Do not like Grady at all ... All the Nurses are rude .... Emory Doctors that come to Grady are good. I alway have to go to another Hospital. Grady will kill you. Sorry but its true.
Tops as one of my worst hospital experiences. Primary Care physician was incredibly rude in asking me personal questions when I finally got to see him in the patient room. He had an attitude with me after the nurse reminded him twice that I was still waiting. He still ended up over an hour late in seeing me, even though his previous patient had left and I had already arrived a half hour early to my appointment. Definitely won't be seeing him again.
horrible...
I go to Emory now
Bash Grady all you want to I worked there as a nurse, and after retirement I go there as a pt, they do a WONDERFUL job with the worst of the worst!
The place is clean, the equipment is state of the art, if you do not
like Grady, go elsewhere, with
NO INSURANCE, see how THEY treat you!! When you go in with an ATTITUDE, you get what you bring
in!!
I'm only giving one star because I have to in order to leave a review. This is my first and last experience with Grady! if it was up to me they wouldn't get any! I arrived there at 1:45pm the staff barely even looked at me when I got to the front counter. also most of them had attitudes and looked like they hate their job. I sat there for almost five hours before my name was called to go to the back. When I get to the back they draw blood and take a urine sample then sit me back out in the waiting room to wait what I was initially told would only be 45 min to an hour for my lab results. Instead it's now 11:15pm, they sat me back out front around 6:10pm. I have been waiting for five hours and I'm still being told it will be a while. EVEN THOUGH MY LAB RESULTS ARE IN and have been for the past 4 hours. I ask the nurse if I can just come back tomorrow or get my lab results another way, she tells me I would have to start the process all over again!!!!! This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. I understand they may be good at treating patients but They are waaay too over crowded, and their attitudes are really bad and makes you feel like your just a number and no one that works there cares about the patients. I've never been to a hospital where you could not lay with a blanket in your seat! I seen a security hassle this lady and demanded she give up her blanket.... Seriously! Dammit folks don't feel well, they may feel better laying their head down and it's cold hell in here and you got us waiting 4 and 5 hours just to be triaged. Not too mention the workers swear and talk mess to each other in front of patients. This is definitely not professional. Just because this is a county hospital doesn't mean you have to run it like a damn free clinic. Triage nurse even had an attitude. The only person who was welcoming was the lab tech who drew my blood. Hell the nurse that walked me to my room caught an attitude because I asked if I could throw my container in her trash...But I digress.... Like I said never again! I will gladly go somewhere else!
"I wouldn't say I love it" I would say they shouldn't take their patients for granted. Some of the patients have good health insurance and DO NOT HAVE TO USE GRADY BUT THEY TRUST GRADY, I am one of those. But it's hard to continue when you are put on hole for one hour and thirty minutes just to talk to someone at the East Point Grady Clinic. Not even a Doctor. When you compare that treatment verses a private Doctor, it makes you want to find you a Doctor that have more then 15 minutes and don't even examine you.
and really DO
I was taken to Grady via ambulance after a car accident in April 2015, they were so attentive and efficient-I would never trade my experience there for any other hospital.
I do not live in Fulton county and have never been to Grady before- I have worked in health care for over 10 yrs and have always heard negative reports on this facility-- I was so pleasantly surprise with their thoroughness, efficiency and kindness.
The Er doctors were amazing- they kept me abreast of what they were doing every step of the way.
Absolutely wonderful staff-- thank you.
The worst hospital I have ever been to in my life, I rather die in traffic on the way to a further more cleaner hospital!!! I feel like the public bathrooms are made for you to catch some type of sickness. Also the employees remind of DMV employees, rudest in the world.
