I love Grady. Atlanta NEEDS Grady and therefore the motto is true. You can get non-emergency ambulances to pick you up for things like visits at the hospital or outpatient surgeries. Grady also has an EMS Academy where they train people to be some of the top patient care providers in Georgia and the southeast. Grady is fair in taking care of the patients as well as the employees. The staff will take care of you, keep you alive and help get you back to your normal way of life. If you have choice when you need care, choose Grady

My experience at Grady ER was incredible. My team of doctors, nurses, and techs were compassionate, thorough, and professional, and they took great care of me when I needed it the most. I highly endorse Grady ER and the services they offer.
this hospital is by far one of the best in atlanta. 7th floor icu treated my family like royalty when my friend's husband passed. his nurse was ZANDREA BAKER. she is one of the most caring and professional persons i have ever met. in a horribly difficult time, i was treated like royalty, and will be forever grateful.
My friend became ill and was transported to Grady Memorial Emergency Hospital. While they took her back I waited in the waiting area. Never before have I seen such a lack of respect for the patients coming through. As I sat waiting, there were patients on the floor waiting for help. What troubled me the most was the security guard that forcefully removed a patient from a much need wheel chair. The guy was half asleep and his leg was swollen. The guard asked him to get up and when he didn't move fast enough, the guard picked him up and slammed him, hitting the guys head on the barrier separating the waiting room area. The patient was visibly hurt and shaken. They spoke to the patients like crap. The place was dirty, smelly and lacked any kind of compassion. I know the staff is up against a lot...but if they can't perform their duties any better than they do they should quit. It was horrible. I think I'd rather stay home and hope for the best before ever going to that place again. Oh yeah, as for the friend I took, the situation where she was was not much better. Just because people are poor, homeless or down on their luck doesn't mean they should be treated like animals. My bad....animals in the shelter or treated better.
Horrible staff and experience EXCEPT the social worker on baby floor (Gasinda). The social worker for nicu is extremely rude. Don't ever adopt from this hospital. Get the birth mom to switch hospitals. They keep you from seeing your baby which is illegal until they see fit.
I have been coming to Grady for many years and just like the commercials say "I wouldn't be here if it werent for Grady". My most recent experience was Thursday 12-21-2017, when I was admitted in excruciating pain due to MRSA. While the whole staff was wonderful as usual, I wanted to take a minute and give praise to a real superstar Doctor. Dr. Dave Gupta has been the most patient, caring, empathetic, warm, compassionate, kind physician I have EVER had. If all physicians were as great as him, the world would be a happier and healthier place. Also a special shout out and BIG THANK YOU to Nurse Cordelia on floor 7a. Your great at what you do and always have a smile on your face while your doing it. Thanks again Grady for all you do!
My experience in Grady was absolutely unacceptable, I would believe if you go to College to be a nurse or a doctor or anything you still need to realize customers service is important and Grady really showed me people don t really care about you , and these are people in service to tend too our needs but it seems like they hate their own job
If I was a doctor or a nurse I would give my love and peace to all my patients and make sure I have nurses on staff that are highly excellent with their words and knowledge
But I still want to say thank you for making me feel better after a whole lifetime
My father was here for over a month and was move to several area of the hospital. The staff was wonderful and caring to my father and family. Thanks for all you did for us.
I m currently 37 weeks pregnant I came up here for shortness of breath dizziness and a really bad cold I been in the waiting area on the 4th floor for a hour now there s no one in any of the beds in the back I just saw they won t even let me lay down I just got off work from a 8hour shift they refuse to give me a wheelchair I can barely walk due to contractions and my body aching from the cold!!
My uncle is in the ICU South Tower area of this hospital and let me tell you, if I could post a review without having to put a star I would. They deserve a 0 star. This hospital is the worst hospital I have been to. Staff and nurses (except for Sarah and Anthony) are extremely rude. Emily McKenzie, the lady at the front desk, is even worse. Why work at a hospital if you can't be nice and kind to people ? Families are here with stress, sadness, heart broken because of what they're going through and then Grady has these heartless, rude workers working here. Why ? I wish i could've recorded Sally yesterday with how rude and racist she was being just so everyone can see the type of hospital this is. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Please go elsewhere unless you want to be treated like trash.
