Ate at the seafood buffet on a Friday night. Price was good but food was just OK. Crab legs were good, most of the other items were bland or just generally not very good. The beef roast was criminally overdone. In retrospect I'd have gladly spent double the money on one of the higher end buffets. Service was good and drinks were cheap, restaurant was clean and the casino seemed nice.

Love this location and the food at the hotel was wonderful everywhere. The rooms were very spacious and clean. If I had one complaint it would be that the bartenders in the casino in the morning and afternoon are not friendly at all! they are grumpy old men! We like to have a coffee and baileys at the bar in the morning but after the second day with this group of non friendly grouches we went down to the D and sat at their bar in the morning. They were so pleasant and friendly! Time to change your bartenders at the casino bar I think. We would have spent a lot more money at time at the bar
Stayed at the hotel for a powerlifting meet. Everything went smoothly, the staff was very helpful. Everything was clean. Had a great time and will definitely come back.
Maid never put clean drinking glasses in our room each day. She never replaced the plastic bag in the ice bucket and left it full of melted ice. No balcony on the Rush tower suites, no coffee pot (you would think a suite would have a coffeemaker) but the room was roomy and comfortable. Room service was great.
I thought this was a nice hotel, rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The issues that we ran across is that the resort part was closed down to us do to maintenance, yet we still were charged an extra $20 a day for a resort fee. How can you charge a fee when we were not able to to access it? My other problem I have is that my sunglasses were taken from my room. I called their post and found, and can't even get as much as a call back from them. Location is great right in the heart of the Fremont Street experience. Because of the hidden fees, and the lack of customer service on my missing sunglasses, I'm not sure if I'd stay here again or not. If the Golden Nugget contacts me and tries to correct this, I will update my review, and raise my rating.
What a treat, my brother suggested we stay here and I am very glad we did. The pool is amazing, the up keep us topnotch. This hotel is located in old vegas. Not many nice hotels in this area.
My brother said the only reason Fremont made such a big come back is because of the Golden Nugget. If you love a lively crowd with an amazing atmosphere stay at the Nugget.
Really kind of disappointed in this hotel. We booked two nights with them, walked into our room and there was a dirty sock on the floor and bobby pins on the floor, because of the pandemic you would think they would have everything super clean. It wasn t! The bath tub was also dirty. They did move us into another room but I just didn t want to stay here. I hope they are really cleaning their rooms.
Just a guest for the day. Amazing seafood restaurant. Much better gaming than strip. Really cool pool with card tables outside by the pool. Check it out!
Absolutely loved this hotel! The rooms were beautiful, the staff was more than friendly and we NEVER waited for anything if we called the front desk. Also, we loved the buffet they have upstairs... bloody marys for $4 during breakfast, and they actually have a bloody mary bar to make your own!! It was not expensive at all!
Many people tend to write off the Golden Nugget and I never understood why. I think it's an excellent choice, wonderful value, and upgrades. Please consider
Pretty as casinos go, and great service. Plus the pool area here is unique with the shark tank and it has a nice fire pit area. Oh and there's a chik fil a! Plus 2 on-property Starbucks.
I am local to Vegas. I enjoy the little bar on the main floor close to the Fremont Street side. They have live music and lounge style seating. It is free to enter but has a drink minimum (1 or 2, not exactly sure). It has decent air circulation and doesn't allow cigars.
We had to stay in a smoking room our first night, they did not have non-smoking. I barely got any sleep. We spent the next morning getting our stuff together and calling to get a non smoking room instead of enjoying the city. The room was clean the people at the front desk were snooty, never cracked a smile.
Do NOT go to this hotel- It was an awful experience. The rooms are tired and need renovations, but that, I can deal with. The customer service was HORRIBLE. We needed 2 beds as we booked for 2 adults and 1 child (9 yo) and when we checked in, the agent confirmed it was a 2 bedded rooms, but when we got to the room, it only had 1. I went to the front desk and was told (by Kacey the manager on duty, I guess.....) that in order to move rooms it would be $30 or a cot would be $30- INSANE- We were there to help Vegas out over Covid and they did nothing to help. The pool was a joke, nothing is open, and they had very little staff members - the hotel should NOT be open!
