MY GOD, YOU DIDN'T FORSAKE ME AFTER ALL. SO SORRY ...

MY GOD, YOU DIDN'T FORSAKE ME AFTER ALL. SO SORRY THAT I EVER DOUBTED YOU WHEN I WAS FACED WITH UNCERTAINTIES. PLEASE FORGIVE ME AS I SHINE THE LIGHT ON YOUR PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF TROUBLE.

I grew up in a children's home in Nashville, Tn called, Tennessee Preparatory School. By the grace of God that same children's home hired me as a Child Care Worker and placed me in a cottage caring for 14 teenage girls under one roof.

My return to the children's home as a Child Care Worker made the Newspaper. You see the children's home only hired former students to work in the cafeteria not one on one with current students.

I was truly Blessed by God himself to have been hired as a Child Care Worker. All the girls called me Mom. Oh but little did I know that 10 years up the road something Horrible that would turn out WONDERFUL would change my entire life and would uproot me from Nashville, Tn forever.

Atlanta, Ga. April 1993: Found me in Georgia Baptist Hospital facing the birth of a 1 lb. 11 ounce baby boy who was given 24 hours to live. What was a Nashville, Tn. pregnant woman doing in Atlanta, Ga? I was in Atlanta for a Spring Revival and I got sick and was rushed to Georgia Baptist Hospital by way of ambulance. My whole world changed. I was no longer to be the former student/Child Care Worker from Nashville, Tn. I turned out to be a grieving mother at the bedside of a 1 lb. 11 ounce baby boy born 4 months too early with only a life span of 24 hours. GOD, WHERE ARE YOU FOR MY NEW BORN BABY FACING A SHORT LIFE SPAN? I turned to the pastor of the church that I had been attending for the Spring Revival and I asked WHERE IS GOD? Read what is about to unfold real careful: God didn't come through the Revival pastor. It is strange how The Spirit of God came but he came. The Lord came through a Blood Bank lady name DEBORAH COLLINS.
I was sitting in the cafeteria of Georgia Baptist Hospital and this stranger walked up to me and said, I SEE THE GLORY OF GOD ON YOU. My God, you didn't forsake me after all. I didn't know Deborah Collins at the time of her approaching me and speaking words I had never heard before. I SEE THE GLORY OF GOD ON YOU. Yes, Yes The Glory of God showed up through Deborah Collins who worked in Georgia Baptist Hospital Blood Bank. Get it, "Blood Bank"! Jesus shed his Blood many years ago to save us from our sins and to hear our humble cry.I just got this understanding as I am sharing How Great God Is to the children of men and he has not Forsaken his people. My son will be turning 21 years old come April 8, 2014 thanks to God that dwells in Deborah Collins a Blood Bank Angel in Disguise. Peace and Amen

I hate to say this but I wish this place would just close down... remodeled just to provide worst service... 1 or 2 doctors is NOT enough to keep up with the traffic that come through this hospital...12 hours is entirely to long to be sitting checked in waiting to go sit in the back for another 6 hours before a doctor cares enough to come check on you!!! Even the front desk staff is horrible... A man passed out in my arms at the desk and the women doing the check ins got an attitude because he wasn't responding fast enough and when I told this Caucasian women that he stated he had his ID she said oh well he should have said something when I asked. Again I'm thinking to myself how could someone be so careless about a patient saying they are having a stroke and passes out.... Everything about this place is horrible and I pray in the future it close down... I know it won't be any time soon but I pray it happens!!!

if i could i wouldn't give them one star even this is the worst hospital in Atlanta the nurses on the psychiatric floor are so rude. My son was having really bad side effects from a medicine they didint get consent from me, i told the nurse that he needed help because he wasnt not feeling well getting drowsy and having bad migrines the nurse said oh well he has to deal with it, and thars apart of his illness but he was fine when he entered the hospital. what type of nurses does Grady hire?!

This hospital is a fn joke. Literally they cut me open for surgery I didn t need saying I was having an ectopic pregnancy. Which I never had !!! My baby is perfectly fine. I was hospitalized and in so much pain for nothing. The staff was rude and everytime I call for information or try and figure out everyone says I don t know. This place is a joke with unintelligent doctors.

Im new to atl and Ive been sitting here for over 10hrs and still have not been seen by a doctor. I am in severe pain and I have insurance still no doctor. Very bad customer service the staff lie to you about wait time. The white guy especially at the help desk. I wish I would have chosen a different hospital. Not to mention how dirty the rest rooms are in the emergency room. Save yourself and your life some time and go else where.