As of 10/22/2016: I BEG YOU, PLEASE DON'T GO HERE! Grady should be called a united nations, since both emory and morehouse work at Grady and the groups from the four visitations cannot speak or understand English. Don't trust no one to help when you do not get your medical concerns addressed. For example, clinic manager Patsy Jones; a liar and don't bother leaving messages; "Drs." Michael Anderson, Pierre, Salimah Valliani, Aasia Khan, Ragwar and Kapil will not understand English (or listen to your concerns), even properly spoken, but, I think, Anderson is another case, especially if your female. Think this: you come in with complaints of abdominal pain, particularly after eating foods with fat, good and bad, headaches, fatigue and faintness, and ER emory doctors would rather give CT scan for blood clots after they take five plus vials of blood and blood five days before which causes d-dimer to increase. Five "doctor" visits later and still no medical diagnosis. Others like the growing non-English comprehension, other wastes from Grady are: the entire staff of patient & family experience, mindy cody, chief of er medicine Atallah, clinic PA robin cary, the entire billing department, and to be thorough, ALL Grady's employees are untrustful and useless if you're seeking assistance with the unavoided problems come and no useful medical expertise. DON'T LET THE INTERNS IN YOUR ROOM OR LET THEM TOUCH YOU, especialky Justin from emory. Incompetence is what you will witness and receive from grady hospital, regardless of floor and department, medical and non-medical. It only uses doctors from morehouse medical school and emory medical school, usually foreigners, mostly with strong Indian accents. Prejudice you will also get, especially if you're "black" from security, the administrators, and the medical staff. I advise all visitors to RECORD VISUALLY AND AUDITORILY AND gather names, times snd dates because grady personnel will lie to you and deny your the best medical care, even deny your humanity when you need to sit down in need of rest. Ask Sheryl in the ER; she'll be the one in green scrubs, glasses and black wig at a desk. Overall, be prepared to sue becauae you'll be billed for "treatment" you never got, and Eric Johnson in patient and family experience department will only "listen". Do NOT BELIEVE ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU THAT TALKING TO THE PATIENT AND FAMILY EXPERIENCE DEPARTMENT WILL AFFECT YOUR BILL IF YOU WANT, AND YOU WILL, TO DISPUTE IT. To me, grady hospital and all its clinics are a plantation and all who enter it will receive a slave experience: people who "know" you when they do not and will deny you the truth but give you lies and proper medical care. You're better off treating yourself.
Salutation to the reader. I have written a review on Yelp, but had to revise due to word limit. My review here will be the information I could not add on that review from my visit to the E.R. on July 5. As a suggestion made from another respondent here, I advise also to record your visits. That is to protect you from the Hospital's lack of professionalism and the lies they will speak if a problem occurs with you. Record your visits, have a Lawyer and remember the names of the Nurses/Doctors.
When I was called to receive my E.K.G. my sister asked for me to be escorted back due to I felt weak and shaky while walking. The Nurse (forgot her name) promised she will do that, but lied. In regard to note being in the Blue Zone now, I constantly complained of the needle in my left arm but never received assistance with this. In trying to ask where was the doctor, my sister asked a older female at the desk to please call for him/her to come out for Albert (who purchased my sister and mother coffee) did not make any calls for us (Mr. Albert confirmed that when he stated that he was never informed.) The Doctors refused to provide me a thorough examination as I and my sister begged, but both Akinyi Ragwar and Shika Kapil made sure to pressure my relatives and I into receiving a CT scan I never wanted (that fool Nurse Rebekah Nation took five vials of blood from me without explaining why or being considerate I was dehydrated. A second Nurse named Rose took more from in the Blue Zone and caused my D-dimer levels to be high.) I was also given an additional X-ray I did not request. Around this time (after midnight), Ragwar promised to examine my legs, but lied about that statement. When my sister was questioning about what about examining my abdomen to see what is causing me pain, she responded before leaving completely "It's probably GERD." No individual who claims to be a professional makes presumptions and dismisses the patient's symptoms on past diagnosis. Ragwar has also lied on a lot of information on my Medical Records (that I was was diagnosed with depression, dyspnea and that I was given pepcid for acid reflux.) My mother and sister had a uncomfortable encounter with the security guard by stopping them at the door (knowing they were both with Nurse Phillips) while we were getting ready to leave. Reporting these people and disputing the bill is another hassle, as the operators will not assist you by giving the correct information. My sister tried to get a refund, and no individual properly helped her. To this day, I continue to feel bad and immensely hurt I was not given proper treatment. I want the Hospital to be closed down, but since that will not happen I do not recommend this location for any individual and if the reader has no choice I suggest to be wary of the following: Akinyi Ragwar, Shikha Kapil, Mindi Cody, Hallah Atallah, Eric Johnson, Salimah Valliani (she stated that I did not have gallstones, but I actually did) and Robin Cary.

THE STORY: September 2015 I lost ambulatory functioning that drove me to attempting to walk with the assistance of an old wooden cane. Something was very, extremely, desperately WRONG!
No Job, No Insurance, No Options I packed a lunch, made arrangements for my kid and got a ride from my neighbor to be dropped off at Grady. I must have looked petrified because on my way IN a wonderful volunteer was exiting the building. She stopped, walked me into the building, got me situated at the information desk and waited WITH ME until someone found me a wheelchair.
I regret that I do not remember her name, but I know it was the Grace Of God. She prayed with me before she left and I truly appreciate her letting her light shine...she was leaving. She didn't have to help me, but she did. Over the course of the next 144 HOURS I got a front seat view of Grady.
The emergency room staff displayed inhuman feats of Kindness and Respect for EVERYONE who passed through the doors during my 10 hour cameo appearance. I named a television show as I sat through the parade characters and purposefully monitored the staff. After all, Grady has a bad reputation, right? To that I say people should stop talking about what they Don't Know About...for real.
