Being one of Asheville's largest tourist attractions, its no surprise that the Omni has an insane amount of stuff to offer the public. It is historically well known for its upscale, luxury and accomadating services. Their spa is absolutely magical and serene, and the hotel itself is a work of art both inside and outside, down every single corridor. It boasts over 4 local restaurants within its walls, and many adorable little shops and boutiques. The courtyard and surrounding property is absolutely gorgeous and well manicured. And the staff is world class; they are well dressed, happy, well compensated, and extremely knowledgable. Nathan Potter and Jessica Patterson were the absolute most charming and thoughtful attendants. So much so I remembered to add their names in this review. The Grove Park is family friendly and always has some amazing events going on such as the National Gingerbread Competition which is always such a treat. I highly recommend giving it a visit whenever you visit Asheville. Its worth all the hype. The pictures attached are from my most recent visit during the gingerbread competition

Visited in Mid-April, 2018. A beautiful, blooming time of year. GPI has so many positive attributes - food, staff friendliness and efficiency, architecture, vistas and amenities and surrounding Asheville activities. Yet I was seriously disappointed in our room accommodation. For me it was a stark contrast to an otherwise much anticipated first visit. Our room was actually sub-par in decor and ambiance to most updated 3-star hotel chains. There are better rooms in these other hotels. We paid HUNDREDS of dollars for a one-night romantic-getaway weekend stay that included nothing else. The best thing about the room was bed and mattress comfort, which is most important next to cleanliness. I was shocked with the lack of any kind of decoration or other comfort. There were no pictures on our walls. Expanses of "blankness". The furniture was so old it was actually dirty ( two well-worn and very uncomfortable small leather armchairs, one old side table, and one long, old combined wooden used combination TV / desk wall table. It looked as if odd old pieces were taken out of a warehouse, mixed and matched and put in the room together. There was nothing romantic about our room except the view. Only one room window would open for the lovely April breeze. It was a shame. Not like any room pictures I had seen in advertising. Stark, un-romantic; almost bare, actually. The room decor, curtains, rugs need a serious upgrade.
Also, the large hall foyer fireplace and bar area is very inviting, however there was one cocktail waitress for more than 30+ people, and some of them ordered dinner. Getting a drink at the bar or even getting the waitress'attention took forever. Not sure why this place is so popular. We will not return unless invited to an event at this location. Sorry to say.

I loved it. Really expensive tho. For 2 people I heard for food was about 300$+ but really beautiful and the underground Tunnel was amazing. Would love to go back for a full day to just go around and enjoy it

The atmosphere was pleasant and the lobby was wonderful. However the crowds seemed to cause the enjoyment of the fireplace impossible (which was not in their control) This was not my first visit there, In the past I really enjoyed the nights sleep and considered the mattresses to be world class. However that was not the case this time. I woke up with severe back pain, as did my wife. Our room was nothing short of mediocrity. I remember the value of the entire stay being much higher and worth every penny. It was not easy getting up in the morning. I m fact it took a few days for our backs to settle and feel normal again. The breakfast was truly a delight. The quality of food was above par and the view was breath taking.

My stay at the Omni Grove Park Inn was phenomenal!! Especially during the holiday season, they have the cutest decorations and the tastest hot chocolates served out a life size gingerbread house. The Mountain Views are breathtaking. Where ever you went the service around the hotel was just top notch. My car battery died in the parking lot & the Valet Managers (Luke & Chris) were working endlessly all day to help out and get the car started. They consistently kept me in the loop & never gave up until the car was up and running. I was floored by the extent of amazing service. I can t wait to escape to this beautiful sanctuary again!

To be fair: A beautiful view. On the other hand, highly overrated and quite over priced...Room: shabby. The staff seems miserable, and the pristine ambiance they're so proud of really made us feel like we were sneaking out of a 19th century asylum at night. Creepy.