Took 5 hour to see the doctor. I think they all are in the mesuam. The patients want to come and see them for whole day. That was my 1st time i walk in to grady emergency. And that will be my last time. I never expect that much worst service.
Grady Health System is a Great Foundation to build upon. Because of Grady Health System we are now about to start a cleaning service of our own due to the fact Grady Health System was used to save our mother's life 21 years ago to raise us up to Love and Respect God first, mother earth and mankind as a whole.
God and Grady Health Care are Awesome together. Peace and Amen
These people is just plain useless i came in the yesterday am look for assistance cause my temperature was 100.7 during my time these i had explained my situation they told me they would get me a case work after running"test" they realize it wasnt Covid-19 the doctor still couldn't provide me any real information all they did was give me two Tylenol n 1Ibuprofen then around 10:45 they discharged me mind you i I STILL FEEL SICK AF IF YOU THINK IM PAYING FOR SOMETHING I COULD OF DONE ON MY OWN YOUR DEAD MISTAKING
I wouldn't send a dead body here. The worst, the WORST....THE WOOOOORSSSSSSSSST experience I've ever had in my life. I came in with high sugar and was told that I couldn't eat for a few days. They refused food for 3 days. Today the Dr said that I was suppose to have breakfast. I've been sitting here for 3 hrs waiting on insulin and food. I've made the nurse aware and they keep walking last me like I'm invisable. I've been pulling my wires just to get some attention
I came from out of town to be with a family member 5/29/16 and had to stay several days. I have never had to pay to park at a hospital. It is terrible that the hospital is so money hungry that they gouge family members during a time like this. I also asked if inpatients had to pay to park and was told by parking attendant "everybody pays". This is a real shame. Other than this, I was not very impressed with this hospital and hope I never have to go back.
Brother is in ICU, people in ICU are doing their best. Peggy working in the ICU front desk has been one of the rudest and heartless people I've met at this hospital. I was told by people working in the ICU you have to be 16 to wait in the waiting room but peggy told me it was 18 and made me leave. she also told someone that my brother wasn't there right after she let about 10 trips of people back and fourth from his room. Not the kind of person you want working with the families of people who are critically injured, maybe a person who doesn't have a cold heart would be wonderful for the position.
Not a good place for new employees, I came in contact with the rudest most disrespectful person I have ever met in my entire life!!! He is supposed to be the director of a department, but is very unprofessional. After working for 2weeks I was called to his office and told they couldn't find my paper work and he didnt know who approved me to be there, and I basically couldn't work until they figured things out! Really? It's been 3weeks and I still havent heard anything. I've been getting the run around whenever I call. Smh. I have always heard negative things about grady, but I refused to believe them. Now I'm can understand why people have a bad opinion about the staff.
I have lived in the Atlanta area for over 36 years. This past March was my 1st experience with Grady. It was also my LAST. I wasn't the "patient". Unfortunately my son was. I did not know that Gwinnett Medical had a "Level 1 Trauma Unit". If I had known, I would have INSISTED that my son be moved there IMMEDIATELY. I had always "heard" how great Grady was. Now I KNOW. The place is HORRIBLE. My son was involved in an auto accident on his way to work on the morning of March 16th. He was UNCONSCIOUS, and had to be cut from his vehicle. He was taken, by ambulance, to Grady and was listed as "JOHN DOE". No one from Grady contacted us. Our son was there for over 28 hours. The only thing we knew was "HE WAS MISSING". Our daughter-in-law finally found him at Grady. After being transferred several times, she was connected with the "Trauma Unit". She described my son and was told that they had a "John Doe" that fit his discription. We finally knew. Our son had a broken neck, right ankle broken, left knee broken, a tear to his liver, his eyelid was cut and he had a HUGE bandage over his left eye, numerous cuts and bruises, and we were told that he had "bleeding" on his brain. He was not conscious. My son had been there for 28 hours, ALONE. NO ONE bothered to locate his family. His accident was on the 15th. We found him on the 16th. We found a bag in his room that ONLY had his shirt in it. We searched EVERY inch of that room for anything else. We found NOTHING! We asked, NUMEROUS times, about his condition, the place on his head and his other belongings. We were NEVER told anything, except someone would be in to talk to us. That NEVER happened. We KNEW that whoever cut his shirt off must have cut his pants off. Where was his pants? We also noticed that WHEN he would gain consciousness that SOMETHING wasn't quite right. He did have a HUGE bandage over his eye. What was under that bandage? Did he have stitches? We asked numerous times. No answers. A female Dr. from Emory (Dr.White) FINALLY said she was ordering a MRI on my son's head. Never happened. She lied! He was at Grady for 6 days before a nurse took off the bandage. My son's head needed suturing. His head had NEVER been looked at, in spite of us asking and asking. It was too late for suturing, so now he will have a huge scar that will need plastic surgery. He was STILL listed as JOHN Doe in spite of being told his name AND that he had insurance. He DID NOT receive adequate service. We (his family) was treated like 2nd class citizens. I can ONLY imagine how HE was treated when we weren't with him. I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING GOOD to say about this abomination that is called GRADY. FYI: On the 4th day, a bag with my son's pants, and wallet with ID in it, was brought to us, while our son was in ICU. We were TOLD that we FORGOT it. What a joke!!!