Those employees earned my respect and particularly there was this young blonde fellow who was one of the fist people you interact with when you get back there. I let him know that I truly respected the way that he carried himself and treated people. I have no idea what these folks were like the day before or the day after, but the night I endured Grady's Emergency Room, I was impressed. I personally don't think I would be able to handle ALL ASPECTS of the human condition as these folks are trained to do.
There were tests, vitals taken, a chest x-ray and more waiting. I was told I didn't have a stroke, I was free to go. I asked for a neurologist. I was provided with one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, Dr. Hermes. After a brief physical exam and listening to family history, an MRI was deemed warrant-able.
I was emotionally stable until I saw the imaging of my spinal column lit up like The Lights Of Life College Christmas Display. Activity on my brain didn't bother me as much as when I saw my spine. I was given OPTIONS. But wait, I'm nobody special, I don't even have any insurance, and these people are willing to take care of me....BET.
Relapse Remit Multiple Sclerosis - I opted for 5-days of intravenous steroids...THAT'S how bad off I was (The weight gain is the more nagging lingering side effect). Apparently I was in the throws of a Relapse / Flare. Knowing that I wasn't just being a lazy azz or hypochondriac brought some peace of mind.
ACT 2 - SCENE 1 Assigned To A Room. I had 2 AMAZING nurses during my stay on the 11th Floor. Night Shift's Barbara Correa and Day Shift's Amy Moore. They were both missed when they were not there. Kindness, Professionalism, Humor and Empathy was displayed by both.
The Internal Power Struggles amongst the staff was most OBVIOUS at night. Things got really different at Shift Change. It felt like Angels and Demons in that Camp when the sun went down. I have to blatantly state that the American Staff is much more cordial than the Foreign Staff during the 144 hours I observed / encountered / endured the difference.
IN CONCLUSION....Sooooo, you have to wait. But when you wait you get checked out from head to toe. Some of the staff is A1 and some could actually, honestly, literally CARE LESS...but the Good outweighs the bad. With that being said I MUST acknowledge Food Services. The Morrison's Vendor is an excellent choice!
Grady Hospital WAS GOOD TO ME!! Thank You....(I hope this makes up for NOT sending back the survey).
Luckily I'm not dying but I am in excruciating pain and unsure of the reason. I understand there will be a lengthy wait with it being an ER But I Been here 6 hours and still waiting. Worst ER visit in my life and Lord, Never again. Hate to leave without knowing what's going on but I'd rather try again at another hospital. Could have stayed home in pain!! ""A NEED TO KNOW"".... Staff is pleasant so far but Its very nasty, waiting room and restrooms. Waiting room smells like a dump. No hate for the homeless but besides being crowded with them, there are addicts and drunks crowding needed space and harassing people for change. Must say I'm very disappointed, especially after driving al the way here, paying $6 for parking thinking that this was a better hospital when in fact, its not and didn't get the care I needed!! GRADY HOSPITAL IS A SCAM. Making alot of money to ignore the "HONEST, REAL" ILL!! PEOPLE THESE REVIEWS ARE HERE FOR A REASON, TAKE HEED OR PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!
Very good hospital....doctors and staff are amazing...we delivered our baby there...we really enjoyed the stay and the caring and love!!
THEY charge$20 visit and$5 per prescription for payment for people who don't have any income
I was in Atlanta for vacation and was in a scooter accident, breaking my arm and nose. Unfortunately Grady was the closest hospital. They will have you waiting HOURS for everything. I was in a neck brace for over seven hours waiting for a spinal check when my neck/back was not even hurt. I understand taking precaution, but 7+ hours in a crooked neck brace is PAINFUL. Waited HOURS on ct scans, pain meds, and for a nurse to help me to the bathroom! Would not let my husband stay in the room over night -- really?? The ONLY good thing I have to say about this hospital was the doctor (from Emory, Dr. Jarad Allen) who did my surgery. The night after my surgery, I was woken up to ask if I needed any (narcotic) pain meds. I told them no, but I would take just a tylenol. The nurse told me that was not on my list from my doctor and she would have to see if he would give it to me. 5 hours later, the doctor comes in and asks my pain level. By THIS time, I NEEDED the harder pain meds. The staff is rude and do NOT care about you. Discharge was another 4-5 hours. Ridiculous!
