the next day. The spa's here have the best service in North Carolina.
The staff are great and always there to assist in anyway!!!!

Always a great place to take out of town visitors, especially if you take advantage of the cheaper activities like enjoying a drink on one of the terraces above the spa. Great day and night views of downtown and the mountains beyond from here. Picture is looking back toward the inn from the terrace.

Great historic place with interesting architecture but big resort (Omni) pretty much took it down. $10 for parking is a rip. Restaurants are not like they used to be. Personalized small-boutique style shopping is gone. Highly disappointed. Pretty much offering a Wyndham type experience as opposed to a unique mountain resort. Sorry GPI, rest in peace.

This place is amazing. I was there before Christmas and my suite had a Christmas Tree, high ceilings and a beautiful stained glass window. They were also getting ready for the gingerbread house competition.
Definitely do the walking tour if you have time, and the piano bar is a must. I didn't get to the spa, so I can't comment on that.
The history, atmosphere and architecture are engrossing.

The Grove Park Inn has been a place of escape for me for many years. The entire experience was great, from check in to check out. My only complaint would be our spa experience, which was the whole purpose of our trip. There was a conference going on and it seemed as though a lot more people knew each other than my previous time there, which resulted in a lot more high-volume talking, drinking, and not respecting others around. In my previous visits there, I noticed more of a presence of a manager on duty walking the areas to ensure there were no electronics and loud voices. I live a block away from Broadway in Nashville, TN. I can party any day of the week. This trip was to get away from that scene and enjoy the peace and quiet. Unfortunately due to inconsiderate guests, our spa experience did not live up to the expectation I had from previous visits. However, the staff, food, and experience as a whole throughout the resort was great.

This place is beautiful and everything you thought it would be. We are lunch on the outside terrace on a cold afternoon. They have heaters that work great. Food was awesome and NOT overpriced! A must see while in Ashevile!

Excellent facility and services. The room and view were incredible, and the staff was as friendly as they could possibly have been. We arrived mid snowstorm and almost an hour early for check in, but they got us in without any trouble!
The only negative I might add, is they offered ev parking, all of those spaces were taken by non-ev cars and there was no plug present even if one of the spaces was available. Another garage on the opposite side of the building did offer plugs and they got us settled there easily, however.

Historic hotel, national register of historic places. Beautiful views of the blue ridge mountains. World class spa, nice golf course, great bars and restaurants.
The grove park has it all.
Great wedding venue as well.

Disappointed to say the least. This was my lowest rated hotel that our association conference has had in 10 years. The senior Omni Grove staff should take lessons from their elevator staff. They were helpful, cordial and engaging and it didn't matter what time of the day it was!

If you think that just because something is expensive that it is luxurious then this is the place for you. Rooms are big yet sparsely decorated with old heavily worn furniture that Salvation Army would think twice about accepting. The views, exterior, and common areas are nice. The food was decent at Sunset Terrace but a $400 dinner for two really should leave more of an impression in my opinion. My advice is to spend your money elsewhere in Asheville, there are plenty of better accomodations and certainly better places to eat at a fraction of the cost.

For the astonishing prices you spend to stay at this hotel, I was not as impressed as I should have been. The hotel is a magnificent site, placed in the bussoms of the mountains. The views were breath taking but that where the magic starts to fade. The staff although very friendly and nice seemed very overworked. Garbage is left in the hallways for hours, and although the rooms are clean, you just don't feel you getting your money's worth at close to $600/night. For that price you would think guests would get the works but that's not the case. The hotel nits and picks with huge fees. If you want to participate in activities, there's a fee. If you're hungry be prepared to drop a huge fee or price to eat. The hotel itself has 3 parts for the guest to stay. They initially put us in a room at the main inn. I immediately balked at how small and uncomfortable it felt. The bathroom were tiny, the room tiny, i couldn't even for in the shower, I had to get out. They then moved me to a room in the more recently updated wing of the hotel ( Sammons) and it was a bit more spacious but a bit far out from where all the activities are being held. The hotel is stipped in history and have served as a resting place for many stars and even presidents of the United States. With all of that it i will say it's a good experience to have but nothing that draws loyalty for me to come back.

I have traveled globally, and this is the best hotel I visit.... right in my own backyard (1 1/2 hours away)!! Walking into the lobby is breathtaking, and the service is impeccable. We have stayed many times, and it is always the same experience. We love the Vanderbilt wing, the Friday night Seafood Buffet and lunch at Edison's. Make reservations for dinner on the Sunset Terrace at whatever time sunset is for the season. It will not disappoint, but you have to make a reservation well in advance for this time. We, unfortunately, did not have time for the Spa this visit, but it is hands-down the best Spa I have ever been to in the world. Hanging in the salt water pool is worth the price of any service.