I was born in this Hospital in 1969. I'm a black man and I'm a truck driver for 23 years now. I have a very serious medical condition. We talk about racism in this country but let me tell you. There were plenty of white women and men taking care of me, plus I had a black doctor and nurses. I had a Asia doctor as well. They made me feel so important. This Hospital is very special to me. Thanks for always taking care of people no matter what they look like. I love you all.

Well let's put it this way. Based on my experience just trying to SCHEDULE an appointment, I will NEVER go to Grady nor refer anyone there. I have been trying to get my son in to see a pediatric dermatologist. I called last week and they told me I needed a new referral to them because the one I had expired on Aug 5 and even though I was calling before then to schedule an appointment, it couldn't be used. Strike 1. So I decided to search around and see if there were any other dermatologists I could find that took my son's insurance and could get him in before October 1st. (that was their earliest pediatric appointment. Strike 2 in my book but some may not agree). Low and behold, there were NONE that took his insurance So. Today I decided to call Grady back after exhausting all my options. I sat on hold for 17 minutes to even TALK to someone in scheduling. When she finally answered, I politely explained the situation, told her I was aware that I needed a new referral but wanted to get him scheduled and would get that sent before my other one expires. She then informs me that I cannot even SCHEDULE my son without the referral (keep in mind, it is July 22....my referral is good until august 5th.) So I asked, can you just schedule him and when I'm done here with you I will immediately call my pediatrician and have her send another one seeing as I just sat on hold for 17 minutes to talk to anyone? She bluntly said no. We need it faxed first. I explained to her that when I called last week and was told about the referral issue, no one EVER mentioned to me that they couldn't even schedule him without it. She said, well, I'm sorry but you do. At which point I told her that because of all this I wasn't even sure that I wanted to bring him there and WITHOUT PAUSE she interjected "Ok maam. Thanks for calling Grady. Goodbye" and HUNG UP ON ME. What kind of place employs people like that? Certainly not one I want to entrust with my 2 year old. For being as "big" of a name as Grady, you'd think they would take a little pride in how they handled their potential new patients. I can tell you right now I will drive anywhere in the state to avoid giving my money and business to such an impersonal and rude company.

Crappy hospital with money hungry employees who don't care about your health or well being but instead chose to run it like a business. These people took advantage of a bad situation and used it to rape my medical insurance since more than half the people who come to this hospital don't have insurance or use Medicare. I wasn't their for 24 hours and was charged thousands of dollars for nothing! I truly hope the thieves who run this hospital and work in the billing department burn in hell like the devils they are!

I was in a car accident and got a small cut and went for urgent care. Due to what seemed to be protocol, I was sent to a kind of emergency department where I was poked, prodded and left alone for hours without treatment. I sensed that the treatment might get expensive because of all the unnecessary testing they were doing on me. So i asked to leave so I wouldn't get a huge bill. The nurse insisted on at least glueing the cut back together and this is the only treatment I get and I left immediately after. I get an insane bill for around 20k that gets hot potato'ed around by various insurance agencies because it was a car accident.

ALL OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OK DESPITE ALREADY BEING A TOTAL NIGHTMARE. EXCEPT GRADY WON'T PICK UP THE PHONE TO RESOLVE THIS. I've called at least a dozen times. Half time the wait times out, the other half, I get redirected, if I'm lucky, I'll get an empty promise that they will look into it and call me back, which they never do. Oh, and they refuse to correspond via email.

It's nearing a year since this event and this experience is far worse than the car accident. Next time if I'm in need of medical attention and it is after normal business hours, I will let nature take its course rather than go to Grady. (Just in case you're wondering, this is still unresolved)

Communication skills!

Communication skills!
I can't comment on the level of care because I can't get any info. 9 out of 10 calls I am hung up on. Other family members have the same outcome. If you child is life-flighted one would think a doctor would call you. One nurse said we could face time them. He is in a coma and does not have a phone. I know they are a level 1 and have a great burn unit but after just trying to call I am starting not to believe the hipe.