My husband have been visiting grady hospital for over five year now he is a outer patient there the care the nurses and doctor's give him is excellence can't asked for a better care. Also in 2005 i was admitted in grady hospital for three week the nurses and doctor's treated me so well i could not asked for a better care ,for the waiting period in the emergency room they can try to improve it a little as for the bath room the patients can keep them clean they are the one using them they don't expect nurses or doctors or house keeping to go in and clean up after every patient and for those who is saying the hospital is dirty they can sign up and do some volunteer work there to make the hospital a better place
If i could give this place a negative for workplace environment I would. Staff members are constantly bullied and sometimes physically assaulted by other staff members. There is constant verbal abuse among staff members against other staff members. When you take your complaints to management and HR they don't do a damn thing. Will still allow staff members who bully and harass other staff members to continue to there employment with out any consequences at all. The moral is low, the pay is low, no chances of career advancement at all, and management pretends like everything is ok. Will turn a blind eye on the real issues and refuses to address the real issues, management is very petty will focus on things that really don't matter or even try to boost the moral. I love my patient's at Grady and helping them is what I love to do. I warn anyone seeking employment at Grady if you love to be bullied, physical and verbally abused, like weak leadership, no room for growth this is the place for you. If not please go to an organization like Emory, Piedmont or Northside that will take care of and listen to there employees!!!!
I at the hospital at this moment in the emergency room their are homeless people everyware with bags like their at an airport and when I get to the back the lady who take my blood sample missed my vein and decides to take the sample from my hand with out wraping my arm on top of that that they want me to sent next to pookie from new jack city .when I get ready to sit down their dryed blood on the table gross . This is my very first time in this hospital I have know reasonil to Lie This has been a scary ex :
Thanks to the team on the 4th floor maternity ward delivered my baby at 10:58 am 08/30 wonderful staff
On the mother and baby wing nurse Amy and nurse Smith took care of by baby and i.. all the staff was amazing... from the patient tech, baby nurse, my nurse ... everybody else..
Thanks a lot..
Sharmane RN (has her last name covered on her badge) in triage has the WORST attitude. Zip and St.Clair at the patient checkin desk also have the worst people skills in the world.I am here for chest pains and its like unless u make a scene they treat u in a condesending manner as if u are not as hurt or in pain as u say. They treat patients as if the are not human as if all of us are homeless and just making up symptoms for a place to rest. No sense of privacy or dignity. I asked the African nurse for a heating pad he acted as if I was speaking another language. Grady hires the worst of the worst.. These people may have the credentials but they are rude and nasty individuals with no real interest in helping people. I have been observing them fir the past 3 hrs and everyone around me agress these people are terrible. They are the ones who give grady a bad name. When i go to appts at clinics my service is never like this.
Went to this place on 3/31 after a bad car accident. All they did in the ER was give me two Tylenol pills and an x-ray on my shoulder. I had to ask for the x-ray to be done... I damn near fell out just standing because no one offered me a chair to sit down. My right arm is still messed up and I may have nerve damage. My shin is still swollen, they never attemped to look at my leg. Never tended to the gash on my forehead. They were too busy walking around blah instead of tending to patients. I wish the accident hadn't occured near this hospital. I'll stick with Dekalb Medical (Emory) and Piedmont.
My son was tranfered from Macon Georgia Medical hospital for the second massive stroke. The doctor was very patient telling us our options. They operated on him immediately. He survived and lives on his own.
He was 40 years old and seven years later he walks up to six miles a day when the weather permits. Thanks to the doctor who saved his life. My son had cancer at three years old. He still makes me proud of at all he overcome without giving up
I went there today 1/16/17 at 11am got my blood drawn and they told me it would be 2 hours for my results to come back. So 3 hours go by I ask about my results the nurse said they wasn't back yet. So I continue to wait and then I go back , and by this time it has been 5 hours they tell me that my lab work was back and that I was waiting to be put into a room. Then I was waiting another 2 hours for that. So I ask the nurse again what's taking so long she said I needed one more test so I say you said all my lab work was back and I was only waiting on a room but now you're telling me they are waiting for another test to come back she said nothing after that. So 8:30 comes and I go back up there and asked the lady how much longer do I have to wait and she said at least 4/5 hours so tell the lady that I'm leaving she didn't care at all, she didn't even look at me again when I walked to the desk. I was sitting with multiple people who had been waiting all day. This was a bad experience. Very poor service.