Thank you Grady for saving my life. I 've got in a terrible car accident and was delivered there by ER. I was in coma for 5 days, they were very friendly with my mom and even brought her a chair and put it by my bed. Later, when I tried to schedule a doctors appointment, the lady from the call center was laughing at me! Even if she tried to be quiet, I heard it. And I told her that I'm after traumatic brain injury and I apologized upfront that it takes time for me to understand and answer questions. Very unprofessional! I hope Grady won't keep such employees.
This hospital er is the worst in the world stay away shasta is also a terrible individual who has no compassion for patients i am appalled they are able to treat people in such a way absolutely disgusting....the doctors are great tho
Absolutely RIDICULOUS how immune suppressed individuals are treated. They got us packed here like sardines in a can. No social distancing. They do make us wear masks that's the only good thing. It's not right that every patient is treated the same here...
I'm not from Atlanta and always heard bad things about Grady until my sons father got into a very tragic accident lost about 6 gallons of blood and they saved him. He was in ICU for 2 months before they assisted us in transitioning him to the Shepherd Center. Thank you Grady !
This "Hospital" does NOT even deserve 1 star. The emergency room staff was not even remotely professional or attentive. When we finally were given a room in the emergency area the male nurse assigned to us stated to the EMT Student(also assigned to us) - and I quote "I'll race you to see who'll get the IV line in first"...
They were RACING to poke MY SON!!!!
The urologist Dr. Carney's STAFF on the 5th floor was an absolute disgrace to this hospital.
In particular one urologist by the name of Dr Katie "Something" (because she never gave her last name) was incentive, unprofessional, rude and just an overall horrible representation of what a doctor should be.
I was referred to this hospital in particularly because I was told Dr. Carney is one of the leading specialists in urology. Unfortunately I was unable to even see him because of the staff that is poorly representing him and this hospital. He had his staff call me twice to bring my son in to be seen because of the special circumstances he has.
But again, because of the staff in this hospital I refuse to take my son back. God only knows with the mismanagement that is going on there, my sons life could be on the line.
This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hospital in my entire life. With that said, I don't go to hospitals that often, but I do know how I would like to be treated as a person whether I am a patient or whether I am there supporting someone who is a current patient. So let's just get right to the problem then. My girlfriend had a 3 minute seizure (which is abnormally long for her given her history) while at work and had to be rushed to emergency care at Grady Memorial. I have never been to Grady before so I don't know my way around. The staff treated me as such, "It's Grady. How do you not know your way around this place? I am not helping you." I literally had this said to me by one of the employees. So after following the signs to make it to emergency care, I find myself having to speak with the customer service representative behind the desk so that I can be let in to see my girlfriend. I have never received more attitude in my entire life to the point where it baffled me. I had done nothing wrong to any of these people, yet I was treated as if I were the reason all of them were forced to be here. The representative even said, "I don't have to let you in, I'm doing you a favor" and popped off with the most ridiculous attitude. Last time I checked, I AM A CUSTOMER. I do not have to bring my services here and the fact I was treated as if my life revolved around them and what they wanted to do and if I didn't do whatever they wanted then I would be removed is absolutely retarded. It will always be the worst experience in an establishment I will have and I REFUSE TO RETURN. I do not care if I am dying and this is the only hospital left standing. It is the absolute worst experience any patient or visitor can have.
