Love to go see the Gingerbread House contest they have every year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The huge fireplaces in lobby are fun to sit in front of and visit with folks in the huge rocking chairs. The fireplace is huge. Give yourself a gift and see the beautiful Christmas trees decorated down the halls. The view of the mountains on the back deck are wonderful. Treat yourself for Christmas by seeing the beautiful displays.

Great experience! We were there for the gingerbread competition. Enjoyed it very much and really put us in the Christmas spirit. Our room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff warm and welcoming. We will definitely return to the Omni Grove Park Inn.

Our stay at the Grove Park Inn on September 29 was much anticipated but was unfortunately a disappointment. Our Premium Room gave us a lovely view of the adjacent building s foundation and air conditioning units. The less than lovely view came with a premium price. My first stay and my last stay at this inn. The wonderful staff did not make up for being put in the bottom floor corner room adjacent to the parking deck on our first visit.

Our stay was excellent! We went for 3 nights for our elopement at the nearby botanical
garden. I was very impressed with the bell staff. On arrival, they put our luggage on racks for us and gave a tour of the room. On departure, they made sure everything was out of the room and helped with finding a box and bag for my wedding bouquet to take home easily! We ate at the Sunset Terrace, and that was a great experience. We dined there the night of our elopement (party of 6) and had an excellent meal with superb service. Our waiter never rushed us, but was consistently available. My husband said it was the best restaurant steak he s ever had! One of our friends at home ordered a bottle of wine for our dinner, and it arrived at the perfect time with a nice card. They brought us complimentary dessert after dinner with congratulations written on the plate. We loved the spa - great service, excellent amenities. It feels very serene and relaxing. They gave me a rose and a mimosa after my treatment, and that made it feel special. I also really appreciated the special touches like a chilled bottle of champagne, 2 glasses and chocolates from the hotel when we checked in (to celebrate our wedding). It s clear that this hotel values details to make the experience special, and that was really important to me! We didn t get to try all of the restaurants on this trip, but the property and hotel are gorgeous, and we look forward to a return visit soon!

Very nice building and grounds. Very nice staff and very friendly. The only real problem was that we arrived at 1 pm and by 4:30 pm it was necessary to go to desk to ask for a room sooner than what was happening. Then the room was much smaller than others of the group.

If you are thinking about going...GO GO GO!!! We loved this place about 20 years ago and have talked about going back ever since. We finally made it for a fabulous fall anniversary wkd. Asheville has changed to a busy trendy downtown area, the setting and Grove Park are still fabulous!! Loved drinking their wine selections in front of the huge fireplaces and beautiful sunsets, not a one bad restaurant experience, in fact, all stupendous!! Service is excellent. Nice touches like champagne and chocolates delivered to our room bc they knew it was our anniversary!!! SPA IS FABULOUS! plan to spend more time there than you think you may!! WE WILL NOT wait another 20yrs to go back!

Made reservations at the sunset terrace inside the Omni Grove Park Inn, and from the moment we arrived received the warmest welcome from valet to the beautiful ambiance inside the Hotel. Everything was breathe taking. I even made a special request for the florist to place a rose on my table. They satisfied everything to a T. I highly recommend them for a beautiful evening and dinner.

Stopped by for some drinks on the lower patio. Looked like a great place to stay of course but at the very least you should snag some drinks or a meal during sunset. The view of the blue ridge is truly amazing.

Great for locals and out of towners alike! I took my mom while she was in town visiting, we visited the shops, grabbed a coffee from The Market Place, and enjoyed a rocking chair with golf course views in one of the hallways.

We didn't get the room we expected to get. We thought we had a Jr. suite, with a sitting room, and two beds. Instead got a king regular room. Plus it was on a lower level with poor views. Buffets we're disappointing for the price. Drink prices outrageous, as was parking. Spa nice, but overpriced. For the cost of our weekend we could.have spent a week on Hilton Head, bor in the Caribbean. I think next time we will do Biltmore, or the Bohemian.

The last time I had staid here was when I was four years old, a lot has been added! Still the same beautiful building and view of the Blue Ridge Mountains that I remember ( please visit at sunset! ). Every spot offers a view worth framing~ Breakfast was delicious with many new and interesting options, the ginger apple cider is my favorite. <3 This place is very special to me and it was a gift to stay here as a guest again. I hope to return again!

Loved visiting this place, we were driving through Asheville and someone recommended we stop in at the Omni Grove Park Inn.
What a beautiful place! So much history here too.
All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to returning here for a longer stay and perhaps enjoy the spa.