This hospital is mentally ill and the worst idiot pit you could ever fin on the planet. I got there at 11:30 a.m. waited 2 hrs for the vitals. waited until 11:30 p.m. to be seen by in processing physician waited 30mins for them to take two tubes of blood and a cup of urine. Waited until 1:30 a.m. for a doctor to come into a room fro the doctor to explain my test results. He comes in with paperwork but backs right out and comes back without paper work. With a STRANGE attitude tells me that nothing was wrong with me. Although I had come in because of blood and white elements in my urine and other uncomfortable medical issues. He looked angry over wait he claimed was negative results? He asked why I came in and what "I" thought was wrong with me? I told him I didn't know and that was his job but gave him a history to be helpful. He does not touch me or look for anything. leaves claiming to get an assistant for further examination and never comes back. I ask him for my paper work he says he working on some thing and he had called someone down to talk me. I told I just want the paper work and I would go home. He tells me I can not leave without talking to someone else or I can leave without my paperwork. With an attitude. I am shocked when at 4:45 a.m. psychiatry comes in asking why I was upset. I told them I just wanted my paper work so I can go home, I need to check my health in case of something serious. I have a son to make sure he is okay. That went right over their heads. They leave . Nurse comes in asking me personal question which should have been on the test. Claiming the blood test were not taken, when they had been taken. She ask for vaginal swab, urine, and blood test again. I said no to blood test. Thinking they were trying to be slick about something. After not bring me my paperwork still at this point. At 6:40 a.m. doctor comes back with some other papers with result readings from the new urine and vagina test and some questionable blood results written in code. He gives me paper work about me having psychological sick issues that were not real.
Wow. We have waited for HOURS in the trauma center. Do yourself a favor....go to Atlanta Medical Center.
I am writing two reviews with mixed ratings. The reason for this rating is due to parking (-0- stars) and Quality of Care/ICU Stroke Dept) (5 stars).
My family is extremely appreciative to the 8th Floor ICU Unit. The quality of care is fantastic. The patience and knowledge of their staff is SUPERIOR. There is not enough stars to Thank the staff. A special Thank You to Lea and Erica, you two are " Truly Gems" of your unit a and Grady Hospital is extremely fortunate to have you on their team. 5 STARS!
The parking lot allows people to park in handicap spots WITHOUT disability tags. I have reported this several times to parking attendants, police and the front desk, but they have taken NO ACTION. -0- STARS
If you are coming to the hospital with anyone, you will need to drop them off. If you are a handicap driver, you are out of luck. Additionally, there are -0- benches, sit down on the steps and their security guards throw you off of them!
Discharged Friday, March 4, 2016. Had to call Nurse Advice today. Extremely rude, nasty females. I can't believe you are supposed to be helping people! You gals are awful!!!!
Not helpful, never have parking, I have had to reschedule appointment after wasting my gas to go all the way down there.
Well ... I was called urgently. To Clairmont hospital !! For my doctor. From there I was referred to the other emergency hospital. It was a difficult situation. Since I arrived I was very well taken care of, everyone was excellent. Doctors etc. He had given me a heart attack. They made me a catheterization !! The specialist cardiologists behaved in one thousand wonders. They treated me excellent from the most more! The person who evaluates and agrees. I don't have money, they gave me everything for not having resources. I thank everyone for Grady's blessings and thank you very much.
Worst hospital ever. I went in here to get a neurology to approve us get more refills for a medication my wife needs. They told us to wait in the emergency room and we waited there 6 hours straight not food or drink i told them that all i needed was more refill and they still made me wait 6 hours to see the neurologist . At the end i did get what i needed...3 days later I receive a bill from grady saying i need to pay 2,325 dollars for a simple visit. This hospital is the worst, dirty, rude, and for most part they love to waste people time, when i was seating in there emergency alot of poeple that need attention had to wait long hours in pain. When i they finally pass me to the back i saw a bunch of nurse just having conversations and laughing. I will never come to this hospital ever.
Great Hospital, don't let anyone tell you different!
I have to give at least 1star but wish I could take that away, worst experience ever
I'll forever hate Grady for treating me less of a person because I am muslim by 3 different people n when I reported no one reached out to me. I did more than once n they promised they would n til this day. Nothing.
I came to Atlanta for work and got really sick with unusual pains so someone called ambulance I could hardly walk they had me pee sample found nothing gave me 5 prescriptions for pain and pushed me out the door..another hospital found UTI and now I'm in their cancer unit
I recently moved to Atlanta and was told I should come to Grady hospital. I am 5 months pregnant and and was rushed to Grady on the ambulance as soon as I arrived I was dropped off in the waiting room due to the lack of rooms after waiting 6 hours I was finally put in a room. After being put in a room I still had to sit and wait 2 more hours to even have my vitals checked. The room felt like a jail cell. After having my vitals checked I was told I didn't have enough fluid in my placenta and could have lost my baby from lack of fluid. After being told this It took them 10 minutes I discharge Me and give me a prescription and that I could leave ... At 4:45am the next day after waiting that long. I will NEVER attend this hospital again. I would NEVER recommend this hospital to anyone .. they are unorganized unprofessional and one of the worse hospitals I have ever been too in my life.. while in the waiting there were women on the floor 40 weeks pregnant almost in labor because there was no where else to sit in the waiting room .... I repeat please do not go to Grady hospital.!!
Had a great delivery and birthing experience! Would definitely recommend. I Couldn t have asked for better staff!!
