Best hotel on Freemont, you know what you're getting on Freemont, no escape from the madness but decent value hotel compared to the strip casinos, really nice.
Went there to gamble and the Machines were very generous and the drinks kept coming steady. Also the poker room was nice although had pretty high wait times for tables
Shuffle machines broke down 3x at 3 different table games during busy time Saturday while I was playing, no reason to go back to GN for more of the same when other casinos maintain their equipment
Golden Nugget and Golden Gate are my favorite casinos on Freemont Street. You get the Freemont Street atmosphere, but in a cleaner and better kept casino. Gotta make it down here at least once every trip.
Nostalgic Vegas casino on the freemont strip! Winning slots!!! Loved it!
Friday night's they have some really good entertainment. Tickets are a lot less then on the strip.
Been here a few times and while they are trying to improve they are taking away from the charm of downtown Vegas. They are competing hard, upclassing the casinos and surrounding area which is nice but it sort of takes away from it. Mid day on a random Friday tables are $10, you can find some $5 but they are few and far between. In fact I walked up to a $5 table and when they handed me chips they raised it to $10 so I walked away.
Always love the Golden Nugget. Good drinks, friendly staff
Great casino.... drink service is not great... needs some looking at...but overall it okay!
I only been inside a couple Xs the last 2 Xs I came inside cause I just got out of jail
I stayed at Golden nugget in Las Vegas and at first was totally unhappy. The first room that I was given had a bed bug running around in the bathroom when we first entered the room. They gave us a upgrade to a better room in a better tower and 2 free tickets to the buffet. The room that they upgraded us to was
very nice and bug free, I know because i checked everywhere. Aldo, the front desk manager could've offer us more than he did, but I understood that the hotel have alot of business and losing one costumer isn't going to hurt there business. But I would stay here again, I'll just make sure I book a room in one of better towers.
The golden nugget casino Was very welcoming and had a great staff
Great place to stay! Downtown is a very fun place to be and is very easy to get to the Strip. Rooms are a nice size and the beds are comfy. There is no free WiFi. The pool is a nice size and has a slide through a shark tank!
I prefer quieter places, it was difficult to find the hotel lobby. Other than that, it was a quieter hotel than others I've stayed at in Vegas.
Great place super restaurants service on all levels great. This was our second year staying there we will be back next year same time same place.
Just excepted to get some extra charges even if u paid online. YOU have to pay a 34$ resort fee & a 50$ deposit. The casino part in the hotel is nice but our room ac was not working the 3days & 2 nights.
Nice view comfortable rooms great casino and staff. Awesome pool and aquarium. Overall had a very nice time.
Food was killer at vic and Anthony's.
This is where you eat.
We won 10 dollars on slots! It was a good time!
On downtown Vegas the street is busy and you'll definitely see some entertainment.
Rooms are not too bad, but our room was stuffy for some reason even we were running the ac and the weather was chilly. We would go out and when we returned it would feel stuffy each time don't know why. TV is way outdated and no option to hook electronics to the TV and stuck watching whatever is on. Internet was bad to, 1mbs for 2 devices only and free if you played resort fees? Come on. But it did serve its purpose as just a place for us to sleep. But we were a bit under the weather so we did spend quite some time in our room. Cleaning service was great. The casino is not so bad but honestly I didnt check it out too much as we hung out at the strip mostly. They did bring a mini fridge at no charge if your storing medication (insulin). Beds kinda small if sharing and if you're on the bigger side.
Horrible service I went to the bar put $20 in sat for $40 and never received a drink. There was four bartenders behind the bar walking in circles. I understand it's a pandemic and some people don't want to go back to work, but I'm not going wait to give away my money!
Would like to mention Derrick ( pool coordinator) for his excellent customer service. Very helpful and respectful!
Great if you are a smoker and like being inconvenienced.
In any other hotel they will check you in an hour or two early if they have rooms, not here.
Everything smells heavily of cigarette smoke.
Most upscale hotel/casino downtown, but not stuffy or stand-offish.
It's a nice place for the location. I just can not get used to playing a resort fee. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I still can not figure out the logic, the pool area wasn't even open. Not sure what my "resort fee" covered since the pool area was closed. I guess it is used to pay for the hallway to my room.
My husband and I stayed for a week and we had some great food. Seriously anywhere that wasn't in the golden nugget was disappointing after all the delicious food in the casino. The pool was awesome. We spent a ton of time there because it was such a great view. The beds were so awful. Absolutely no outlets besides in our bathroom. We were expecting a tub with jets and didn't get that. The house keeping never came. Every time our room was cleaned was when I had to call them and remind them that our room needed taken care of also. And most of the waiters at grotto's were unfriendly and unhelpful. But the food was really good at all the restaurants and the pool was great and the location is fantastic.