The customer service at Grady very poor. The preprisentitivee I spoke to was unclear about the information that was being asked. In addition, when a question was asked to the presentative, (she) would find every way possible to void away from a direct answer. Over all this is the worst costomer service.
Well, last week i had an appointment, when i went to the room to wait for my Dr, Patel. She took more that three hours to cone in and see me. She could come in and tell me that she's will be coming soon. I become impatient thinking i got forgotten. I left the room to look if can find a staff to help me find my doctor, the staff a CNA knocked a door just next to my room and here two of the doctors came to attend to me. I wondered, if they were doing something on duty, would they have came immediately with so many apologies to give. I was so angry. When they saw me they told me to go to the lab for blood test. But unfortunately the lab was closed by that time. It wasn't my fault, was in time for my appointment but the doctor delayed for more than three hours. The worst that happened is after the doctor went out and came in with the doctor superviser on duty, she gave me a very scary look straight to my face, the other two doctors standing by looking at me, the impression was so shocking i thought something wrong is happening to me and they want to break the bad news. Her approach was very unprofessional to a client. She said. "Now that your blood glucose has not been well controlled,,,,,,"i didn't let her finish her statement, i asked her, based on what? I have really worked hard to drop my blood glucose as a diabetic. I was diagnosed diabetic two yesrs ago, I started with insulin three times a day, after 6 weeks it dropped very fast to normal, when i started insulin it was A1C of 17 and over 500 on meter. The meter couldn't read it, was reading high. After 6 weeks with exercise and diet it dropped to A1C of 7.3. I dropped weight from 200 to 168. And here comes a doctor supervisor telling me thatits not all controlled, and she didn't have any test blood done since January of this year. Dr Patel had told me congrats, i had lost 2 pounds, i knew from another source that my A1C has dropped to 6.5. So i couldn't stand it the dr supervisor telling me that i have not controlled my blood glucose, she didn't had any base to judge me like that. They tried to increase my drug intake without the right information to do that. I was angry and now are. Am the first doctor for my body, its working great for me with Metformin, exercise and diet. Another disappointed, the customer service number is not working right now, i have tried several times, different numbers, leading to voicemail, unfortunately voice mail box is full. We need help.
My experience has been with the care of my oldest brother (61 y/o) who has had a come back 3x with the care of Grady. His care has been and has continued to be exemplary. The personnel are beyond compassionate. Keep in mind, my brother during his illness has been hostile, even towards me but his care team personnel has been relentless in their compassion to carry on. There are not enough stars in the rating system to accurately score Grady! My father was a physician, so I am knowledgeable when it comes to health care.
I have been in this er waiting room over 9 hours with my mom and the ER staff is beyond rude and heartless!!I ADVISE YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE..never again!!!
Worst experience. I was on L&D floor waiting for 5 hours in the waiting room in pain, vomiting, and asked for ginger ale since they couldn't give meds without being seen by a doctor first, receptionist told me I would have to buy it from a vending machine! I only got in a room because I bugged the charge nurse fir 5 hours. They kept bugging me to pee but I had to beg for a small cup of water for 2 hours before I got one .I was told after being there from 6am to 3pm I would get to order food because I had been there so long and then the nurse came in with a cold tray with one slice of bread, some kinda meat, cabbage and noodles and said we cant order food right now , just eat the macaroni! I will NEVER return here. I'll have my baby at home before I return to Grady. I'm going to Emory next time. Hardly any wait time, nice staff, and accommodating!
They do have some doctors here that are either overworked or hate they're job, but overall the level of care here is great. The worst thing is the hurry up and wait mentally. No one is ever in a good mood and forget going in and out
Honestly would not recommend this hospital to anyone. They had my mom waiting in the hall cause she wasn't as bad as the other patients even tho she had stroke written on her folder. It was gross and it stunk. All the staff were idiots and were rude.
My son had a bad car wreck came in at 4am Sunday morning had one lower xray nothing else told he has a crushed vertebra it's 10 am monday no ct or anything
Mom s appt at 9am in Neuroscience, it s 10:56 and we re still waiting. Only excuse being offered is, it s a full day. I ve seen more people that came after us, leaving because they ve been seen. Be considerate of the sandwich generation, we work too, you know?