My uncle has been sitting in this hospital for for 2 days with a piece of metal wedged in his head some way some how. Scans have been taken and still there is no answer as to what to do next. No-one has come in to check on him even after his monitor was unplugged. (I know because we are on a video call as I write. Having a career in healthcare
I am well aware of what patient centered care should look like, this is not it!
He hasn't been served a decent meal. A turkey sandwich in a plastic wrapper was given to him and I guess that was supposed to be acceptable. This is not acceptable treatment for any human being in a healthcare facility. This is by far the worst hospital I have ever heard of.
I visited Grady on May 27 in the evening. The Staff gets 5 stars for their impeccable service. Everyone from Security to Registration to EKG/ECG to Bloodraw/Lab to Discharge did a great job. Security thouroughly checked my bag which was greatly appreciated. If I had been someone who had a weapon and malicious intent, they would have stopped me. Bravo. The ladies at the ER Registration desk deserve so much more than just stars for maintaining professional composure during that overwhelming time, in an environment that sometimes produces belligerent patients/belligerent attitudes from family members. I know maintaining professionalism is part of their job description, and that's what they get a check for, but they deserve something extra... a monthly bonus of some sort, like extra cash...extended paid vacation...free groceries for a month...paid mortgage/rent for a year..etc. Awesome job ladies. EKG/ECG/Lab...keep up the professionalism and sense of humor!! Discharge..great personality and nice attitude. I know it's not always easy dealing with the public. I appreciate each and every one of you and all you do to try to make Grady great. However...the Grady ORGANIZATION needs some drastic improvements in other areas. AREA 1: IMAGE. There are ENTIRELY TOO MANY HOMELESS people loitering, laying on sidewalks, harrassing visitors, crowding the bus stop but not even riding the bus, and trashing your campus. That's unacceptable. Do something about it. I come from a city that had 5 major hospitals and not one of them allowed such appalling activity within a 5 mile radius. AREA 2: TRIAGE WAIT TIME. *sigh* 16+ hrs is inexcusable. Do better. Hire more Dr.s, PAs, or NPs, or whatever. Figure something out and just do better.
The sevice is good but takes a long time for service but really nice people also have no signs on what your not supposed to do
Terrible no help.government run rather go to Mexico. Waiting time for nothing. Never again stayed in pain waiting 12hours.
i appreciate Grady and what they do for those you do not have health insurance
Worst experience ever in an emergency department. I smashed my thumb in my car door and it took them 9 hours to even "help" me. They also completely disregarded everything I was going through. They ended up doing nothing for me. They didn't even take my insurance down and just sent me the whole bill. When I called the finance department, they told me they could not do anything and that I had to just pay the bill. They refused to take my insurance and told me I had to do it myself. If I could give them a zero, I would. AVOID THIS EMERGENCY AT ALL COST!!
Be careful with your money here because they will steal it, my mom had her money stolen last year over 3k while in the emergency room. Evil people low down people works there.
Try and not deliver food to here yall they never tip
It was a serious condition (asthma) that brought me to Grady Memorial Hospital Atlanta Ga ER. Once admitted I found after 4 days as a patient that one PCT Patient Care Technician that stood out in professionalism, timed response, who put alot of effort towards getting it right the first time. That would be PCT Eulene 4th floor. Thank YOU
I m pregnant and my roommate came home and Said that they tested positive for COVID 19 I went to the emergency room to see if I could be tested seeing as I m pregnant and the nurse denied me entrance to the hospital and told I had to go somewhere else to be tested because I am not showing symptoms of COVID 19. Also the wait times at Grady is unacceptable. The nurses just walk around and talk to each other instead of helping patients calling for help, doctors take hours to come and see you and then leave you unattended without explanation for hours. I would not recommend this hospital unless you are absolutely broke and that s just because this is a low income hospital.
Usually when you go to the emergency room its an emergency. Usually the patient is sick, in pain, or cant move. At Grady they dont respect that. They make you go through a metal detector, go through your purse like they lost their keys, and nearly strip search you with the wand. They were unfriendly and meh. It's a difference in being tired and hating your job. They need a class on customer service and sensitvity to patients in pain. Especially the crew that works at the 6am hour.
Very helpful staff. A nurse by the name of Sabrina P. was very sweet and helpful.
The doctors are good but as for the nursing staff and patient care,I've never been so disrespected and treated like I was a nobody by the staff that I will go to any length to see that no one else is treated like this again.
Grady is the worst place to be in, with the least sense of professionalism. People higher up, thinks that Grady is their monopoly and dictate their staff like a hitler. To be a manager in Grady, u donot even need to have a bachelor's degree, all u need is white skin and blond hair!!!
