They do not have enough servers in any of the restaurants or bars. The service is really terrible for a hotel that claims to be so wonderful. For what they charge the service should be excellent. You should not have to search for someone to give a drink or food order to.

We didn't stay in the room, we walked around for the gingerbread contest. My wife and I then ate lunch where we wre greeted by the friendly staff. The food was absolutely amazing and came in a timely manner.

Delicious food on the seafood buffet. Reasonably priced and great service. I wish the signs/directions were more clear because we got a bit lost coming from parking garage. It's a beautiful place!

My wife and I are originally stop by The Grove Hotel to just check out the lobby. We ended up booking a night stay and the round of golf after seeing how beautiful and Majestic this resort was. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to any needs we had and made us almost feel like family. The food at the restaurants were phenomenal and if you stay at this hotel make sure you don't miss out on the buffet for breakfast, it's one of the best I've ever had.

We habe been several times. Stay in a corner room in the Samons wing. Book spa treatments the day you get in and the day you leave to get access to the spa both days without paying the access charge.

Easily one of the nicest and most interesting places we have visited. Very nice rooms, spectacular views, and so much to do. If you do visit, ride the original lobby elevator (walk into the lobby from the front, go immediately to your left and it is on your right), it's definitely worth a ride.

Reservations made several months ago were just cancelled via e-mail less than a week out from our stay. We were told renovations were the issue, but we're never told reno was taking place when we booked and it's not mentioned on the website. We'll be taking a hit for cancelling childcare and two vacation days that have been taken that we can't cancel. I am, quite frankly, incredibly surprised at the shortcomings in service at such a highly recommended hotel. We won't attempt to rebook.

I enjoyed lunch and drinks there this past weekend while atrending a leadership conference. It was wonderful. I did, however get charged for parking ($10) when I accidentally went 5 min over the three hour limit.

The hotel has breathtaking views. The one big problem and I mean HUGE problem is that the resort is a tourist attraction for locals and people visiting the Asheville area. My wife and I have stayed there twice in 8 years, most recently in October 2015 and found the experience similiar. The hotel lobby is mobbed with people. You could call the huge fire places charming if it weren't for the insane number of guests and non guests using the lobby. Even the restaurants aren't able to handle the volume of guests. We called to make lunch reservations at Edisons at 2:50 on a Saturday and we were told that we couldn't have a table for at least 45 minutes. The bar down the hall was closed for some reason and the only other option was the main dining area with $35+ entrees. The hotel is understaffed for the number of guests/non guests using the property. My suggestion would be that if Omni just wants the Grovepark Inn to be a tourist attraction, then use it as such. Don't stay there, come for the afternoon and book a lunch reservation well in advance. Don't assume even at off peak times that you will be able to get a table. It is a shame the hotel lobby is like an indoor shopping mall just before Christmas. Also, we attempted to order food off the restaurant's menu and In Room Dining refused to serve us anything other than what is on the In Room Dining menu. If they can't accomodate all of their guests in the dining rooms then this should change. All of this is just not what should be accepted at this price point. Omni needs to figure out what they want this hotel to be because I also see reviews from non hotel guest complaining about similar things. Contrary to what other guests say in the reviews, we found the food much improved under Omni management. While not excellent, the food was as expected for a hotel of this size and price. Our room was also nice and recently remodeled but a view of nothing for >$325 night. Finally, if your idea of relaxing is the mall food court just before Christmas, this hotel is for you, if it's not, this hotel isn't for you. Just come and visit in the afternoon, enjoy the views and then head back to your own hotel where you can relax and get a meal without planning days in advance.

Only came to Thanksgiving dinner at Vue 1913 this time. I have stayed before at the resort. The spa is to die for. The rooms are fine. Bathtub is a little dated. No shower. It would have been nice to at least have a sprayer attachment. It is pricey though. Anyway, back to the Vue, we have been there before when it wasn't Thanksgiving and it was good. Thanksgiving was however, generic and overpriced. Food was rather tasteless with the exception of the soup and the dessert. It was way overcrowded. Valet was way too expensive also.

Had an amazing day at the Spa, my massage therapist Kate was highly skilled and a pleasure. As a former employee many moons ago I have to say the new management has really been great for the place. Treat yourself if you stay at this hotel; it is a crime not to explore the spa even if you don't get a treatment.

We had a great experience! The views from every angle are beautiful! Rooms are clean but small. We didn't spend much time in our room! The hotel itself is stunning! Would highly recommend!

Staff was awful. I don't think I found a single employee that knew the names of any destination within the hotel. They are not accommodating at all. Rooms are small. Nothing is open past midnight in the hotel. They only even get 2 stars because no matter how bad the people at this hotel are, the view is amazing.

We just recently stayed at the Grove park Inn and it was definitely not a resort experience. I have never stayed at a resort that I wasn't able to use any of the resort amenities due to locals using them. We were not treated as we were special or appreciated, some employees seemed to favor the locals. When you pay resort cost for a small room, you expect to be able to use the spa as well as eat at the restaurants on site, unfortunately that didn't happen. It would have been nice to know that we had to have reservations to use any of the resort amenities. I would not recommend Grove park Inn, use your money at an actual resort.

SUNDAY BRUNCH! DO IT! $40 a head (don't know about pricing on seniors or kids) but worth it. Beautiful back drop of mountains and downtown Asheville. So many options including seafood

Drove all the way from Charlotte today to see the Gingerbread houses. We were turned around in the parking lot because the Grove Park is only allowing registered guests into the hotel. We were told that they decided this 5 days ago. But for 2 months they have been telling everyone to come see the gingerbread exhibit. That it was open to the public. We are extremely disappointed.

Visited for the gingerbread house exhibit. Very enjoyable experience with cool designs and decorations throughout. Hot chocolate was delicious and included souvenir mug. Only downside was that parking near the hotel was $20 for only one hour.

Great venue But the quality of the results was mixed some of us had some really good meals others not so much I believe it was crowded as the staff has ever seen it therefore they were not prepared to provide the service that one would expect From this historical Inn.

Staff was very knowledgable about liquor selection, was very prompt, and friendly. The views from the Sunset Terrace are spectacular! One of our favorite places to bring out of town guests for drinks and dinner.

For anyone who stayed at the Grove Park Inn a few years ago and felt the old world comfort and atmosphere that it represented a visit now will be a very sad experience. All of the beautiful antique pieces and furniture that lent so much to the ambience and charm that was the Grove Park have been tossed out by some corporate hand whose only reaction to its beauty was to see an opportunity to market a famous name for money. Two stars for the employees who do a great job. Might as well stay at a Hampton Inn here in Asheville.

We only stayed here one night, on our way out of town. I know that it is famous and that everyone loves it. I think you have to understand that it is a very large hotel with a large hotel feel. The real issue that I had was that I Couldn t do the one thing we wanted to do there! Sleep! There was was an alarm like noise that I could never figure out where it was coming from. It kept me up all night. I did tell them about it the nextdat When we were checking out . The staff is very accommodating. The other problem we had was the night before we just wanted to get a glass of wine and sit out side. We finally bought our wine ($35 for 2 glasses of wine) but it was very restrictive where you could and could not sit . So, needless to say we don t have dinner there .we ubered into town and went to tupelo Honey downtown . Very good!

We stayed one evening, 4 days before Christmas. It was very crowded but the personal service was not lacking. Everyone was super friendly. The gingerbread houses were amazing. They were extremely accommodating to my father-in-law, who was in a wheelchair.