Went to view annual gingerbread competition. If Whole Foods is Whole Paycheck, consider Grove Park Whole Checkbook. Parking $25. Not a typo. Not 2.50. Twenty-five. Swanky place and prices people willing to pay prove it.

I have honestly never stayed at this hotel being a local , but my family goes there every Christmas to see the awesome gingerbread display , take a picture in the sled and grab some hot cocoa and sit by the giant fire places! The sunset terrace is always nice to be at and they have great dessert there! Try and find the pink lady while your there!

Great views and even though it was pretty busy all of the staff was very nice and attentive! I got the burger, which was great and we also tried the smoked trout dip, but wasn't a huge fan (it is served cold and we were expecting it to be hot). Definitely a nice atmosphere and not toooo too expensive considering the location.

Incredible to say the least. 3 gorgeous days. Restaurants lived up to expectations. I am a hospitality professional and my career focus is 4 and 5 star properties. You will not be disappointed.

For a buffet the food was stellar and plentiful. It was priced fairly for all the selection and quality. The only complaint I can say about the place is there is no free parking that I know of. Highly recommend a visit if you are in town. The overall venue from the shops to the food. Definitely get a hot chocolate from coffee shop and go sit by the fire.

My husband and I had Thanksgiving dinner here today, at the 1:15 seating. We drove up to Asheville from Jacksonville, Florida for the weekend, to check off two of my bucket list items.
I teach middle school and my husband drives a school bus, so staying at your beautiful Inn was out of the question, as it is way beyond our means financially. Thanksgiving in the Grand Ballroom was expensive for us as well, but, oh so elegant. The food was wonderful and beautifully displayed, and the service (Stephen) was without flaw. We enjoyed looking around the Inn, and enjoyed the Gingerbread Competition exhibit as well. I ve always wanted to enjoy a holiday meal here, so today was the day. Grove Park Inn will be a beautiful memory, and now is checked off of my bucket list . Thank you for a beautiful dining experience and a lovely day.

The gorgeous building is upstaged by the magnificent views. That's saying something because the building is a work of art, inside and out. Utterly unique with a new detail everywhere you look. The history is fascinating as well. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Edison's, one of their fine restaurants, and were spellbound by the view. The blue of the mountains rolling off into the distance is breathtaking.

Loved so much about the omni grove park inn! Historic as well as beautiful! The foyer is huge with 2 large fireplaces, one on each end. There is so much attention to deal. The only area that they fall short is the rooms. They were not worth the $500.00 a night price tag. If you have a convention there it sure is convienent but not sure I would pay that price tag again. There was only 2 hooks in the bathroom for your wet bath towel. No where to even hang a wet wash clothe.Room was a little worn and like I said only average.

Let me just say that I ve always wanted to stay at the GPI and I really wanted to love the experience. Long story short: save your money and stay elsewhere, but come and enjoy the view and lobby for free (just like the majority of people). The view and lobby are both gorgeous and worth a visit. Here are the details: the valet team was nice and helpful. Front desk check-in process was less than ideal- not enough staff- long lines- Time consuming- I expect better. We finally get into our room and it smells distinctly of cigarette smoke. Again- disappointing. I wish we asked for a new room, but our baby just fell asleep and I didn t want to take all the time of moving rooms and and bags. Yes, the furnishings are nice, nothing memorable but nice. There room was spacious, but just furnished with the standard bed, 2 night stands, desk/dresser and and 2 arm chairs. The bathroom was updated- not stunning but nice- standard sink toilet and shower. Our room had no view. The sheets were absolutely horrific. Very pilled texture making them rough and scratchy. Another disappointment. It was our anniversary and the hotel was made aware on multiple occasions and there was no special gesture or even a verbal happy anniversary from staff (including at a dinner at the restaurant when again it was known that it was our anniversary) again just disappointed. We also tried calling the spa to make an appointment prior to our visit and no one would answer the phone. When we arrived we were placed on the waiting list, but of course they never had any openings. The pool is a solid 7 minute hilly walk from the hotel and nothing exciting. In hindsight I would have driven. All in all we were just disappointed and the experience did not come close to meeting expectations.