Super slow wifi, half time not even work. Next time I won't stay here for business trips. I asked for refrigerator and never showed up. You will wake up middle of night if the person next door decides to shower. The only thing that I like here is Grottos
This aging hotel has been around and you can tell. It's old Vegas at its finest. There were some things that easily overlooked and some that were not. Our shower control would not stay on a temperature that was comfortable. The handle would flop straight down to cold. It did have a catch when turned straight up, but that was the setting to boil lobsters with. The beds were air mattress quality, if you like half empty air mattresses. The hotel does warn you of Clark County's room tax when you make your reservation on line. They do this in a tiny fine print that is too hard to see and goes largely unnoticed. The tax is not the hotels fault, but inadequate warning that you will pay an extra $150 at check in is their fault. You get $50 back at checkout, I am not sure why it even gets charged. Every trip throgh the lobby and casino you will be accosted by the time share people that want send you to a show if you just go to their soul sucking time share presentation. IF you are lucky you will get to hear an outdoor concert just next door to the hotel all night. The walls are so thin, it's like being right inside the amplifier. The best thing is the constant run of loud motorcycles and crappy little cars with ridiculously loud mufflers that race up and down the street all evening before the outdoor concert starts and continue on into the late night and early morning. All these things ensure that you will beat that bout with narcolepsy, so I guess if you are trying to beat narcolepsy, the Golden Nugget is a 4 star kinda place.
Its such a wonderful experimence staying here. The location is perfect and near all significant sightseeings of Vegas. The room has pretty decoration, convenient furniture and cozy atmosphere. Service is fantastic and friendly.
Was not an overnight guest. Walked through to check out the casino and decor. This is located in old Vegas / Fremont Street. Decor is like many casinos, stuck in the 1970's. Nothing special, in my opinion, but probably great in it's heyday.
This is the Golden Angus! Not the Golden Nugget. I've never paid so much for such lousy service and fair to middling food. Super disappointing. First, the restaurant was not welcoming--half of our party was five minutes late, and the hostess had a lot to say about about our reservation, towering over while we drank stale wine on the red leather sofas--still not sure what she needed. When we finally were allowed to go to our table, it was the type of booth which required lengthy scooting, which isn't terrible, except that the cushion had lost its spring so the table was chest high. Fine, so it's an old broken down place, a little uncomfortable, but this could have been offset by good food and professional and attentive waitstaff. Instead, Curly and Moe ineptly took our drink order, then clumsily took it again, and managed to be either interrupting the table conversation or absent for refills. We had to ask repeatedly for the bottle of wine "on ice" somewhere out of sight. Tableside Caesar salad was fun to watch and tasted like what was in it--worcestershire and Tabasco, mostly. The corn fed ribeye steak was greasy and meh. Finally, the bill came, and the waiter refused to split it. He said, just mark which ones are yours, then requested we subtotal this and explain how to handle tax. All this discussion was at the table, then (this sealed the one star rating) he whipped out an Applebee's-style portable credit card reader and ran both cards standing at the table, credit slips flying everywhere, bending over and helpfully pointing out (with his finger) how to add 15, 20, 25% tip. He said "tip" out loud! (I used the "other amount" key.) Who thinks this is appropriate for fine dining? I'm so embarrased for this establishment. Unfriendly, incompetent, average food. Never going back and not recommended.
Did the buffet. It Was good but not extravagant. Average price for the strip anymore @$25 per person. The Golden Nugget is a little dated but that is fine, as there are enough new properties on the strip if that is what you are looking for.
Ehhh.. That's what I have to say about Golden nuggets Friday night... The food wasn't horrible...but the overall value was bad... Not enough selection and the most expensive menu item...the crab legs.... Weren't precut so you have to do all of the work... Clever... That must be their strategy to get you to eat less of them... I dunno about you.. But if I'm paying 30+ $ for my meal... I expect more.
My first time staying off of the main Vegas strip and it was enjoyable. Much more relaxed and easier to navigate than the strip. The Fremont Street Experience is something to behold. It is a completely different crowd, it's cheaper and likely more family friendly.