THERE IS A GOD and he LOVE GRADY HOSPITAL BAND of ANGELS: I will always Love Grady Hospital. You see the Good Lord saw fit to grant me a mother from Grady's Hostess Services 20 years ago this February 2015. I was raised in an orphan home in Nashville, Tn. Oh but God smiled on me at Grady Hospital while I was pregnant and having liver failure. The Good Lord worked through his band of angels at Grady and raised me up from liver failure with something I never thought possible: he gave me a mother that worked in Grady's Hostess Services. Wow! What A Mighty God I Serve. How about 20 years later Grady is now about to help my adopted dad to get back on his feet. Thanks to an amazing doctor at the Walk-In Clinic my dad is about to undergo a surgery that will save him from losing his foot. He will only lose a toe Thanks to Dr. Esohe G. Idusuyi, NP. Great care was given to my dad at the Walk-In Clinic of Grady: Alicia C., Shekita J., Annette T., Donald H and Dr. Esohe G. Idusuyi NP were above the best in caring for my dad. Then dad was sent to the Emergency Room of Grady and placed in the Blue Zone were he was treated like the King he is. Great Care was available in many forms at Grady's Emergency Room for my dad. The Blue Zone truly gave dad a five-star service. I Love Grady Health System and I Love God for giving me a mother 20 years ago this February 2015 from Grady Health System. Peace and Amen

Even though they have done major upgrades on their waiting room, the results are still the same. Staff members are rude and lack many people skills. If a patient has someone with them, you are not allowed in the room with them, they kick you out if you are not being seen or waiting on someone.

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. My mother ...

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. My mother came to this hospital to be treated for a large internal tear. multiple nurses incorrectly administered needles into her veins, causing intense pain. She sat and slept in a bed for hours on end that was meant explicitly for childbirth. Machines constantly beeped and even after calling for a nurse repeatedly there were no nurses to be found. No, they were sitting on their phones, ignoring the calls until eventually my mom had to resort to finding the button to turn off the noise herself. At midnight, she was forced to move rooms. Each nurse that came through her room didn t speak a lick of english, and left the door wide open each time they left. The nurses couldn t care less about their patients, honestly. Homeless people, drug addicts, and drunks are roaming around, causing disturbances in halls. The nurses are the biggest issue, in my opinion. Don t ever go to this hospital, you ll receive horrible service, be constantly faced with rude nurses that don t know what they re doing, and be more uncomfortable and in pain than you started out with.

Georgia would be nothing without Grady. Go for trauma related illnesses, such as burns, car accidents, gun shot wound. Most successful physicians in Atlanta rotated through here. Do not sleep on Grady. The absolute BEST trauma hospital of all times. They recently helped save a family member s life.

I am currently at Grady and I feel like I'm going to die here. I dislocated my knee in midtown and the ambulance brought me here instead of Emory like I requested. I get here and the trauma u it was amazing, except it took forever to get a painkiller. They ortho team was awesome except I been here two days and they won't feed me or give me water even though I have high blood pressure from dehydration. No one will tell me if I have to have surgery or not I'm sitting here starving, someone keeps turning the heater on cause me to sweat In my knee brace and soak the sheets which could only be made out of burlap and rope they are so itchy and uncomfortable, my IV is moving all over cause no one will fix the tape on it so it's still just moving and Hurting. Everytime I page a nurse they take 40- 2 hours to get here so I had to stand up on my dislocated knee to adjust the heater after an hour of waiting the one shining star was the male nurse from Americas he came and made sure the sheets were changed and I was comfortable.

Not good for mental health assistance. My son was referred to this place to help him after being diagnosed with several mental health problems. All that has been done is set and cancelled appointments which is now out had ginning his medication and suffering from episodes. I now understand why so many patients with mental health issues struggle to stay sane and alive. I pray that my son can hold out because I'm documenting every name of staff, doctors, dates and phone calls to turnover to an attorney should something occur.

By far the worse hospital and staff I have ever had to deal with. Hippa must not be in their vocabulary. The nurses are in no hurry to help anyone and could careless about being attentive to their patients They are more worried about what they are going to do after the leave than they are about the patients that depend on them.

Went in for surgery consult ..appointment was at 9 was told to be there at 8:30 ..got there at 8:15..3 people that were seated after me had gone..9:30 still waiting.. You really shouldn't schedule people back-to-back like that unless you have the manpower and the doctors to see them this waiting is B.S.

This place is FULL of nurse practitioners walking around in long white coats introducing themselves as "doctor" to unsuspecting patients. Be transparent about credentials!! This is extremely confusing to patients. They hire these non-physician practitioners (NPPs) to save money!! But you're still paying the same bill even if the "provider" went to some online NP university. NO THANKS!!