My husband and I have stayed at the Omni Grove Park Inn on several occasions, and until our most recent visit, I would highly recommend this resort. I have a serious pet allergy, and had no idea that the resort is now pet friendly. I mentioned my sensitivity to animals, while booking our stay and advised the staff, Curt, upon my arrival. Curt is a consummate professional, unlike the assistant general manager, who was more concerned with vetting my allergy and dialogue with the registration agent, than the safety and comfort of their guests. I asked her to have the General manager call me, I m still waiting. I suppose customer care and satisfaction isn t a priority at the Omni Grove Park Inn.

Wow is this a beautiful and very upscale place. Wonderful views and restaurants. Have a world class golf course that US Presidents have played. The VUE 1913 is a fantastic restaurant and very classy. Prepare for a highlight of your trip to Asheville.

An excellent choice to celebrate our anniversary. The facility is unique and memorable, staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and meal choices were exactly what we were looking for.

This resort architecture and staff friendliness is the major attraction, along with the spectacular views of the mountain. Beyond that - the place is overrated in pricing, food and rooms. You pay a county and state tax, rightly resort fee and daily parking fee (valet or DIY). The pool is a shuttle ride away and the indoor pool is not in the hotel. The rooms are old and beds are lumpy and small, pillows are flat. The AC has to be set at 60 to feel like 70. The TV has only a few channels and the rest are $20 movie rentals. The food is mediocre, but you'll pay $250 for a family of 4 buffet (2 kids 12). The worst is the disturbances in our room, with sheets being pulled off our feet, feet being tickled and lights and doors moving on their own (and no 0 I did not stay in the infamous room 545). The front desk manager sent an engineering staff to research and said no one entered our room - and would not consider my experiences as worthy of reimbursement. It was the worst sleep of my life and we left a day early instead of enjoying the surrounding Asheville. I was bought here for a conference and would never stay here or recommend the place. Buyer Beware and those with children who don't love the idea of ghosts, stay away.

Amazing place to visit and stay! Beautiful inside and out and the staff is very friendly. The over 50 decorated Christmas trees were awesome. The bands at night and fireplaces make it a fun atmosphere. I would for sure come back when in this area.

If at any point in time you are opening your eyes ...

If at any point in time you are opening your eyes at the Grove Park, there is always something beautiful to look at. Such a truth would be the honor of any establishment, and yet it pales in comparison to the astounding serendipity I found in your Staff.

** Rick in Maintenance - One day into my trip, I dropped my car keys down the elevator shaft. I was on the 7th floor. You looked at the bottom of all four elevators at my behest, as I somehow I doubted that I remembered which one I was on. I was ready to admit defeat. You told me you would keep looking, starting from the 7th floor working your way down. We had decided together, as it was a single key fob, it would be near impossible for it to catch on the way down. You let me know that later id have a key in my room by the tv, or a note saying you couldn't find it.

Later I found my key, and a note saying it was on the third floor ^___^ You went well above what I would have expected of any person. Thank you.

** Alan the night man - I have trouble sleeping, and would spend some time every night wandering the inn or sitting out by the stars. One night I was playing guitar in a comfy lobby chair, when I was asked by someone I assumed was a concierge if I needed anything, I declined politely. I feel, you correctly felt I felt bad about needing anything, and asked if maybe I needed only a drink. I was thirsty. I replied that water would be nice, and quickly realized I had a water bottle. I rescinded my request, as I did not want to burden. You then sold me on the idea of a glass of ice water, which sounded incredible. I caved :)

You brought the water and we talked outside, briefly admiring the view at night. I had a lot of questions, and you had all the answers. We talked about the Sammons family, the purchase of the Grove park, the natural water that feeds the falls in front of the spa, the mountains surrounding the area, and a few others.

You told me that when there's a full moon, it lights up the whole area around the inn, and I imagined from where I stood, it would be awesomely beautiful. You gave me a personal reason to come back, thank you ^___^

There are too many to name..

