This is such a beautiful place. We didn't stay at the hotel, but came to tour the underground bunker that would have housed Congress in the event of a nuclear attack on Washington DC. It was a closely guarded secret until exposed by a 1992 Washington Post article.

Excellent 1778 hotel with shopping, extensive dining options, indoor/outdoor pools, casino, golf, outdoor adventures, champagne at check in, a bunker to tour... The staff is generally very helpful and friendly. And the Prime 44 steakhouse is PHENOMENAL! You've gotta try this place out.

A gaudy cruise ship filled with same type patronage served by lots of HB1 visa employees. Fake fancy food poorly executed in mid level banquette hall style. Sommelier a novice. Never returns to see if you enjoy her choice (instead of our better one). Everything has an extra percentage for "Historic Preservation Fund". Owned by politician. So, of course! (WV governor). Trump went to photo op with him. So.....

As locals we look at the Greenbrier as the ultimate status symbol within the county. Dining or staying there isn t commonplace among us. Our first meal in the main dining room was for Valentine s Day and it was awful! In fact it was so bad that We won t be back! The only reason I gave one star is because there wasn t an option for none! Total lackluster service and the food did not meet expectations. I ve made better food at home in fact without being a trained chef. I m both appalled and ashamed that I held this place in such high regard. The Trumps should buy it and save it from the clutches of an uninspired owner like Jim Justice!

Biggest waste of money. The couples massage was over $500, for a massage very similar to others I've paid $100 for. The food is okay, but don't bother buying an alcoholic beverage because they're going to add a tax of over 30% to it. Despite paying over $400 a night for a room, you also pay a $25 resort fee and a $27.89 historical preservation fee for each night. The historical preservation fee is added to everything you purchase. You would think the exorbitant cost of the room and other hotel purchases would cover these two things. The staff was nice, but you feel like you are paying for them to be nice given the amount of money you're spending. The place is beautiful, but I've seen just as beautiful at B&B's in Charleston and other locations for far less.

HORRIBLE decor, bldg not well maintained, the WORST overpriced foo-foo dining room food, gawd awful unfriendly staff, only visited for WTT -- otherwise would NEVER come here EVER again, NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

I have been coming here my entire life and this great old hotel just keeps getting better and better. Now they have a Dorothy Drapper casino! You can tour the dooms day government tunnel and enjoy a mint julep by the pool. Or some local Bourbon and branch under an old oak. The Shooting venue is grad A as well. The funny thing is they check your shotgun curbside

Absolutely amazing! This resort is incredible, the staff is so welcoming and helpful, the entire property is stunning and the rooms are great! We got a room with two double beds and there is plenty of room with comfortable beds and large bathroom. All of the restaurants on property look amazing but we started with Sam Snead s at the Golf Course, which was out of this world, and ended at The Forum. Can t wait to come back again for a weekend getaway!

Just a bunch of rich people hitting a little white ball around the grass showing who can hit the little white ball better than other person. These people should take a little heart and help out the underprivileged and poor people. And stop wasting so much money on needless things in life!
I'm not poor and I'm not rich but I would not stay here because I think it's a total waste of money.

Went there for a day visit. Grounds are amazing. Golf shop and chocolate shop were my two main stops, and the staff were very friendly. Chocolate was delicious! Already planning another trip back.

We got ice cream at Draper's and wow it was decadent! The banana split comes with 5 scoops (!!!) and tons of toppings. My only complaint is that all the flavors of ice cream and toppings just mix together, and not always in the best ways.

We had a wonderful experience! The property is expansive, beautiful, historic. The staff are all pleasant, accommodating and generous. We truly felt special. We loved dining at 44West. Peggy was an exceptional server.

The Greenbrier is truly a one-of-a-kind resort that makes you feel like you have traveled back to a different era. The customer service is incomparable and inviting from the moment you arrive. We were offered champagne upon check in while a bellman took care of our luggage. Every staff member we engaged was extremely pleasant and helpful without variation. The resort offers so many options for entertainment and dining, all of which exceeded our expectations. The spa is wonderful as they provide all of the little things that help make your experience relaxing and comfortable. I loved the heated slippers and complimentary refreshments. Dinner at The Forum was delicious with a nice selection of Italian style dishes. Chocolates from the candy store were incredible. Plenty of shopping selections and a great toy store for finding gifts. Prime West was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed escargot, wagyu filet, and cherries jubilee made tableside as well as our choice of wine from an extensive selection. Horse-drawn carriage ride was romantic although it was 2 degrees outside. Escape room and arcade were a fun pass time and the Bunker tour was interesting. The casino provided plenty of table games to play as well as many slot machines. Room service was impeccable and timely. I just wish we had a longer stay to be able to see and do all of the things available. Already looking forward to a return stay.

Went there for our anniversary. Great service, chose to eat in the main dining room had a wonderful formal dinner. Afterwards went to the Casino, at 10:00pm the DJ starts for dancing. Breakfast buffet in the morning, carriage ride in the afternoon. Of course we did the Bunker Tour. Had an amazing weekend.

Old school resort with a bunker built during the cold war. Dress code is enforced for dinner, and is well worth it. Wonderfully decorated for the holidays. Staff is extraordinarily helpful. Will be back again!

Stayed in the Thansis cottage. Very large, luxurious accommodations. Excellent food, lots of activities. Where else can you drive a jeep off -road in the morning, and take a falconry class in the afternoon? The outdoor pool is fantastic. Indoor activities include bowling and a movie theater. The hotel is historic, and mostly well-maintained, though in some areas it is showing its age. Staff is very professional, attentive, and eager to help. This is my fourth visit for a family reunion, and i look forward to coming again in the future.

I think the Greenbrier is a nice place. Everyone in the staff has been really nice and helpful. They get major points for staffing. Now some takeaways I thought some of the restaurant options were a tad bit on the expensive side. I can understand for the steakhouse but not some of the other places. But overall, I had a pretty nice experience at the Greenbrier.

Went for the Bunker Tour- make reservation via phone. Very neat history and our tour guide was very informative. They have to keep making money so the place is rented out by a data storage place so you only tour some of the bunker and it's set up like a museum with exhibits in some of the rooms.

I attended The Classic at the Greenbrier. The course was beautiful with plenty of places to spectate. I also took the shuttle up to the hotel and ate lunch at Draper's. The food and ice cream was delicious. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lot of shops and a casino.

A place that I have been wanting to visit for years. We only toured the grounds but was impressed with the beauty and history of the Greenbrier. Make sure you visit the President's Cottage that was built in 1834-1835, and is now a museum. The Houston Texans are also holding there pre-season camp in late July and August here.

Outstanding ambiance. Super service and spectacular grounds and scenery. I came here 4-5 times in the 1980 s on conventions, and it s even better now (though my golf game is not). Old world style with modern amenities.

The Greenbrier was extremely courteous in accommodating us, treating us with respect and dignity that many hotels don't. The staff was very pleasant, but it was obvious the owner does not care about the hotel.

I loved visiting here and taking photos of the beautiful gardens and interior designs. The shops, restaurants, and rooms are a bit pricey, though... I definitely couldn't afford to do anything more than a day pass.