I would not send my worste ememy here i didnt know if i was in a hospital or a homeless shelter or a lgbt event!!! At the entrance of the emergency room, the officers at the door don t acknowledge you and dont give you any instruction while your going through the metal detector. Four of them were in a loud disruptive group. They too concerned with their own conversations to tell me to put my stuff in the bin, walk through the metal detector. They re loud disruptive and I wonder why the hospital wouldn t have higher standards.

The doctors and nurses at at Grady Hospital are Simply the Best.vThey saved my oldest daughter when she was shot in the head and stomach by her boyfriend in 2009,... taught her how to walk again and everything. The doctors and nurses at Grady saved 3 of my sister's that went through breast cancer. I had something as small as a 13 week old baby tumor in my stomach and it was removed by doctors at Grady. All of my children were born at Grady. In 1993 my 1 and only son was born in the Grady ambulance, My son's doctor was at Southwest and that's where the ambulance took me. I lost so much blood until I turned blue but the Grady EMT stayed with me til the bleeding stopped and I was back to normal so yeah I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT GRADY!!!
They might be extremely slow but they get the diagnosis right and proceed with getting you better.

I wish I could give this place NO STARS. However this is my experience. First I'm informed in April that I have to wait six (6) months to get an appointment to see a doctor in October. Then today I receive a letter that the October appointment has been rescheduled for December 28th!!!! I didn't know Grady was trying to out do the VA Hospital for substandard service. Needless to say I cancelled my "Appointment" (Ha, what a joke) For all I know, the reason for my visit could be malignant. Of course, if it proves to be cancerous I could very well be dead by December 28th. This is totally unacceptable service from a hospital that brags about how wonderful it is. I suppose the billboards they have plastered all over the expressway, talking about "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Grady" should be edited to read "I'm lucky to be alive, no thanks to Grady" What really gets me is that I was going to be paying CASH $$$$$ money for my treatment. Something that Grady probably hasn't seen from a patient in yearsTo be fair, I'm sure there are a ot of dedicated medical Professionals working there, however the day to day administrative operations running this hospital ( and the low caliber personal doing it) leave a lot to be desired. I can only assume that the decline in Grady Hospitals efficiency is a direct result of having Pete Correll as Chairman. One only has to look at how he decimated Georgia Pacific Corp. by downsizing and putting countless GP employees out of work, to see how he adversely affects a business. I'm surprisd Grady still operates with him at the helm.

With no where to go and no food to eat, Grady allowed me shelter and a meal. The staff were friendly and helpful and one of the security officers even gave me a couple of dollars to help me along the way.

Disgraceful neglect towards a relative of mine with dementia. Disheartening staffing. Poor, cruel experience.
I just want to be direct and honest from the getgo before going into detail of what had happened.
I thank god everyday we were able to finally see my grandfather and if we weren't persistent and ontop of things, process of transferring him to a hospice would've been prolonged too far. My grandfather suffered from a stroke and they did not change his diaper nor bathe him I believe ever since he had been in Grady's care to them (almost two weeks,10-15), and we couldn't see him due to the pandemic-which I understand. The only way we were able to see him was due to the difficult decision of removing him from a ventilator, which was a very uncomfortable tube going down his throat but thankfully he was able to breathe just fine which we wish we had known beforehand but he wasn't able to talk and he attempted to yank the tube multiple times to the point he was in restraints, which showed he probably could've breathed fine. He was very uncomfortable yet the moment the tubes were removed, he had relaxed significantly. He was in poor condition by the time my mother and grandmother came to see him, he was so happy to see them..-he suffered horribly. and alone.. all those days :( thank god he is now resting peacefully at a wonderful hospice and not in such an ill and horrible environment.
please... if your loved one is a patient in this place during this pandemic please see them soon as possible. isolation is horrible. and the nurses or whatever are not attentive to them, so either they need more staff or reconstruct their entire damn staff with actual humans who have actual hearts.

Why is it impossible to get in contact with your billing representatives. I have called multiple times on multiple days. I'm put on hold for 15-20 minutes and it always ends with slight sound in the background and then hanging up, this is ridiculous!

If You Have Sickle Cell Anemia DO NOT I Repeat DO NOT Come to Grady You Better Off Going to the ER it's the same amount of time as going to the ER these Nurses at the Sickle Cell Clinic don't care about you honestly they do not communicate with you or anything I've been in pain for 3 hrs and still haven't been seen not even asked are you okay I'm telling y'all grady sickle cell clinic should be shut down !!!