** Ms. Patsy in room service, thank you for being so kind to me. We talked about music and the guitar, tell your husband and daughter to keep playing/singing :)

~ To the grove park: one of your housekeeping staff actually informed me of $10 LYING ON THE MIDDLE OF MY FLOOR. Thank you for telling me, my faith in this establishment embellishes my strengthening in that of humanity.

I attended a business conference, so food and drink was a regular service. I have nothing but compliments. Bartenders were quick, friendly, and efficient, and I felt like every G&T was better than the last. Thank you :)

The food was phenomenal, served on a bed of smiles (and delicious grits!) :) the breakfast catering staff brightened each one of my early days. To the bearded young man at said breakfasts, happy beard day my friend :) thank you!

I would personally hire every one of your spa staff for anything I could find them jobs in. I have seldom been acquainted with such an immaculate rejuvenation. Thank. You. My experience of the entire spa could not have been without the knowledge, attentiveness, and exacting subtlety of the staff.

Music performers at the inn were incredible. Check the restaurant for the bluegrass band and the lobby for a lone gent with a guitar for some good vibrations.

It's impossible to separate the beauty of this Inn with the beauty of those who take care of its guests. The people that come back do so for that reason, and I will certainly be one ^___^

Thank you all so very much

* also on trip advisor, I couldn't tell if it worked so I'm trying here too .-.

**** PS: lastly! shouts to all my xtra-special Marketplace friends! Try the falafel wrap, cups of ice water, the yogurt cup (with house-made granola), and the Star Wars jelly beans

Excellent facilities and service. We enjoyed a wonderful experience from spa services to food available to evening entertainment (dueling pianos). We would happily return to the Grove Park Inn.

Great place in the heart of Asheville. This is an historical and very fascinating hotel with all amenities you need.
Restaurants are very good. Blue Ridge Artisanal buffet is great for brunch\lunch. They provide a huge buffet with a incredibly large selection of food from southern tradition and local products.

Not terrible, but overpriced and the customer service was less than impressive. It's a pretty location. The spa is enjoyable, but grossly overpriced. The continuous "service charges", 20% automatic gratuities, $15/ day self parking, etc just seems like poor taste, esp at a high-end resort.

This hotel leaves a great deal to be desired. Firstly the historic rooms are far too rustic to be comfortable. Second, the cost is outrageous and makes a Courtyard by Marriott look like the Ritz Carlton when compared against this property.

I also found the staff to speak in a demeaning way to guests, while appearing too busy to be helpful. I hear the nearby builtmore is much nicer.

The public is welcome to come on in and have a drink at one of the many bars and outdoor patios. The outdoor views are worth the drive. It is breath taking. Truly a beautiful place and a must for anyone touring Asheville.

My family has been visiting the Grove Park Inn for decades. In recent years the hotel services have become mediocre and overpriced. Today I made three spa bookings and was asked to pay $240pp for a 50min massage. The website pricing states $150-160 for this service. When I called back to ask why, I was quoted yet another price of $216pp - none of which matches the published rates. I no longer trust this hotel. This is an example in a series of poor experiences and over charges we have endured. A few months ago their valet stole our rental car to go buy drugs and the car was impounded with our things in it. The hotel manager didn t offer any sort of compensation, but a free stay if we came back.
If the Grove Park Inn considers itself a five star hotel, they need to reevaluate their management immediately. We will no longer visit the Grove Park Inn.

We shared a long walk on the 8th floor near the flagship restaurant with a large black mouse. Told several staff memebers who seemed unconcerned. Also the sheets were worn almost through in places and were covered in small black pills in the wear points, which obviously means they were not 100% cotton. The Grove doesn t do turn-down service. On the positive side, the valet and bell staff is very friendly. Overall, this was not up to the standard of the rates they charge. We travel frequently, staying at nice properties and were disappointed in our Grove experience, and likley will not return.