Insane practices and procedures, like admitting people under false names "to speed things up", saying they will change it when the patient is released. No one in the hospital knew the patient's condition or history, even though he'd been released from Grady only 12 hours before! Overcrowded, with patients in closets and hallways. Social worker have the patient a lecture on the dangers of DRINKING even though the paperwork said DRIVING!!! You couldn't make this stuff up!
The nurses who assisted us (two shifts) were fantastic, but the convenience of a vending machine with drinks and snacks to help get through the hrs in emergency would have been really nice. We kept having to go to other locations, and with the virus limiting entry, it made it more difficult. It was also very scary having to park, then walk around the other side of the bldg to enter emergency area at midnight. I'm an older female, and I was alone, and of course couldn't carry anything with me for protection since I was entering a hospital. Some of the Admins (not all) in Emergency that night (7/30 midnight-early afternoon 7/31 ) need to be more helpful. A couple of them were very nice, others seemed to do their best to pretend they didn't see us. Thank you to those who were helpful, and nice to us, and shame on those who weren't.
If you want to be treated as a human being, do not go. If you want someone to care about your ailments do not go. I wanted 7 hours to hopefully be seen after hitting my head and having a concussion. I was never seen. The told me 5 hours in that I would be getting testing done. When I followed up around the seventh hour of me waiting, they told me that they never put in any requests. Despite being coherent and articulate they kept trying to imply that I must have been drinking or on drugs when I passed out. That was not the case. When I kept telling them I fainted from dehydration they kept questioning me in an accusing way about how I know what dehydration is and that I was dehydrated and not on drugs. A white male came in at the same time as I did. Before he could tell them his story about how he fell. They rushed him to the back. Although I fell from a higher height and was feeling headaches, which is a bad sign. They truly did not care. To shut me up, they kept quoting people you have had insane waiting times like 10 hours. However, people with potential head injuries are supposed to have some priority, which I would have had if I had been a part of another demographic.
I been since 10:30am it's 5:00 my kids get of school @6:30 I have to go I don't have anyone to get my kids I'm in pain they haven't told me anything I'm just seating here after talking to the doctor and getting my blood drawn.
Best hospital in the South. The doctor was very patient telling us our options. They operated on him immediately. He survived and lives on his own. Excellent healthcare.
Well I like Grady Memorial Hospital. Yes sometimes the wait there can be extremely long. I've been dealing with this hospital since 1996 Victoria and Eric GRADY BABIES of course. Also when Annette had Aubrey the NICU was GREAT. It was so sweet to see all the babies. Thank you Grady NICU.
Worst experience of my life. Was here since Friday night due to an auto accident and was suppose to have surgery Sunday. Never had my surgery till wednesday. I had relatives renting cars and hotel rooms that kept having to be pushed back due to my prolonged surgery. They kept taking me off the surgery list. Requested a single room since the first day of Arrival here. Never received it, doctors and directors promised me a room and after endless attempts they finally put me into one. Once I was in the surgery room, I had to wait a hour in a half to get operated on surgery was from 1pm-7pm. The nurses was terrible. They kept ignoring my request to reach them in the room. Doctor was rude and everytime I complained they acted very non-chalant and the only solution he gave me was to call the CEO of Grady in which he could not provide the number. Every time I asked for a manager, they told me there wasn't none working. Worst experience of my life and would not recommend it to no-one. Total nightmare.
Two ladies on the 4th floor had an attitude when I wanted some food. A light skin lady with curls and a dark skin lady with braids . They refuse to feed a pregnant woman
I would like to thank GRADY HOSPITAL EMERGENCY TEAM Starting with Ben, Dr. Mayberry, DR. Doctor, LEE, RODERICK, and Linah who really worked hard over and beyond their call of duties, from the bedside manners, professionalism, to expediting medical services to assure my medical needs never went wrong, which could have easily been fatal. OUTSTANDING AND AMAZING!! Once I was admitted, I would like to Thank the 14D STAFF for the MOST OUTSTANDING NURSE AND NURSES TECH FOR CONSTANTLY CHECKING IN ON ME, ALWAYS, UPBEAT GREETINGS, ALWAYS, ON TIME WITH ROTATION AS WELL AS JUST ALWAYS READY TO GET THE JOB DONE WITH A PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE... THANK YOU CHAD, UCHAE' PATRICE, CHARGE NURSE JANET,RENINA, HEIENA, YALL WERE EXCEPTIONALLY AMAZING I PRAISE GOD FOR REAL STAFF THAT REALLY CARES....