The employees is so rude to pts and the doctors is also rude bed side manners is horrible at grady hospital and the other clinics also the LPN and nurses attitude is horrible the bathrooms is nasty blood is always on the floor and on the walls the staff always standing in the halls gossiping about pts and each other be hollaring all up and the down the halls the staff don't wash their hands when coming in to the rooms when touching sick people are after touching sick people the staff is horrible the chairs in the waiting area needs to be wipe down the walls is nasty the people at the front desk don't get out of their chairs to do paper work they roll from one end to next sitting in their chairs just lazy on their part it's aweful medical service at grady hospital the er is nasty also they just forget about you blood is every where you know housekeeping can clean all that up in a timely manner but don't
My friend is being treated at the Rheumatology Center at Grady. We have interfaced with many different departments due to tests. In every visit we are amazed by the number of NICE people we have encountered. From the security guard in the garage to the intake receptionist, everyone has gone out of their way to be courteous and helpful. I am extremely impressed with the care she has received from the doctors and nurses. We have never waited more than 15 minutes. Thanks to all who are working so hard and still taking the time to be so nice. I give Grady 5 stars!
Grady failed me. I had an operation on my throat to cut away some calcified tendon due to something called "Eagle Syndrome" and it was useless and painful. I'm still dealing with pain, 5 visits later, throughout the left side of my throat/head and I don't know what to do.
The hospital is a perfect example of Affirmative Action ran amok spreading through our country , Everyone should be fired and replaced.
Grady's Trauma Unit saved my cousin's life!!!! Thank you, from my entire family!
Dear God,
I am a GRADY BABY and PROUD OF IT!!!
Amen
(UPDATE)
Grady Health System Is One of my
Best Friends Ever.
Lord Jesus,
Remember Grady For The Very GOOD...
Amen
The wait times, are horrible. 5 hour wait in the emergency room. Once you re finally in the back it s smooth. But, the employees are really understanding and easy going.
Negative 5 Stars. Horrible... spent 15 hours in excruciating pain,Bad Gallbladder... asked numerous times to be seen and said I am dying..."Sit down sir your vitals are fine." I left at 5:30 am after spending the night with Atlanta's finest homeless people.
Thank God for Wellstar Cobb. They literally saved my life.
Came into the hospital for a delicate situation with my friend. Staff was so greenly unprofessional in the emergency room. They acted as if the patients were annoying and doing them a disservice by even being there. Employees complained about each other in front of patients, completed about patients in front of patients, complained about everything that was their actual JOB, and gave me much less certainty in them should a serious circumstance arise. Hire better staff. A staff that actually cares. I would stay far far away from this hospital if you can, do not trust them with yours or anyone you love s life.
From start to finish, the experience is horrible. The nurses doing intake are very rude and unprofessional. The wait is ridiculous. If you're not dying, do not waste your time.
IF YOU HAVE SICKLE CELL DO NOT COME TO GRADY !!!! GO TO EMORY OR PIEDMONT !!! I don't even know where to start. I wish I could give the Sickle Cell center a negative star ! The sickle cell acute center either needs to be shut down or get some new doctors and nurses. The nurses are so rude it's ridiculous and they play around too much ! It's a joke! My brother has been to Grady three times in one week and all they did was send him home in severe pain !!!! He could barly walk, let alone even stand but Grady didn't care and this isn't the first time it's happened !!! ALL the African nurses are GHETTO. All they do is talk, laugh and don't even check on the patients. When my brother got his lab results back they claimed that everything was okay three times! No blood work was done just an X-ray. I knew something wasn't right because he kept going back. I finally sent him to piedmont and of course they are 1000000x better then dirty Grady. Piedmont did blood work, X-rays and more test and come to find out he has an infection all through out his body and his white blood cells are so low he could've had heart complications !!! GRADY NEEDS TO BE SUED! I'll never send my brother to Grady ever again. They don't listen and they don't care...If It wasn't for Piedmont doing there job my brother would've been in serious trouble...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME COMING TO THE SICKLE CELL ACUTE CENTER !!!! THEY DON'T KNOW ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING ABOUT SICKLECELL !! The only thing they're gonna do is treat you like a druggy and kick you out after your last dose of medicine despite if you're still in serious pain.
so i was over ran by walker's outside of atalanta, locked myself in a house , sat down and waited to die. I passed out from dehydration and woke up here. They won't let me go because they say i owe them something, would give it 1 star but the guinea pig they cook is pretty good.
Cafeteria on the second floor , price very good, very good quality and service... open to the Public
The worst hospital. Never answers phone calls especially financial services
I can t say enough good things about Dr. Larry Hobson and his surgical team. Hobson, a bariatric surgeon has the bedside manner of a prince, explaining details of what I would experience and timeline for healing from my hernia repair surgery. He likes non invasive surgery and I m all for science and robotics. This was outpatient surgery a little over six weeks ago. I am in no pain and feel great. They just opened a Camp Creek facility which is stellar. I ve always been treated with respect and concern by Grady staff.