I paid about $625 for 3 days, my hotel room was messy and worn down, there s random tape on the walls, some of the lights and outlets don t work, there is no fridge or microwave, no coffee maker, the cable is just regular tv not even actual cable. Our view was terrible and the hotel staff is snippy. They basically just ride on their name. Their fish tank is cool that s about it.
Expectional service all around! We ordered room service several times, delivery to our room was quick and the fold was absolutely delicious! Beds were very comfortable and the pool area was spectacular! Highly recommend staying here during your Vegas trip!
One of the nicest hotels in downtown. Smaller casino but easy to get everywhere. Lots of good food and restaurant options nearby. Pool was fun but could be larger. Overall, a good place to stay.
The Golden Nugget exceeded our expectations. We don't even know why or how but we got room upgrades, certificates for 4 free buffets, and VIP passes. We have never even started here before. The pool was awesome and the kids LOVED the shark tank waterslide. This hotel also had the best shampoo and conditioner I have used my entire trip.. actually separate shampoo and conditioner, not combined and it was good stuff. Little thing but makes a huge difference with my hair.
I told my boss that all hotels for business trips must now include a water slide through a shark tank. I was told no.
Spacious updated rooms, comfy beds. Not only close to the action, it's right in the middle of it. Resort fee is typical at this property beyond rate and security deposit.
If you're looking for the freakier side of Vegas, this is the place to be. Heading straight onto Fremont Street, you can experience the new, old, Vegas. Clean rooms, friendly staff, way cheaper than staying on strip. Well worth what you pay.
Fun place on Fremont st. Hot tub is great to soak away the sore feet or elbow after throwing dice all day. Sharks!!! Self parking is free if you are staying at the hotel and it s very close by. There can be a wait for the elevator right after checkout to get back to your car but a nice spot to have homebase.
When I was walking the Las Vegas streets like last week and during the day it would get so hot that I would faint I don't know how if you've been there I don't know how you survived how eucalypt there to be able to enjoy the weather the weather is nasty in Vegas the shelters were okay the people were okay some of the stuff was kind of rude why didn't take it personal I just left alone and went about my business and I don't know if I should go back again it's really ducted to do out there but Gamble and lose
No amenities and expensive resort fees. Our room had a water leak and we had to be moved. Very inconvenient! Definitely better places to stay at less cost.
This is our go-to hotel downtown. It's pretty consistent with service and amenities.
We stayed over Labor Day weekend and checked in before check in time. It wasn't a problem at the front desk. We were upgraded to the Rush Tower I was happy about that since I've only stayed in the Carson and Gold Towers. We loved our room! I liked how the Rush Tower is at the back of the casino, so it's quiet. The room itself is lovely. I especially liked the bathroom. They do have a Keurig coffee machine in the room, but with Covid, they have removed the K-cups and coffee cups. The bed was only made with sheets, so after the first night, I found a thin comforter in a bag in the closet. That helped a lot with sleep the second night. We couldn't hear any Fremont Experience noise at night at all , which we enjoyed. Speaking of Fremont Experience, not the fault of the hotel, but I'm not sure what's going on, but the crowds down there were pretty rough. We've stayed downtown for years and I've never felt uncomfortable down there at night. We were honestly back in our rooms at night by 11pm. We just didn't want to be walking around on Fremont.
I didn't see any Covid measures being done at GN. No temps taken, except at check in. I didn't see any handwashing stations. Smoking is still permitted in the casino. There wasn't any housekeeping daily.
The pool was awesome, as usual. We knew there was going to be a big wait for the pool on a holiday weekend. Also, it was 110 degrees outside. We reserved a Hideout day bed one day and a Hideout cabana another day. Service at the Hideout was amazing! We had a great time being served by Alyssa and Sophie. They were the best! Security was present at the pool to monitor mask compliance and pool capacity. They were nice about it, but very vigilant. There was a guy who explained the mask rules and pool capacity guidelines. I parked my butt in the pool most of the time so I didn't have to wear a mask. It was so hot, why would anyone want to wear a mask at the pool in 111 degree weather. Not me, but I understand, rules are rules.