I came to this particular hospital today because I am out of state and away from my regular doctor. This is literally the worst experience I have had anywhere. I would trust being taken care of at a strip club before I ever trust this Hospital again. I came in and it smelt so horriable (I know this is a hospital but there's a fine line between unsanitary and a weird smell) I sat In the waiting room for two hours and was moved to the back room only to sit two more hours and then took back out to the front to sit another hour and now they have took me back to the back again and I've been sitting here for three hours listening to all the workers talk about how they're working on a school project, what they are doing for thanks giving and wether they were gonna be together and faithful or just "do them". Not to mention the first time I was took back here I sat down and found not one but FIVE bugs on my legs that looked like lice, after I showed the doctors they shrugged it off and then decided to whipe down the bed after I already had bugs on me from a previous person in the room because they didn't clean it before hand . Then the second time they brought me back here and put me in a different room, the nurse literally didn't touch or clean anything, there is trash all over the room. (Cups, fingernails, STRAWS, and tissue) in the floor and in the side of the bed. The nurse tried to make me lay on the bed and almost told me she saw them clean the room before I butted in and corrected her. I understand hospitals take a long time sometimes and they have a lot to deal with, but it's obvious they aren't doing their job so I don't understand why it's taking so long . This place needs a reevaluation, they need someone who actually cares about their patients and doing their job not coming to hangout with friends and get paid to sit on your ass. THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER .
UNPROFESSIONAL Worst hospital to go too. Extremely Long Wait Times. If You Want To Wait All Day, Round A Bunch Of Aggravating Individuals Then Grady s Yo Choice. Just Find A Better Hospital Instead Of Grady. You could Die Here Waiting For 10 whole Hours Smh and also most of the employees are rude
The absolutely worst!!! I sat in the waiting area with a fever for 8 hours. While homeless drunk people that seem to be regulars get all the attention. Nurse said the dr was ok with me waiting that long with a fever. Don t waist your time here. It s a comedy show. America as a whole is a joke when it comes to hospitals and health care. Take care of yourself cause I just learned our medical system is a big mockery
I would definitely like to say that Grady Hospital is the Best!!!!! I had a gun shot to my hand, I went 1st to a hospital on the southside and let me tell you i will never every go there again. I was transfer to Grady and was told bye the previous hospital the i was going to Grady to have my hand remove, well let me tell you i was blessed and was given Dr. Diane Payne which let me tell you pure Awesome. Not only do I have a hand but it works. I recieved nothing but TOP NOTCH service all the way around from Grady and there staff. I would like to tell everyone my story Dr. Payne and Nancy Jordan in Hand rehab are the greatest and because of them not only do i have my hand but i can use it. Thank You Grady
So far, so good. I've had surprisingly great service from Grady staff. Everything I've heard about Grady had been disproven. I do agree there is a lot of waiting, but I noticed there are a lot of people Grady is serving. I will continue to come here for as long as I need to. I am glad to know that people who need care and can't afford health insurance have a place like this that will provide they with first rate professional care and will treat them with dignity and respect.
GRADY HOSPITAL IS THE BEST OF THE BEST HOSPITAL ON PLANET EARTH. IF I COULD I WOULD TAKE MY PETS TO GRADY.
My wife is alive and well to this very day because of Grady Hospital. My daughter life was spared at Grady and the list goes on.
Grady Hospital Deserve a 5/Star Rating In All Areas of that hospital including but not limited to their Janitors that keeps that hospital oh so very clean.
Grady Entire Staff are The Right Hand of God for real. Thank you Jesus Christ for Grady Hospital as a whole.
From: A Very Proud Husband, Mr. Alexander and my wife Robinson-Alexander. Glory to God for real for Grady Heath System
The worst hospital ever and I will never go back. Went to this hospital a few years ago and they got all my info. I have been working on my job since 2000 and have good insurance, however Grady failed to inter my insurance info. fast forward to present day,,,, I checked my credit and found out that Grady said that I owe them $8,000+ dollars for services. I never got a bill and they never charged my insurance. when I contacted Grady I was told to contact my insurance company and when I contacted them they said there is nothing they can do because to much time has lapsed. Now I'm stuck with the bill! Grady finance department said they would call me back to work something out and I never heard from them. This is bad business on there part and I still end up going to another hospital for care.