I don't know about medical care because I only went for mental health. In that emergency department there are some messed up things going on. The rooms for the patients look like prison rooms. There's no beds. It's a hard chair with an ottoman. My experience wasn't great. When they put me in a room I started to panic. The door was cracked. Then someone came in. When they left they closed the door all the way. I panicked even more because I thought I was locked in. I ran out of the room. Standing close to the door I asked why they closed the door. They said that it's supposed to be closed all the way and to get back in the room. I asked why. They told me to get back in the room before they have to lock me in there. When they said that I panicked more. Then a security officer came up to me. I hit the gray wall that they use for a cubical. The officer then grabbed me by the back of my gown and drug me to the room with the bed. I was pull away from him. I fall on the floor and everyone piles on me holding me on the ground. They pull the bed out of the room and put me on the bed. At that point I was screaming. I feel someone reach and grab my throat. They quickly let go and I didn't see who it was. I screamed and asked who it was. They got the bed back in the room. I said something else about the hand around my throat. And a man wearing a G4S jacket and hat looked at me and said "do you want me to choke you?" Then wrapped his hand around my neck and choked me. It was only for about 10 seconds then he let go. I was in a restraint and they all walked out and just left me. There was another time there was a man who I later found out had severe mental health issues. He would act out and such. One of the males stated that "there are no cameras in the rooms" as if he was going to hurt him or something. They were talking about the man. How he always showed out and never listened. But that's my experience.
I was there for 3 days, not one time was my room cleaned. When the other lady in my room was discharged, they put sheets back on bed, without spraying it. I was not given my meds while I was there. ...and to top it off I was forced to walk out of the hospital, after having major surgery. I was told no wheel chairs was available.
...and they forgot about feeding me one meal.
Terrible experience!!##
Very slow service. Rude workers that don t want to answer questions but yet work for healthcare services knowing they will be asked a thousand questions. Overall I would not recommend anyone here
Julia Phillips is the worst!!! I hope to NOT see her back here ever again. While me and my family are dealing with a serious medical emergency. She doesn't connect me over to someone who will help me or give me a call back. While she is screaming over me and cussing to make it worse.

Grady is Grady they not the best when its comes to timing but they have good care (primary & parental care is all I know of) . Before you get surgery please research your surgeon unfortunately I know someone who had their kidney vein cut by mistake during a full hysterectomy & ruined that person"s life and they weren't able to sue because Grady makes sure they cover their behind.(that surgeon no longer works at Grady surprising they have their own practice)
The service is very slow they will have u waiting almost your whole entire day and then the people who come in after you get there name called before yours.........worst hospital ever
Would give zero. Here for chest pains and heart attack symptoms and still waiting after 4hours. Treating people with coughs before an emergency as serious as chest pains/heart attack symptoms.
Grady Hospital is one of the best Trama Hospital I know especially when your life depends on their care.
Worst Hospital Ever I Got Here At 7pm And Still Here At 6:26am
This place is far the worst hospital I ever been too....nobody matters here....best bet is to drive to Northside or Gwinnett medical
Had and appointment for a rountine mammogram. My appt. was at 1:50 PM
and I'm still waiting. People in front of me been down here since 11 am and just got seen.
.
The staff at Grady's NICU is unprofessional. Some of the nurses there are great and kind, but it was the doctors, one of the receptionists, and one of the Social Workers (Mrs. Dimant) that were not nice at all. One nurse had gotten smart with my husband and the male receptionist was telling information that was not to be told to people that were not a part of my son's care. I would not recommend any one else to their NICU facility.
Baby alive besides that their staff need to realize just cause they old and. We young don't give them the right to think they smarter than they Know they are. We whole grown humans before u accuse somebody of something ask them even if its so simple as closing a door. Specifically for y'all lonely desperate ass old black women here.
Currently at Grady as a heart patient on the 5th floor. I've been here since Wednesday afternoon after being hospitalized and released from Emory midtown the same day. Emory released me knowing that my heart was in distress. I called a Uber, left the hospital and headed straight to Grady. They were quick to access my situation and acted accordingly to save my life. Now I will say that some of the nurses and techs could use a class in customer service and even an attitude adjustment. But overall, if your life is in danger, no other hospital is more dedicated to saving you than Grady. They might be slow and have issues with certain employees at times but they are sure of themselves and that's what counts. It makes the difference between life and death! And I'm eternally grateful for life and will now be on the road to recovery! May God bless Grady because Atlanta Really Cannot Live Without It!
Beware they will send a separate bill if your doctor is an Emory physician! Received another bill for 2k just because the doctor doesn t technically work for Grady. BS