Fantastic! The only reason why I'm rating the Omni Grove a 4 is because when we initially arrived, they put us in the main building which was loud and a bit chilly due to poor insulation. Once we called downstairs and expressed our concerns, we were promptly relocated to a newer wing of the hotel. The rest of our 5 night stay was superb! Food, service, and the view was simply impeccable! We will be returning soon!

We visited Omni Grove Park inn Ashville, NC for the first time the last week of July 2020 when our original vacation plans had to be cancelled due to covid transportation restrictions. The hotel is absolutly beatiful with a magestic quality and stunning view. We were promptly greeted by a friendly valet who was very helpful in telling us the procedures for checking in and getting to where we needed to go first when we pulled up. Checking in was easy and quick even with how busy they were. This was a romantic get-a-way for me and my husband so we opted for the premiere mountain view room which had a very large window with a king size bed but i was disappointed by how small the bathroom was. only one of us could be in there at a time. Due to limited appointments we were unable to book massages for ourselves so we opted to do the Spa day pass which lasted from 10am-6pm. This turned out to be the most wonderful and publicly romanticly intimate experiences we have ever had. We enjoyed the spa so much more than we would have an hour long massages. No electronics allowed so we ran to Barnes & Nobles at 9am before hand. We alternated from hot tub waterfalls to the cool mineral pools. Relaxed in between by reading, taking a nap, and was able to grab us a drink & sandwich at the marketplace to bring back with us. Our favorite part of our trip was sitting on the sunset terrance around 3PM to have drinks and a cheese or meat board. Although it was the end of July it was not too hot. Unfortunalty due to covid one of the resturants was not open so we ended up going downtown for dinner once, other than that we would have been happy to be at the Omni our whole stay. The staff we very friendly and helpful. Check out was super easy, I recieved an email to check out and aso got a itimized bill by email. We would love to go back when everything opens up completly.

So disappointed it was our anniversary the seafood buffet was not at all like the pictures the oysters looked like they had been cut out of the shell I couldn't believe they put them out like that the food was not real hot except the Crab legs that's mostly the best of our meal the dessert was not great it looked like what you get a Ryan's Red lobster is better but that's not saying much for a 5 stars and what we paid was not worth it 22 years anniversary was really looking forward to going I have been to 2 of the restaurants there and they were great we go to see the Christmas decorations but the wait staff was good to us Kesha was wonderful but never will we go back or recommend it

The service was bad. I was expecting to be spoiled and treated fairly, but the front desk and Edison restaurant ( hostess) didn't deliver. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, or maybe more training is required, but the southern hospitality they advertise was in short supply.

This is a great place to stay with friendly helpful staff. It's great to sit by one of the two huge fireplaces and visit with other guests or just have a drink. The atmosphere is very welcoming.

I truly love this place for so many reasons. I love its "grandness" but yet the way it still feels cozy. In the summer we love to dine on the patio and take in the summer mountain air. In the winter we love to sip something warm in one of the rocking chairs by the massive fireplaces. We love to roam the halls checking out that years gingerbread displays and beautifully decorated trees throughout the resort.

It was a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend, and the spa was so worth it. I would recommend that there be more eating options or a better list of what you can leave the hotel for. If you don't already have a reservation you won't get to eat. Plan for expensive meals too..

What a special place; gorgeous surroundings everywhere you look! Restaurants serve delicious food that is esthetically pleasing. We had a 60th birthday girl in our party and they made her feel super special at the restaurant and the spa.

Second visit, had a great time as we did before. We look forward to return and actually stay on the premises, so we can enjoy some other amenities like the spa. But we did dine to a open buffet, there were 2 beautiful weddings taking place as well as a little shopping at The Marketplace, so until the next visit I can look back at my photos for my Memories.

Beautiful grounds and buildings, the staff were top notch too, especially John at the front desk and Dan at the main restaurant. Phones weren't working unfortunately would be the only negative but given current circumstances it is understandable.

Grove Park added the perfect touch to our honeymoon. Looking forward to returning to celebrate yearly. The history, therapy, and beauty of this special place is second to none. Thank you to the entire staff for making this experience so wonderful.

Bed was were very comfortable, small bathroom. Nice lobby with 2 huge fireplaces. Good views from the terrace. Unbelievable that they were allowed to add the 2 ugly new wings to the historic old hotel.
Conference organization services were chaotic and i would not host a meeting here again.
Overall too expensive.