Forget Netherworld. If you want to visit the most horrifying and torturous place in Atlanta take a trip to Grady's emergency room. This is the epitome of what's wrong in the United States healthcare system today: ridiculous long waits, odors to make you vomit, unprofessional disrespectful inhumane treatment and overall lackadaisical attitudes. They should burn the place to the ground and start over. This place is a sh*thole!
About 7 years ago my mother was at Grady because she got into a bad car accident so when she woke up she check her wrist and they had her as a 70 year old man that had mandatory medical pills and at the time she was 46
I can't say enough positive things about the 6th floor nursing staff and the SICU nurses..also Michael Grossman!! Atlanta truly can't live without Grady!!!!
Very busy Hospital lot of patients staff was very reasonable tried to maintain professionalism as much as I could fortunate to get in right away. My suggestion is that have more volunteers more employees very understaffed
A Must Read True Story: I grew up in an orphan home in Nashville, Tn which is a 4 hour ride from Atlanta, Ga. How about years up the road God saw fit to give me a mother in the form of a Hostess Service Manager at Grady Hospital. I was a patient at the time and I was pregnant with a liver disorder. For lunch one particular day we had Spaghetti and it was so good to the point I had to call down to Hostess Services and give feedback about that delicious spaghetti. Wow! I gave feedback and landed a mother in my life. Grady Hospital is loaded with success stories of people lives being changed for the better. Lord God, Thank you for Grady Hospital as a whole. Thank you for my new life of 19 years now with a mother I love dearly that I met at Grady while giving feedback on a plate of spaghetti. Feedback is Powerful.
Horrible hospital if you are here for an emergency. They will have you sitting around for hours in pain before they even help you. My dad broke 5 ribs and they had him waiting over FIVE HOURS before he got some sort of medication for his pain, after we had to ask multiple times. They also proceeded to tell us we had a ct scan at 11am and didn t get it till 5pm. They decided to keep him over night and said he would get his own room and instead put him in a room with a bunch of sick people. No one checked up on him for a day and he got very sick. The service here is horrible, they don t have enough staff and the staff they do have don t care about you and are super rude. Throwing all these patients all in one room all for a very crazy large amount of money. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE!
Next time am in distress I might as well kill over cause the bill was enough to send me to the morge... almost 30,000 for 12 stitches. Service is good but they way OVER treat you for over billing
I've been calling them every since they opened and they still haven't bothered to answer the phone or forward me to leave a message they just let it ring..smh
I went to this hospital this past Friday and it was the worst experience of my life. ONE STAR IS ONE TOO MANY! I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with my first child and I was having these horrible pains in my lower back and abdominal, something worse than I had felt before. Naturally I feel the need to make sure that everything is okay with the baby. I arrive at the Family and Birth Center/Mother Baby department around 11pm, there was only 1 other person waiting and I didn't get seen until 4am. To make matters worse I'm already in slight panic mode and the doctor, whose name I have but won't mention, was beyond rude!! She treated me like I was in the wrong for wanting to check on my baby and argued with me about what I was feeling. I told her I just want an ultrasound to make sure that everything is okay. She did the ultrasound and, unlike any other doctor that I've been to, she wouldn't show me the screen of my baby's heart beat. She just said "everything is fine, your baby has a normal little heart beat" and closed the monitor. Here I am nervous that I could be experiencing a miscariage and the one thing I wanna see is my baby heart beat to ease my mind and she did not show me. Now to make matters worse the day after my visit here I was still feeling the same pains and then Sunday I started seeing blood in my urine. I'm going to get a second opinion from a more caring OBGYN in the morning. Oh let me not forget that she told me that from that point on I needed to go to the hospital that my obgyn was affiliated with, then she realized what she said and tried to change her statement by saying "I mean you're more than welcome here and we would never turn you away" smh!!! If I find out that I miscarried after visiting this hospital I will move forward with further actions. I wouldn't recommend this place to any pregnant women.