First time at the Golden Nugget and I am impressed. I have always stayed on the strip and was hesitant about staying on Freemont but I am so glad we took the chance. We were upgraded to a suite which is AMAZING, the pool is awesome and there are so many restaurants to choose from.
It's one of the nicer casinos in the area and adds rather than detracts from it. The location is prime for visiting and showing my visitors around without being too high foot traffic that I want to kill myself. Worth a visit for the history, the people watching, and the location.
First time staying here. Great rooms but a bit noisey depending on where you are in the hotel. We ate at 3 of the restaurants and they were all terrific. Great location on Fremont .
Huge Casino. Many Game Options. Ask about parking fee... we almost had to pay $50 for event parking for an even we weren't attending. Luckily we left 5 minutes before they were going to start charging the $50
Cheap rooms, decently friendly staff. Our room was not the cleanest I've ever been in. Good location on Fremont Street in downtown. Fun pool, better food options than most places we visited.
Best hotel in old Vegas. I love the nugget and the old charm. The staff is friendly and helpful and we just can t get enough of the tank in the pool area. So fun! The rooms are clean and the hotel is meticulously maintained inside and out. The casino staff are friendly and the front desk staff are so great and accommodating. We have already booked our return to this hotel on our next trip to Vegas.
Shark swimming in the middle tubing down the middle of them excellent! Excellent atmosphere and great people. Beautiful casino. I would advise make a point to stay at the golden nugget. You Will love it.
We just went to see the finger it was pretty cool. The place is a nice casino
I stayed here for my first visit to Vegas ever. I am definitely coming back. Freemont St is where its at in Vegas
Best hotel downtown for sure! Also the best swimming pool downtown with s shark tank and water slide that goes right through it!
Is located in the downtown. Luxurious hotel. Unique swimming pool with a huge fish tank where you can see fish swimming. The hotel contains a great variety of very good restaurants. This is an iniconic Vegas place located in the heart of the city where is freamont street.
We we're walking through and had the buffet. The pool looks like a great time the buffet was ok. The deli meats were the highlight.
Not givin bracliet I'll ets like 4kings or t.f he D how to get discont ob rooms
Good pools and lots of beautiful single women and drink specials
We had tickets to the Gap Band Concert in the ballroom. The seats were comfortable and we had a great view of the stage. The acoustics were good. It's an older hotel but it is still a favorite
Love the rooms. Comfy beds. It's the nicest place to stay downtown
What happened to this place? This was the best place to stay a few years ago, not this time! Our room smelled like a skunk camped out in it, TV and phone both were not working and Sink didn't drain. I contacted the front desk and was promised a call back from a manager, but that never happened. I played 7 hours at the craps table and 3.5 hours of slots to ONLY receive $5 in comps... what a joke! They only recorded 3.5 hours of each and said I only bought in at the table for 300? My response was... how is that even possible with a $10 minimum bet @ just the 3.5 hours they recorded? My question to them was... where did my other 1200 go? I left it at that and only played at the 4 Queens the rest of my trip. Pick your game up Nugget!
Tables were cold, drink service was sloooooow.......
Walked through looks clean and spotless pool looks way cool w the shark tank
Old school cool is still present even though the property boasts modern resort touches. I particularly enjoy Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse.
The Golden Nugget seemed like a hotel located in a really fun area. Freemont has so much to offer in terms of entertainment and food and the Golden Nugget was within that selection. We attended the buffet and were greeted by some lovely people. The food was pretty ok, smaller selection but there was some variety and the fresh made omelettes are probably the best thing about the experience. The price wasn't too bad as well.
I hate to say it, but I was quite let down.
Upon checking in, we had a friendly staff. My friends person who checked her in was very rude and brushed off any questions she had.
When we got to our room in the Rush tower, it was dirty. There was an open toothpaste container squirted on the floor and a washcloth used. The air conditioner wasn't working, and the tv also wouldn't work. When we did get it on, it was fuzzy and lines running through it. NO EXTRAS
30$ night for a fridge, 15$ night for coffee maker if you want.
we decided to "upgrade" to rooms that had these amenities which was nice. We actually only paid 20 more a night to have this room. When we tried getting our friend to do the same. She was told it would be 70 and wouldn't have the extras and the room would be smaller. Honestly a complete joke. Don't go to front services, if you need anything or want to upgrade go to the VIP services area. that is where we did and they were friendly and helpful in there.
We've done a lot of traveling and stayed at a lot of both cheap and expensive hotels. This was honestly one of my least favorite hotel experiences I've had.