My father suffered a stroke. We wanted him to go to Macon but they were full so they had to send him to Grady. At first things were ok. Because of covid19 we weren't aloud to visit so the only way was to call. The receptionist always seemed irritated that we were calling. Then one night my father became hot and was tying to kick off the blanket the nurse said he was trying to get up and would not listen to him. They tried to put him in restraints. They thought they were calling my mother but called my sister who told them no that it was illegal for them to do that. My father now has bruises on his wrists and is traumatized by the experience.. Then they lost some of his belongings including his wedding ring that he has had for 56 years!

For starters the biggest issue is organization. I waited in the waiting room for 6 hours until I was finally able to go to the back which was another 3 hour wait. The biggest issue is coming to an ER and needing proper medical attention and only receiving the most mediocre asinine pompous attitudes from the staff. I would never recommend coming to this facility if you are in need of medical attention because otherwise you are just sitting in the waiting passing time and will probably die in the waiting room.

My husband got into a horrible motorcycle accident...

My husband got into a horrible motorcycle accident on 8/9/16. First I want to say a huge thank you to the trauma unit, especially his nurse that he had in the emergency room, Emily. She did an amazing job at taking care of him while he was in a panic and in so much pain. Second, I want to thank the orthopedic surgeons who repaired his leg. They were awesome and made sure the surgery went smoothly. However, our experience there was absolutely terrible beyond that. We were there for 6 days, and out of those 6 days, all of his nurses were terrible, except for two named Camielle and Lisa. We had one instance where we had to change nurses because the nurse he had gave him his medications with his bare hands, which is completely unsanitary. Housekeeping was horrible and never came to the room, so our room was a disaster. The only way my husband could get to sleep was if I laid with him for a little bit to get him to relax. And on the 5th day, a nurse finally said that there was a policy that I couldn't be in the bed with him. So the nurses definitely need to be on the same page with their "policies". Basically every nurse had an attitude and acted like the patient was such a burden on them. It got so bad that my husband said he felt like he was in prison instead of getting proper care at a hospital. Also, the employees (food services, coffee shop, housekeeping) all complained to me about how they were overworked, and they all looked exhausted and just had terrible attitudes and customer service because of it. I had one employee tell me that they had her working overnight for 7 days straight and she had a newborn baby at home. To me, that's very unacceptable. With it being a hospital, I would think they would know how important it is for a mother to be with her newborn child, and could work out her schedule a little bit better.

The only reason that I gave this review 2 stars is because I had finally gotten fed up with how my husband had been treated and walked down to the Family-Patient Experience department and spoke with someone about all of the issues we were having. After that, they got the ball rolling to have him discharged asap. Thank you to Mr. Johnson and Mr. McClain for looking into our issues.

Overall, Grady is amazing at saving lives, but terrible at customer care. I hope that we never have to go back to that place except to see orthopedics.

My brother was on 7A. Housekeeping was awful each day I came to see him used gloves were laying on the sink, nurses drop plastic from needles, or whatever on the floor and they didn't pick them up. I thought hospitals are suppose to be a very clean place, this was the nasty hospital I have ever seen.
I did complain to the supervising nurse but the next day my sis terrible said it was dirty and stinking the very next day.

Wow. Im surprised that I wasn t born in the waiting room. I have been waiting to be seen by a doctor since 1pm. It is now 6:17 pm. I almost forgot to mention the bloody bandaids on the floor everywhere & the unprofessional staff. Way to go!

My mom and I went to the hospital after a car accident and the paramedic was very rude and nasty and took his time taking my mom there and when we got there they didn't get to us until like 3 hours and we were just sitting in the hall and never got a room and they charged me so much money just to give me 1 ibuprofen !

My daughter has more than one illness, the worst being MRSA, and she can't even walk! This sorry excuse for a hospital tied her belongings onto a walker and put her outside on the street with nothing! The closest family is over 390 miles away. We were assured she would be transferred to a physical rehab facility to fully recover before we had to return to work in Texas. This is the grossest case of unethical behavior I've ever seen. Not to mention the lack of compassion from the staff be it nurses, tech or housekeeping. Not one time did I see anyone clean anything! My daughter had to beg to even get water! No one would help her shower or change her bed or bandages! When she said anything she was given sleeping meds to shut her up! When they got tired of her asking for anything they threw her out! This hospital should be shut down!