We stopped in during our stay and had a drink at the bar. The space is gorgeous featuring a massive wood burning fireplace and stunning view of the mountain. The staff was friendly and the drinks were delicious. Take a walk around the garden and bask in view as you enjoy a craft cocktail or beer brew specifically for the Inn.

Property is beautiful and the staff we encountered were all very welcoming and helpful, but our room was so disappointing. The mattress felt like a fold out couch and the furniture was really worn out. There were some questionable stains on the decorative pillow shams. It seems all the linens aren't washed after each guest. We stayed in the historic portion of the hotel, room 426.

Finest. This hotel has more character than any other hotel I've ever been to in the world. Was even better before Omni took it over, but they kept it pretty real. The Great Hall (aka main lobby) is the greatest gathering place ever. Enjoy a drink and a real fireplace!

We have stayed here every year when we take our daughter to camp. This year will almost certainly cause us to go elsewhere next year. At $500 a night, the rooms are nothing special, the valet was horribly slow (15 minute waits routinely even after calling) and wedding music from the Pavillion kept us up. The lobby and view are fantastic. The spa is nice. Eat at the Sunset Terrace, which does a good job, and stay somewhere else.

Staff was friendly and courteous enough as expected at such a pretentious place...Spent over a cool grand a night to stay in a Jr Suite over holiday. Was very disappointed as the bathroom was tiny and did not even have a tub or jacuzzi. Also the pillows are very uncomfortable. For the price of room they also tack on outrageous fees and tax at every corner. If you enjoy wiping with hundred dollar bills this is your place. From the food to the experience I found this "resort" highly overrated. Wish I had left with a better feeling. This is a great example of how you do not always get what you pay for. Perhaps a personal ball washer should be available for the price to justify it.

We stayed at the Grove Park Inn for our honeymoon ...

We stayed at the Grove Park Inn for our honeymoon for five nights. We originally had hey handicap regular room with a roll-in shower, which was a very small room, and not particularly accessible despite stating it was ada.

The bed was quite high, the shower was quite small even though it was a rolling, the thermostat was too high, and there was not much room to roll around.

We were then upgraded to a club floor suite, for more money of course, but the space was unbelievable. However, it was not Ada specific at all, but I have a husband who made it work and we got creative. If you are alone in a wheelchair I definitely cannot recommend the club floor rooms, but if you have someone to help you or help lift you, it is completely worth. It.

well the club floor is much more expensive you have a private floor with full access to the pool spas every single day, which is a great value-for-money, complimentary breakfast, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, free parking, and complimentary drinks from 5 to 7 p.m. every night. The upgrade fee for the room literally pays for itself. The concierge staff are beyond helpful and will help you plan anything you need. It was definitely a five-star visit on a beautiful property.

however, if you are in a wheelchair or disabled you do need to consider that this is it old property. It's not that they are trying to make things and accessible, but there are so many beautiful areas to check out, stairs to climb, and little nookss to explore that are simply not accessible, and there's no way around that.

the upgraded hotel did the best they could considering this is and iconic historic building. So, if you want to have a completely accessible hotel, you might have a problem here, but the hotel makes up for it and service, willingness to help,

However, I will make a note on the spa. I'm not quite sure there's a way around this, but the spies definitely not very accessible depending on your level of injury. If you are a paraplegic and only paralyzed from the chest down you can use the women's locker room alone and they do have portable spas to get you in the pool albeit slightly challenging.

However, if you are disabled and need the help of another person as I did on our honeymoon with my husband then you are kind of out of luck. I was unable to access the women's locker room because I cannot do things for myself and my husband could not help me. this makes things a little bit challenging, but if you have a strong man or woman or person to just lift you from pool to pool it's doable, but very challenging to be honest. it's still did not stop us from having the best time possible and making do with the situation :)

I can't imagine many wheelchair goers attempt the spa.

The views are jaw drooping and to stay here would be wonderful. The prices are quite unreasonable, 20 dollar parking and 18 dollars for a cup of hot chocolate, no thanks. But if you just want a place to relax and to explore this is a great option.

NOT KID FRIENDLY!!! Rooms were clean service was nice. I would steer clear if you have kids. Also plan on valet parking because there s limited parking available. Also if you sneeze there s probably an up charge.

I decided to go to the Grove Park Inn to check out...

I decided to go to the Grove Park Inn to check out their gingerbread houses on display for the National Gingerbread Exhibition since I ve really been in the Christmas Spirit. And - to grab some lunch while I was there.

