The service itself is pretty awful. It s impossible to get anything to run without lag or minutes worth of buffering and that s with no other devices being used in the apartment. Not to mention it s the only provider that our community allows. Customer service recommends resetting the router every week for maximum speed but if anything that makes it slower. I didn t think at&t could be beat in trash service but google did it pretty easily.

With everything going on at this time I would think companies would be a little understanding. My bill is scheduled for 8/13, I tried calling Google fiber customer service but was on hold for over 23 minutes so I hung up. I finally got on to use the chat option and asked for an extension of 2 days (8/15). I was told Google fiber does not allow any changes or extensions. I need 2 freaking days and they can t give me that. I have been with Google Fiber since they came to Austin and I can t believe this is how they are handling my request!
They will cancel your service immediately if someone else accidentally signs up at your same address. I live in a large apartment complex so it s likely a new resident signed up under the wrong apartment number. No questions asked they ll just email you to return your stuff. In shock, since I work from home, I called customer service and they said it ll take two days to investigate. So since some random person accidentally typed in the wrong address I have to find somewhere else to work for the next two days at least.
I would give Google Fiber 0-stars if possible. I live in Austin, and I've been trying for over a month to get Google to do a simple fiber install on their own infrastructure, and it has been a complete waste of time and effort. They have no clue what they're doing. I have a Google fiber distribution panel 10' away from my exterior wall and they can't figure out how to get me connected. Their agents will say whatever you want to hear so they can move on to the next chat. Escalating to a Supervisor is just as bad - they don't take ownership of anything. Google fiber told me their construction crew would call me at least 4 times and nobody has ever attempted to contact me. Pathetic attempt at trying to be a fiber provider.
Was excited to get into Fiber when it was first starting. After being a loyal customer for years they've decided to up their prices without providing a lower cost option. We don't all need 1000+mbps, wish one of these companies would stick to one price instead of making us change services every year.
Two weeks ago today I came home to a sign in front of my house that stated no parking with a picture of a tow truck on it. No reference as to where it came from. I moved my 3 cars as to not get towed. The next day there was obvious signs Google fiber cut into the street asphalt to tie into my google fiber line (which is fine, they have the right) It didn't look like they were finished (picture) but the sign was thrown down in my front yard (picture), so I assumed they were. I went to move my cars back and found one of tires had been vandelized (picture). I waited 2 days and still the sign was on my grass. I moved the sign to the rocks as it was starting to kill the grass. At this point I was a little fed up. I called to cancel my google fiber and have the signed picked up. The gentleman was very nice and stated what happened to me was not right and asked if he could elevate it. I said sure and asked to be reimbursed for my tire He gathered my info and was able to credit me $25. I was contacted a couple days later and told me it would have to have it investigated. I said fine, can you at least pick up the sign. I emailed him pictures and told him about my $25 credit and was just seeking the difference. I recieved a phone call today and was told they would not be paying for the tire. I said ok, can you pick up the sign. The sign is still in front of my house 2 weeks later. Just got home from replacing my tire $108. Tomorrow I will be ordering Spectrum and as soon as it is installed I will cancel google fiber. Sad to think google fiber lost a customer over $83 (already received $25) Funny thing is I was talking to my next door neighbor and he said he has been waiting over a year to get google fiber. The work they did, did not run a line to his house. They stopped a house short. My remonnendation, if you come home to a sign in front of your house. Move the sign, not your cars because they will not take responsibility if anything happens. Oh, and after this my neighbor has decided to stay with Spectrum, so 2 customers lost.....so far. Tim Nagel

'-i tried to give google fiber a chance ,i had ping issues and they kept blaming my pc my phone and systems,i built a brand new pc '' knowing its not my end the issues are bad'' and once i built the pc same problems,had several techs supervisors,all still blaming my end,i told them the ping in my own state was way to high... should be 10-20 maybe even 5 since its '' fiber'' but sure dont feel like it at all!! so i get spectrums service ,guess what!! i ping low again and nice!!!! so i try to despute the unauthorized payment and the professional google cannot give my money back ,they charged for sept even after i froze this account!!! they only want to offer credit ,this is 2020 and the great google cant help out the customers ,the REP alyssa tells me ''Unless you choose to resume service, then the credit will apply to your bill when billing resume'' do i want to go from a good connection back to googles terrible ping and routing?? no ..i want my money back especially with this pandemic going on. smh!!!!!!!!! DONT USE GOOGLE FIBER ~
you can prettend you care about the customers replying to these reviews but you dont take care of anything,so for you guys to see the reply no they didnt fix a damn thing. just dont get google fiber. its trash for gaming