You cant go wrong, located in the heart of Freemont, I'll be back!!!
We stayed at a nearby hotel and came to gamble. It was a great experiance. The dealers were very friendly, and made our experiance something to remember!
Nice but real strict on giving free drinks. If your wife is playing slots and you are watching they won't give you a free drink.
Great food, friendly staff, clean bright and so much fun!
Classic Las Vegas. Golden Nugget is fun and usually on the cheaper side compared to strip casinos. Room was clean and presentable. The staff we had interactions with were very friendly and helpful. Will be back for more.
Saw Tommy James and the Shondell's in the Show Room. What a great party! He is an entertainer and all around nice guy. Now, this is music!
Love the look of this hotel. Had lunch during happy hour. Pizza, calamari & 2 draft Italian beers. Delicious food, decor, atmosphere & service.
This hotel casino is well kept and clean. Probably one of the best properties in old Town.
Elevators need some love..
And the worst lit Chihuly glass sculpture I've seen..
It was a pretty normal hotel. Alittle pricey for the shape it is in and customer service wasn't all that great. Only reason im giving it a 3 and not a 1 is because of the convenience of the location on freemont and it had a nice vibe too it.
Spacious rooms at the Rush Tower with sectional couch and ottoman.
Wouldn't want to see this place before renovation. Furniture looks painted over, poorly. TV resolution isn't even 720p. Channel selection is for the elderly.
Carpet is relativity clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff were pleasant.
No coffee pot, no fridge, no microwave, but they do have sharks, and a water slide. Also right on Freemont so close to the action. Also no laundry.
First time being at the golden nugget, my girlfriend brought me for my birthday. The red sushi was amazing, a bit pricey tho. the pool was full but we enjoyed the "adult only section". I only wish we had known about it on our first day. Spend a lot of time learning how to play blackjack at the pool natalie was hilarious & she really helped us learn how to play. And the pit boss was a character. We lost $400 but we had a great time. cant wait to come back next year.
The Nugget is a pretty cool hotel. The restaurants are good and the rooms are nice. The Fremont Experience is a must see. The sharks are cool to watch out by the pool.
Very nice hotel, nice clean room and Spacious..will stay again
The TV was broken and there was rust in the bath tub a overall horrible experience the maitence guy was nice though ended up booking another room at a different hotel
Great casino with a great staff. Drinks came out quick and staff was very friendly. Looking forward to our next trip here.
Nice boutique spa but wouldn't get facial treatments here. Small spa with all the basic amenities (sauna, steam room etc.) with nice added additions like trail mix and juices which spas are starting to skimp on. Terrible management of facial treatments. The facial room is in the salon (not the spa) with all the blow dryers and conversations audible throughout the treatment. I got the 80min facial and the first 15min were spent on my feet with nothing on my face. I didn't realize I was buying a 50min facial with a pedicure attached. Also no extractions, which is abnormal for such a long facial. Prices are steep (Golden Nugget tends to think they can charge Strip prices Downtown), but with the local discount prices are more acceptable. Parking is free/validated with spa service
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very nice and spacious. Buffet was yummy, Paco put on a great show the lounge was fun and swimming with sharks was a great thrill. P.S. the Bloody Marys were fabulous !
Reasonably clean. The slots were pretty forgiving too.
What a fun place and the drinks were reasonably priced for Vegas
Super nice in halls and where people would be staying. The casino is an older one so not like the big new ones. Old charm. Small gaming area. And on freemont street away from strip
It was awesome! Lots of machines. Lots of action. And the music in the lounge was awesome; funk!
First casino we visited, free valet parking, sweet!
We had a great time and a beautiful room... Thanks Golden Nugget staff!!!
Amazing architecture. Interior design was unreal. Not much built with such high end materials and craft anymore. Would be better if so many people didn't smoke.
Fun casino and great buffet. Our server was top notch as well ... dirty plates were promptly cleared and water/beverage glasses always filled.
My stay in the Rush Tower Suite was absolutely amazing. The hotel was so wonderful, clean, and welcoming. The location is amazing. The bathroom was luxurious and so clean. I enjoyed the rain shower and soaking tub. The room was comfortable and huge. I would definitely stay at the Golden Nugget whenever I take a trip to Vegas again.
Great hotel & casino in DT Old Vegas. I stayed here for four days, and the rooms were well maintained by staff. The casino is nice although a bit on the higher side for base gambling cost (It is also nicer). Good central location for all your adventures in Old Vegas!
Great food in the Italian restaurant. Saw the grassroots in concert tonight.
Room was fine, especially considering the rate. Food was fine too.