The exhibition is located in the hallways of the Inn, which is a historic (super fancy & fabulous) hotel nestled in the mountains right outside of downtown Asheville.

After you get off the main road you ll take a short drive through a really cute little neighborhood - pass by (what appears to be) a golf course, and eventually stumble upon the signs that will direct you into the hotel. I definitely suggest following the signs really well instead of gawking at all of the people walking their adorable dogs - and accidentally driving off it s a large hedge-bush.

Again - follow the signs to the parking garage, and then park in there. It s $20 per car and the proceeds go to charity. (Not per person, but per car - so please don t put your friend that talks too much in the trunk to save money).

After you find a spot, head to one of the elevators - and hit the L button for Lobby . (Note - only one set of controller buttons has the L button on it - it s the side of the elevator opposite of where you enter from the parking garage; so don t panic if, at first, you can t find the button.) After you exit into the hotel - follow the signs to the lobby to pick up a map of the gingerbread houses on exhibition.

While you re in the lobby grabbing your map - make sure you check out the full size gingerbread house. Don t worry - there s no cannabalistic witch baking children in her oven, but rather some very friendly baristas serving up hot coco, Hansel & Gretel ale, cookies and such.

As for the (regular sized) Gingerbread Houses themselves - all of them were ah-mazing. There were *so* many different themes such as Atlantis , a Castle , even a Haunted one in the teen section (the houses are grouped by age range). There s even a gingerbread house with Reindeer playing poker drinking Moscow Mules.

As you make your way back to the parking garage, make sure not to miss the many (non agressive) stuffed bears & cute shops along the way.

Some shops to definitely hit up are Seasons in the Sammons wing (they ve got woodland creatures galore), and Cloth in the Vanderbilt wing (they sell super fresh and flowery smelling Lollia perfumes, bath salts, bath bombs, etc.). Also, Gallery of the Mountains (Sammons wing) has some *very* adorbs greeting cards to go along with the sweet gifts that you can score to make all of your holiday shopping seamless. Your bound to find a fabulous gift for the moms, sis, strange cat lady that lives up the street, etc.

On my way out - I decided to have lunch at The Marketplace. After ordering my food at the counter I sat at the coffee bar for a laid back meal. (You can also sit at one of the tables in the hallway & enjoy a view of the mountains.) The Vegan Rueben that I had came with bag of chips; you get to choose the flavor; I had Cajun BBQ. I was feeling pretty extra at the moment - so had two drinks; a fancy Acqua Panna water and a Major Dicksons Coffee. The Tempeh Reuben itself was kinda spicy yet sweet (in a good way) with some type of marinade, sourkruat, and avocado slices, on rye bread. It was super fresh (which is always nice for premade sandwiches). The chips were crunchy and yum; after devouring them I barely had any room for the Mini Funfetti Cake I got for dessert (& the elderly couple sitting next to me that I didn t know gave me a weird look when I asked them if they wanted to go halfsies and split it). Anyway; it was definitely oversized; I ended up taking it home and lasted for about three after dinner desserts.

This place is exotic. Just to stop by for a beer and sit in the open roof dining area is a memorable experience. Very scenic ride. Great architecture. I didn't stay there, but if I could afford it someday then I would.

This place is off the hook! Beautiful property and wonderful staff. Stunning views everywhere, top notch spa, and tons of history. Reminiscent of the Ahwahnee in Yosemite, but much grander and larger. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.

I have stayed here many times and had very good experiences except once which wasn't too bad but this last time I will never go back again. My best friend and I haven't seen each other in a while and haven't had a girls trip in years so we decided to go to Asheville, she has never been. I talked to her in to staying at the Grove Park even though they are very pricey. On all of my other stays there I have never had anyone say that you can't use their main pool the one they advertise everywhere unless you use the spa. Now hat I have used the spa every time I've gone except once. I tried booking us in the spa this time but they didn't have anything available and the Spa manager was unbelievably rude I mean one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had anywhere, she literally could have cared less.
Beware of any of the older rooms they try to put you in the way the roofs are angled my friend bumped her head twice and had a knot on it .I have a picture I'll attach. When we called down to see about getting a different room the room they put as in had a view of a wall outside I mean seriously that's all you could see. To make a long story short we were in a room with no View we didn't get to enjoy the spa or the pool unless we wanted to pay another $230 to use the pool for a few hours. I emailed their corporate after this to be told they would contact me, which they never did. For what you're paying here there other options where you'll be treated like a king or queen, I highly suggest you try there, I know I will for my next visit.
